If you are talking about your Apple ID password, make sure it IS your apple ID.
In the past 24 hours, I have received two emails "How to reset your Apple ID password". I had not requested any change and I finally realized someone else is trying to reset the password. I have had this Apple ID since 2009 so I am not using someone else's ID.
Again, if you are not receiving the email to reset make sure you have the right ID - it might be going to the email linked to the account, and it might not be yours.

Have you yet, during setting up the new iMac, transferred old data and settings from an external hard drive or another computer? If so, then your computer obtained its current set Password from that tranfer, so you would have to determine what that Password was in the old system. If you have Not transferred any information that way, then the installation and/or setup seem to have corrupted somehow since it hasn't yet received a new system Password selection from you.
At this point, if you can, you can reboot while holding down the Command - R keys to boot into the Mountain Lion Recovery Partition. There you can select to "Reinstall Mountain Lion from the Internet". This will overwrite your current installation and any problems that have occured and give you a fresh install that hopefullywill allow you to set up without problems. -
My email is valid and I know this because I am receiving other email from Apple and this is the only email I have not been able to recieve. please help
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

Are you signed into this old ID ("email") in System Preferences>iCloud, System Preferences>Internet Accounts (Mail,Contacts,Calendars), or in Mail>Accounts, Calendar>Accounts or Contacts>Accounts?

I was trying to update my Security Questions this morning but got 'Timed Out' I've just tried again to get into my security settings but the system does not recognise the information I'm putting in. Can anyone tell me how I can correct this problem. I can still log-in.

You might try to see if you can change your security questions. Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account > Password and Security.
I'm able to do this, others say they need to input answers to their current security questions in order to make changes, I'm inclined to think its worth a try, you don't have anything to lose.
If that doesn't help you might try contacting Apple through Express Lane (select your country, navigate to iCloud help and enter the serial number of one of your devices) -

This is a user-to-user forum and no-one on here can take any direct action. If your Yahoo address is not working that's something you would need to take up with Yahoo - have you checked it by sending yourself an email to it?
Otherwise you will need to contact Support: go to https://expresslane.apple.com/ and click on 'iTunes' in the center column and then 'iTunes Store' in the right-hand column and proceed from there. -

You do not need to "sign up" for downloading updates. Just run Software Update and let it access them directly thru the App Store.

I am using iphone 4, and upgraded the system to IOS6 already. but I found I could not send test message to UK and US, I could call phone number in UK or US successfully. Could someone to help me to fix up this issue. I guess the problem probably came from the format of UK or US phone number in my Iphone address book. Due there is some blank space between the phone number for iphone phone number format. I ever try andro phone, no blank space there, so could send test message to UK and UK without problem.

When Trying to download applications from the itunes store, I receive a message that my Apple Id has been disabled. I reset my password, accessed my Itunes Account successfully, but when trying to download, the same message appears.
