Resetting License from Actionscript 3

Hi,
Currently I have a video whose license has a playback window set:

Now when the player gets this license and initiates playback, then the license expiration starts then.  What I want to be able to do is within the player, I want to be able to reset that license, so that I can download a new license and restart the playback window countdown again.
Is this possible?  I tried looking at DRMManager (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/drm/DRMManage r.html), but it doesn't have anything pertaining to resetting/clearing out the license from Actionscript.  The two ways I know how to clear out my license is to do it manually by:
1) http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager08.htm l
or
2) By clearing out the license files/directories.
I would like to be able to clear out a specific license from within the Actionscript 3 environment.

Thanks for the feedback.  Is there a way to specifically set the license expiration date relative to the playback time, so the playback window and the license expiration time are the same?
According to the docs http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashaccess/2.0/javadocs/index.html?com/adobe/flashaccess/sdk/ license/License.html , there's no way to set relative license end date, so it seems very impractical to somehow set it to the same time as when the playback window ends.
To give you some context on what I'm trying to achieve, I'm trying to make it so that a viewer of the media content periodically grabs a new license to watch the content (let's say 24 hours).  This is so that the license server can say at any moment the user cannot grab a new license (let's say we do that 60 days after the content was initially released).  Ideally we would only have to run the media content through the flash packager only once with the proper license variables  (and obtain an encrypted media file and voucher) so that the player can only use a license for 24 hours and continually request updated licenses as they expire.  Is this possible to do this?

    I'm having an issue where when I try to play a video I get the error message:  "There is a problem with your Flash player. Click here, select "Reset License Files", and restart your browser."  The link then takes me to Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Protected Media Settings panel, where I have tried to reset my license files; however, this hasn't fixed the error message.  This only happens when I try to play videos from Google Play.  Other sites are working fines (ex. youtube).  I currently am using Shockwave Flash 15.0.0.189 and am trying to access to video in Firefox (I have also tried both Internet Explorer and Chrome - both have the same issues).  I've also cleared my cache and history and made sure that third party cookies were enabled.  Is there another way to try resetting my license files or another solution to this problem?

    If you reset your prefs and do not change any prefs, it would not make sense that the error should return. Does sound like the permissions for the prefs file are getting changed.
    Did disk utility report any permissions fixed or errors when you ran this?
    Has this happened before the 10.6.6 update posted on Jan 6th, possibility this might be connected?

    I have "creative cloud membership" which includes a single edition DPS already so I have single edition DPS now. I want to build an app using indesign and dps but host it on my own server. Can I do this with my single edition along with my enterprise developer licnese from Apple? Or do I have to buy the enterprise DPS to go along with my enterprise developers license from Apple?

    You will need an Enterprise DPS account along with the Enterprise Apple account. There is nothing ambiguous about this.
    And you really need to read Apple’s license very carefully about private distribution. They are very strict about anything not going through the app strore.

  • "Rough" GIF export from ActionScript 3 files impossible?

    I just upgraded from Flash CS3 to Flash CS5, and I've been playing with the various new features. However, I've just encountered an odd problem that I can't seem to find a solution to.
    In the past, I've made animated GIFs in CS3 by exporting them with the "Smooth" box unchecked. This was really convenient for me because not only could I export crisp pixel bitmaps from Flash, but I could edit it in another program later. I was planning on making some GIF animations via this process with the aid of the bone tool in CS4 and 5.
    When I tried exporting frames of of a figure created with the bone tool in CS5, however, I got images that were fuzzy and often had distorted colors. After some time, I realized that this was because in CS3, I had exported the images from ActionScript 2 files, while the bone tool only works in ActionScript 3 files.
    Is it not possible to export "rough" GIFs from ActionScript 3 files, or is there a trick to doing that that I'm somehow missing?

    I'm sorry for not making it clear in my initial post, but it doesn't matter whether I create an image using the bone tool or not -- any GIF image exported from an AS3 file always has an antialiased appearance, even when the Smooth box is unchecked.
    To show you what I mean, here's a simple GIF image I exported from an AS2 file:
    Notice that all of the lines are simple and pixellated, with no antialiasing at all. This is the kind of GIF I want to export from an AS3 file.
    Now here's the exact same image I exported from an AS3 file, with the exact same export settings:
    As you can see, all of the lines look smoothed, even though I made sure the Smooth box was unchecked.
    Is there anything I can do to correct this problem?

    you can't change the paper size used in client side printer.

    If you bought Windows 8 on a DVD, you can transfer the license from your PC to the MacBook Air, always that you remove Windows 8 from your old PC.
    If Windows 8 came with the PC, you can use that license only with your PC, not with the Mac

    The problem I'm experiencing is that I´m trying to upgrade a Customer's ASA 5505 base license from 10 to 50 users (ASA5505-SW-10-50=). But the reseller sent a ASA5505-SW-50-UL= license instead. I tried to register that license and the following messaged appeared.
    Wrong Sku(s) 'ASA5505-SW-50-UL=' for 'ASA5505-K8' : Device contains following licenses 'ASA5505-SW-10,ASA5500-ENCR-K9'
    Serial Number = JMX1235Z0TZ
    We're sorry, but the new serial number provided is not the same platform type as the failed serial number. An upgrade request is not allowed.

    I tried to contact TAC for assistance but It's not possible because that kind of service is outside the parameters of the service contracts associated with my cisco.com profile.

    I am not sure that I have the correct understanding of your issue. From your description it seems that the reseller has generated the license upgrade for the wrong serial number. I would think you would deal with them to get the serial number corrected.
    I have had some limited success in calling the TAC when I have had an issue with equipment whose serial number/contract number was not associated with my CCO ID. Or it may turn out that you will need to get the customer to add your ID to their contract number.

    If the phone wont turn on it sounds like it needs to be charged.  Plug it into a charger and wait about 15 minutes and try turning it on while still charging. Have you tried holding in your home button with the on/off button held in?  Hold them both together until the apple logo comes up and then release them.  The screen will blink off an on while it is resetting. I still think this is a battery issue. Good luck~

    We purchased some new laptops for certain users, and the old laptops are to be decommissioned. The old laptop for one user has his Acrobat Pro on it. I need to transfer the license from the old system to the new. How may I accomplish this?
    Adobe's help site is infuriatingly useless. I understand I need to open a case with them and we can transfer the license, but the hoops the support site makes me jump through never give me such an option.
    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Hey David,
    You might need to deactivate or uninstall Acrobat from the old laptop and then install it on the new one.
    Also, could you please tell me what OS and Acrobat version you have on the new laptop as you might also need to check Acrobat compatibility with the OS.
