Restarting oracle services through services.msc is faster then shu immdiate
Restarting oracle services through services.msc is faster then manual (sql>shu immdiate), Why
Even If we have large transcation on the oracle database But we can restart the database within minutes by using services.msc But It will take more time in command prompt(sql>shu immediate). So shall we assume here that services.msc is using shut abort command while restarting the database?
*(what is difference between restarting the database using with services.msc and sql>shu immediate)*

Problem in Viewing Application service methods through Service Browser.
Hi All,
I have an Application Service (ReadFundDetails) which contains some Operations
1> createFundAtSA
2> updateFundAtSA
But I cant see the operations under the Application Service through service browser.
I have deployed the project in two diff server. But the same problem persists in both the server. All the class files under the jar file have been generated successfully. There is no build issue. I have undeployed the project then build and redeploy but still the problem comes.
I have another project for which i can see the Application Service operations successfully.

MithuHi Mithu,
CAF service browser is based on CAF Web Dynpro model which has several limilations. Check the SAP note <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_caf/~form/handler">1030595</a> and <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20063659-4f03-2a10-6a8a-d88786c39b71">this</a> document for more details on the limitations of CAF Web Dynpro model. To check the operations working properly create a web service for the app service test from the wsnavigator.

Confirming method to secure web services through oracle web service manager
Hi All,
I am just wondering about the method to secure web service through oracle web service manager.
I have a unsecure web service "helloworld" which is deployed on JWSDP1.6 toolkit.I want to secure it through oracle web service manager.
Inorder to secure this unsecure web service,I use gateway(web service manager for securing web service using message level security through certificate).
So when client want to access the helloworld service,it contacts the gateway securely and gateway intern connect to original web service after decrypting and verification of the signature.When gateway gets response from the web service,it signs the response message and then encrypt and passs on to the client.
So my question is,is it the right way to secure web service?
As I am getting the following fault exception :
<SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<SOAP-ENV:Body>
<SOAP-ENV:Fault>
<faultcode "http://schemas.oblix.com/ws/2003/08/Faults">c</faultcode>
<faultstring>Step execution failed with an exception
</faultstring>
<detail></detail>
</SOAP-ENV:Fault>
</SOAP-ENV:Body>
</SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
I checked the log at :
C:\coresv_install_home\external\oc4j-10.1.2.0.0\j2ee\home\log\http-web-access
but there is no helpful information available.Thanks for any help.
KashHi Rajesh,
Thanks for your reply.I am using the following policy steps:

SOAP Fault while invoking ISG Service through BPEL
Hi,
I am trying to invoke a EBS R12 pl sql API exposed as a web service through integrated SOA gateway. But i am hitting the same error for different API`s that i have tried with. the error is :
<remoteFault>
<part name="summary">
<summary>Error occured while service was processing.</summary>
</part>
<part name="detail">
<detail>oracle.j2ee.ws.client.jaxws.JRFSOAPFaultException: Client received SOAP Fault from server : Error occured while service was processing.</detail>
</part>
<part name="code">
<code>{http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server</code>
</part>
</remoteFault>
I have supplied the r12 credentials through the composite WS Policies and the header details for the API as well. I am also able to call the API through PL/SQL code. Any reason why this error is occuring.My 2 cents here - are you using ?wsdl for accessing the wsdl? Reason I am asking this is because you get a fault message as you have posted, i.e., The action (ABC#) did not identify an operation, looks like you are hitting the service directly instead of querying for the wsdl. Also, while you are using this wsdl in your PS/BS, for example, maybe in a route action, are you sure you are selecting the operation from the list of operations this wsdl has?

andrewThe following procedure describes the steps required to deploy the DbAdapter.rar file using admin_client.jar:
1. Copy the following libraries from server.xml in an OC4J_SOA container to a server.xml file for a new
container:
oracle.bpel.common
apache.junit
oracle.db.lite
apache.commons
apache.jdom
apache.slide
For example, for oracle.bpel.common, copy the following extract from one server.xml to another and
do the same for all other libraries:
<shared-library name="oracle.bpel.common" version="10.1.3">
<code-source path="D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_5/bpel/system/classes"/>
<code-source path="D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_5/bpel/lib/orabpel-common.jar"/>

2. Restart the container to make sure that server.xml was updated correctly.
3. From the configtools.log file find the opmn port number, for example:
deployer:oc4j:opmn://dimak.au.oracle.com:6012/home
dimak.au.oracle.com - is the machine name and
6012 - port number
4. Launch a new command prompt
and set path and classpath, for example:
set PATH=$ORACLE_HOME\jdk\bin;%PATH%
set classpath=.
where in the classpath there is only one entry - the dot, which stands for the current directory.
5. change directory to the following:
$ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\home
and run the following command (written all on one line) to deploy the DbAdapter:
java -jar admin_client.jar deployer:oc4j:opmn://dimak.au.oracle.com:6012/test oc4jadmin
manager1 -deploy -file $ORACLE_HOME\integration\esb\lib\DBAdapter.rar -deploymentName
DbAdapter2 -parent default
where
* dimak.au.oracle.com should be substituted with your machine name
* 6012 should be substituted with your port which you found in step 3
* test is the name of the container you want to deploy the adapter to
* manager1 should be substituted with your oc4jadmin password
* $ORACLE_HOME\integration\esb\lib\DBAdapter.rar is the location of the DBAdapter.rar file
* deploymentName DbAdapter2 - should be different from DbAdapter, as that name is already used in the OC4J_SOA container. -
Network security with Oracle Database Cloud Service
Does the Oracle Database Cloud service support SSL? Or, any form of network encryption/authentication between a client and the service across the Internet?
Thank you Rick. I'm intending to use Oracle Database Cloud Service as a "Database-as-a-Service", however I have read that it is actually more of a "Platform-as-a-Service" offering.
What I would like to do is to interact with the Oracle Database Cloud Service via a local JDBC client. However, from further reading, it looks like the only way to interact with the Oracle Database Cloud Service from a non-Oracle-cloud-based client is via its RESTful web services (which, as you said, support SSL).
That is to say, I cannot simply connect to the Oracle Database Cloud Service from a local client just through JDBC alone. It looks like I would have to configure my client to make the relevant RESTful web service calls instead, and likewise configure my settings on the Oracle Database Cloud Service to make the necessary translations (from REST to SQL).
Just to finally clarify, is my above understanding correct? -
Hi,
Did anyone came across this issue with Class not being found for XSLT Function used in transformer on 12c OSB.
I'm using oraext:sequence-next-val and have configured as below:
namespace-uri:http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.tip.pc.services.functions.ExtFunc
namespace-prefix: oraext
Not sure why at runtime I'm getting below error, as the same was working fine in 11g OSB Domain.
XML-22045: (Error) Extension function error: Class not found 'oracle.tip.pc.services.functions.ExtFunc'Have you restarted servers after putting jar in $Domain_Home/lib directory? Also try after explicitly adding this jar in classpath by editing server startup script (startManagedWeblogic.cmd or .sh) or in domain env setting script (setDonainEnv.cmd or .sh) and restarting the servers.

Background
1. Weblogic 10.3.6.0 running on Oracle Linux 6.5 with Oracle JRockit(R) (build R28.2.3-13-149708-1.6.0_31-20120327-1523-linux-x86_64, compiled mode)
2. Oracle Apex 4.2.1
3. Apex Listener 1.1.3
4. Apex and Apex Listener running on the Weblogic box above
5. SQL Developer 4.0.2 running on Windows 7 64 bit / Java 1.7.0_55
Updated Apex to 4.2.5 via p17966818_425_Generic.zip patchset. Apex environment running fine as do all applications via Listener 1.1.3
Updated Oracle Listener to the latest version of Oracle REST Data Services 2.0.7
Current Status
Apex Applications and RESTful services are running fine.
Problem
Unable to connect SQL Developer 4.0.2 to Oracle REST Data Services 2.0.7
Error message in SQL Developer - Cannot connect to DEV. HTTP/1.1 403 Target service not allowed
Additional Information
Steps followed -
1. The oracle users APEX_LISTENER and APEX_REST_PUBLIC_USER did not exist, so I ran apex_rest_config.sql from the APEX 2.4.1 patchset whilst connected sys as sysdba and provided the same password as APEX_PUBLIC_USER for both users.
2. I also ran
grant insert, delete on APEX_040200.wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups to APEX_LISTENER;
alter session set current_schema = APEX_LISTENER;
create or replace synonym wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups for APEX_040200.wwv_flow_rt$privilege_groups;
as per Oracle SQL Developer User's Guide Release 4.0
3. copied ords.war to apex.war
4. java -jar apex.war configdir /u01/app/oracle/admin/apex/devdomain1/
5. java -jar apex.war

NOTHING UNUSUAL IN ANY OF THE WEBLOGIC LOG FILES, EXCEPT THAT IT STATES
'Oracle REST Data Services version : 2.0.6.27.18.06' when I've installed 2.0.7.
Any help much appreciatedFurther to the above post, I thought I'd simplify my Apex Listener install just to see if I can connect to it via SQL Developer
So downloaded the latest version 2.0.8 and decided to configure and run the Listener on my pc whilst still connecting to the same database.
Operating system : Window 7 Pro 64 bit
Oracle Apex Listener 2.0.8
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b17)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)
Went through the configuration as above, once started I tried again to access the listener via SQL Developer. This time I received this output from the listener:
INFO: Error: ORA-02291: integrity constraint (APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_RT$APPROVALS_SGID_FK) violated - parent key not found, occurred during execution of: [CALL, insert into wwv_flow_rt$approvals (user_name,status,client_id,security_group_id,created_by,created_on,updated_by,updated_on) values(/*in:user_id*/?,/*in:status*/?,/*in:client_id*/?,/*in:tenant_id*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?), [tenant_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [client_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [user_id, in, class java.lang.String], [status, in, class oracle.dbtools.rt.oauth.ApprovalRequest$Status], [created, in, class java.sql.Timestamp]]with values: [adminlistener, APPROVED, 3858401374580004, -1, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785]
SQL Developer responded with an Authentication Failed titled dialog with the following displayed in the body of the dialog
Cannot connect to DEV.

Want to access RESTful Services through Java Program
We are trying to access RESTful Services exposed by Oracle database cloud through our Java code, with authentication enabled for a particular user.
Till now, we have completed below steps:
1) We have a working account with Oracle database cloud (Username – xxx.xxx)
2) We log in using the credentials for above account, and navigate to Oracle Apex ? SQL Workshop ? RESTful Services
3) We create a new “RESTful Service Module” by filling out the details as below:
Name: SampleTest
URI Prefix: test
URI Template: /getallemp
Pagination Size: 25 (kept to default)
Required Privilege: TestGroupPrivilege
Resource Handler Details:
Method: GET
Source Type: Query
Format: JSON
Source: select * from emp
After creating the above module and testing it, it works fine and the data is retrieved in JSON successfully.
The resulting URL for above RESTful Service Module is: https://<HOST_URL>/apex/test/getallemp
Note that “TestGroupPrivilege” is a privilege assigned to the user group “RESTful Services” and the user “xxx.xxx” is a member of “RESTful Services” user group.
4) We are unable to call the RESTful services from Java program. We are passing username and password in request header as basic authentication. But, we are getting: Error 500--Internal Server Error
5) If we change the “Required Privilege” to default i.e. no privileges present on the module, we can get the response through Java code and everything works perfectly fine.
Please suggest us in: How to access RESTful Services through Java code by passing user credentials in HTTP header for authentication. Also let us know if we have to do any settings through Apex, in case we are missing any.

- When we are logging in to Oracle cloud on browser and execute the Oracle cloud RESTful service in another tab of same browser, we are able to get the result. But when executed the same RESTful service from a different browser or java program we get internal server error.
- After investigation, we found that when user logs in to oracle database cloud, a cookie is set in browser with name s “OAMAuthnCookie_cstest-domo.db.us1.oraclecloudapps.com:443” and value as some random token. This cookie is passed in the subsequent requests to the RESTful Service calls when using same browser and as a result, we are able to get the results
- In the Java program, we copied the same cookie with random token in the HTTP Request header and we got the proper response from REST APIs.
- It seems that this cookie is created by an Oracle Middleware tool/server called as OAM – Oracle Accounts Manager, which sends the authentication token after successful authentication and creates the cookie.
- We found that the cookie that OAM creates on authentication is exactly in the same format i.e. ‘OAMAuthnCookie_cstest-domo.db.us1.oraclecloudapps.com:443’. So, we are guessing that Oracle cloud uses OAM for authentication. Please refer to following link for same : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e15478/sso.htm
Can anyone please suggest:
1. How to provide authentication to Oracle Cloud REST APIs from java program?
2. How to pass the username and password in Java code to OAM (or how to communicate with OAM using Java) so that we can receive the unique token from OAM. We can use the token in the further requests? 3. Also in Oracle cloud white papers , it is mentioned that they support OAuth2.0. But we didn’t find any URLs for same. Can anyone please confirm?
Thanks
~ Neeraj GirolkarHi Nilesh,
We tried to connect to Oracle Cloud Database using the way you suggested above, but unfortunately it is not working as well.
Can you let us know the authentication process with Oracle Cloud Database? We found in documentation that it uses OAM (Oracle Access Manager) for authentication. Can you tell us a bit about that? That will be extremely helpful.
Thanks,

"Your browser is not supported by Oracle BI Presentation Services"
Hi,
I have installed obiee11.1.1.5 on windows 7 and i am using Firefox 12.0 latest version.When I am trying to open analytics through firefox12.0 i am getting warning like “Your browser is not supported by Oracle BI Presentation Services” and it is opening in IE but charts are not displayed. Can any one tell me the solution for this?
Edited by: Uma on Apr 26, 2012 5:24 AMHi Uma,
good that your issue is resolved. we are generally modifying/adding the header to override the existing version to previous version, so instead of using the FF10+ header we are just modifying it to FF9 inorder to make it work
The UA string of Firefox itself is broken down into four components:
Mozilla/5.0 (platform; rv:geckoversion) Gecko/geckotrail Firefox/firefoxversion
Mozilla/5.0 is the general token that says the browser is Mozilla compatible, and is common to almost every browser today.
platform describes the native platform the browser is running on (e.g. Windows, Mac, or Linux). Note that platform can consist of multiple "; "-separated tokens. See below for further details and examples.
rv:geckoversion indicates the release version of Gecko (such as "10.0"). From Firefox 5.0 and Gecko 5.0 onwards, geckoversion is the same as firefoxversion (described below).
Gecko/geckotrail indicates that the browser is based on Gecko. geckotrail is "20100101" in desktop release builds and does not represent the actual build date of the browser. For desktop development builds, geckotrail presently indicates the build date of the browser, but this is likely to change in the future. Starting February 1st 2012, geckotrail is the same as geckoversion and firefoxversion in Firefox for Android with a native front end (aka. Fennec Native).
Firefox/firefoxversion indicates the browser is Firefox, and provides the version (such as "11.0").

MS Services error 1064 when trying to start Oracle BI Scheduler service
I am trying to configure Oracle BI Scheduler. After working through the config routines the Oracle BI Scheduler Service needs to be re-started. The Microsoft error message I get in the Services dialog is both consistent and persistent: "Could not start the Oracle BI Scheduler on local computer. Error 1064: An exception occurred in the service when handling the control request." This error seems to be well-known among users of this product, but the solution - if there is one - is not at all well-known... at least to me. Any help?
Follow this article and make sure you defined all the steps. If any of these steps are wrong, the service throws the error.
http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/09/13/oracle-bi-ee-10133-configuring-delivers-ibots/
and also check is scheduler database is up and running.
