Hi,
To send alert emails to the client, he should have have one communication user in PI system. And specify that user in the fixed receipent in ALRTCATDEF tcode. And do the following.
1).Goto t-code SCOT; double-click SMTP and specify the mail-host and mail-port for the respective mail server.
2)Make the u2018Node in useu2019 check box as checked.
3)Click on the u2018Internet->Setu2019 button under u2018Supported address typesu2019 to specify the email-address of the recipient.
Specify the email-address of the recipient who is going to receive the alert mails.
(OR) Specify u2018*u2019 in case of multiple email-ids.
-->Goto Menu->Settings->Default Domain and specify the domain id of the company.
-->Save the settings done in SCOT.

Error in sending mail : SMTPSendFailedExcept Client was not authenticated
Hello all,
I am new to the forum,
I have a small program to send mail to Microsoft exchange server.
Now the server is enabled with https option.
Now i am getting error :

at javax.mail.Transport.send0(Transport.java:191)
at javax.mail.Transport.send(Transport.java:120)
at SendEmail.main(SendEmail.java:55)
there are two things:
As the program sends mail from a webpage, a user password used for login to the webpage is different from his mail server password, it is not possible to give a username and password to send mail / read mail from the exchange server.
Please give any other option without passing user name and password to the exchange server.1. Reconfigure the Exchange server to allow sending without authentication.
2. Authenticate to the Exchange server using credentials specific to the web application itself.
Configure the Exchange server to allow the user with those credentials to send mail that appears
to be from any other user.
No, I don't know how to do any of that with Exchange; ask Microsoft. -

Failed to send mail to external domain via portal
Hi Gurus,
By following the configuraion instructions in <b>SAP library - Collaboration - Groupware - Installing and Configuring E-Mail Connectivity</b>, I managed to send mail to recipients who reside in same domain e.g. <b>[email protected]</b> via portal.
However, I failed to send mail to external domain e.g. <b>[email protected]</b>. I got the following error message:

at com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport.sendMessage(SMTPTransport.java:320)
Please help.
Thanks alot.Hi Ajey,
Thanks for your reply. I had tried your suggestion but same problem occurred with same error output.
Actually, I encounterred this error message before in my <b>Microsoft Outlook</b>, where System Admin returned me a mail saying that, my mail was undeliverable with the same error message. But this can be solved by applying the <b>Internet Email Account Setting - Outgoing Server - My outgoing server (SMTP) require authentication</b>.
So I am wondering,
1) This problem is caused by SMTP server?
2) Is there any workaround (like the Outlook Setting) I can configure in Portal?
Do you have any idea?
Thanks,

Cant send mail to outside domain
HI,
I've developed a program to send a mail. The program works fine in development & quality systems. However in production system the program fails to send mail to any recipient which is in outside domain. The program sends mail to user which is in my company's domain. Can any one please help.
The program was working fine till last month , however it has stopped sending mails to outside domain now.
ByeHi mac,
There is one setting in transaction SCOT (Basis people will be able to help you).
There we can specifiy the domains. Generally it is *. But it can be restricted. This may be causing the issue.

Outlook does not send mail to extern domains
It says that "[550] 5.7.1 Rcpt command failed: Mail denied due to site's policy".
Web Access Client at the same time send mail to outside without any problems.
Outlook connector and Collaboration Suite ver. - 10.1.2.
Where is problem?you should change the next value in smtp inbound
Enable Routing Control : active
allow message relay : true
allow message relay domain : *
flag process: -l
Recipient Rewriting Rules: $*@your host target smtp,$1@your domain target smtp,
example:
$*@mail.sinux.com.pe,$[email protected],
you should change the next value in smtp outbound
rele smtp : ip of your source mail or relay :port smtp
flag process: -l

Problem in workflow sending mails to external domains like yahoo, gmail etc.
hi
i have one probs in my workflow that when i am sending mail to an external id it is not going to gmail, yahoo or hotmail etc.
it is being send to a particular domain say XYZ
but outside it ,no mail is send
and error is coming that recepient is unknown
we have firewalls being placed on smtp
and each and every setting in SCOT has been checked thorughly
but still mail except to one domain is not going outside
i have came across the info that since SAP doesn have any user id authentication but SMTP does has ,so when mail is being send outside the mail sending is failed, one option could be to disable the authentication at SMTP but thats doesn come inside the policy of client
so i think there must be a way out in SAP to deal with this
please suggest how can i send the mails externally,i ahve checked each and every thing inside my SMTP configuration ,adress is defined as * here but still mail is being send to internal domain of the client in which i am working ,but not at all to the external domains like gmail, yahoo etc.
any help will be highly appreciated
best regards
ashishHi Ashish,
I think you will need to check with your exchange guys because probably the exchange server will not relay the messages form the SAP server to external e-mail domains.

Hi Hussein,
Thanks Alot for your reply.
Currently we changed the SMTP Server(mail.craftsmanautomation.com).we used anoth SMTP server to configure Notification Mailer.Because previous one(owa.craftsmanautomation.com) is not able to send mail's to outside domains.
But in this case we got the below error message while testing.Below error message we captured from the output file of the script Oracle Workflow ATG Support: R12 Java Mailer Setup Diagnostic Test.

Unable to send mails to other domains using sendmail in RHEL5
Hi,
we are unable to send the mails to other domain/gmail/hotmail except our own corporate domain .
Following is the error message ,
xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=120332, relay= ******.****.corp. [xx.xx.xx.xx], dsn=5.7.1, stat=User unknown
Kindly suggest.Like I previously outlined there can be numerous reasons. The error message you are providing is absolutely useless. You will need to find out how your emails are being routed, i.e. sent to the outside directly or via another smtp gateway inside your network. Check your sendmail "smarthost" configuration, IP firewall and contact the mail administrator of your company if you use another mail gateway for relay. If you are allowed to send emails to the Internet cloud directly then you're server should be registered by a public MX DNS record. Google or Hotmail doesn't care what DNS you have configured locally. You don't add DNS entries into resolv.conf, only which servers to contact for you own DNS resolving. You may need to contact your Internet service provider or configure the DNS server that represents your DNS authority and address space to the worldwide Internet.

Problem sending mail to one domain
System: Netware 6.5.8 with all current patches.
We are having a problem sending mail to one particular domain (neigerllp.com). When a message is sent our GW GWIA returns a "553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)" error message. We receive that error because our mail server is looking at their secondary mx instead of their primary mx. If I unload named then our mail server looks for the secondary external DNS server and mail is sent without error to this domain. When named is not loaded it sends to the correct mx server listed. If I reload named it will work for a while but then default to the incorrect mail server. It also works for a while when I load named -pa, but eventually reverts back to the incorrect server. Could someone help me resolve this issue?
Thanks,

Not here. It's a known GWIA bug. It doesn't look at the preference in
the MX record, but merely uses them i nthe order they come in. Your DNS
making a difference is a red herring.
Check if your GWIA is up to date. If it is, you will have to open a SR
with Novell.

Sending Mails to external domains
Hi,
Scenario:
--I am having OCS 10g 10.1.2.3.0 on a singlebox RHEL ES Rel3 (taroon update4)
--I have an Exchange Server on another box with Microsft Exchange Server
--There is one more Proxy Server Box with firewalls having a proxy port to access the internet
I was able to send mails from Oracle Workspaces to the OCS local domain but not to the external domains like yahoo.com, hotmail.com
I was not able to ping the yahoo mail server or hotmail mail server, since the intenet connection is not a direct connection.
Can i have any workaround for this.. or how can i configure the current system to facilitate sending mails from OCS to other email domains also..?
Many Thanks in advance..,
