Exchange rate determination at time of Good Reciept

My client has a manufacturing operations in Venezuela.   They regularly import production materials as well as supplies etc. to run the business.  The Venezuelan government defines the exchange rate on different types of purchases against the US Dollar.
When the goods are purchased the exchange rate is not known.  The Exchange rate has to be applied to the transaction at the time of goods receipt.  The exchange rate will be different for different types of purchases.  For example:  Raw materials are 2.6 Bs per dollar, Supplies are 4.3 Bs per dollar and all other purchases are at the rate of 5.3 Bs per dollar.  The exchange rate must be entered correctly at the time of entering the Goods Receipt.
The exchange rates are controlled by the government and stay static for a certain amount of time, but can be changed with little notice by the Organization in control.
Has anyone on a global SAP implementation or who has worked locally in Venezuela encountered this in the past?
If so, how have you handled it in the system?

Hi,
If the price control is V, there is no issues.  When you make a goods inwards, the rate will be picked on that date and update the price difference to material value itself.  Ensure, that correct rate updated before making the GR.

  • Batch Determination in time of Goods Issue

    Hi,
    We are doing internally numbered Batches. We got 4 btches say A- 10kg,B- 10Kg,  C- 10Kg, D- 10kg.
I want to issue 30kg, at this time I want to select Batches automatically by the system which has stock thru FIFO. So that system will create 3 lines aautomatically & select batch accordingly. Is it possible.
I saw Batch determinationin SPRO. I did all settings. consider, table, access sequence, procedure. Then make condition in MBC1 for movt. type, plant, material combination.
When I am making isuue thru MB1A , it is not picking. How to do it ?
RegardsBatch Determination in time of Goods Issue

    Hi
Batch determination will not be able to determine 3 lines.
If you enter three lines in MB1A then batches will be determined based on FIFO method.
System cannot by itslef create three lines of 10.
If the same was for any automatic movement such as GI for sales order then this may be possible.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Exchange Rate determination

    Hello Friends,
We have one business requirement related to Exchange rate determination in billing document, and the requirement is -
We have more than 100 company codes across global, in that for particular company codes example A001 (France), A002 (Malaysia) the exchange rate in billing document needs to determine as daily exchange rate which is different from average monthly exchange rate.  This rate is only applicable for billing document but nor for any inventory or financial (other than AR) or any other.  It means at the company code level, busienss wants to maintain average exchange rate which is needed for other FI postings as explained.
Hence the requirement is, in the billing document I need to determine daily exchange rate instead of averate monthe exchange for revenue postings, and the exchange type for daily exchange is "D".
Is there any standard approach where I can able to determine daily exchange instead of averate monthly....
    Thanks to share your inputs
    Best Regards,
    Goutham

I need to determine daily exchange rate instead of averate monthe exchange
the exchange type for daily exchange is "D".
I never come across this requirement and also on your second comment, I doubt whether in standard, one could see the exchange rate type "D" and I am unable to confirm this as I dont have access to SAP right now.  Nevertheless, what I would suggest is that you can create a new exchange rate type in OBO7 and maintain a daily exchange rates in OBO8.  Hope this should work.
    thanks

  • Automatic Batch determination at time of Goods receipt for production order

    Hi SAP experts,
Greetings to you all. I wish to ask a query that how batch is determined automatically at the time of goods receipt for production order .
I have done the following settings:
1.Specified batch level at material level
    2.External batch number assignment
    3.Defined production order condition table '501' (plant/material)
4.Defined production order access sequence (order type-plant -material)
    5.Defined Production Order Strategy type.
6.Defined Batch search procedure in Production Order.
7.Assigned Batch search procedure to Production order type for a particular plant  , batch check not activated.
Please let me know of any more settings to be checked for the same.
For example, a production order is being confirmed for a quatity of 5 nos . at a time . However, the GI movement (261 movement type) for the production order components  is taking place for 1 EA qty. from 5 different batches.
So now, how the system will define the GR (movement type 101) for the production order header material for the qty. 5 nos. EA ?
It is desired that the system should do GR for the qty.  1 EA of the header material for the 5 different batches (batches which were automatically deteremined for the Goods issue of the components).
    Thanks in advance. good day.
    Best regards,
    RB

    HI Rahul,
As explained earlier, for e.g., if the GR is taking place for the production order for qty. 5 nos. , and in that , if the component qty. is 1 EA for 1EA of header material ; then , the GR for the header material should take place for the same different batches from which the order components were issued for the order and not for the other batches in stock for the header material as well as components.
I am not sure if i understand your requirement 100%.
But let me explain you standard behaviour.
When Confirmation for production order happens and GR is posted during confirmation , All the GR happens agaist same batch number which i sassigned in production order assignment screen.
So for all the order qty single batch would be fixed. Say batch A1 is created for Header material for 100 qty.
Now during components issue to production order, If 100 qty needs to be issued for compoenent B it is possible to use multiple batches of componenets ( using splilt batch functionality /or manual batch number entry agaist componenet in goods movement screen) but header batch remains the same.

  • Exchange rate determination on Billing Date

    Hello,
We have a problem with respect to exchange rate re-
determination - on billing date at the invoice level.
Currently in our system the Exchange rate is being determined on the
pricing date at the sales order level. When we create the invoice the
exchange rate at the header level (VBRK-KURRF) is getting re-determined
    on the billing date.
However the problem is the exchange rate at the item level (VBRP-KURSK)
& exchange rate with respect to amount currency level (KOMV-KKURS).
In order to re-determine exchange rates at item level (KOMV-KKURS) - we have done the
configuration for exchange rate type field in Copy control settings at
    VTFL/VTFA should be u201CCu201D.
But however, the system is determining the pricing exchange rate (KOMV-KKURS) on the pricing date, and not on the billing date.
We have also applied the note 92613. In spite of making the changes the pricing date is not being re-
determined to u201Cbilling dateu201D for exchange rate calculation at conditioncurrency level.
Can you please let us know, how can we have the pricing exchange rate (KOMV-KKURS), be determined on the billing date and not on the pricing date. Do we have a configuration for this? Or is some change in any user exit is required. Please suggest.
    Best Regards,
    Priya Gor.

    Hi All,
I am having the same kind of issue.
My requirement is if the condition currency is different than Document currency (which is also local currency) the system should re-determine the exchange rate in billing as per current date.
Could you please suggest me how KOMV-KKURS will be redetermined in billing as per current date?
As you know copy control TVCPFLP-PFKUR filed will be applicable for VBRP-KURSK but for my requirement it is not needed.
Is there any copying requirement required or any user exit in Billing document ?
Please share if anyone having any info for this.
    Thanks
    Amar

  • Asking Exchange rate at the time of Customer aging report

    Dear All,
I am facing one problem, when I am asking customer aging report the system is asking to enter exchange rate.but at the time of vendor aging is working fine does not asking any exchange rate, this problem happens only one specific  user, not for other users.
In other users it is working fine.Do we need to do any configuration for that user for working this customer aging report.
Please give solution as soon as possible
    Thanks advance.
    Regards
    Komanduri.

We faced the same problem today.
Finally, we found out the user accidentally selected the currency which we didn't set the exchange rate in the aging report.
After the aging report is generated, we can change the currency in the upper left corner.
If we didn't set the rate of that currency, it will keep asking.
Even if we close the aging report and open again, it  will still ask for that currency before it could generate the report
When we set the rate of that currency, it will not ask exchange rate again

  • EURO Conversion (SK) - Condition currency - exchange rate determination

    Hi All,
After EURO conversion in Slovakia, in SD we faced the following issue:
SK Sales Org. sells products, services to HU.
The document currency is HUF, the sales org. curreny is EUR.
The condition currency is EUR, the condition value is in HUF. (It isanual condition. KOMV-KSTEU = C)
During condition value determination system reads EUR/HUF exchage rate - direct reading, instead of HUF/EUR.
I found in note 123298 that is SAP standard operation, because in case of EURO system reads direct exchage rate.
Is there any experince regarding similar EURO conversation problem? Client would prefer indirect HUF/EUR exchage rate reading. (The reason is simple. It has affiliates in HU as well and there is slight differEnce between HUF/EUR and EUR/HUF.)
(Exchage rate type 'M' is configured as inverse.)
All hits & tips are appriciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rgds,
    Anett

    Hello Srinath & Lakshmipathi,
I tested the indirect quote as well. The result is the same, system applies EUR /HUF exchange rate.
I think the background is the following logic:
    - company currency: EUR
    - document currency: HUF
    - condition currency: EUR again.
I debugged, pricing determination, the local and foreign currency is the same, moreover it is hardcoded that in case of EUR it is a direct reading in program LV61ATOP, direct read in case of EURO s hardcoded.
I clarify the alternatives with the clients, after coming back to share info, and continue or closing this issue.
    I really appriciate your support.

  • Frieght Incurred at the time of Good reciept but accounted separately in FI

    Hi,
<b>I have the following scenario. Can you please through some light on this:</b>
We have received raw material from vendor and accounted.
I have also incurred Frieght and accounted only in FI.
It has not come from either MIGO or MIRO.
But we want to include these frieght costs in product costing.
How to include these frieght costs in product costing in case of make to stock scenario.
    Regards,
    Haribabu

    Hi Hari
As a general accting principles, freight should be part of inventory.  Moreover i dont see a possibility to include the freight cost booked separately in PC.

  • Manual Price Conditions doesn't determine the new exchange rate in billing

    Hallo People
We are using TAXBRJ in our company and sometimes is used a manual condition to determinate a price. The process is a exportation and is used exchange rate USD to BRL . When we create a billing (VF01) with copy of delivery the exchange rate dosen't update with the rate of the day.
We made the following analyses :
    - For Automatic Conditions the redetermination(update) of exchange rate is updated correctly, don't have problems.
    - On the copy control delivery to billing, the exchange rate determination was set to carry the date of the day on PricingExchRate type  (Type E "Exchange rate determination according to current date" because that the automatic conditions work correctly).
    - I was tried change the copy control to pick the billing date ( Type C "Exchange rate determination according to billing date", but doesn't work. In the category item we put  the Pricing dategual like billing date, but doesn't work too.
    - In the first VF01 display we put manually the pricing date but to manual condition doesn't work.
I found just one note about copy condittion to billing and exchange rate, but this note is only for sap 4.7, and we sap version is 6.0.
I'd like to confirm if to manual conditions will haven't the redetermination of exchange rate on the billing, and I'd like to know if exist some note about this; Or I will have to make some development to redeterminate this rate?
    Thanks,
    Henrique.

Hi, Thanks for yours reply !!
The field where the problem happened is KOMV-KKURS, and the system is proposing the exchange rate according to M. As I said, the problem just occur when a Price is entered manually is sales order. When we make the VF01, to others conditions carry the new tax rate in KOMV-KKURS is update normally, just to this manual condition don't work.
The note that I mentioned on my last thread was 97487, but will not resolve the problem.
I think that if I am using in copy control on PricingExchRatetype like Type E "Exchange rate determination according to current dateu201D should work with any condition.
When I changed the copy control on PricingExchRate type to C like show note 92613 the process don't work too.
The currency of document is BRL, just the price is typed as USD.
    Att,

  • Exchange rate difference in GR & IR

    Hi experts,
I am using " V" price control for imported goods. Many times exchange rate at the time of IR is different from GR.
So, while posting vendor invoice (i.e. MIRO) exchange rate difference is posted to Exchange rate diff A/C (KDM account) only if stock quantity (book inventory quantity) is smaller than IR quantity or "zero".  Otherwise this exchange difference is posted to "stock account" (if stock is available).
At the time of MIRO, I want every exchage rate difference to  be posted to Exchange rate diff a/c (KDM account) regardless of stock quantity and price procedure (V or S).
How to do this? Pls help me out. Thanks in advance
    regards
    jai

    Hi,
When an invoice relating to a purchase order is posted with a different exchange rate to that of the goods receipt exchange rate; the differences arisen for the open items will be posted to the transaction/ event key 'KDM' in the case of Standard price control "S" automatically.
And, incase of Moving Average Price control "V", you need to take care that stock is undercoverage/shortage, to trigger KDM.
    Regards,
    Narayana.

  • Exchange rate difference in SAP MM

    Hi experts,
Is there any way to bring the exchange rate difference at time of invoice to some other account rather than stock account.
    The scenario is; for eg.
    in PO :   1 USD = 50 INR
    @ GRN 1 UDS = 55 INR
    @ INV    1 USD = 60 INR
At the GRN, inventory will be updated with 55 INR.
At the INV, system will value vendor at 60 INR, but in Standard SAP, the difference of 5 INR will be updated as below.
    1.  exchange rate diff. will be posted to stock account if available stock qty is >= invoice quantity
    2.  exchange rate diff. will be posted to exchange rate diff acct (as per KDM) ,if available stock qty is 0
    3.  exchange rate diff. will be posted propotionately to stock account and exchange rate diff acct (as per KDM) ,if available stock qty is <  invoice quantity
Is there any way, that system will post the exchange rate difference to separate account , rather than inventory.
It is because in client audit, the audit concern say, according to Indian standards, inventory should be valuated only one time in imports. In case of any differences, it should post to separate account and not inventory. They say SAP allows that. Client asked us the same.
I have checked, OMRW, but even after giving 'N' in ERD setting, system is posting to stock account only.
    Any way to meet this??
    Regards
    sBk

    Dear Sujith,
Exchange rate differences for a moving average price material will be
posted to the stock account, provide there is sufficient stock coverage.
Transaction OLMR -> Incoming invoice -> Configure how exchange rate
    difference are treated.
If you set this selection field then the settings in the ERD Setting
column for this currency type are no longer relevant. The system
calculates and posts exchange rate differences between order-related
goods receipts and invoices not just for materials with standard price,
    but also for:
    * Materials with moving average price
    * Account-assigned transactions
    * Planned delivery costs
Because of this setting the exchange rate differences are posted to KDM
account  instead of stock (BSX) or price difference (PRD) account
If you uncheck the field, exchange rate differences will be posted to
the stock or price difference account, for a moving average price
material, based on the stock coverage.
Please refer Sap note  980402 in detail

    lalita

  • Exchange Rate Billing documents

    Dear Friends,
In SAP billing process; I am facing the problem with the exchange rate. as the rates picked in the sales order as default exchange rates maintained for the day; if the sales order is MTO and goods will dispatched after 2 months and within these 2 month the exchange rate got floated by a large amount and during the billing with VF01 t-code; the exchange rate will be something else; and I canu2019t change it at that instance also.
The billing document will be posted to the accounting after getting the money from the customer and the exchange rate will become something else at this moment also; and make a large difference of amount at this instance. Is there is any provision in sap system so that I can change the exchange rate in the billing document and with this same exchange rate I can post the entries in accounting also. It will solve the problem as it will give me the billing amount in exact LC amount also.
Please provide the solution for the same.
    Kraheja

    Good Afternoon,
In the billing document there are 3 exchange rates, please review:
    - VBRP-KURSK
Exchange Rate for the conversion Loc.currency <-> Doc.currency.
      for Price Determination
The determination of this exchange rate depends on the setting
      of TVCPFLP-PFKUR in customizing copy-control
    - VBRK-KURRF.
Exchange Rate for the conversion Loc.currency <-> Doc.currency.
      for FI postings
If there is a manual entry in the sales order field VBKD-KURRF
(Goto -> Header -> Accounting), then it is copied into VBRK-KURRF.
Otherwise VBRK-KURRF is determined during invoice creation.
It is supposed that manual entry has higher priority.
      See the OSS note 36070.
    - KOMV-KKURS
Exchange Rate for the conversion Cond.currency <-> Loc.currency
      at price condition level.
It is always determined according to the Pricing date.
See the OSS notes 92613, 97487.
During VF01 the system determines the Exchange rate for FI posting
VBRK-KURRF from the currency tables according(OB08) to the billing date
only if the field Exchange rate for FI posting is empty in the
    source sales document (VBKD-KURRF).
If the sales document has this field filled, manually or copied from
a reference invoice (by copy control routine), then it is copied
in the subsequent billing document. This is the standard working
    of the system.
The exchange rate should be based on your configuration in copy control
(VTFA or VTFL) at the item category level.  The choices you have are as
    follows:
    Pricing Exhange Rate Type (V_TVCPFLP-PFKUR)
    A  Copy from sales order
B  Price exchange rate = Accouting rate
C  Exchange rate determination according to billing date
D  Exchange rate determination according to pricing date
E  Exchange rate determination according to current date
F  Exch.rate determination accord.to date of services rendered
I hope you find this information very helpful and hopefully it will solve your problem.

  • Issue in picking the daily exchange rate on Inovices.

    Hi All,
I am facing a problem with the daily exchange rate on invoices from a particular sales organization. We have an issue when an invoice is cancelled and then reissued. Currently the new invoice is taking the exchange rate from the original invoice which is incorrect, it should be pick a new exchange rate from the day that the new invoice is created.
Are there any configuration settings for this. Where do i need to check.
Would appreciate your help if you could help me.
    Thanks,
    Mercy

    Hi Mercy,
Go to transaction FBZP ->"paying company codes"-> double click the company code and check if the field
"Do not Post any Exchange Rate Differences" is flagged.
"Do not Post any Exchange Rate Differences
    Use
Ensures that no exchange rate differences are posted by the payment program.
If the indicator is set, no exchange rate difference posting is generated. The amount in the bank posting in local currency does not result from translating the foreign currency amount at the current rate but from the total of the local currency amounts from the settled items.
If the indicator is not set, the difference between the exchange rate at the time of posting and the exchange rate at the time of payment is determined for items which are posted in foreign currency. The payment program uses the translation rate in the currency table in the system for this purpose.
The exchange rate differences which have been determined are automatically posted for each payment. A valid table rate is used when you post to a bank account or a bank sub-account."
I hope I could be of assistance.

  • Exchange rate date in billing documents

    Hello,
we have a process in which from one contract we create invoices, credit memos, ... without creating any delivery.
Some contracts were created on 2004, and when we create the invoice/credit memo, ... the exchange rate at item level is taken from contract's date and not billing date (i am not too sure why at header level it takes it from billing date).
In copy control you can set it at item level with VTFA, for example combination WV to G2. Then Click on items >>> select item >>> details >>> PricingExchRate type
    There are various options
A - Copy from sales order
    B - Xchange rate = accounting rate
C - Exchange rate determination according to billing date
D - Exchange rate determination according to Pricing date
E - Exchange rate determination according to current date
F - Exchange rate determination according to service rendered date
I can select C and then it works.
The question is how to restrict this by company code, as a change here will afect all countries. Maybe we can use the copying control in VOFM?
    Thanks and regards,
    Fernando

I'm not aware of any other solution than creating a new dcument flow and corresponding item category or maybe determine a specific item category through a user exit. But, considering my experience as consultant facing this kind of problems a lot, i would suggest to make an inquiry amongst the other company codes to check if them as well would rather have this kind of exchange rate determination. Most of the times is worth it.... People don't want to bother or risk any change, and you end up with systems unecessarily mixed and complicated..
