Restriction of back ground from end user

Hi all, i am ABAPer, but i need  to work on authorization issue,
I have to restrict our FI End users (8 users) from the back ground job,
At present scenario is they can run others job also in SM35 including thier job, recently our company aduit found this given the below solution
Excessive batch job authorisation was given to end users (End users should be restricted from the object S_BTCH_ADM and S_BTCH_NAM which allows them to release and schedule jobs using other usersu2019 ID)
when i go thorugh i chenged the value S_BCTH_ADM as N and S_BCTH_NAM as *
and S_BTCH_JOB as LIST,RELE,PROT.
Kindly give me the solution <removed_by_moderator>

> Is there any possiblity to restrict the naming convention of background job ie in the sm36 screen Jobname coloumn if i want to restrect with a particular naming convention is int possible example Z:XYZ is the first part of the job name.
AFAIK you can only restrict this for JOBACTION 'SHOW' and this would only work if your JOBGROUP field was already populated with a value.
The name of the job would not work. So I would say that you need to arrange that organizationally.
I think way back a few years ago there was a thread here about this and the possibility of using the user's ID as the JOBGROUP value - but if I remember correctly it was disbanded as being impractical.
So the answer is most likely: No.
Cheers,
Julius

  • Read query string from End User Menu

In our IdM application, I want to be able to read a variable passed in a query string.
The string is part of the JSP page which takes the user back to the end user menu (user/main.jsp).
Is there a way for the end user menu to read a value from a query string?
Or can user/main.jsp be modified to pass the value from the query string to the end user menu?

    can you brief ur requirement?

  • Using Reports from End User Console.

I want to show the reports tab and the sub tabs in the end user console.
I have copied the reports folder into the user folder and have modified the "End User Navigation" form , giving the URL of all the jsps.
By this I can see the reports tab in the End user console, but when I click the tab, it redirects to the Admin console login page, and after logging into Admin console login page only I can navigate the other report sub tabs.
Please let me know if there is any way to use the reports from End user console, without the secondary loging (into Admin console).

Do you have to implement whole report TAB or do you want to run only one report.

  • Accessing Work Items assigned to other users from end user page

    Hello Experts,
We are using Sun IDM 6.0 SP1 at our client place. Most of the applications integrated with IDM are manually provisioned, in the sense, once after all the necessary approvals are received the request will be assigned to a group of provisioners, they will manually connect to the requested application and create the account in native system. There are more than 100 such provisioners in the organization.
Current design is to assign a work item to all the provisioners (like Multi approval) and once a provisioner assigns the request to himself then the corresponding work item will be taken out from other provisioners approval queue. These provisioners login to end user page of Sun IDM to access their approval queue as only the end user page is SSO enabled.
Because of the large number of requests in the system (more than 50k) and each request having 100 work items, the number of work items in the system is huge and thus the performance of the system is very poor so we are working to change the design to bring down the number of work items in the system.
Customer is not convinced to have a dedicated person who can get all these work items in his queue and assign it to the appropriate provisioner, they are looking to have a solution something similar to the current one in which all the provisioner can see all the requests in the system and they can pick from it and assign to them.
So we are thinking to create a generic id in the system and assign all the work items to that id, and make changes to the “end user work items list” file so that all the provisioner can see the work items that are assigned to them as well as that generic id.
But for some reason I’m not getting the work items assigned to other users in the end users page. I have tried assigning all the capabilities to logged in user and tried some code changes in “end user work item list” page.
Please share if you have any sample code which can list the work items assigned to other users in end user page. Also please let me know if there is any better alternate to this problem.

    Hi,
There is a option to find and get other user's workitems. Please check the attestation and remediation tab. Use the form portion from attestation page and add it in the Work item list form. This will enable to the user to search for another user's workiteams and assign it to him/her manually. (The user needs to be assigned proper admin rights)
To get all the workitems, in the system, you will need to query the repository for all the workitems.... but not sure it will be a good idea in your case as the volume is very high.
    Hope it helps
    Regards
    Arjun

  • How can I hide the provisioning tab from end users?

    Hi,
Can someone tell me if it's possible to hide the "provisioning tab" within FIM? End users do not need to see this.
I know how to modify RCDCs to hide individual fields, but I'm not sure about entire tabs.
    Thanks in advance

  • How to hide detailed exception report on production system from end user

    Dear all,
We have developed a Web Dynpro Java application for our client.
Now the client would like to make sure that on their production portal (NetWeaver Portal 7.0), if an end user comes across an application exception (or any other exception for that matter), a custom error message or at least a less detailed error message as the standard "500 internal server error" with all exception details is displayed.
I remember that once upon a time, i stumbled across a setting for this - but I just cannot find it anymore...
    Does anyone here know this?
    Any help much appreciated!
    Thanks and best regards

  • Data back up from Single User Mode

    Hello,
I have a problem with my 700 MHz iBook, dual USB, with OS X 10.3.9.
Unfortunately the OS doesn't start up because of "overlapped extent allocation" problem...
I would like to re-install the complete OS but before doing it, I would like to back up some directories.
Is it possible to save some data, by connecting an Ipod or some sort of external peripheral, from the Single User mode?
If yes, how can I do it?
Thank you in advance from your kind support.

Before giving up the ghost check out these:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25770.
Manually fix Overlapped Extent Allocation Errors without Disk Warrior
Overlapped overlapped extent allocation errors can be the bane of any Mac user's existence. Often, these errors go unnoticed until the problem becomes visible: your Mac might refuse to boot, crash unexpected, or worse, critical data might disappear from the Finder. Disk Utility can detect, but not fix overlapped extent allocation errors, and certain third-party utilities, such as Alsoft Diskwarrior, can fix them, but generally without reporting the consequences.
Overlapped extent allocation error occur when the file system thinks that two files are occupying the same area on the hard disk, hence overlapping on the same "inode," which is the structure which holds the location of the data blocks the file occupies, and also file permissions and flags.
Clearing the "overlapped" or "overallocated" extent allocation essentially means that you'll have to lose some data, because the only way to remove the overlap is to delete the file that's occupying the inode. So, if you suspect, or find out, that the guilty file is a critical system file that resides in one of the hidden system directories such as /etc /var /usr/ or visible system directories such as /System or /Library, and you don't want to reinstall the whole OS (which might not fix the overlapped extent allocation anyway), it's good to have another disk available to copy the files back to your original disk if necessary: a second bootable hard drive or a firewire drive connected to your Mac when you remove the misbehaving file. Just make sure that when you copy the file back to your boot disk that the permissions are correct, so it's best to use the "ditto" command, so that all sticky bits, flags, and permissions are preserved.
In case you didn't know, you don't have to boot from an install CD in order to check for overlapped extent allocations. All you need to do is restart your Mac, while holding down command + S to boot in "single-user mode."
At the command prompt that appears, type:
    $ fsck -fy
If you have an overlapped extent allocation, you'll see:
    "Overlapped Extent Allocation" (File 123456d)
No matter how many times you run fsck -fy, you'll never be rid of the error.
So, simply issue the following command:
    find / -inum 123456 -print
Note the "d" was dropped, or any extra letter that appears after the inode number.
The find will return a file name that matches with the inode number, and the path to that file. If you remove the file then the fsck will not return this error next time you run it.
However, before you can delete the file(s) in single-user mode, you'll need to mount the file system. Type:
    $ mount -uw /
When done, issue the "sync" command, and that will flush the write cache so that all pending writes are written from memory to the disk. Also, since most OS X 10.3 Macs use the HFS+ Journaled file system, it might be a good idea to disable the journal before booting into single-user mode by typing:
    $ sudo diskutil disableJournal /
then re-enable it when done fixing the overlapped extents and rebooting normally:
    $ sudo diskutil enableJournal /

If you own Disk Warrior then it should be able to repair a drive with overlapped extents.
There are two backup utilities included in Unix - psync and rsync. You will find them in the /usr/bin/ directory. For documentation simply enter: man psync or man rsync. In order to write data while in single-user mode you need to issue the command: /sbin/mount/ -uw / (Note: there is a "space" between the "uw" and the "/".) To mount an external drive you will need to provide the mountpoint for it in place of the "/", e.g., "/Volumes/volname") without the quotes.

My video must have java v 1.4. I have tried v13 of 1.4 but no luck. Going to newer Java SE prevents the app from running.
From where can I download an update utility? I don't know what to look for.
    Running winXP sp2.
    thanks for any help

    Hi
thank you for the replies !!!!!
It turns out to be an application error in the database which has to be cleared/reset with a utility from the software vendor.
This was a clean install of the app. I have installed it several times before without this problem.
thank you for taking the time to help me out !!!!!!

  • Hiding Document versions from End user

    Hi
    I am in EP6 SP2 Patch 4 Hotfix 7 and CM Patch 4 Hotfix 4.
We are utilising the "Version Management" feature within Content Management.
After enabling "versioning" feature for the folder, I am able to upload multiple versions of the same document as a Content Owner/Administrator.
I am also able to see the different versions of the same document by clicking on to the Settings - Versions of the document.
However an enduser who has only "read" rights for a folder is also able to go into the document details and see the versions. I need to prevent this since he should be only restricted to see the latest version of the
    document.
How can I control this ?
    Regards,
    Rajan.K

    Hi Rajan,
When you activate the state management on that folder, you should get the desired behaviour. It is sufficient to activate the workflow without assigning approval steps.
If this doesn't work, you should verify, if the corresponding repository manager has the services state management and feedback assigned.
And be aware that you probably have to modify the service permissions of that folder as well, because normally everybody has full control. Change it to subscription only and check, if this works.
    Hope that helps,
    Stefan

  • How to Run a Custom Transaction in Back Ground after give the Input?

    Hi,
I have problem that how to execute a Custom Transaction in Back Ground after end user will save a variant for input. In my Transaction there is no menu to save a Variant & to Execute in Back Ground.
Please suggest me how to do this in my Custom Transaction.

    Hi Ramana,
what kind of report you want to  execute? the report is Executable Report or Modulepool prog. ??
if it is a executable program so when u execute (F8) from SE38 when u find the selection-screen in the menu bar ->Program ->Execute in Background( F9) option exits there u can schedule your report in Background or else use toce SM36 ( Define Background Job).
Why you want to run it in background with transaction code if you have this options?

  • Back ground purchase requisation from pm order

    Hi Sap gurus,
Please explain what are the settings required to generate a purchase requistion in back ground from PM work order
    Regards,
    Krishna

    Hi,
First in MM create a PR documenttype which is using for maintenance orders and assign this in SPRO - Under maint.and service orders-generaldata-Define Account Assignment Cat. and Document Type for Purchase Requisitions.
This way you can create PR against maintenance order.
But you have set the configuration whether PR is to be generated once you release the order or immediatly onc eyou save the order and also whether you need collective requisition or independent requisition.
Consider above points based upon bussiness.
    Hope you got an idea.
    Regards,
    Pardhu.
