    Merci d'avance.

  • HT201364 why i don't install mac os x maverick for macbook pro retina later 2013?

why i don't install mac os x maverick for macbook pro retina later 2013?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The Late 2013 MacBook Pro already comes with OS X Mavericks. However, if you try to download OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store, you will get a message telling you that your MacBook Pro is not compatible, when it is.
This is caused because the Late 2013 MacBook Pro is running a special OS X Mavericks version which is different than the version available in the Mac App Store. This makes that you get an error message when you try to download OS X Mavericks even when you are using it.
Instead of downloading OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store, you can still download OS X Mavericks to reinstall OS X through OS X Recovery > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718 You will be able to download OS X Mavericks from the Mac App Store when your MacBook Pro uses the same version as all other Macs

If I don't have icloud, only mobileme on my macbook pro, how do i get icloud on my computer?

By upgrading to OS X Lion 10.7.2 or higher (required for iCloud).  First check to see if your system meets the system requirements to upgrade.
    Lion system requirements are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Mountain Lion requirements are shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5444.
If you can run Mountain Lion, you can purchase an upgrade from the Mac App Store.  If you can only run Lion, contact the online store in your country and purchase a download code to download it from the Mac App Store.
After upgrading, you will find iCloud in System Preferences>iCloud on your Mac, and can set it up as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html.
Before upgrading, you may want to check the compatibility of your existing programs by checking here: http://roaringapps.com/apps:table.

If both computers were configured identically, then they would both lose the same amount of battery life with respect to the same starting configuration - comparing apple to apples. I don't know how much the added RAM, etc. would reduce battery life, but it would be less for both models.
Battery life is a tricky subject because most mfgr.s like to suggest as long a life as possible, but often do so under a set of conditions that are not common to most users. Apple is no different. Their computers do have good battery life, however. But not likely as long as what is in the ads for the typical user.

  • How do I connect Macbook Air to Macbook via ethernet crossover cable?

    Hi all,
For the life of me, I'm having a lot of troubles connecting my Macbook Air to Macbook, here is what I've done so far:
    1. Turned on sharing in System preferences on both systems and given "read and write" access to "myself", "users" and "everyone".
    2. Then connected a ethernet cable to both macbook and macbook air (via original Apple USB ethernet)
    3. When I go to Finder > Shared on both systems, they say cannot open drop box insufficient privileges.
Please someone link to step by step tutorial of Mac OS X 10.5 sharing through ethernet cable or correct me on what I'm doing wrong, and I don't have firewire cable otherwise things would've easier .
    Thanks in advance!

You are probably over thinking the problem.
Do not use a crossover cable. Just connect the two machines directly with a standard ethernet cable and they will auto assign ip addresses and be accessible to each other. The ethernet chips in both machines will detect the cable, etc and it "just works".
Also your sharing settings do not need to be that open. I would recommend to pulling them back so that you are not giving the world access to your machine.

  • Can I restore a backup (on a time capsule) from a macbook to a macbook air?

can I restore a backup (on a time capsule) from a macbook to a macbook air?

I've never personally done this, but I'm qute sure you can.  After all, this would be one method of migrating from the MacBook to the MacBook Air (with the assistance of Migration Assistant).

A firmware password has been set. It's not the same as your login password. If you don't know the password, you will have to take the machine to an Apple Store to have the password removed.

QUE DOIS-JE FAIRE ????? (J'ai acheté mon mac hier... --')

    Bonjour,

  • Choosing between a macbook or a macbook pro

i have an old G4 ibook and i want to upgrade now since it will be taking so long before LEOPARD arrives.
i need advices from you guys and suggestions on whether i should get a macbook or a macbook pro.
i need to run medical programs (compatible with windows only) so do i need to get Parallels or Bootcamp will suffice?
i also plan to make my soon-to-be notebook LEOPARD ready.
    thanks a lot.

I think it definitely is cheaper if you get the extra RAM and the bigger HDD from third parties. But I'm a bit worried about the warranty. I don't think you're gonna get any warranty if you upgrade your mac from third parties. But noramlly if you don't smack your mac or anything, you shouldn't be needing the warranty at all, though it might be best to have a backup for all your data (but it's the same case with or without a warranty).
You said you want to run some medical programs, then the MB Pro is probably what you need, at least that's what the MB Pros are targeted: pro movies, pro music, pro science stuff even the genetic engineering sort of thing. Having said that, the MBs, although targeted for everyday light use, can also do all the pro stuff. Only a better computer does the job better, and by better I mean faster, the end results will be the same. I use my middle-end (not low, not high) iMac for pro music, pro movie, and something else which requires enormous processing power, it still get the jobs done, perfectly. Of course a Mac Pro will get the jobs finished faster, but the end product should be the same. It's like Mac Pro can clone a sheep in 3 days, MB Pro in a week, and MB 10 days. Also, given the fact that you try to save a few quid on the upgrades, you might not want to spend the extra money on a MB Pro.
Again, having said that, although plainly from looking at the specs, MB and MB Pro don't seem to differ much, they might be very different. An obvious difference would be the graphics, whichI think you wouldn't mind because you're not using it for gaming or anything. Something the specs don't obviously tell is the boards. Every PC user knows very well that a good motherboard a must for a really good PC. I can't tell you why because I don't know myself. However, in the mac community, it seems like nobody talks about that. And I think the large gap between the two seemingly similar basic-specs-wise laptops is because of the board. Like everything else in the whole universe, I believe, what you pay is what you get.
Actually I myself is thinking of getting a laptop upgrade (though unlikely to happen), and since money and mobility are the two great issues I'd consider when buying a laptop, I'd probably go for the MB, even I do some pro music and movie stuff. I know my long post has confused you even more to make the decision, sorry, mate. But I hope it's a consructive kind of confusion.
P.S. I'm pretty much sure you can't run your medical thing on Parallel; you'll have to use that on Boot Camp, which I have some reservations. The Boot Camp PC exhibits slight difference in game running than a regular PC. The "slight difference" is not performance difference (ie graphics, loading speed, etc), it's whether the games can run at all. So, there might be a possibility that your medical thingy won't work properly on the Boot Camp version of PC, even though it's supposed to be 100% the same as a regular PC with the full specs you have on your mac. Ideally, if you have a friend who has an Intel Mac, any Intel Mac at all, try run your medical thingy on your friends machine to see if it works properly. You don't wanna find out it doesn't after you bought your mac, right? Also, last time I checked, Boot Camp is part no longer a beta software in Leopard, it's part of it. So, perhaps the Boot Camp in Leopard has improved those "slight difference" areas as well. And since you asked about the Leopard-ready question and nobody has told you this yet, I can assure even your old iBook can install Leopard (although I'm not 100% sure), so any mac you buy would be ready to install Leopard.
