Respiratory rate
Hi,
I have a data acquisition vi. I dislay respiration signals and trying to calculate respiratory rate per minute. In order to calculate RPM(respiratory perminute) I’ve used a threshold peak detector. I calculate the difference of the index of the first peak and the index of the second peak,the result generates the number of total samples between two consecutive counts. To count respiratory rate I divided the sample rate by the number of samples per breathing.Then I’ve multipiled the result by 60 to generate RPM.
I ‘ve put the width value for the threshold detector 30.
You can see the frontpanel of my vi and diagram as attachment.
The problem is everything is ok while fast breathing however, while breathing slowly the difference of the index of the first peak and the index of the second peak(you can see in the front panel as x-y ) is negative. Thus the RPM is negative.Also the RPM values lower than 30 is always negative.
What should I do?

After doing some analysis, this approach helps some, but maybe not enough to help you.
Essentially the Hilbert Transform does the following. Perform an FFT on your signal, negate the negative frequency values and perform an inverse FFT to get back to the time domain. This relates and even signal to its corresponding odd counterpart (i.e. the Hilbert transform of a cosine signal is a sine signal and vice versa).
Here is a procedure that works for the simulated data that I have.
1. Subtract the value of the first point of data from all of your data to make your first point equal to zero.
2. Use a Butterwork Filter (filter type = Bandpass, order = 2, fh = .1, fl = 0.005) to filter your data (Advanced Analysis->Filters).
3. Use the Derivative function to take the derivative of your data (Advanced Analysis -> Time Domain)
4. Use the Peak Detect function to capture the peaks (Advanced Analysis -> Time Domain)
This will hopefully enhance the peaks in your respiration data making it easier to capture them with the peak detection function.
If you have data you can send me to work with I can see if it works well. I am using LabVIEW 7.1 so I will attach a JPG of the code.

Go to Solution.As you were advised in your other thread, nearly any DAQ device will probably be adequate for your purpose.
You will need a device with an analog to digital converter. The resolution of the converter can probably be anything from 8 bits or more. You will need hardware timed conversion of at least 100 samples per second; 1000 samples per second might be better. The USB-6008/6009 devices can meet these requirements.
Extracting the respiratory rate modulation can be a challenge, depending on how much interference may exist on the signals. Search for Heart Rate Variability and similar terms to find what others have done.
There is also a Bio-medical board with participants who may have similar interests.

Report for Planned vs Purchase Order(Qty and rate)

I have the following issue. My client is raising Purchasing requisition and Purchase Orders in Me51N and ME21n respectively. The Project Structure is used only to plan the quantities and rates whereas no PR is released from it. But the components are attached. Now if i make use of the code CN52N, i am getting the planned quantity and unit rate for the planned value whereas no Purchase requisition number or purchase order number is updated in it.
My requirement is that both planned quantity, rate along with Purchase order quantity and rate should be available in a report.
1. Is there any setting that we can make so that the details are updated in cn52N (or)
2. is there any other report with those details (or)
3. Should that be achived only through ABAP.
Please suggest.
RaghavThere are a few reports that you can use to display STO requisitions and orders, by supplying plant, material, or MD04 like was mentioned.
The only thing that you don't have in a report is the link to the production order. In SAP in a MTS situation there's no fixed link (pegging) between the requirement (STO) and the supply (prod Ord).
You can view the pegging dynamically, for example in MD04.

Creating a Gif is different frame rate
If I have an uncompressed .AVI file that I created in After Effects CS5.5 which is 23.976 fps, and load it in Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5, and tell it to create a .GIF of it, at an output fps of 23.976, when I load the created .GIF into Adobe After Effects it tells me the frame rate is 25 fps and there is a black frame padded on the end. I want the frame rate of the GIF to be what I ask it to be, ie. 23.976, with no additional black frames.
Here's what happened with screenshots:
1. I load the uncompressed AVI file that was created in Adobe After Effects CS5.5 into Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5. Note below that Adobe Media Encoder is saying that the source clip is 23.976 fps, and that the export settings are to create an animated GIF at 23.976 fps.
2. After Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5 has said "done" (Encoding Completed Succesfully) for this export to a .GIF, if I take that .GIF file that Adobe Media Encoder has just created into Adobe After Effects CS5.5, this is what it says:
As can be seen above, Adobe After Effects CS5.5 is saying the GIF file that Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5 has just encoded is actually 25 fps, not 23.976 fps like I told it to be exported as. Also, the GIF Adobe Media Encoder has created is 10 frames long, whereas my original uncompressed AVI is 9 frames long.
Edit: I've just been reading up on the GIF format and it seems it doesn't store a frame rate but instead stores a frame delay, which is in hundredths of a second. If this is just an integer, is this the reason for the displayed frame rate discrepancy, ie. 1 frame at 23.976 fps would be 4.1708 hundredths of a second I think, and 1 frame at 25 fps would be 4 hundredths of a second I think - both rounded to the nearest integer would be 4 hundredths of a second so would the frame delay be set to "4" for both 23.976 fps and 25 fps? (there is also the fact that some short time will be taken for the drawing of the frame)
Though even with the above, it shouldn't be increasing the amount of output frames. It converts it correctly (no additional frames) if I use VirtualDub to convert the AVI to GIF instead of Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5.Thanks. Could you get them to also check other parts of the code too. eg. when I had a work area set in Adobe After Effects CS5.5 and then loaded that project into Adobe Media Encoder (dynamic link etc.) and rendered just the work area I think it was about a frame out then too - I don't think it was a GIF in that case but another type (maybe AVI/H264).

I am creating a report for displaying the open sales order values (and other fields) using current currency rate (where applicable). I developed the below query. The only problem with this query is that it ignores the order rows in which the currency field is blank (Don't understand why this happens in SAP). Do you have other ideas?

How to find the max data transfer rate(disk speed) supported by mobo?
I plan on replacing my current HDD with a new and bigger HDD.
For this I need to know the max data transfer rate(disk speed) that my mobo will support. However, dmidecode is not telling me that. Am I missing something?

So I guess, when I get the new HDD, I will first set it to AHCI and then install the OSes on it. See if NCQ helps any, and if not I will turn it back and re-install (if I have to). I am planning to have Windows only in virtualbox in the new drive.
Anyhoo, while I was in the BIOS I found two things which I had questions about :
1) Under Onboard Devices --> Integrated NIC , my setting is currently set at "On w/PXE" and it says the default should be just "On". Would it be ok to change it back to On since its a single machine and its not booting an OS on any server. I just don't want to have to re-install anything now since I will be doing that in the new HDD.
2) How would I know whether my BIOS would support a 64 bit OS in Virtualbox? I checked some setting under Virtualization, but they weren't very clear.

GR/IRclearing in MR11 in case of exchange rate difference
Hi Gurus,
My client has got one issue on GR/IR clearing thru MR11.
There is one PO with IR happend first( lets say on 01/01/2008) and then GR on 15/01/2008 . on the same day of GR , there is Goods return ( 15/01/2008) for complete good receitpt. Credit memo posted in next posting period ( ex. 02/02/2008) . As it is posted in different period there is exchange rate diffenence between Invoice and credit return. So when user is doing MR11 the system saying there is inconsistency for the difference amount. Thats the reason we could not able to clear that PO.
I need advice to clear the above PO in MR11.

How to restrict manual change to exchange rate.

Requirement:
Our requirement is we want to control the manual exchange rate entry(user type or otherwise) at different form e.g. AP Invoice screen,AR Invoice,GL JV.
What ever the rate defined pops up,should only be used for transactions and no scope should be given to user to change the rate.
Process:
Our process is that We have a boundary system and we manually enter the rates daily and upload to Oracle Application by running a program interfaced with the boundary system.The rates fetched from the boundary system sits in daily rate form as spot rate.
The profile option "AR: Default Exchange Rate Type" has value "spot".
Similarly in payable option the rate given as "spot".
Solution provided by our consultant:
We have Below clarification from the consultant Oracle team on controlling who can enter exchange rates manually vs who can not.
Pls see response for both sub ledger and general ledger transactions. An ability to limit manual exchange rate entry & view is, therefore, available in Oracle.
In Oracle, the transactions are created in subledgers and manual journals are created in General Ledger.The defaulting of exchange rate type is done separately for different subledgers. For General Ledger (creating manual journals) the control is separate.
1)For transactions originating in subledgers , for eg.Accounts Receivable, the name of the profile option is "AR: Default Exchange Rate Type" and looking at your requirement, this should be set at "Corporate" and not "User" or "Spot". Setting it at Corporate, will make the application look at the predefined corporate rates. Similarly for transactions (invoices/payments) in Accounts Payable, the defaulting can be configured through payable options.
2)For manual journals , the defaulting of exchange rate type is controlled separately. This can also be secured by definition access set which will prevent unauthorized changes to rate type.
Questions:
1.Can we take their suggest given our process that changing the rate to corporate will restrict manual intervention of the user.
2.whether definition access set feature available in 11.5.10.2 and if so how can we configure.
3.What is the best way to restrict user from manual intervention.Hello.
For the mentioned forms, you can use Forms Personalization to force users to use a certain type(s) of exchange rate.

In Quantity tab - System is showing Qty in Unit of Entry, Qty in SKU, Qty in Delivery Note, Quantity Ordered, alongwith these fields we also want display of Purchase order rate/each of that line item.

I have searched in the forum and made sure that in transaction OB08 Exchange Rate EUR/US and USD/EUR (Exchange Rate Type M) has maintained properly in the system.
I have also made sure that the entries are properly maintained in SPRO - General Settings - Currencies - Define Translation Ratios for Currency Translation.
But still the error is coming, I saw in one thread, some one has reported the same problem even after maintaining the exchange rates in OB08, but no solution was suggested as far as I check. could anyone please give some inputs why the same error coming even though the exchange rates are maintained and how to fix this issue as I stuck in Post Goods Issue step

While doing Post Goods Issue in other scenario I didnt have any error where currency GBP EUR invovled. In this case the OBBS entries EUR/GBP as below

Alaternative currency is blank in this case as well.
Does the valid from date or the ratio make any difference?

Exchange rate determination at time of Good Reciept
My client has a manufacturing operations in Venezuela. They regularly import production materials as well as supplies etc. to run the business. The Venezuelan government defines the exchange rate on different types of purchases against the US Dollar.
When the goods are purchased the exchange rate is not known. The Exchange rate has to be applied to the transaction at the time of goods receipt. The exchange rate will be different for different types of purchases. For example: Raw materials are 2.6 Bs per dollar, Supplies are 4.3 Bs per dollar and all other purchases are at the rate of 5.3 Bs per dollar. The exchange rate must be entered correctly at the time of entering the Goods Receipt.
The exchange rates are controlled by the government and stay static for a certain amount of time, but can be changed with little notice by the Organization in control.
Has anyone on a global SAP implementation or who has worked locally in Venezuela encountered this in the past?

If the price control is V, there is no issues. When you make a goods inwards, the rate will be picked on that date and update the price difference to material value itself. Ensure, that correct rate updated before making the GR.

You can determine that frame rate by making short test videos and watching it in QT Player.
The QT "Inspector" window will show you the frame rate for the clip.
