Restricting Edit of Attribute Sets against a BP

Hello All,
I have a requirement to be able to restrict the editing of Marketing Attributes against a BP.
The scenario is this.  SAP CRM receives BP from an external system via an interface.  Part of this interface delivers some marketing attributes.  The attributes in this set must not be editable in SAP CRM.  I have investigated the use of authorisation objects BGRKP and BGRKL, but these only control the ability to maintain the attribute set data, as far as I can see, and not to control how the attributes are handled at the BP level.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Jon

Hi Jon,
You need to use C_CABN_GRP auth object, to use it first you need to assign some value in tcode CT04 for those particular attribute and then in pfcg role use the same value and in Activity give only Display access.
Also i have answered similar question in below thread which might be useful in your case. Just try to give Display only access in Activity for below ones too (which i mentioned in my reply there)
Marketing attributes visibility

  • How to restrict contributor users to  edit only few set of pages

    Hi All,
We wanted to restrict some of the contributor users to edit only few set of pages,
is that possible to implement ?
Can somebody please give some pointers
    Thanks
    Hari

I was looking for a hint in the documentation and could not find any. This means that either it is something obvious (not to me, unfortunately), or this concept is not native to the Site Studio. This means that all contributors are equal - at least, the section http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e10614/c01_intro.htm#i422918 seems to be written in that way.
    What could you try?
This section, http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e13650/ssxa_creatingsites.htm#CIHGGCFB , suggests that all contributors are assigned the role WCMContributor. There is probably no finer distinction than that a user has this role or not.
Then, each of used objects (namely, region definitions, native/contributors files) have its metadata. You could try to give read-only access to those contributors who won't edit the region.
Last thing, which looks the most promising, but also the most complicated, is that you will dynamically change the region template, based on a user logged in (a sort of self-defined contrib mode). An example can be found in this thread: Display Contributor Regions dynamically (note that the example is about languages, you will need to implement your own logic!)

  • Editing Region of Query Table (Attribute Set)

    Hi,
I've tried to create a query and results table however, in the attribute set of the region items, I cannot find any attribute sets which concur to the objects i have created previously. I opted to leave the attribute set field to blank, but when i run my xml i get the following error. Please assist.

  • How to restrict editing documents uploaded in CRMD_ORDER ?

    Hi All,
In CRMD_ORDER transaction, Transaction Data -> Documents Tab, we can upload our documents,
Once the document is uploaded and the transaction is saved, I want to restrict editing and deletion of the document.
I got this BADI CRM_DOC_AUTHORITY, but i am not getting how to use it.
In this BADI we have a parameter 'Acivity' which has possible values as,
    01     Create Objects
    02     Delete Objects
    03     Read Objects
    04     Change Objects
    05     Get Authorization Information
    06     Change Authorization Information
If we click on delete, 'the activity is 02 - Delete Objects", I cleared  the '' ios_auth' and displayed  the message 'Documents cannot be deleted'.   It is working fine.
But when we click on 'Edit' button, the activity is not set to '04' and  it is allowing to edit the document and overwrite the existing one.
So pls any one help in this. I want to restrict both deletion and editing once the document is uploaded and saved.
    any Suggestions pls ?

Posting the same in ABAP as I didnt got any suggestions here.

  • Retrive Business Partners related to the filters of an Attribute set

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I hv a requirement to get Business Partners related to the filters of an Attribute set.
I hv used a FM 'CRM_MKTTG_SAL_SEARCH_DB' to get the GUID of the attribute list.
If the GUID is passed to another FM 'CRM_MKTTG_SAL_READ' we can get the details of the attribute list i.e. GUIDs of Attributes and Filters within the list.
All we need to o now is to identify the BPs related to the filter criteria.
So, is there any standard report program or Function Module which can be used to achieve the above purpose?

    Thanks for the reply.
this FM is taking the Marketing Attribute Set ID as input and returning the BPs in it.
I would like to know if I create an Attribute list in the T-code CRMD_MKTDS, create a filter criteria for this attribute list, then how come I can determine the BPs related to this filter criteria Can this me achieved by any FM or Standard Report program?

  • Restrict editing/deleting item when approval workflow is in progress

I have a list for contributors to submit documents and activate an approval workflow. The requirement is to restrict all users from editing and deleting the document once the workflow is activated. After the workflow is completed, if the document
is approved, all users also should not be able to edit/delete the item; if the document is rejected, users should regain the permission to edit/delete the item.
I had no problem with restricting edit/delete permission after the document is approved by adding a Declare Record action after the content approval status is set to approved in SPD.
However, the workflow was not able to complete when I added a Declare Record action in the "When the Task Process Starts" step and an Undeclare Record action in the very beginning of the "When the task process completes" step to restrict users from editing/deleting
the item when the workflow is in progress.
After I activated the workflow and approved the item, the Workflow status shows Approved but the Approval status still shows Pending. In addition, the "Approval Workflow Task is complete" (shown in the following image) is missing in the workflow history,
which seems to me that the workflow task is never completed.
Please advise me the proper way to restrict users from editing/deleting the document while the workflow is in progress. Thank you.

then use SPD to customize the task process to lock them out upon starting and give them rights again upon rejection.

    Hi
How was this resolved in the end. I to want to disable editing of document whilst workflow in progress. In SPD how is this achieved?
    Thanks

first of all welcome to SDN. You will find a description how to use this fields in the CRM Documentation: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/2b/59dc49c50911d3b29b0050da3ee986/frameset.htm">Working with Attribute Sets</a>. Have a look at the second last paragraph.

  • Create/Edit "Custom Attributes" in Dynamic Distribution Groups

    Hi,
I wanna create a Dynamic Distribution Group based on the users "title" and "company".
I've noticed that there are 15 "Custom Attributes" that I can edit in someway, I guess via PowerShell?
So what is the easiest way to accomplice this?

    Hi,
Agree with the above suggestion, you can also bulk change the custom attributes:
    Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited -Database Execs | Set-Mailbox -CustomAttribute1 “title”
    http://dougg.co.nz/2012/05/01/bulk-setting-exchange-2010-custom-attributes/
    to Edit Custom Attributes:
    get-mailbox -filter {customattribute1 -eq ""} | set-mailbox -customattribute1 = "<value>"
And here is a reference about Create/Edit "Custom Attributes" in Dynamic Distribution Groups:
    http://windowsitpro.com/exchange-server-2010/exchange-2010-sp2-value-custom-attributes

  • Repeating Regions and Editable Tag Attributes?

I want to produce a template that will let users create pages
that list items as a thumbnail image and a short text description,
    one after the other.
I can set this up as a repeating region, but I would also
like to make only certain attributes of the image editable (src and
alt for example). However, when I use editable tag attributes to do
this, the image in each repeated region ends up with the same
attribute values - when I add a new repeat region and then change
the src tag through the Template Properties dialog,
all of the images take on the same src value. Looking at the
code, it looks like the editable instances in each repeated region
get the same name, and so I can see that DW will get confused.
Is this a limitation in DW? Is there a work around anyone can
    suggest?
    TIA

So, you have some number of people who are editing the child
    pages and you
want to constrain their editing choices? Are you using
    Contribute?
Anyhow, I am not aware of any convenient way you can do
    something like this
    using DW's Template features.

  • Can complex product attribute sets be re-used for subsequent products?

I am attempting to lure a customer away from Joomla to BC.
They have many categories, each containing many products,
and each of these with multiple and complex attribute sets.
Each attribute set is common to many products.
Eg: Furniture with table-top laminate colour options, framing colour options, caster options etc.
Can these attribute option sets be created once and re-used?
    Thanks.

Although this solves my immediate dilemma, it's not ideal for the customer.
They really should be able to add pre-formatted attribute groups when they are adding new products
(without having to resort to exporting, editing and re-importing spreadsheet data).
I hate a situation where a customer can achieve something in Joomla but not in BC.
Maybe I should add this to the latest BC feature wishlist.
Anyway, thanks again for your reply.

  • How to restrict reversal of Goods issue against production order.

    Dear All,
How to restrict reversal of Goods issue against production order if production order status is CNF or DLV.
i want that user can not reverse the goods issued against production order, if they want to do so, then user has to reverse the GRN and reverse the GI then only.
    Please suggest the solution.
    Regards,
    Sandeep Dhruve

    Hy Sandeep,
You have to use User Exit for this.
The following enhancement is available for production orders:
o   CCOWB001    User exit for modifying menu entries
You can use this function module to deactivate menu entries or
functions. The locked functions can then no longer be executed by the
    user.
The enhancement CCOWB001 contains the following components:
    Function exit
o   EXIT_SAPLCOWB_001   Good movement: Deaktivate functions
          Display documentation

  • How to generate Attribute Sets Automatically?

it show in Oracle Application Framework Developer’s Guide Release 12.1.2 December 2009 as follow:
    /jdevbin/<SelectedJDevBuild>/build attributesets APPS APPS
    appsdbs.us.oracle.com 1521 devdb /home/jfrost/jdevhome/jdev/myprojects PO
What is build? how to get it? or How to get Attribute Set Generator?

AFAIK, there's no template for generating web.xml.
    Navigate to <TomcatInstallDir>/webapps/
You would find lot of directories - each one being a web application.
Navigate to any one, say ROOT and then to the WEB-INF directory
    under that.
    You would find a web.xml.
Copy it into your <web-application-dir>/WEB-INF folder and make necessary changes
    cheers,

  • How do I force Acrobat security  to restrict editing by default?

I'm trying to prevent users from accidently creating a PDF that allows edit. I know that it is possible to change document security to restrict editing on a document by document basis, but I would like to force this to be the default for all users.
