Restrict a developer to only predefined project

Hello SM Experts,
In Change Management, I want that a User with a Developer role can only take over development work for his assigned Implementation project(s) and not the other existing ones.
How can I restrict this using the roles? I tried using B_SMAN_WPL Authorization, but wasnt successful.
Your help/tips will be appreciated.

Hello Maulin,
the authorization object S_PROJECT controls the access to a project. If you do not have ACTVT = 23 you can only display the project but not chnage anything. If you do not have ACTVT = 03 you can not even open it. If you want the user onlt to work on some tabs , you have to use in addition object AI_SA_TAB.

Restrict employees from charging time to projects they are not assigned to

Can anyone help me on how tr restrict the employees from charging time to project networks that they are not assigned to?
I have assigned the resource to the project network and can see that in the CAT2 worklist but I am not able to restrict employees from charging time agains projects that they are no assigned to.

You have to validate the data in CATS Userexit.IMG - Cross application components - Time sheet - Customer specific modifications - Create SAP enhancements for the time sheet. Here is a short overview on what they are called and what they do.
CATS0001 (Set up worklist): This one defines a worklist in the upper part of the CATS screen
CATS0002 (Supplement recorded data): Here you can add values to customer defined additional fields or even modify the data entered by the user
CATS0003 (Validate recorded data): This one is to check entries for whatsoever
CATS0004 (Deactivate functions on the interface): CATS got a lot of buttons. Here you can get rid of the ones you don't need.
CATS0005 (Customer field enhancements): You can add fields to CI_CATSDB here to later on use to display or enter additional data
CATS0006 (Validate entire time sheet): Mainly serves to validate the hours entered if you don't use HR
CATS0007 (Subscreen on Initial screen): Customer popup, defines data valid for the entire time sheet(row)
CATS0008 (Determine recipients for the approval workflow): You can connect CATS to a standard workflow so that superiors can approve times entered before they are transferred (HR, CO, PS...)
CATS0009 (User-Defined Text Fields in the Data Entry Section): You got two 40 character text fields in the data entry part you can fill with this exit - display only
CATS0010 (Display User-Defined Fields in the Worklist): Same as above for the worklist
CATS0011 (Customer-Defined Functions): Add your own functions to the menu
CATS0012 (Customer Subscreen): Define CATS header
CATP0001 (Determine Target Hours): Define your own target hours

Restricting Multiple Users To Only Their Specific Areas Of A Site

I think I understand the basics of user authentication and
password protection for areas of a site using PHP/MySQL, etc. Maybe
I don't however.
My question is: If I have 10 users how do I restrict each
user to only their specific pages in the site so that they can only
see their specific pages and not every protected page?

How can I restrict options result to only one cost center?

In transaction KS03 (Display cost Center), when I search for a cost center (hit F4), I have an option to drill down by Company code, controlling area, Cost Center Category, Person Responsible etc.
My question is, how can I restrict users to select only controlling area they are authorized for ? Is there any authorization object I can use to restrict user's access to particular value in the table CSKS ?

Hello! It is my understanding that you need to add the individual files to the Source Code Control along with the .lvproj file.

How to restrict the user to change the project structure but not the documents?

Hi,
I have created one project assigning different users in Solution manger. I want to risitrict some of the users to change the project structure but simultaneously allwoing the project documents to be created, edited or deleted using solar01 under Project documentation tab. For that I have followed the steps provided in the follwoing link.

I am able to restrict the users to change the project structure, but I am not able to allow access to the project documents. It gives me the message "You are not authorised to change the project". This fulfills my one of the requirements. But, Is there any way to restrict the user to change the project structure but not the documents?. Any help will be apperitiated.

Hi Rutvik,
Basically there are 2 different authorization role ...you should look for and customize as per requirement in Z* namespace.
role - SAP_SOLAR01_ALL
this take care of objects in Solar01 like tab access etc
role -SAP_SOL_KW_ALL
this takes care of entire documentation within solman

This recently happened to me. I am a novice, but it seemed like that project got corrupted some how.
I deleted it.
Went to time machine and picked it up again when I knew it was working ok.
I lost a few hours of work, but not the entire project.
Once I had the project back from time machine, it worked fine (but like I said, I lost a little bit of work).

Object for "Selection authorization for spool requests" is S_ADMI_FC where "Operation authorization" use S_SPO_ACT

SQL Developer not only reading tnsnames.ora

Hello,
I have found a very odd behaviour in SQL Developer 1.2 (running on Windows 2000):
I have set TNS_ADMIN to point to a directory on a network drive residing on a Linux host. In this directory there were many backup files of tnsnames.ora created over time whose names followed the pattern tnsnames.ora.<timestamp> or tnsnames.bak or something similar. In SQL Developer in the "New database connection" dialog many TNS-entries showed up multiple times in the "Network alias" listbox. Only after removing all those backup files from the directory the behaviour of SQL Developer was correct and every entry only showed up once. I also found out that even when I moved the backup files to a new directory "tnsnames.bak" under the directory which TNS_ADMIN points to the entries showed up multiple times. After I renamed this directory to bak.tnsnames the behaviour was again correct. In my opinion SQL Developer should only read the file called tnsnames.ora and ignore all other files or directories with similar names.

YOu cannot find the call to the badi's by searching the main program.
The badi is called a t run time.
To find a badi attached to a main program, goto se38,
GIve the program name.
Goto->Object Directory Entry. Find the package.
Go to se18 transaction, Press f4.
give the package name in the popup.
you can get the badis associated with the main program.

How do I restrict a llb to only use local vi's

Whenever an .llb can't find a .vi it scours the hardrive and local network looking for it and I really need to stop this. I need to restrict the .llb to only use .vi's that are contained in the .llb (except for system .vi's of course)

I would consider converting the llb to a lvlib. Someone with more scripting knowledge would probably be able to help with a VI to do this automatically. With an lvlib you would get the protects you are looking for. In addition you would know if something was deleted.

Note that i cannot modify the column because there are already values entered in the column and cannot delete it.

Try to convert it to a date in the WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM-trigger, if it works, its a date, like
