Resetting username password in OS9.1 without a CD drive?

Hello anybody. HELP!
I have been running a ppc7100 with a 450MHZ G4 upgrade for the last 15 years.
I have inadvertantly activated 'multiple user' and now when I boot up its asking me for my user password.... which i forgot about 10 years ago.
I know I could reset this if I could boot from my 9.1 OS disks.
Problem is my CDR drive is broken and I can't boot from a CD.
Anyone know any solutions?
15 years of data inaccessible because of one silly error. AAAgh

It is not necessary to boot to nor otherwise use an OS 9 Install CD in order to clear that problem. If you have the ability to boot to any other volume, such as an external drive, do so. Then go into the Preferences folder in System Folder on your main hard drive, locate the file named Multi-User Prefs and throw it away. Empty the Trash. Then do a normal restart to your internal drive. Trashing that single file will clear all Multiple User password settings and requests.
You may be able to do that by starting with Extensions Off (holding down Shift during booting), but that's doubtful.
You can also try using the Extensions Manager intercept - upon booting, immediately press the spacebar, keep it held down until Extensions Manager opens. If this works (doubtful), Extensions Manager will open just before extensions would normally start to load, at which time you can then disable Multiple Users.

The only way I know how to change a root password is to reboot the filer. I have installed Oracle Audit Vault Server Release 10.2.3.2 in Linux system and collection agent in Windows system. Adding and starting DBAUD collector went fine however adding REDO collector return back errors when executing avorcldb add_collector command as follow

I don't believe if this is missing solution from oracle community. I have decided to installed the collction agent and source database in linux system, so now both auditt vault server and collction agent are running in Linux system (but separately)
I am wondering, avorcldb add_collector -srcname ORCL -agentname avagent01 -colltype DBAUD and avorcldb add_collector -srcname ORCL -agentname avagent01 -colltype OSAUD -orclhome /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1 are working fine and I am able to start these collectors
The avorcldb verify -src Lugaosrv:1521:ORCL.LUGAOSRV -colltype ALL command also return good results

Reset DCM password

The DCM password has been changed in the OracleAS database repository and the dcm process can not started up by opmn.

I have to perform a system copy of Bank analyzer 6, NW7.1, ABAP stack only on AIX 5.3, MCOD oracle 10.2.0.4 DB. I'm arriving to the sapinst parameters screen asking for the securestore key. What is the DB user name sapinst retreives from the securestore ?

Why can't I reset the master password with the option of removing all username:passwords by unchecking "Use Master Password"? Currently, there seems to only be the option to issue a "chrome:" command in URL which DOES reset the master password. However, it was something that I had to google. The intuitive option would be to uncheck the "Use Master Password" checkbox, receive a verification dialogue, and blammo, password reset. Please make this a feature, thank you.

Sorry, for being unclear. Essentially this is a feature request for an option under Firefox options (why not?) to reset my Master Password not knowing the Master Password. For Security reasons I understand why all the saved passwords have to be wiped, but wiping the Master Password (having forgotten it) should be an option without having to issue an arcane command that one has to google to figure out.

Why does the iTunes AppleID system refuse to work properly without the need to reset the password every time I open iTunes for use?

Alright so here is the issue. When I first started using iTunes I created my AppleID. I locked it in to remember my password and authorize my computer so that I would NEVER HAVE TO ENTER IT AGAIN. So years pass, no problem. Then "ITUNES 11" come on everyone lets upgrade or you can't proper use the iTunes Store. Seriously it wouldn't let me access the store. Go Figure. So I upgrade simple right? No. It really isn't when iTunes 11 rolled out it was riddled with minor bugs that made the experience annoying so I did a rollback and live without the store for awhile.
About a year passes and I try again this time upgrading iTunes through a COMPLETE fresh install, again I did what had done the first time I logged my AppleID and reauthorized my computer. Hurrah other than getting use to the new UI it ran perfectly. Yes Finally! Right? Again.... No. No more than 2 or 3 software updates later suddenly my password for my AppleID is incorrect I was like "Okay?" and re-entered it thinking the big update cleared my settings.

I was like okay maybe the user agreement change and we all need to reset passwords and re-accept the EUA. So I go through the process to create a new password successfully and reset my AppleID in iTunes with the new password. Come back a few weeks later it happens again this time I enter my new password and what do I get?

So I first do a repair install to my iTunes than reset my password this time NOT setting it to remember password. Great everything works fine again password even matched my Home CompID so that I could NEVER lose it well come a few days later I try to use the store and what happens?

This has been going on for the better part of 3 years I have almost completely dropped iTunes which has the better store library for Goggle Play Music who's store library isn't even a third the size iTunes has because their system works and my log-in is my e-mail. I repeatedly completely uninstalled iTunes and wiped it from my registry in hope a clean install would fix the problem but it never does.
My OS is Vista Home Premium Edition 32-bit and no picking on my OS I been working to get a new computer but that isn't happening anytime soon so I work with what I got.

Even removing the .xml files doesn't make a difference. Also, I now installed another update of iTunes, but still having the same problem, and this time there are no .xml files or preference files whatsoever in the Application Data and Local Settings\Application Data iTunes folders. It seems like for some reason iTunes is unable to create these. What should I do?

Your old ID connects to an icloud account containing all your data (email, contacts, etc.) If you then use a different ID, you will connect to a different account, which results in losing all your "apple" data, like emails, contacts, calendars, etc.
However, Apple IDs are also used to connect to an itunes store account, with is different. You can keep using the old itunes store ID to keep all your purchases (but if you change to a different ID, you will lose all purchased items) and use the new ID for icloud (but losing emails, contacts, etc. from the old account).

Here's one method to reset the password without the install disc:
1. boot computer and hold the "apple" key and the "s" key.
2. wait for terminal show
3. release keys
4. type without the quotes: "/sbin/mount -uaw"
5. press enter
6. type without the quotes: "rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
7. press enter
8. type without the quotes: "reboot"
9. press enter
This will let you create a new admin account when you reboot your computer.

Here is a way to get around not knowing the admin password on Macs.
To reset your OS X password without an OS X CD you need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:
   1. Reboot
   2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
   3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
          * mount -uw /
          * rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
          * shutdown -h now
   4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and you’re good to go again!

Reset Password
Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
Wait until OS X Utilities window shows up.
Move the mouse pointer to the menubar at the top and click "Utilities", then select "Terminal"
from the drop down.
Terminal window will appear.
Type in resetpassword and press enter on the keyboard.
Leave the Terminal window open.
Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
Select the user account from the popup menu box under “Select user account”.
Enter a new password.
Reenter the new password for the user.
Enter a hint.
Click the "Save" button.
Click  in the menubar and select Restart.
Log in.
If Keychain dialog box appears, select “Create New Keychain”.

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

If you are talking about your Apple ID password, make sure it IS your apple ID.
In the past 24 hours, I have received two emails "How to reset your Apple ID password". I had not requested any change and I finally realized someone else is trying to reset the password. I have had this Apple ID since 2009 so I am not using someone else's ID.
Again, if you are not receiving the email to reset make sure you have the right ID - it might be going to the email linked to the account, and it might not be yours.
