Resolving oracle/xml classes

I am running Oracle8.1.7 on a Windows 2000 PC and have developed an application using java1.2.2 that makes use of oracle/xml/sql/query/OracleXMLQuery
My problem is that when deploying the application into Oracle DB I get the following error:
resolving: METER001/dbAccess
errors : METER001/dbAccess
ORA-29521: referenced name oracle/xml/sql/query/OracleXMLQuery could not be found
resolving: METER001/Class1
At first I thought the problem was due to different java versions and I did a loadjava with XSU12.jar, but I still get the same error. If I connect to database using browser integrated into JDEV3.2.3 as user level used for deploying application I can view oracle/xml/sql/query/OracleXMLQuery under the SYS schema and can see the correct class with correct parameters.
I did have this working before, but after setting up a new machine (same software) while remembering the problem I can't remember how I corrected it.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have just tried something else that makes even less sense to me. I logged on with sql as SYS and ran sql query:
select status, object_name from all_objects where owner='SYS' and object_type='JAVA CLASS' and object_name like 'oracle/xml/sql%'
The results I obtained did not agree with what I could view with jdev database browser.
Why whould these be different?

Do you mean you use 8.1.5? You can't directly load the xmlparserv2.jar to it.

Thanks lot for the quick response.
I have copied the sqljdbc.jar file to the ThirdParty folder and restarted in App server. Now that the earlier error "The target database JDBC driver class cannot be loaded" is not appearing while provisioning in the rejected task.
    I am getting a new error "GCPROV.ProvTransportProvider.DBProvisioningTransport.DB_GET_CONNECTION_ERROR".
Can you please let me know the reason for this. All the connections parameters are correct to connect to the target databse.

  • Oracle XSU class oracle.xml.sql.dataset.OracleXMLDataSetExtJdbc bug

    Hi,
The oracle class oracle.xml.sql.dataset.OracleXMLDataSetExtJdbc needlessly casts the java.sql.Connection it receives in its constructor to oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection.
This will work fine in most circumstances, but throws a class cast exception when a proxified connection is used such that the connection is a wrapper rather than an instance of OracleConnection.
I believe there would be absolutely no need for the oracle class to cast the connection to its derived form.
Please correct this problem in the XSU as soon as possible.
    Thanks in advance,
    -- Dave Campbell

Yes, of course I have. If you carefully see my first post, you will notice that I get an
'ORA-00904: invalid column name' error when I - in purpose - use an invalid Query, which means that communication with Oracle DB is fine. The problem appears when my Query does return some results. It's really confusing me...
    Any other ideas?
    thanks!

  • Where are classes for oracle.xml.parser.v2?

I have downloaded both V1 and V2 of the XML parser. I have managed to download the java classes under org.w3c.dom from www.w3.org but I can't find the classes under oracle.xml.parser.v2 (or without v2) anyway on technet. Both are required for import.
I would have expected them to be in the ZIP files xmlparser_v1_0_2_0.zip and xmlparser_v2_0_2_7.zip but they don't seem to be. These contain the equivalent HTML files but not the class files themselves, so compiling the samples is not possible.
Any help would be appreciated as this is becoming very frustrating.

  • XSQL-022: Cannot load serializer class oracle.xml.xsql.serializers.fop203

    Hi,
I' have used Tomcat 4.0.3 with XSQL Servlet 9.2 for about a half year. All is working fine. When I now change to 4.1.18 the most things are also working fine. The are to problems:
    1. I have to save the XSQLConfig.xml in a jar file.
    2. My fop serializer doesn't work any longer. I'm getting all the time the following error: XSQL-022: Cannot load serializer class oracle.xml.xsql.serializers.fop203.
I'm using the XDK 9.2.0.4 with jsdk 1.4.1 and tomcat 4.1.18 on Redhat Linux.
Has anyone had have the same problem? Has anyone a solution for this problem?
    Regards
    Uwe

Does the XSQLSampleSerializer exhibit the same problem?
That is, can we rule out the fact that it's related at all to FOP?
If you browse the following page, does it work?
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <?xml-stylesheet serializer="java:oracle.xml.xsql.serializers.XSQLSampleSerializer"?>
<foo-with-java/>This sample serializer should be in your xsqlserializers.jar file.

  • SOAP  oracle xml sql utility class definition not found error

I have created a java class that connects to database using JDBC runs an sql statement and produces xml using Oracle XML SQL Utility class. Can anyone help please.

Sounds like you have not included the xsu12.jar file in the server-side CLASSPATH.
This depends also on the xmlparserv2.jar and on the Oracle JDBC driver. Later versions
of XSU may also depend on the xdb.jar file, too.

    first thanks for your reply,
i already figured that out and deployed it using 10.1.3.1 jars
    my question
    1) if it is a bug , how come it works fine with jdeveloper (
i would appreciate if you could provide any info about it.
    2) i dont want to sound sarcastic , but 10.1.3.1 has of optimistic locking and the recommended solution i found was to use descriptor.getQueryManager().setUpdateCallCacheSize(0);
looks like 10.1.3.1 fixed one bug and introduced other one which was working fine earlier...
is there any other way of fixing optimistic locking issue other than using the
    descriptor.getQueryManager().setUpdateCallCacheSize(0);
where i can find the latest/greatest (up to date patched version of toplink)

  • Oracle.xml.parser.v2.XSLException: XSL-1045

I'm trying to migrate from 8.1.6 to 8.1.7. In 8.1.6, I have a working java stored procedure that implements an extended namespace in XSL. I deployed the same working code in 8.1.7 and got the following error.
    processor.processXSL(styleSheet,xmlDoc)>>
    oracle.xml.parser.v2.XSLException: XSL-1045:
Extension function error: Class not found 'com/redknife/util/xslExtend'
The xslExtend class is loaded via loadjava and resolves with no errors. Is there a difference between the 8.1.6 implementation and 8.1.7?
    - Craig

I've recreated the database and the instance...I've loaded all the classes and they are valid... The exact code set works in 8.1.6 but not in 8.1.7.
Here lies the difference. In 8.1.6, I loaded the xmlparserv2.jar, but hoping for the natively compiled version being preloaded in 8.1.7, I did not load it. The error then occurs. I did a dropjava on the xmlparserv2.jar, and then a loadjava, and now it works.
My assumption is that it was the natively compiled xml parser that made the difference. Once I removed it, and replaced it with byte code, everything worked.
    Hope I'm wrong... Craig

  • ANN: Oracle XML Parser for Java v2.0.0.1

A new maintenance release of the Oracle Parser for Java is
available for download. It has the following fixes and changes:
Bug fixes for #920536, i.e. Cannot access element attributes via
    XSLT; #898423. i.e. ElementDecl's in DTDs; #774774, i.e. DOM

New APIs in the following new interface:
    1. oracle.xml.parser.v2.NSResolver
    - resolveNamespacePrefix( find the namespace definition in scope
for a given namespace prefix )
New APIs in the following classes:
    1. oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLNode
    - selectNodes( Selects nodes from the tree which match the given
pattern; client can provide an NSResolver implementation to
resolve namespace prefixes in the pattern ).

  • Which jar is oracle.xml.util.XMLException in?

I am trying to resolve a NoClassDefFoundError for the oracle.xml.util.XMLException class. I believe that this class might be used internally by the parser. Does anyone know which jar this class is in? thanks.

Thanks for the response. The problem was solved when I found that I was compiling with one of the 9.0.x beta jars and then attempting to run with the production 9.x version. This oracle.xml.util package was in the beta jar and not in the production version, giving the NoClassDefFoundError.
