Hello Nigel,
thank you for the previous Information.

- I have read your message regarding library sources, and I still have a question regarding saprfc on Linux 32bit x86.
I am trying to compile saprfc under Ubuntu 8.04 32bit and I cannot find the appropriate NON-UNICODE sap-rfc source.
Note 1025361 "Support and Availability of the SAP NetWeaver RFC Library" clearly states that
"For the release 7.11 of the NW RFC SDK the following platforms and OS versions are currently supported:
Linux x86 32bit (Versions: SuSE SLES9, SuSE SLES10, RedHat EL4, RedHat EL5)"
- however I could not find "NW RFC SDK for Linux x86 32bit" at https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/swdc (there is only a 64bit version)

    Hi Experts,
I'm tring to create a relational connection to SAP Netweaver BW Infoprovider: Information Design Tool
And have mentioned all the parameters needed for the connection correctly.
Current version is BW 7.4 and IDT 4.1
But m getting the error which is returning from the host due to failed RFC Connection which I have not understood.
Please guide me how to resolve this error and what is the reason behind this error. .

    Hi,
Check the attached wiki link to setup RFC connection. If this not already setup then ask your basis team to setup RFC connection. Before creating the IDT connection test the RFC connection in sm59.

  • BO 4.0 - Database error: Unable to connect to SAP BW Incomplete logon data

    Hello Experts,
I have enabled a 'SSO to database' between SAP BW and Business objects by referencing to the documents related to below link.
I have created a universe connection with option 'use single sign on when refreshing reports at view time' and have created a universe on top of my BEx query by log-in to the universe designer tools using my LDAP account.
Now when I run the report with either SAP account or LDAP - I am able to run a adhoc webi report on this universe and get data either through the webi rich client or via BO 4.0 Info-view/Launch Pad.
But the issue is that when other users are trying to run webi queries on this universe either through Info-view/launch pad or rich client by log-in via LDAP Authentication - they get the below error: I have given SAP_ALL to this user for time being and also have done the necessary configuration for 'simple user format' in CMC so these user has 1 account with 3 alias definitions: Enterprise, SAP, R/3.
Database error: Unable to connect to SAP BW server Incomplete logon data -
If the user logs on into the BO 4.0 Info-view/launch pad or webi rich client using his SAP authentication than he is able to run and retrieve data.
I also get a dump in the SAP BW system - I analyzed the dump in SAP BW using st22 tcode and it gives the error short text as - Incomplete logon data and run-time error -  CALL_FUNCTION_SIGNON_INCOMPL
    Desired outcome:
I want the users to log-in to webi rich client or BO 4.0 Launch pad/Info-view using their 'LDAP'  authentication and run reports against the universe on SAP BW/BEx query without any errors or additional username/password requirements.
Can someone please tell me if I am missing any steps/configuration and guide me to achieve the above mentioned desired result ?
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & regards,
    CD.

    Hi Simone,
    Thank you for the reply.
Here are the things done by me.
    1. Generated the keystore file and imported it in BI 4.0 CMC on  SAP Authentication Option tab
        ([http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/GeneratekeystoreandcertificateforSAPBO+BI4.0])
    2. Generate the certificate file cert.der and this cert is imported in SAP BW with STRUSTSSO2 transaction.
    3. BW Roles/Users have been imported into CMC.
    4. SAP Users and LDAP users are mapped/aliased with each other using the registry key method
        ([http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/HowtomapSAPusersandLDAPusersinSBOBI4.0+CMC])
I haven't explicitly configured STS (Security token service) as STS is a part of Adaptive processing server (APS) and I have verified that by going to servers in CMC and then to analysis services.
I have searched for SAP OSS notes related to my issue but couldn't find any note related to SAP BW SSO with Business objects 4.0. Most of the notes are relevant for BO XI 3.1 environments.
    Thanks & regards,
    CD.

    Whether your problem is solved?
We have the same problem in BO Mobile.
Two users from one BW-role, BO-groups; one user report is executed, another user - error incomplete logon data. In Web Intelligence both users reports succeeds.

  • Help needed in Connecting to SAP From Eclipse

    Hi All,
Currently, we have a requirement where we need to retrieve data from SAP System and need to upload the same in a Third Party Application (Java based system).
We are able to create an account in Java Application using Eclipse IDE by hard coding the Account details. We are stuck up in establishing the SAP connection and retrieving the details and then creating the extracted account details in Java application from Eclipse.
Any pointers on this will be of great help.
    Regards,
    Eureka

    Hi Eureka,
Please refrain from creating cross-posts in parallel forums, moreover this question is JCo-related and is not directly connected with Java EE 5. The Help needed in Connecting to SAP From Eclipse in the Java Programming forum would be enough. Please continue the discussion there.

  • HTTPs connection from SAP WebAS

    Hello,
I have to establish a connection from SAP WebAS to an iSaSiLk server via HTTPS.
The iSaSiLk authentication is based on client certificates.
I've created a SSL client PSE, generated the Certificate Request, imported the certificate response and the chain of certificates associated  with no errors. When testing the connection we're getting the following error message:

Can anyone give me any suggestion?

    Hello Olivier,
    Thanks for your answer.
I've implemented note 800240 which facilitates the PSE analysis by implementing the report ZSSF_TEST_PSE. With this report I'm able to check all the PSE content, which are:

An iSaSiLk server "is a Java programming language implementation of the SSLv2 (client-side), SSLv3, TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocols. It supports all defined cipher suites (except for Fortezza), including all AES and PSK cipher suites. iSaSiLk implements all standard TLS extensions, comes with an easy to use API and operates on top of the IAIK-JCE Javau2122 Cryptography Extension. iSaSiLk is highly configurable and will work with any alternative JCE implementation supported by a proper provider for supplying the required cryptographic algorithms".
Once again thanks for your answer.

  • External Oracle Databse connection from SAP

    Dear all,
I know that this question has been asked before, but as i am facing some primitive issues so i am again posting my query.
My requirement is to connect to an external ORACLE db from SAP and read data from that server. That ORACLE db is located in a different m/c altogether. I was trying to connect by making settings in DBCON -
    CON NAME= ORA_TEST
    DBMS= ORA
    USER NAME= administrator
    PASSWORD= (some pwd)
CON ENV= ????? (what is to be put here)
And I know that we have to make some corrections in tnsnames.ora file, but I am unable to find that file in SAP system. Where can I find this file ???
Do we have to make one RFC connection as the SAP and ORACLE servers are in diff m/c and then do the connection, but this is just my guess??
And if any RFC is at all required then what should be the parameters for that connection.
Kindly help me in resolving the issue.
    1. CON ENV ?
    2. tnsnames.ora ?
    3. Any RFC needed ?
    Points will definately be rewarded.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh.

    Hi,
I have done the required settings everywhere but the connection is failing.
The tnsname.ora file is located in my Oracle client directory and the settings done there are -
    LEVEL2 =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST =
                                192.167.40.54)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVICE_NAME = level2)
in DBCON i have made the following entry -
    1. DB Connection : NEWORA
    2. DBMS :             ORA
    3. User Name :       User Name external oracle database
    4. DB Password :   Password external oracle database
    5. Conn Info :         level2
and my ABAP code looks like -
    DATA: BEGIN OF wa,
    ncli(20) TYPE c,
    num(20) TYPE c,
    END OF wa.
    DATA: dbs TYPE dbcon-con_name.
    DATA: con(20) TYPE c.
    DATA : ls_wa LIKE wa.
dbs = 'NEWORA'. "DB Connection in DBCO
    EXEC SQL.
    connect to :dbs
    ENDEXEC.
    EXEC SQL.
    GET CONNECTION :dbs
    ENDEXEC.
    WRITE : dbs.
    EXEC SQL PERFORMING loop_output.
    select bundle_cnt, job_id from GHCBRMRT.RML_BUNDLE into :ls_wa
    ENDEXEC.
    FORM loop_output.
    WRITE: / ls_wa-ncli,
    ls_wa-num.
now my dilemma is how SAP will recognize in DBCON what really "level2" means ?? as the settings are there in ORACLE directory and not inside SAP system.
the dump error msg that I am getting is -
    Runtime Errors         DBIF_DSQL2_CONNECTERR
    Except.                   CX_SY_NATIVE_SQL_ERROR
    Date and Time          13.08.2008 10:20:47
    Short text
Error setting up a secondary database connection
    What happened?
Connection to database system not possible with
          identifier "NEWORA".
    Missing Handling of System Exception
         Program                                 YY_NEW_CONN
Kindly help in this regard as where I am going wrong.

The recommended action is: Change the refresh option of the object or use the CMC to schedule a new instance.
But creating an instance of the dashboard is not possible. What is meant by that? Is it necessary that we embed the Xcelsius flash into a PDF or a Crystal Report? What are our alternatives?
    Best regards,
    Sebastian

  • URL Reporting connecting to SAP R/3

    Hello,
We have Crystal Reports that connect to ABAP Function Modules in our R/3 4.7 system as the data source. To minimize the number of user prompts, we use URL Reporting to pass all the required parameters for the report. The one thing we have not been able to do is specify data connection information in the URL. We currently get around this by setting the data connection information (SAP server, system #, client #, etc.) in the Database Configuration for the report in the CMC. The downside to this is that the report is now limited to running against a single SAP client.
Is there a way to specify the SAP connection information (server, system #, client #, etc) in the URL Reporting string? I know it can be done for SQL data sources through the USER- and PASSWORD- commands on the URL, but is there a similar way to specify SAP connection information?
Our reporting environment is BOBJ Enteprise XI 3.1, reports are developed in Crystal Reports 2008.
    Thanks,
    Byron Clairoux

    Hi,
that is not possible. the connection is part of the report.

  • Code for Connection to SAP R/3 and acess data from it

    Hi all,
I am new to this java field. Here i have a swing application with 2 input fields.Upon entering the values of 2 inputfields followd by submit button ,a connection to the backend SAP has to be created and the 2 input values has to be given as input and the data related to those fields has to be displayed in the table.
Till now i never created connection to SAP using a java application..i know only connection to Oracle..Can any one please help me out in this
    Regards
    Padma N

To get things straight: both Oracle and SAP are company names. It's like asking "how to connect to IBM".
I assume you mean the E-Business Suite and R/3, respectively. In that case, your friendly SAP consultant will gladly help you out.

  • How to make Portal Application for connecting to SAP R/3(backend system)

    Hello  Experts,
I need to create a portal application that should connect to SAP R/3 & fetch some data in some table according to some input parameters provided at runtime & display the data in TABLEVIEW control.
Anyone can guide me on this i:e- how to go about it. What things i should know or should be aware of before creating this application. Any PDF documents , any help material, any guidance about the same will be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Chetan

    Chetan,
Webdynpro & Visual Composer ars EP Development Tools.
If you only display BAPI data then go for Visual Composer with requires no coding So I suggest you to go for Visual Composer.
You can also use Webdynpro Java or ABAP to display BAPI data by creating
      Adaptive RFC model.
You will integrate Webdynpro applications into EP by creating SAP Webdynpro iView.
