Reset app on exit

How do I have my app automatically reset on exit. I can do it when someone presses an exit button, but on mobile phones people just press the home button and the app saves state.
I want to reset a concentration style game since it is timed and wouldn't be fair to pause the game and come back later.

That's not true. In most cases this is a memory issue and in some cases simply a bug. Most often it can be corrected by either resetting the iPad or closing all other apps and restarting the app in question.
You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.

AS3 is there an event for when Android app is exiting on it's own?

Ok, I made an app for Android. And when we push the middle button or back(lefthandside) button of Android phone, we all know that Android apps still runs in the background.
So my code is this:
the first line(addEventListener) is in a private function which runs as soon as you open the app.
    NativeApplication.nativeApplication.addEventListener(flash.events.Event.EXITING, onMyAppExit)

Basically, I want saveProgress() to run when the app ACTUALLY exits from running in the background. I noticed that my app actually exits when I open another app like Candy Crush. I guess the Android OS exits apps automatically when the apps are not being used and when the app you are using takes a lot of RAM. However, my code only works when I run my app in AIR Debug Launcher(Mobile). I know that because I see the trace in the function in my output window when I click on the x button on the right corner of the app window. But when I connect my Android phone to the computer and then ---> AIR3.8 for Android settings ---> Publish, and then I "Begin Remote Debug Session", and on my Android phone, I open my app first, then open Candy Crush so that the Android OS automatically exits my app, I don't see the trace. So I finalized that the code didn't work on my phone.

HT203261 when i use any messaging app and apply any icon on the emoji keyboard, the messenger app crashes/exits to the home page.

Resetting app data

I am using a number of iPads with pupils at school and wish to reset apps to their original state after use. E.g. If pupil (a) has achieved level 5 in an app, I want to reset the app data so that when I give the ipad to pupil (b) it does not remain at level 5 but starts from zero.

Delete all content and settings will wipe your phone. You cannot selectively restore in iTunes or iCloud, it is either all or none. You would have to restore to a backup before you deleted the app to be able to recover the data. However, anything that you did since that time would be lost.

Messages App Frozen/Exiting Early. How can I reset it?

When I tap the messages icon, a gray screen loads for about 5 seconds and then the program exits out to the home screen. I still receive text notifications but I can't read incoming text. Or if I slide the banner to read the content of the message, I am taken to the message and it is frozen and exits within 5 seconds. Is there anyway to reset the message app to get it working again?
I have shut off and restarted the phone using the lock screen key.
I have reset the phone using the lock screen key plus home key.
I have tried closing the app by holding the home key for longer than 2 seconds, waited for the message icon to wiggle and exit it.
The app still appears to be frozen.

This same question has been posed across several threads today- did you see a message for Microsoft Software for $10? Is your experience similiar to the one detailed in "Can't access messaging inbox whatsoever after suspicious text message I didn't even open."?

Things that you can try
Uninstall and re-install the applications
1. Go to Settings > Installations > Already installed > Tap and hold the application > Remove.
Restart your phone
1. Switch your phone off
2. Remove the battery.
3. After a few seconds, put the battery in and switch your phone on.
Reset the settings
Restore the original factory settings. Go to Menu > Settings > Restore factory settings > Settings only. If prompted for a lock code use 12345 unless changed. This will not delete any information on your phone but any personalization you've made will restore back to default.
Update the software
Make sure your phone is running the latest software. Use Nokia Suite to perform the software update, you can download the software on this link http://www.nokia.com/global/support/nokia-suite/

All of my downloaded apps will exit out of them, how do I fix this?

The apps I've downloaded will open and close out after a short period of time, I've turned off my location services as suggested but they still do it. I have tons of space left on my iPad so I have no idea how to get them to stop...help please!

Reset slide on exit

I searched throughout the forum but didn't see an answer to this specific question. Working in CP6
I have some simple content slides on which I have two sets of stacked text and image objects. The first set is visible on entry. The user clicks a continue button within the slide to show the second set. Then a back button appears allowing the user to return to the first set.
What I am trying to figure out is how to reset the slide to its opening position when the user clicks Next and exits the slide. I am not running this with a Captivate playhead since the swf is inserted into an LMS.
So, is there a variable I can create for the slide "On Exit" to trigger a reset? I looked throught he cmd variables and don't see one that does that. And I tried just using the same script I have associated with the Back button but that didn't work.

You need to build an Advanced Action that HIDES all the objects that are not supposed to be visible on the slide when it gets launched and SHOWs all the objects that should be visible. Then that AA must be executed On Slide Enter of the slide in question. That way, no matter where your user enters the slide from it will be set up as it should be.

How to activate Radio in Music app when exiting a cellular/wifi deadzone without closing & restarting the app?

I'm using the iPhone 4s with latest version of iOS 7 as of 10/13/13. I access the Music app on the NYC subway (mostly a cellular/wifi deadzone) for my Playlist, but upon exiting the subway station and obtaining a good cellular signal, I do not see the Radio feature. I literally have to shutdown and restart the Music app in order for the Radio feature to slide out from behind the Playlist feature. Even weirder, the Radio feature remains visible if I place the iPhone on Airplane Mode. Go-figure.

There are a lot of applications available at the MarketPlace which will give you the remaining battery time..but keep in mind that these values are calculated based on the immediate use and are just indicative. (e.g. immediately after playing a game which is draining the battery at a fast rate the battery may show 5 hrs. remaining..but after that you don't use the phone for a long time and the remaining battery may show as 12 hrs..)

Reset Launchpad on Exit

I have my Launchpad nice, neat, and organized, with all my apps in folders according to category. The problem is when I open an app from a folder within Launchpad, then return to Launchpad, the folder is still open. Maybe It's just my OCD, but it annoys me, I want it to show me the main layout of all my folders every time I open it. Is there any way to do this?

Reset App Store After Fresh Lion Install?

I recently installed an SSD and did a fresh install of Lion there. I still have my original HDD as a secondary drive, but haven't formatted it yet. When I open the App Store to reinstall all my apps, everything says "Installed." Why does the App Store think everything is still installed, and how do I "reset" the App Store so I can reinstall all of my purchased apps?

Figured out what the problem was, thought I'd answer it and leave this here for posterity. The App Store was seeing the apps on my old HDD. Once I formatted it, the App Store let me reinstall the apps on my new SSD. So the answer was to go ahead and format the HDD.
