Problem in Viewing Application service methods through Service Browser.

Hi All,
I have an Application Service (ReadFundDetails) which contains some Operations
1> createFundAtSA
2> updateFundAtSA
But I can’t see the operations under the Application Service through service browser.
I have deployed the project in two diff server. But the same problem persists in both the server. All the class files under the jar file have been generated successfully. There is no build issue. I have undeployed the project then build and redeploy but still the problem comes.
I have another project for which i can see the Application Service operations successfully.

Mithu

Hi Mithu,
CAF service browser is based on CAF Web Dynpro model which has several limilations. Check the SAP note <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_caf/~form/handler">1030595</a> and <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20063659-4f03-2a10-6a8a-d88786c39b71">this</a> document for more details on the limitations of CAF Web Dynpro model. • Problem launching BSP application

    Hi all,
    I'm currently working in CRM 5.0 and I'm trying to launch the BSP application (CRM_IC -> default_dh.htm). I was able to succesfully launch it in the web browser. However, I could only see the toolbar buttons in the browser. The Workarea and the Navigation bar was completely blank. I'm using DEFAULT SAP IC Web Client profile and this is assigned to my user id.
    I have also checked to see if all the services are active in the ICF. Could anyone please tell me how to resolve it?
    Thanks,
    Sahil

    Hello Experts,
    I am trying to launch CRM_IC and facing same problem either ways - CRM GUI and through web browser URL.
    I get following message:
      "Loading" on the main window and additionally a small window pops up for a fraction of seconds with following message
      "Ending the user session.....
       <img width = "1" height = "1" src = "/sap/bc/bsp/sap/crm_ic/default.htm sap-
       sessioncmd=logoff">
    After this additional window, session teminates with nothing happening on the first window and message remains as "Loading".
    Is there any way to get out of it?
    I need to launch IC webclient.
    Am I following the correct approach or there is some other approach to load BSP -

  • What is problem with my web services application?

    Hi Everyone, I have a question for you.
    I created a web service, and tried to call its method within a JSF application (developed by JSC2). Following is what I got:
    1) It works with TravelWS example.
    2) It works if I called my web services' methods from a standalone Java program.
    3) It does NOT work if I call it within my JSF applicationBean1() or JSP pages.
    4) After adding my own web services into my JSF through JSC IDE, I tested my methods provided by web services. Two of them are working. But rest of them do not.
    If it is the problem of my web service, why my standalone Java program works?
    If it is the problem of my JSF application configuration, why TravelWS example works?
    What can the problem be? Can someone give me some suggestions?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks both of you for the response.
    Here is my situation. The web service is developed by another team. And we are trying to call their methods in our JSF application. From the example provided by the web service team, I need to do following in my JSF code:
    myWebServiceLocator locator = new myWebServiceLocator();
    locator.setMyWebServiceSoapEndpointAddress( "http://mywebserviceurl./axis/services/myWebServiceSoap" );
    locator.setMaintainSession( true );
    this.myWebService = locator.getMyWebServiceSoap();
    The problem is that the locator above extends org.apache.axis.client.Service, however, the JSF generated client creates a javax.xml.rpc.Service object. I guess this might cause my problem.
    How to solve this?

  • Problem in Web Service from Application Service

    Hi All,
    In Netweaver CE I have created a CAF project and within the project I have used one WebService as external service. Now to access the web service I have created an application over on the extrenal service( Just right clicking on webservice -> default mapping). Then the application service is exposed as web service. At that time I have also created Web Service Destination and mapped (External service mapping) the external service with that specific destination. Now my task is to test the web service from netweaver WebService Nevigator. At the testing phase I am providing one input value and executing the WS but it is not accepting any input value. I have also done the debugging in backend system but in backend the input value is acception as zero. That means the web service is not accepting anu input value.
    Did anybody face the same problem for NetWeaver CE or any sugestion?
    Thanks
    Chandan

    Hi Chandan,
    You need to create a custom wrapper operation in the application service where the operation by default mapping gets created. From this custom operation you need to call the operation created by the default mapping. In the web service you need to expose the custom operation only.

  • Problem when Creating Project (Composite Application Services) in NWDS

    I've seen a few posts regarding this but I don't feel as if any real solution was given.
    I just installed Netweaver Developer Studio (7.0.15) with the current JDK/JRE (1.6.0_07).  When trying to create a new Composite Application Services project within the Studio, using the new project wizard, I get an error: Problem when Creating Project.
    I get the EJB Module and Dictionary to create within my navigator with no problems, however, during the creation of the metadata, the error occurs.  I do have the metadata folder appear within the navigator, but nothing in it.  None of the other three items are created.
    I have tried the attempt at deleting the metadata folder within my workspace directory and trying again but the same exact result occurs.
    Is there any other solution out there for this problem besides attempting to find older versions of NWDS, etc. that are more "stable"?
    Thank you!

    Durga,
    Very simple but effective solution.
    I had tried uninstalling / re-installing NWDS with no effect but uninstalling / re-installing NWDS AND all java related products on my machine did work.
    Note: For anyone else with this issue in the future.  I installed the Java SDK / JRE 1.4.2_18 with NWDS 7.0.15 in case this is also a possible issue with versions.
    Thanks, Durga!

    Hi Experts,
    I have created an entity service with remote persistency(Web service).i am mapping the entity service CRUD methodes to web service methodes and i am calling these CRUD methodes form the corresponding applicaion service CRUD methodes.With out complex data types both sevices are working  fine.I have tested them in the service browser.
    Later I have created a complex data type in the entity service and mapped it to web service.But when i am creating the application service create(CRUD) method for this entity service the complex data type which i have created in the entity service is not being shown as possible input attributes of the application service create method.Due to this i am not able to pass this complex attribute form the application service create method to the entity service create method.
    Plz tell me how can i resilve this issue.(Urgent)

  • Method signature of Application Service is changed by Webdynpro

    Hi,
      I have created  a method in application service which takes 3 string arguments. It access create() of Entity service. when I try to access the same method in webdynpro, I found the signature of method is changed.
      Method   in Application service  is  <b>addNewRecord(String, String, String</b>). I found in webdynpro ..<b> addNewRecord(IAspect,String,String,String)</b>. why signature of method is changed? how to construct IAspect object?
    Thanks in advance..
    Haribabu ch.

    This is how you would execute such method
              IServiceFacade serviceFacade = CAFServiceFactory.getServiceFacade();
                             IServiceModule serviceModule = serviceFacade.getServiceModule(CorecafDefinition.APPSERVICE);
                             IAspect aspect = serviceModule.createAspect(CorecafDefinition.APPSERVICE);
              IAction action = aspect.createAction(bams1cafDefinition.APPSERVICE_METHOD);
              action.getInputParameterStructure().setAttributeValue("Var1", val1);
              action.getInputParameterStructure().setAttributeValue("var2", val2);
              action.getInputParameterStructure().setAttributeValue("var3", val3);
              action.execute();

  • Custom method in application service

    Hi All,
    i have created a custom method in an application service.But It is not being shown in service browser.
    Can you  plz tell me what is the reason?.
    Thanks
    Sampath.G

    Hi Sampath,
    I think you haven't checkied the thread I mentioned carefully. As I mentioned in my previous reply the CAF Service Browser is based on CAF Web Dynpro model which has lot of limitations. You can refer the <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_caf/~form/handler">SAP Note 1030595</a> and <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/20063659-4f03-2a10-6a8a-d88786c39b71">this document</a>. After refering these documents you'll understand that CAF Service browser don't support all types of custom application service operations. To test the application service create web service out of it and test it from wsnavigator.
    Thanks,

  • Method as a WEB Service in an Application Service

    Dear Colleaguaes,
    When importing a web service method into a caf project, and exposing it as method into an application service, is it necessary to create an Entity Service as Web Service wrapper still?
    I can check that a web service method works, it returns the data, but it returns nothing when I try to test the corresponding method in the application service.
    I've also created a destination in Destination Template Management and done the external service to the destination configured mapping. But still without success....
    Thank you in advance,

    Hi,

    To be more specific I don't know how to wire the two af:InputText with my web service method in the way when I click the submit button it past the info to web service and which has to return the Student ID :

  • How can I call the create method in BO from Application Service

    Hello!
    When I create a Business Object, CAF generates some methods automatically.
    How can I call the create method in the BO from Application Service logic?
    When i call the method then the entityManager and the sessionContext is NULL.
    How can I initialize this?
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks, Thomas

    If you are using CE 7.11...
    1) In the Application Services, add the BO as dependant object in dependencies tab.
    2) In the implemention, add the following codes to call create method of the BO:
    this.get<BO>.createMethod();

  • Problems updating Entity services or application services

    Hello all,
    I'm working with SAP Netweaver Developer Studio creating a new CAF application.
    First all, I import the SAP Entreprise Service, then I model the entity service, I expose my application Service as a Web Service and finally I deploy it and test it.
    However, when I try to edit my entity service (for instance, including a new attribute) or application service (for instance, changing the bussiness logic code) and I redeploy it, the Web Service Navigator doesn't update the changes.
    So, sadly I must start again configuring the entity and application service.
    Any idea??
    Thanks,

    everytime you change the signature (structure of input/output) of the entity or application service, the change is not automatically propagated to the web service definition. you have to delete manually the web service configuration for the entity or application service or recreate it. you can call it a bug or a feature. it's up to you.

  • Problem in Application Service

    Hi All,
    I have created an application services from external service using RFC. But I am unable to populate the values into the structure in my application service.
    I have created the structure with he same type as in the external service.
    Can anyone help me out to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Chaitanya.

    Hi,
    If you right click on your external service, you can find an option called default mapping.If you use this feature, it will automatically create an application service and does the mapping to that external service.

  • Web Dynpro access Application Services directly?

    We're looking at implementing some processes using Guide Procedures, and I have a question about design 'style'.
    I'm creating a data layer using Entity Services.  The entity services will be utilized by the Application Services to create a business layer.  How to do this is clear, and straightforward.
    However, where I have a question is how the automatically generated Web Dynpro application (or any other Web Dynpro application, for that matter) can interact with Application Services.  I've seen sample applications where the Web Dynpro application interacts with application services via mapping from the Web Dynpro interface layer through the GP Runtime - from my perspective, this looks like a good way to deal with a small amount of data being passed between the steps in the GP.
    The primary Web Dynpro application will let the user interact with the data, massaging it until it's in a form where the next person needs to deal with it.  I was thinking of having the Web Dynpro application interact with the Application Services layer directly to move data from the database to the web dynpro application, and back again.  The only thing that would be passed between the steps in the GP would be the guid of the primary data structure.  I would also expose a method of the Application Service as a CO which would take the guid and return the entire business object, so viewing screens could be constructed - as well, PDF's could be generated, and so on.
    Is this considered bad form in a GP, specifically accessing Application Services directly, instead of through a step in the GP?  I understand that what I want to do ties the Web Dynpro application directly to the Application Services layer, but my thinking is that the CO that encompasses the Web Dynpro should be 'atomic', in that all operations related to that specific step should be contained in a single CO.  In other words, the action of creating the business object, fiddling with it, an then submitting it upstream should be contained in one CO.
    Comments, suggestions?

    Hi,
          In the Composite Application Framework scenario, you first create the Business Entities. These act as data holder. To fill the data within these entities the Application services are created. These application services are later exposed as a webservice and deployed.
                   These webservices can contain different methods along with the CRUD operations depending on the Process Flow and Design implemented. We can import the webservices as a model in the WebDynPro Component. The UI elements of the Views can be binded to the Model. So when we execute the model methods the data gets entered into the Business objects.
                   This WebDynPro component should be a callable object ( It requires some Dependencies to be added to the WebDynPro Component ). So that you can have Input/Output parameters and ResultStates. These parameters are useful if you have to pass some parameters from one view to other within the same component. So this WebDynPro Callable object includes the Application service calls and also the passing of data through the GP Input/Output Structures.
                   These callable objects are then included within the Process.
      This is how I think a Composite Application must be designed.
