Restricting the Reports using FM   HR_HIS_READ

All, I have a requirement that, need to restrict the number of reports that should be displayed in the MSS of HIS Report selection. Is there any configuration to restrict them?

hi
if its on the protal side its very simple . u can go to content admin and create new role or roles and can manage this.
If on R/3 side u can manage this by structural authorisations

  • Restricting the data using attributes

    Hi All,
    I have to restrict the data in my report based on the Order type and Order Status. But these 2 fields are
    attributes to Sales Order. Is there any possibility to restrict the query using the attributes of a CHAR.
    Rgds,
    Nene.

    Hi Nene
    May be your mate
    this is the F1 help text
    <b>Selection of Filter Values for Query Definition</b>
    <b>This field describes how the selection of filter values and the restriction of characteristics functions when you define queries</b>.
    The values from the master data table are normally displayed when you restrict characteristics. For characteristics without a master data table, the values from the SID table are displayed instead. In a number of cases, however, it could be better to display only the values that are in the InfoProvider. The setting "InfoProvider Values Only" is permitted for this reason.
    <b>Selection of Filter Values for Query Execution</b>
    <b>This field describes how the selection of filter values functions when a query is executed</b>.
    Normally the values from the data selected by the query are defined when you select filter values as you execute the query. Only the values for which data was selected for the current navigation status are displayed.
    In a number of cases it can make sense to permit additional values as well. The settings "InfoProvider Values Only" and "Master Data Table Values" are allowed for this reason. If you make this selection, the message "No Data Found" may appear after selecting filter values.
    and regarding the status 6 records are you sure that the master data related to that is active if not run arrtibute change run that might be helpful

  • How to restrict the Report based on sales office

    Hi Experts,
    I am using BW 3.5. I have a requirement that my sales report should give output to  particular user with his respective sales office only.
    For Example :
      User,   Sales Office
       A , Delhi
       B, Mumbai
    User A should not be able to see the data of Mumbai Sales office. As both the users using the same Report,
    Please suggest How to achieve this.
    Helpful answers will be awarded.
    Thanks&Regards,
    Venkat

    Hi,
    To do this, you need to make the infoObject Sales Office authorization relevant.
    Create an authorization Object using the t-code RSSM for this InfoObject. Restrict it with Activity.
    Create a role for each of the Sales Office and restrict your authorization variable with that office.
    Now you have 2 roles for eg. One for Mumbai, other for Delhi. Assign them to respective users.
    Create a authorization variable for Sales Office and restrict your report with that.
    Use the below documentation for creation of Authorization Object.

  • Two commands in the report using the same parameter - fail under Java

    I have a report that contains 2 SQL commands.
    Both of these commands use one parameter X of type Number in their 'WHERE' clause.
    When i'm viewing the report in CR 2008, i'm asked for a value of this parameter and all data is filled in the report - OK
    The problem occurs when the same report is printed through Crystal Java Runtime:
    Report is printed without data! - it's empty.
    What we noticed in the debug information thrown by the Crystal libraries is that parameter value is set only in one of these commands:
    Original statement 1:
    select a.something
    from ANM_T a
    where a.anmid = {?PARAMETER01Id}
    Original statement 2:
    SELECT * from ANM_T a
    WHERE  a.anmid={?PARAMETER01Id}
    OUTCOME of Statement 1:
    select a.something
    from ANM_T a
    where a.anmid = 0
    OUTCOME of Statement 2:
    SELECT * from ANM_T a
    WHERE  a.anmid=9825
    In above example we may see that crystal set the value only in the second statement - first one got 0 - i suspect its some default value.
    Parameter in the Java code is set in the right way. In case of using only one statement it works. If we use two separate parameters (whose values are equal ) it also works.
    // we have also the loop over the parameters
    ParameterFieldController paramFieldController =
                    report.getDataDefController().getParameterFieldController();
    paramFieldController.setCurrentValue( "", paramName, paramValue );
    What is strange for me is that Crystal Reports enables to use the same parameter in two commands but if you edit one of them you may change the type of this parameter for a command ( for example from Number to String) but the parameter type in the second command remains unchanged ( it's strange because in my opinion it is the same parameter). In the Field Explorer under the Parameter Fields i still see one parameter of type used in the second command.

    Hello all,
    We have prepared some sample code to illustrate the issue.
    We have modified the sample application (Link: [http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/c07fec3e-3e11-2c10-1991-8c0fb0b82b75]) to that it also changes the parameter value. Parameter is used in two commands saved in report.
    The code changing the parameters value looks like this:
    private static void changeParameters(ReportClientDocument reportClientDoc) throws ReportSDKException {
              DataDefController dataDefController = reportClientDoc.getDataDefController();
            Fields fields = dataDefController.getDataDefinition().getParameterFields();
            for( int i = 0; i < fields.size(); i++ ){
                Field field = (Field)fields.getField( i );
                if( field.getKind() == FieldKind.parameterField ){
                            setParameter( ((ParameterField)field).getName(), "9825" , reportClientDoc);
    private static void setParameter( String paramName, String paramValue, ReportClientDocument document ) throws ReportSDKException {
         ParameterFieldController paramFieldController =
                    document.getDataDefController().getParameterFieldController();
         paramFieldController.setCurrentValue( "", paramName, paramValue );
    We have tried the following codes to change the connection info used in commands:
    Attempt 1
              Tables tables = databaseController.getDatabase().getTables();
              //Set the datasource for all main report tables.
              for (int i = 0; i < tables.size(); i++) {
                   ITable table = tables.getTable(i);
                   //Keep existing name and alias.
                   table.setName(table.getName());
                   table.setAlias(table.getAlias());
                   //Change connection information properties.
                   IConnectionInfo connectionInfo = table.getConnectionInfo();
                   //Set new table connection property attributes.
                   connectionInfo.setAttributes(propertyBag);
                   //Set database username and password.
                   //NOTE: Even if these the username and password properties don't change when switching databases, the
                   //database password is *not* saved in the report and must be set at runtime if the database is secured.
                   connectionInfo.setUserName(DBUSERNAME);
                   connectionInfo.setPassword(DBPASSWORD);
                   connectionInfo.setKind(ConnectionInfoKind.SQL);
                   table.setConnectionInfo(connectionInfo);
                   //Update old table in the report with the new table.
                   databaseController.setTableLocation(table, tables.getTable(i));
                   //databaseController.setTableLocation(tables.getTable(i), table);
    Attempt 2
             newConnectionInfo.setAttributes(propertyBag);
             connectionInfo.setUserName(DBUSERNAME);
             connectionInfo.setPassword(DBPASSWORD);
             //preserve subreport links
             SubreportController src = doc.getSubreportController();
             Map<String, SubreportLinks> linkMapper = new HashMap<String,SubreportLinks>();
             for(String subreportName : src.getSubreportNames()){
                 linkMapper.put(subreportName,
                     (SubreportLinks) src.getSubreportLinks(subreportName).clone(true));
             //If this connection needed parameters, we would use this field.
             Fields<IParameterField> pFields = doc.getDataDefController().getDataDefinition().getParameterFields();
             replaceConnectionInfos(doc.getDatabaseController(), newConnectionInfo, pFields);
             IStrings strs = src.getSubreportNames();
             Iterator<String> it = strs.iterator();
             while (it.hasNext()) {
               String name = it.next();
               ISubreportClientDocument subreport = src.getSubreport(name);
               pFields = subreport.getDataDefController().getDataDefinition().getParameterFields();
               replaceConnectionInfos(subreport.getDatabaseController(), newConnectionInfo, pFields);
             //reconnect subreport links since when using replaceConnection links are erased
             for(String subreportName : src.getSubreportNames())
               src.setSubreportLinks(subreportName, linkMapper.get(subreportName));
    private static void replaceConnectionInfos(DatabaseController aDc, IConnectionInfo aNewConnInfo, Fields<IParameterField> aParameterField) throws ReportSDKException {
             ConnectionInfos cis = aDc.getConnectionInfos(null);
             for (IConnectionInfo oldConnInfo : cis)
               aDc.replaceConnection(oldConnInfo, aNewConnInfo, aParameterField, DBOptions._useDefault
                   + DBOptions._doNotVerifyDB);
    In both cases, the observed problem occurred. In one query the parameter was set properly, while on the other it was set to 0 (or empty string in case of string parameters). What is more, no data appeared on the print.
    Do you happen to know the reason of this issue?How can we fix the problem?

  • How can I get Status of the report using after report trigger

    I want to get Status of my report on GUI . I am aware that we can look into XMLP_SCHED_OUTPUT table to get all the required details but I am not aware as how I can pull data from this table and make it available on GUI screen. Or is there any way to use jobid of the report and use in Data template of the same report?
    Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

    What/which GUI? One of your own making? Design it and query from the table(s) of interest, and populate fields based on the results. Which job ID? The latest or one of your choosing? Add a drop down list or menu and let the user select which job. Fairly vague requirements you've listed.

  • How to provide the data directly for the report using web service

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to execute a report from the webservice API (using BIP version 10.1.3.4) and want to provide the report with a pre-fetched data set. According to the Dev-Guide, I should use element /ReportRequest/reportData for this, but I can't find a proper example illustrating this use case. The problem is that I don't know how to enter my data set into the element. My data set is xml (text) while the data type of the reportData element is base64binary.
    I've tried something like the following, but without any success:
    ...<reportData>
           <ns1:rowset>
               <ns1:row>
                   <ns1:emp>
                      <ns1:name>
                   </ns1:emp>
               </ns1:row>
           </ns1:rowset>
       </reportData>
    ...Any help is highly appreciated.

    Hello,
    Thanks for your answer, the situation is a little different from what you describe.
    We make a call to BI Publisher via a Web Service (PublicReportService) via the ReportRequest operation.
    The report we call contains a query to a database.
    When we do not include XML in the reportData field then the report data is obtained from the Database and the report result is returned via the Web Service.
    !http://s3.amazonaws.com/twitpic/photos/full/2863197.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=0ZRYP5X5F6FSMBCCSE82&Expires=1235722431&Signature=oboPzLWqQDwB2AGCDCAj3ujHRi4%3D!
    When, however, we include XML data in the reportData field, then we see that ONLY the XML data in the reportData field is used, and NOT data from the Database.
    !http://twitpic.com/img/1pzrp-81573d3dde07b9b643d91800cf2715ef.49a79f9e-original.jpg!
    Is there a possibility to combine the two?

    This is how you retrieve all the text fields in the reort:
    ReportObjects reportObjects = (ITextObject) oReportClientDocument.getReportDefController().getReportObjectController().getReportObjectsByKind(ReportObjectKind.text);
    for(int i=0; i< reportObjects.size();i++)
    ITextObject textObject = (ITextObject)reportObjects.get(i);
    // use ReportObjectController to modify the text object.
    If you want to modify the contents of the text element, you can do it as follows:
    TextObject oTextObject = new TextObject();
    Paragraphs oParagraphs = new Paragraphs();
    Paragraph oParagraph = new Paragraph();
    ParagraphElements oParagraphElements = new ParagraphElements();
    ParagraphTextElement oParagraphTextElement = new ParagraphTextElement();
    oParagraphTextElement.setText("This is the new text field");
    oParagraphTextElement.setKind(ParagraphElementKind.text);
    oReportClientDocument.getReportDefController().getReportObjectController().modify(textObject, oTextObject);
    oReportClientDocument.save();

  • Restrict the report to a time interval containing current date

    hi all,
    we have a time dependent master data object, for which there are two records in the master data for two different time interval for example
    comp valid_to valid_from amount
    ab00  10/12/2006  01/01/100 100
    ab00  31/12/9999  11/12/2006 200
    now we want to show only those record for which the current date lies in the time interval (valid_to and valid_from) i.e only the second record should be present in the report.
    how can we achieve this at the query level.
    any help will be appreciated.
    thanks,
    Rk

    Hi RK,
    Use Query Key Date(give current date) then it will only pics data which falling into that perticulr interval(Valid from & Valid to).
    You can add Key Date, at Query Properties--> show variable.
    Please check : [Query Properties|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/Helpdata/EN/07/0ab63c71f41d5ce10000000a114084/content.htm]

  • Dynamically change the time value in the report used on user's locale?

    Hello
    Just a question as I have been thinking about a lot of new scenarios in OBIEE. This is an open discussion and I'd like to learn from you experts on this...
    Let's say I have a report that has date, time, and stock.
    The date and time are stored in a time dimension in the DB.. I also have a user table in the DB that stores user's information for authentication purpose.. The stock comes from a fact table..
    So let's say it is 9am in NYC when the stock market is opened, and my company's stock value is $10/share at 9am est, April 20th.
    Then I have a user who is in California, he logs on to his system at 9am pst, he show see the stock value at 9am pst, which is actually 12pm est. Then I can have a user from India, or Japan or UK that their local time may be the next day already..
    If they are all coming to the same stock report and select the date and time filter say "April 20th", "9am", the resulting stock value should not be $10 like it would be for NYC users. It should be a different value corresponding to the stock value at a different est time after converting the local time zone to est..
    If I want to implement this, how would i go about it?
    Should The data loaded into the date dimension be kept at 1 standard time zone?
    How would the system automatically know what time zone when an user logged in to the system?
    Where does the conversion take place?
    In summary, what would be an overall process at a high level to implement such thing?
    Please share your thoughts..
    Thank you

    Hi Careen,
    You have to go for Controller extension and add a firePartialAction event for that item,
    get the handle of that event then get the bean handle where you want to set the value
    and set the value to that bean.
    Or you can get the VO handle and set the field's attribute(may be name) and its Form attribute(may be id).
    Thanks,
    With regards,
    Kali.

  • Issue in using presentation variable as filter condition in the reports

    Hi,
    I have an issue in using presentation variable as filter condition in my reports the details are as follows:
    Details :
    We want to implement the Max and Min variables through Presentation variables only.we do not want to implement it through session variables in this case.
    We have two variables MIN and MAX to be used as Presentation Variables,for a column of the report (which is a quantity),so that the user wants to see the data for this column within a particular range.i.e the Min and the Max.This part has been implemented well . The issue is when the user wants to see the full data.In that case we will not pass any values to these two Presentation Variable or in other words we are not restricting the report data so we are not passing any value to the variables,this is when the report is throwing the error. we want to leave this variables blank in that case.but this is giving error.
    Please suggest how can I overcome this issue.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Praveen

    i think you have to use guided navigation for this. create two reports first is the one you are having currently and second is the one in which remove the presentation variable from the column formula. i.e. the same report with no aggregation applied.
    Now create a dummy report and make it return value only when the presentation variable value is not equal to max or min. guide the report to navigate between the first and second report based on the result of the dummy report.
