Restriction of charachteristic value in BEx

Hi!
I only know first 2 symbols of charachteristic value.
How can I restrict charachteristic value in BEx by these symbols?
For example, restrict by AB*.

Hi,
Chech in SDN, create Customer Exit Variable and write code in CMOD.
Using CP in variable user exit
Eg:
When 'ZGLA'.
   IF I_STEP = 2.
     Clear l_s_range.
     l_s_range-LOW = 'AB*'.
     l_s_range-OPT = 'CP'.
     l_s_range-SIGN = 'I'.
     Append l_s_range to e_t_range.
      ENDIF.

  • How to restrict the particular value in BEx?

    HI,
    I have added particular dimension in query prompt. While refreshing i got more value in particular dimension. How to restrict the the value in bobj or bex?
    Here i attached the screen shot. Please find the attachment.

    Hi Mani,
    Please make sure of your requirement. If you are using only one single query for multiple reports then i strongly recommend the below criteria or else it better to restrict the value in the BEx itself if you have no other reports on the same BEx query.
    If you are trying to restrict a report to a default prompt value then use equal to in query filter prompt or you can also restrict them to list of values i.e multiple values.Please follow as per the screens below. I am mentioning two ways.
    Method:1
    Step 1: Click on Prompt Options(Blue Questionmark Symbol)
    Step: 2 : Click on the Values after you check the prompt properties options as shown below.
    Step 3: Search for values if they are keys by checking the "Search in keys" or else not required.
    Method 2: Here is another Easy way is Just give the input in the value box as shown below.
    Let me know if you need any further help.

    Naveen

  • How to restrict the Null Values for Key Figules in the Bex Query

    Hi Friends,
        I want to restrict the Null values of a perticular key figure in the Bex Query Output.
    I will explain in details. i have 3 key figures in my query.. let us assume.. key1 key2key3
    key1           key2                key3
    4                4                   100.00
    5                0                   200.00
    1                0                    19.00
    0                1                    10.00
    i don't want to see the the records for which key 2 is 0.
    we have a setting in the Bex Query for restricting the Zero values in the query properties. If we enable that setting it will show
    4               4          100.00
    but i want the report to display..
    4               4           100.00
    0               1           10.00

  • Default value of BeX customer Exit variable not Displayed in WeBI??

    Hello Experts,
    We are stuck with a problem where WeBI report is created on top of BeX query and we are not able to see the default value of Bex Customer exit variable in WeBI run. Here is the complete scenario:
    1. One restricted KF is created in BeX, restricted with Customer exit variable on net Due date. And this variable is mandatory, ready for input, and Default value in calculated is user exit as current Week's Monday.
    2. So, by default KF data should be restricted to Monday of current week, if user does not change this value.
    3. Now, WeBI report is created on top of this Bex query, and all is working fine, i.e. we are getting variable as Prompt in WeBI, but Default value is not shown while Running the Webi Report.
    So, need your inputs on the same, if default values from BeX in WeBI is supported or not? If yes, why this is happening, and how to resolve it?
    Please notice, the restrcition is in KF only, it is not a separate restrcition on Net Due date in Filter area or in Defualt area of BeX
    and we are on SAP BW 7.1 and BOXI 3.1 SP4.

    Hi,
    See 1285993 - Support of Customer Exit Variables from BEx query into WebIntelligence via OLAP universe
    WebI will prompt when executed, but the default values calculated by the user exit  - do not appear.
    Note: If the BEx variable has property 'ready for input' set / enabled, then its WebI prompt shows ok, but no default value appears.
    Cause
    This behaviour expected 'by design' (in the context of the product's current limitations) as explained in the online guide below:
    Please refer to Chapter 7, page 44, document link here: http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir3/en/xi3_sap_olap_universes_en.pdf
    Characteristic variable > processing type > Customer Exit  is "Supported, without user entry"
    -->  This should be understood as meaning "User will not be shown a prompt"

  • Restrict 1 Charachteristic per class in assigned object

    Hi Gurus,
    I am using clasification system for reporting in vendors. I have created a class with class type 010 and assigned charachterictics to the class. When I assign this class to the object, i.e Vendor. I want the asignment of charachteristic value to be restricted one charachteristic and one value therein.
    I want to assign just one value of a characteristic, the we sholud be ablle to assin multiple charachterisitc pertaining to a specifc class. The end result should one valu from any one of the charachterisic of a specific class.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Abdul Kadir Rajbhoy

    Create multiple class with class type 010 and assign only one characteristics for each of the class.
    e.g:
    Class: CL1 - Assign Characteristics CHAR1
    Class: CL2 - Assign Characteristics CHAR2
    Class: CL3 - Assign Characteristics CHAR3
    Class: CL4 - Assign Characteristics CHAR3
    In the vendor class assignment, chhose one of the class and assign values to the characteristics.

  • How to Add a New Filter Value in BEx WAD to Display All Result

    Hi experts,
    I want to add a new filter value in BEx WAD to display all data records. The scenario is as follows:
    The status field can have two values: Active ("A) and Inactive ("I").
    But the requirement is to have a third value to display all the data records (Active + Inactive). E.g. the value can be "G". The purpose is to increase the understandability for report users.
    Does anyone have an idea?
    Regards,
    Joon

    Hi Vineet,
    thanks for your reply. The problem is that there are only 2 values available for this Characteristic: "A" or "I".
    The requirement is to have a third value "G" (instead of the default "All Value") due to historical reason, because all future report users have been working with R/3 reports for quite some time and they are accustomed to using "G" for displaying all values.
    Is there any possibility to realize this?
    Thanks,
    Joon

  • How to restrict the dropdown values in Att/abs type in Record Working Time

    Hello experts,
    We are implementing ESS business package.  In the Record Working time, within the Weekly View and Daily View tabs, there is a column Att/abs.type which has several drop down values - like:  floating value, Funeral Leave, Military Reserve, Regular Attendance, etc.   Our requirement is to restrict the dropdown values  by means of showing only one of these values (say:  Regular Attendance) and others should not be shown.   How do we achieve this?
    Thanks

    Hi Siddarth,
    Thanks for the info.  By the way, this table info is not mentioned in the Business Package documentation.  Which documentation are you referring to?

  • How to restrict the duplicate values in lov column of VO based Adv Table

    Hi Gurus,
    I want to restrict the duplicate values at lov which is a colunm in an Adv Table.
    If user enters duplicate values then first it should show an error msg that Duplicate values have been entered.
    After the duplicate values have been removed, then the user can save all the values in the table.
    My Adv Table is based on a VO.
    The link how to restrict the duplicate values at form level
    talks about Adv Table based on a EoVO, which doesnot work in my case.
    My Approach,
    I am iterating through RowSetIterator and committing through PROCEDURE.
    I am able to avoid duplicate entry through a function checkRespId. (given below)
    Below code is for iterating and committing.
    public void saveline(String reqid,String userid)
    System.out.println("RequestId/saveline"+reqid);
    System.out.println("UserId/saveline"+userid);
    OAViewObject vo = (OAViewObject)getRespLineVO1();
    RespLineVORowImpl row = null;
    int fetchedRowCount = vo.getFetchedRowCount();
    RowSetIterator deleteIter = vo.createRowSetIterator("deleteIter");
    if (fetchedRowCount > 0)
    deleteIter.setRangeStart(0);
    deleteIter.setRangeSize(fetchedRowCount);
    for (int i = 0; i < fetchedRowCount; i++)
    System.out.println("Inside the for LOOP");
    row = (RespLineVORowImpl)deleteIter.getRowAtRangeIndex(i);
    String respoidid = row.getAttribute("ResponsibilityId")+"";
    String respname = row.getAttribute("ResponsibilityName")+"";
    String stdate = row.getAttribute("StartDate")+"";
    String enddate = row.getAttribute("EndDate")+"";
    String linestatus ="A";
    if(userid!=null)
    if(!(respoidid.equals("null")) && respoidid!=null)
    String checkingrespid=null;
    checkingrespid = checkRespId(userid,respoidid);+contains no if not duplicate and yes if its duplicate+
    System.out.println("checkingrespid for Resp with ID :"+respoidid+"exists or not "+checkingrespid);
    if(checkingrespid.equals("No"))
         String message, result = null;
    Connection txn = getOADBTransaction().getJdbcConnection();
    try
    calling PROC ...
    catch(Exception e)
    message = "Error in Inserting into line" + e;
    throw new OAException(message, OAException.ERROR);
    else
    throw new OAException("You have entered duplicate no. of values", OAException.ERROR);
    else
    System.out.println("respoidid is null");
    break;
    deleteIter.closeRowSetIterator();
    public String checkRespId(String userid,String respoidid)
    String createRow="No";
    OAViewObject vo = (OAViewObject)findViewObject("CheckRespVO1");
    if (vo != null)
    vo.setWhereClauseParams(null);
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(0, userid);
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(1, respoidid);
    vo.executeQuery();
    System.out.println("ROW COUNT IS "+vo.getRowCount());
    if(vo.getRowCount()>0)
    createRow="Yes";
    else
    createRow="No";
    return createRow;
    Problem:
    I remove the duplicate entries and click on save and get this error.
    Unable to perform transaction on the record. \nCause: The record contains stale data. The record has been modified by another user.
    \nAction: Cancel the transaction and re-query the record to get the new data.
    Thanks,

  • How to make empty values in Bex to zero so that WEbI also has 0

    Hi
    I have a webI report on Bex query, some of the values in the columns are empty in Bex, so even the webI report is showing blank values. But when i want to calculate totals, avg, or alerts on that column in WebI then I need to write a formula for each measure saying
    if(isnull([keyfigure])) then o else [keyfigure]
    It is working in WebI but lot of custom work need to be done, instead is there any setting in Bex or WebI saying that columns with the "blank" values in Bex should be shown as "0" in the webI report column?

    Hi,
    Take a look here:
    Re: Fill empty cell with '0'
    Steps to fill empty cell with '0':-
    1. Select intersection cell in cross tab.
    2. Go to properties tab.
    3. In Text Format section, click on Number Format button.
    4. Select Format type is 'Number' and check the Custom check box.
    5. Enter 0 in all text boxes(Positive, Negative, Equal to zero, and Undefined).
    6. Click ok.
    Now you can see 0 in the Emply cells of cross tab.
    If you want decimal values, enter 0.00 in Positive box.

  • DP91(RRB) Restrict DMR Billing value to Sales Order Net Value

    Hi Experts,
    My Requirement is, while creating a DMR using transaction DP91 (Resource Related Billing), I need to  restrict the DMR value to the sales order Net Value. i.e If there are already billed DMR'S we should check all the billing documents value, sum it up with present DP91 billing value (Say X). Check it against Sales order net value.
    IF Sales order net value is more than already billed value or to be billed value(X), then optimize the DIP items within available billing value (Planning to use bin packing algorithm) and postpone remaining items for next billing cycle.
    If Sales order net value is less than already billed value or to be billed value(X), postpone all DIP items for next billing cycle ie dont allow any billing.
    I found the Enhancement AD010007 Change DI Processing Information (EXIT_SAPLAD15_015). But it triggers for each item and here sales order related data is not available neither all DIP item data. All DIP data is flowing from WBS assigned in Sales Order item into DP91.
    Regards,
    Mahesh

    Hi,
    You can make use of data transfer routines in copy control from billing document to sales document.
    Data transfer routine - 403 (FV45C403) is used for copying billing plan dates from from a reference billing document into the target document.  This routine can be assigned to the FPLA copy rules for the item category from a billing document to a sales document.
    You may enhance this routine to add net value field to be copied into credit memo document. In your case, net amount (100) can be pulled from invoice into credit memo document.

  • Prompt: Restriction on multiple values selection

    Hi All,
    I want to restrict number of values selection on multi value selection prompt.
    How could I achive that,Please guide.
    Thanks in advance.
    Amruta

    Amruta,
    Amr is right, however, if your requirement is that the user is to select no more than two at any time, you might try this approach:
    Use the prompt but the operator is "=" (equal) versus "in" and use two prompts connected with an "or".  If the user only wants to select one item, then they can be told to use the same value for the first prompt and second prompt (choose "lion" first, and choose "lion" second) -- because they are connected with an "or" there is no ill effect other than an inefficient "where" clause generated.
    If you are required to provide more flexibility than just two items, then you are stuck in being able to limit selections when a list is presented and you're using "in" as the operator.
    Thanks,
    John

  • Getting wrong values  for decimal value in Bex report

    Hi,
         I am getting some problem in Bexreport decimal values.
       In ODS i am able to look the values for this key figure
      (Total PO Release Val)= 140.692,00,the same value in Bex report looks like this $ 140,692.00.
         Here one calculation is going with these above values
       % Used = 'Total PO Release Val' / 'Target Value' * 100
        as per ODS value calculation  it is correct = 140.692/1000 * 100 =14.692
       as per Bex  it is coming like this = 140,692.00/1000 *100 = 142.692.
        in Bex report Percentage valus is not considering value is taking as 140,692.00 rather than 140.692.I mean to say decemal values are ignoring while calculation in Bexreport.can you any please advice me how to comeout of this problem.Appreciate your help.
    Regards
    Ramesh

    <i> "(Total PO Release Val)= 140.692,00,the same value in Bex report looks like this $ 140,692.00."
    </i>
    How do you check the ODS value? The amount will only have two decimal places after it, so you can't have a value like 140.692,00. It seems to be an issue of user's decimal notation (where decimal is represented by comma, and thousand seperator by '.'). Go to user profile, change this setting (in default tab) to correct one (ie decimal being represented by '.') and login again and check it. The value that you see in ODS is 'one hundred forty thousand six hundred ninety two, the same that you get in Bex, only the representation is different).
