Required Java Version 1.4.1 available 1.3.1_01 when launching BPEL Designer

Hi, All,
I just installed BPEL Process Manager 10.1.2 and BPEL Designer 0.9.13. The eclispe I have is 3.1.2 for windows. I started BPEL Process Manager first, then I tried to start BPEL Designer, I got an error "Required Java Version 1.4.1 available 1.3.1_01". I have J2SE Development Kit 5.0 Update 6 installed, why do I still get this error?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

I am getting the same error message. But when I try the command mentioned above
(eclipse -vm c:\jdk1.4.2\jre\bin\javaw -vmargs -Xmx256M) it says eclipse is not a valid internal or external command.
I am running this from command prompt at D:\.
Eclipse is unzipped at D:\Program Files. I am not able to move to Program Files directory as CD Program Files does not work. Please help

    Hi Bala,
I don't have permission to access the attachments in the SR, but this sounds like it could be the well known Java Security issue affecting the WebStart of EDQ. See the following article on the support site:

  • With version 5.0.1 bookmarks are automatically updated when launching the application, which was not the case in the previous versions. Is it possible to avoid that ?

I prefered the previous versions when the bookmarks did not update automatically when launching Firefox

  • Custom Classpath when launching Workflow Designer (and other Java bits)

Hello - I thought this tid-bit might come in handy (if it's not already mentioned anywhere else)
If you want to add additional classpath entries to Workflow Designer you can do so in the following way:
    1) find the adobe_workflow_designer.exe that the installer created
    2) Create a file with a .cp extention in the same folder. MyJars.cp is an example
    3) put one line in this file for each jar file to load. Example:
The Designer executable is generated from InstallShield - there are other ways to change the java startup parameters (like memory options, garabage collection, etc.) documented here: http://helpnet.installshield.com/robo/projects/isxuniversalhelplibrary/topics/native_laun cher_modifying.htm#CP

  • Java - version does not return the version??

    Hi,
The following is from a cmd window
    C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.2\bin>java -version
    C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.2\bin>
It seems to be missing the expected:
    java version "1.2.2"
Classic VM (build JDK-1.2.2_006, native threads, symcjit)
Another side effect is that any application using java to launch creates a java process (briefly observed through task manager) and then dies almost instantly.
The machine is a Win2000 Server running JRE 1.2.2_006, I've tried uninstalling, re-installing, rebooting (between unistalling and reinstalling), setting the path and classpath variables to nothing and running from the folder.
Anyone seens this before? know what the resolution is?
    Thanks
    Dave

Thanks for the response, I've already tried that with no success.
It appears that it might be related to the fact that it's installed on a VMWare machine.
The java -version command works fine on the VMWare machine when the VM is running on the host machine that it was built on, however when the VMWare machine was moved to a new host it seems that when you run the java interpreter it launches and then just dies??
I still don't have an answer for why the Java -version does not work.
As I said before I have uninstalled and reinstalled JRE 1.2.2 a couple of times with no success, however a workaround appears to be to install the JRE 1.3.1.
After installing JRE 1.3.1 the java -version command works, fortunately the java applications I am using 'seem' to be compatible (with a few modifications to path variables etc) with the 1.3.1 version.
    Thanks

  • Determine Java version with JavaScript

At my organization there is a Web Application which requires Java 1.4.1_02 installed. The login page is a JSP and we would like to not only determine if the correct version of Java is installed but to have the installation occurr automatically. Is there a JavaScript we could use to perform this service?

Writing a Web Application that requires Java 1.4.1_02 doesn't mean that you need to ensure that the browsers have this version of Java installed. You'll only need to make sure that Java 1.4 is available on the server.
The case where you're interested in checking the version of java the browser supports is if the WEb app uses Applets.
If your Web app does use applets, let the jsp:plugin tag serve up the applet. It will provide the functionality you expect -- prompting the user to download java 1.4 -- without any Javascript, etc. The jsp:plugin tag also helps determine which java platform (IE or Netscape) to download for the browser.

  • How to unistall and install the hole Java version

    Hy,
I tried to unnistal the supposedly old version java and install a new one.
I coudn't install the new version because the installer tells me that " This volume contens a new version of java", but when I tried to use one program that requires java it didn't work.
    My questions are:
1- How can I unistall the old version?
2- How can IO install de new one?
    Thanks ,
    Luciana

If you need to install Java legacy SE 6 runtime, first, you can try going to the website associated with the software (app) that you are trying to run and see if they have any support options.  If there is nothing available for you, you can try this link (it worked for me anyway):  users can download Java 6 here
I was trying to run my Finale program (music notation software) for the first time after the Yosemite upgrade, and I got an error message that said I needed to install Java legacy SE 6 runtime.  After searching a few other places online with no success, I found this link on Finale's website (www.makemusic.com) and clicked on "FINALE," then "SUPPORT," then "SUPPORT SOLUTIONS" and I typed "Java legacy SE 6 runtime" into the search bar.  The #1 search topic that came up is titled, " Java 6 SE Update Required Message when launching Finale or PrintMusic."  After clicking on that, There was this link to install Java legacy SE 6 runtime: users can download Java 6 here
If you click on that link, it will download the update.  You will then go to your downloads folder, click on the file, and then it will step you through all the usual installation prompts.  This link is trustworthy, so no worries there!  I hope this helps!

  • TSM Java version

    Hello,
We have 10gR2 installed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 4).
The installed Java version on the database-server is 1.4.2.0 and coming from Red Hat (GCC Java).
To install Tivoli Storage manager for Oracle, Java version 1.4.2.1 is required. There is no higher GCC-version available than 1.4.2.0.
Is it possible and safe to move to Sun Java ? What are the (Oracle-)consequences of this move ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sjang

To see if Java is installed (that is, if you haven't disabled it in Java Preferences.app) enter into Terminal in Utilities and hit return.
    java -version
If you use Safari, Apple has disabled Java 6 from there. Probably also Firefox and Chrome.

I earlier had a java 1.7 installed in my system.  I wanted to revert the version back to 1.6.  I downloaded the file JavaForOSX2014-001.dmg and installed it in my hard disk.  I am not sure where it has installed it but it has successfully done it.  When I open up the terminal and enter java -version it shows 1.6.0_65 version as the java version.
But in the System Preferences, Java is disabled and does not show the java as being installed.  Please guide me in getting my java 1.6 back.

The preferences pain shows this message when I click on the Java icon -- “Java can’t be opened because it isn’t available".

I have just purchased a 5S iphone, when I tried to sync with my Imac it comes up with "...requires iTunes version 11.1 or later.." my iTunes version is 10.6.3, I rechecked software updates but says there is no updates required??? I checked when last auto update was done which was 01/07/12 I also tried downloading from web iTunes version 11.1.5 but it wont load because I don't have min version 10.6.8. What can I do to sort this out? Note: I am a not computer savy so be easy on me.

If your computer is running an OS X prior to Snow Leopard 10.6,
the answer (if it is an Intel-based Mac; not old PowerPC model)
would be to buy the retail Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD from Apple
for about $20, and install it. Then update that to 10.6.8 by using
the installed Snow Leopard online to get Combo Update v1.1 for
Snow Leopard 10.6.8. After that is installed & updated, run the
system's Software Update again, to see what else is available to
    that system.
Later systems can then be looked into at Mac App Store, once
the computer is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
And if your computer is a Power PC (G4/G5, etc) and has no
Core2Duo kind of CPU -- See "About this Mac" in apple menu
to disclose the general info about your Mac. Also you can see
even more by clicking on "More Info" when looking in there...
If it isn't an Intel-based Mac, it can't run a system past 10.5.8.
    Hopefully this helps.
    Good luck & happy computing!

Thanks for your reply. My Mac is running 10.5.8: it's 4 years old.  When I try to update the OS software, I'm told there are none available.
Be careful - there's a difference between update and upgrade.  Your machine is saying there are no updates available, meaning no later versions of OS X 10.5 (Leopard).  However, you can very likely upgrade - at least to OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), and possibly then to OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
Updates are free, but upgrades cost a bit.  That's the dirference.
