Required Value

I have a radio button that asks the user if their current address is valid for the previous 5 years. If the user selects no, then I show the fields for their previous address.
----- F.P1.CurrentAddressQuestion::change - (JavaScript, client) -----
if (this.rawValue == 1) {
F.P1.PrevAddresPrompt.presence = "hidden";
F.P1.PrevAddress.presence = "hidden";
F.P1.PrevCity.presence = "hidden";
F.P1.PrevState.presence = "hidden";
F.P1.PrevZipCode.presence = "hidden";
F.P2.PrevAddressText.presence = "hidden";
F.P1.PrevAddress.rawValue = "";
F.P1.PrevCity.rawValue = "";
F.P1.PrevState.rawValue = "";
F.P1.PrevZipCode.rawValue = "";
if (this.rawValue == 2) {
F.P1.PrevAddresPrompt.presence = "visible";
F.P1.PrevAddress.presence = "visible";
F.P1.PrevCity.presence = "visible";
F.P1.PrevState.presence = "visible";
F.P1.PrevZipCode.presence = "visible";
F.P2.PrevAddressText.presence = "visible";
What I would like to do is in addition to showing the fields is make the fields required. Is there a way with java to do this if the user selects No (2)? If so, can you provide a quick example? Im new to this. Thanks in advance!

Larry

  • Why different Overall requirements value between labor and pool capacity

    Hi all,
    I create a PM Order with using a PP work center and this PP work has 3 Capacity category: machine, labor, pool.
    after I check the PM Order with CM35
    and i find out, that Overall requirements value are different between labor and pool capacity. Is this normal?
    In my opinion,labor and pool should have same amount requirements of capacities.

      I even tried to compile the Calendar server on my mac client as explained at this address:
    http://www.ronregev.com/misc/pim_server_tutorial/
      The compiled server works fine, but the Calendar application gives the same error.
    The only info I found about this error message is that the Calendar application itself is at fault, and not the server:
    https://github.com/Kozea/Radicale/issues/111
    Any idea how to make it work?

    Never mind, I found the reason to my problem.
    And the error message didn't help at all (go figure).
    The thing is that my server is connected to ActiveDirectory, and Calendar doesn't support the normal encryption.It works if I disable the password encryption, as explained in this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3660
    This article is so badly written, it doesn't give an idea of what error message we could expect, or how to make it work with Kerberos. It just tells you not to bother with reading it in the first place.

  • Required values for CONCSUB

    I am new to Oracle and am in charge of automating processes we currently do manually.
    I intend to use CONCSUB to run a concurrent request to automatically import EDI 830s, but am unable to find the required data. Can someone please assist with finding the required values for responsibility name, responsibility short name, application name, and application short name?
    The responsibility is E-Commerce Gateway and I think the short name is EC, is this correct?
    The application I am running is a concurrent request to import EDI 830 data ( Process: Import Program>Request:Run Inbound). Would this name be FND_something and the short name be FND?
    Please answer or direct me to where I can find this information.
    Thank you,
    Tony the Intern

    Hi,
    I am not sure i correctly understand your question. The required values for the resp_name etc or the values of those?
    Navigation to finding responsibility values:
    System Administrator-->Security-->Responsibility-->Define-->
    You can find the Responsibility Name, Responsibility Key and the Application Name.
    Navigation for finding the Application Short Name:
    System Administrator-->Application-->Register-->
    Search with the application name you found in first name.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • SPEL to set required value

    Hi,
    I've browsed thru a lot of the SPEL posts here but couldn't quite get an answer.
    I'm trying to do something simple - set SPEL on a required field. The available options are "yes", "no" and "SPEL"
    I extended my VO and added a new boolean attribute - lets call it xxIsequired, and personalized the field required property to {oa.xxVO.xxIsequired}, but there is no change (doesn't work). I checked that the substitution is in fact working, and I know the new attribute xxIsequired returns true or false correctly.
    Then I tried changing the attribute xxIsequired to string, and return yes or no. With this I can't even get the personalization page to save (Error:"Please provide a valid value for 'required'.").
    So if only boolean attribute can be used, will it really work with required attribute which needs a "yes" or "no"?
    I am on OA Framework 12.1.3.
    Thanks,
    Kalp

    Thank you for your responses. I can't get it to work. Don't know what's wrong??
    This is my code (cut down for simplicity):
    VO Query select:
    CASE WHEN country <> 'US' THEN 1
    ELSE 0
    END xxisTaxReq
    VO Attribute:
    <ViewAttribute
    Name="xxIsTaxReq"
    IsPersistent="false"
    Precision="1"
    Type="java.lang.Boolean"
    ColumnType="NUMBER"
    AliasName="IS_TAX_REQ"
    Expression="IS_TAX_REQ"
    SQLType="BIT" >
    <DesignTime>
    <Attr Name="_DisplaySize" Value="14" />
    </DesignTime>
    </ViewAttribute>
    SPEL:
    Required attribute: ${oa.xxVO.xxIsTaxReq}
    I tried to create a new item thru personalization on the page and the value true/false comes through correctly on the screen.
    So this really baffles me, I dont know what I'm doing wrong? The true/false value is available but the personalization doesnt apply it to required field.

  • Validate lookup field - require value other than first item

    I thought I would share something, and if there is a better way, please share. I have a list with a few Lookups that I wasn't able to require (since requiring them inserts the first option), and I was also not able to validate them (since they are Lookup
    columns). Nevertheless, I needed a way to ensure a value was entered with some amount of thought.
    The solution for me was to insert a Script Editor Web Part into the Default New Form and inserting a javascript snippet. On the list, on the ribbon List tab there is a Form Web Parts drop-down where the Default New Form can be found. Once you are there,
    Adding a Web Part is pretty straight forward. The Script Editor Web Part can be found in Media and Content and you will insert your code after clicking on Edit Snippet.
    The code, for me, needed to check a couple different Lookups for the Default "(None)" value when not set as a required field and block the Save and alert the user. In order to reference the correct Lookup fields I needed to use the IE Developer
    tools (click on the cog, choose "F12 Developer Tools"), on the "DOM Explorer" tab select the left-most icon for the "Select element" tool and click on the Lookup field you need to reference.
    Here is the code that worked for me:
    <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
    function PreSaveAction()
    var e = document.getElementById('_x002e_034_x002d_Company_e721cbe9-05ee-41cd-8227-9fc32c09e8fc_$LookupField');
    var strClient = e.options[e.selectedIndex].text;
    var g = document.getElementById('_x002E_037_x002d_Contacts_ddad3e65-bd8a-4dec-9efc-fb9416a025b1_$LookupField');
    var strContact = g.options[g.selectedIndex].text;
    if(strClient=="(None)")
    alert("***Client Field Required***\nPlease select a Client from the list or enter a New Client.");
    return false;
    if(strContact=="(None)")
    alert("***Contact Field Required***\nPlease select a Contact from the list or enter a New Contact.");
    return false;
    return true;
    </script>
    I assume you can reference as many fields as you might require. Have fun with this, and I hope the solution is easily found for the next SharePoint Dev ;-).

  • Required values should be displayed in forst search screen for Variable

    HI Gurus

  • Required Value Mapping

    Hello
    I have to import Matmas into the MDM. I have already imported the lookup tables from the R/3-System. I want to have to use the Import Sever for the import.
    However, the values of some fields are not mapped. It there a was to map them automatically??
    I have several source files, therefore it is impossible to map each value separately.

  • NULL value not validated for a Required field

    Hi,
    I have added a MessageLovInput item to the expense header page (/oracle/apps/ap/oie/entry/header/webui/GeneralInformationPG), and have made the Required Value to True. But I do not get any error when I navigate to the next page without populating the field. If I enter in incorrect information, it validates it against the LOV, but not for null values.
    Any pointers to make the field validate NULL values?
    Thanks,
    Ashish

    Yeah.. I can see the Required field indicator (*) next to the field. I have tried with all the values (uiOnly, ValidatorOnly, Yes etc.), but it does not validate NULL values.
    I'll try to handle this in the controller, but would prefer if this can be done by personalization.

  • Using value binding expressions to set 'required' attribute

    I am trying to use a value binding expression to determine whether the value of various input control's is required or not according to where they are used and not having much luck. I wonder if anyone can shed some light on this...
    The following expression works: <h:inputText id="name" required="#{true}"/> whereas <c:set var="required" value="true" scope="request"/>
    <h:inputText id="name" required="#{required}"/> does not, even though the expression evaluates to true! I have tried numerous variations (requestScope.required, required == true, required ? true : false, etc.) to no avail. Interestingly, #{1 == 1} or binding to a backing bean method works, but as soon as you add a request variable it breaks.
    Am I doing something wrong, is this something that JSF doesn't allow, or just a bug in the RI? Note that I don't want to vary this flag between multiple submissions of the same form, I am just trying to reuse the same JSP include to generate form controls for required and optional data on different forms to avoid a whole lot of cutting any pasting.
    Any pointers gratefully received.
    -- Keith Wilson

    I had something like this happen, and here's what I concluded the problem was. Perhaps your problem is similar.
    In the first non-working example you show a request-scope variable being set in the JSP page, and then use that to set the "required" attribute. But consider what happens when you submit the form. There is no longer any request-scope variable set because we have a new request and we don't go through the JSP page! (Not before validation is checked, anyhow).
    So basically I concluded that the variable had to be in (say) session scope for it to work as you would like.

  • Limiting the value help for a user input variable as required

    Hello Gurus,
    I have a requirement :-
    Restrict the value help for a user input variable in a query to only a required set of values instead of the default behaviour. ie instead of having all the values in the master data of that characteristics in the value help.
    How do I go about it? - Do I have to explore the precalculated value set feature?
    If so, please tell me how to go about it in BI 7.I would appreciate if you could explain it in detail rather than sending me a URL because I have gone through most of them but Iam yet to figure out how to create the broadcast setting and subsequent steps.
    Thanks for your time.
    Regards,
    Kris_Hitman

    I believe if the User doesn't want to see any particular values in F4 help then it means they are not intrested in viewing the transaction data related to those values.
    So why don't you restrict that object with the required values. Then the F4 help will automatically display only those values.

  • Job scheduling(passing the values to the child program)

    when i'm trying to schedule a background job(using job_open job_submit and job_close) i'm passing the values of the selection screen(parent program) to my child program using set parameter id. And trying to get the values using get parameter id in the cild program.
    But the values of the parent program are not being passed to the child program what may be the cause for it?

    rathan,
    Why con't you use
    SUBMIT... [VIA SELECTION-SCREEN]
    [USING SELECTION-SET <var>]
    [WITH <sel> <criterion>]
    [WITH FREE SELECTIONS <freesel>]
    [WITH SELECTION-TABLE <rspar>].
    When you start an executable program, the standard selection screen normally appears, containing the selection criteria and parameters of both the logical database connected to the program and of the program itself (see Direct Execution - Reports). When you start an executable program using SUBMIT, there are various additions that you can use to fill the input fields on the selection screen:
    SUBMIT... [VIA SELECTION-SCREEN]
    [USING SELECTION-SET <var>]
    [WITH <sel> <criterion>]
    [WITH FREE SELECTIONS <freesel>]
    [WITH SELECTION-TABLE <rspar>].
    These options have the following effects:
    VIA SELECTION-SCREEN
    The selection screen of the called executable program (report) appears. If you transfer values to the program using one or more of the other options, the corresponding input fields in the selections screen are filled. The user can change these values. By default, the system does not display a selection screen after SUBMIT.
    USING SELECTION-SET <var>
    This option tells the system to start the called program with the variant <var>.
    WITH <sel> <criterion>
    Use this option to fill individual elements <sel> of the selection screen (selection tables and parameters). Use one of the elements <criterion>:
    <op> <f> [SIGN <s>], for single value selection
    If <sel> is a selection criterion, use <op> to fill the OPTION field, <f> to fill the LOW field, and <s> to fill the SIGN field of the selection table <sel> in the called program.
    If <sel> is a parameter, you can use any operator for <op>. The parameter <sel> is always filled with <f>.
    [NOT] BETWEEN <f1> AND <f2> [SIGN <s>], for interval selection
    <f1> is transferred into the LOW field, <f2> into the HIGH field, and <s> into the SIGN field of the selection table <sel> in the called program. If you omit the NOT option, the system places the value BT into the OPTION field; if you use NOT, the system fills OPTION with NB.
    IN <seltab>, transferring a selection table
    This addition fills the selection table <sel> in the called program with the values of the table <seltab> in the calling program. Table <seltab> must have the structure of a selection table. Use the RANGES statement to create selection tables.
    WITH FREE SELECTION <freesel>, user dialog for dynamic selections
    To use this option, the called program must be connected to a logical database that supports dynamic selections. In the calling program, use the function modules FREE_SELECTIONS_INIT and FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG. They allow the user to enter dynamic selections on a selection screen. One export parameter of these function modules has structure RSDS_TEXPR from the RSDS type group. Transfer the values of this export parameter by means of the internal table <freesel> of the same structure to the called report.
    WITH SELECTION-TABLE <rspar>, dynamic transfer of values
    You need an internal table <rspar> with the Dictionary structure RSPARAMS. The table then consists of the following six fields:
    SELNAME (type C, length 8) for the name of the selection criterion or parameter
    KIND (type C, length 1) for the selection type (S for selection criterion, P for parameter)
    SIGN, OPTION, LOW, HIGH as in a normal selection table, except that LOW and HIGH both have type C and length 45.
    This table can be filled dynamically in the calling program with all of the required values for the selection screen of the called program. If the name of a selection criterion appears more than once, the system creates a multiple-line selection table for that criterion in the called program. If the name of a parameter appears more than once, the system uses the last value. Note that LOW and HIGH have type C, so that the system executes type conversions to the criteria of the called program. This is important for date fields, for example. Before your program is used in a live context, you should check it using the VIA SELECTION-SCREEN addition.
    Except for WITH SELECTION-TABLE, you can use any of the above options several times and in any combination within a SUBMIT statement. In particular, you can use the WITH <sel> option several times for one single criterion <sel>. In the called program, the system appends the corresponding lines to the selection tables used. For parameters, it uses the last value specified. The only combination possible for the WITH SELECTION-TABLE option is USING SELECTION-SET.
    If the input fields on the selection screen are linked to SPA/GPA parameters, you can also use this technique to pass values to the selection screen (see Passing Data Between Programs).
    The following executable program (report) creates a selection screen containing the parameter PARAMET and the selection criterion SELECTO:
    REPORT  demo_program_submit_rep1.
    DATA number TYPE i.
    PARAMETERS      paramet(14) TYPE c.
    SELECT-OPTIONS  selecto FOR number.
    The program DEMO_PROGRAM_SUBMIT_REP1 is called by the following program using various parameters:
    REPORT demo_program_submit_sel_screen NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING.
    DATA: int TYPE i,
          rspar TYPE TABLE OF rsparams,
          wa_rspar LIKE LINE OF rspar.

  • Find and replace value in Delimited String

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement, where i need to find and replace values in delimited string.
    For example, the string is "GL~1001~157747~FEB-13~CREDIT~A~N~USD~NULL~". The 4th column gives month and year. I need to replace it with previous month name. For example: "GL~1001~157747~JAN-13~CREDIT~A~N~USD~NULL~". I need to do same for last 12 months.
    I thought of first devide the values and store it in variable and then after replacing it with required value, join it back.
    I just wanted to know if there is any better way to do it?

    gaurav

    Hi Gaurav,
    The Function Module u2018 PYXX_READ_PAYROLL_RESULT u2019 generically reads a complete payroll result, that is for all country versions, from file PCL2 or from the buffer. In doing so, the payroll result is transferred to the PAYROLL_RESULT parameter. In the calling system, this must be classified as a complex structure according to the 'PAYxx_RESULT' dictionary structure. u2018 xx u2018 is the ISO code for the country. Now the payroll result is in the parameter FS_PAY99_RESULT. In this parameter the RT table is considered and the required values are moved into a internal table (say  T_RT).
    Regards,
    Swapna.
