Retreiving the deleted Report

Hi Everyone,
I've been trying to retrieve  a workbook which was deleted in cleaning process.(While deleting the QUERIES which were not been used since 14 months).
There is a Program which does this operation. Accidentally, One of the Customer's Report was deleted from his FAVORITES. Which has the complete analysis since 2003.
Now I am trying all possible ways to retrieve the lost REPORT(workbook).
I think its necessary to know where  the program physically deletes the queries and workbooks.
Is it in Database BW or elsewhere ?
The possibility to recover the workbook depends on where the queries and workbooks are stored.
NOTE: The workbook was in the Favorites of End-User.
Somebody please help me out  with the possible solutions.
Thanks
Ravi

Ravi,
It depends on whether you just deleted the "pointer" to the workbook from the Favorites, or whether you actually deleted the workbook object. From your description, I assume it is the latter. However, if you only deleted the workbook from the Favorites, all you have to do is find the Workbook ID (e.g. RSA1 -> Metadata Repository -> Workbook) and recreate the link to this workbook, probably by temporarily adding it to a role first, then copying it to Favorites from there.
If you really deleted the workbook object, the next best approach would be to see if anyone kept a copy of the Excel file for the report. If so, you can use that to resave the workbook as a BW object. Open the BEx Analyzer, then open the Excel file with the report and choose "Enable Macros", then click on the Save button on the BW tollbar and choose "Save As New Workbook".
If neither of those approaches work, you may end up having to recreate the workbook from scratch (or at least from the closest existing workbook).
Good luck -- hope this helps...

  • How to recover the deleted reports from crystal reports XIR2

    Hi,
    There have been few crystal reports have been deleted from crystal environment and i would like to know how to recover them. please advice the best possible ways to recover them. CMS repositoty in SQL server database
    thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Krishna

    Hope, your question is this "How to recover the deleted Crystal reports in XI R2".
    Answer for this question is...
    Yes, it is possible if you have backup of your CMS and FRS.
    Copy the CMS database from the backup to your database server and point the CMS ODBC system DSN to it.
    Copy the backed up file store to a Temp directory.
    Change the path of input and output file repository servers in the CMC, for each server, to the Temp file store directory.
    You will now be able to find the reports. Copy those reports to the BO server's local disk, or create a BIAR file using the Import Wizard.
    Point the ODBC system DSN back to the original database and also change the paths on input file repository and output file repository servers back to their original locations.
    Publish the reports to Enterprise from the BusinessObjects server's local hard disk.

    Check in these tables
    RSZELTDIR -   Directory of the reporting component elements
    RSZELTTXT -   Texts of reporting component elements
    RSZELTXREF-  Directory of query element references

  • GRR3 Deleted Report Painter report

    I deleted a Report Painter report in GRR2.  It no longer exists in table T008 or assigned to any report group.  However, the deleted report still appears in GRR3 under the respective library.  How can we remove permanently a deleted report from GRR3?

    Okay, good to know.  Now I have to figure out how to import an updated version of library, or the whole Report Painter tools.  Thank you Navneet for indirectly helping me resolve the problem.
    Problem is (indirectly) solved.

    Flashback Query
    example
    SELECT * FROM employee AS OF TIMESTAMP

  • Deleted Items Appearing on the FBL3n Report for Open Items

    Hi All
    We just went live and I am facing a huge issue;
    I deleted many migration entries from loads of GL Accounts for multiple Co Codes, but on the FBL3n report, whenI execute with the option of 'Open Items' only, I  still see the deleted items with a green check sitting there.
    How can i get those from being visible?
    Thanks for the support
    RS

    Hi:
                This is standard behavior. Your GL accounts are managed on line item basis hence despite of the fact you reversed the entries they will continue to be shown in open item selection criteria which in fact are not open items. It makes no sense to see a GL account in FBL3N on open item date since this account has been configured on the basis on line item management and i will continue to be shown as line item with green sign . Execute report FBL3N with open item or with all item (with date you give in open item) you will see the same figures and same line items. However you can exclude the reversed entries by fetching reversed with (BKPF-STBLG) field from menu ..settings...special fields and hence excluding the entries having this filed update.
    I hope this will solve your issue.

  • Data Error in the Query/Report after selective data deletion for infocube

    Hi Experts,
    Please advise what i was missing and what went wrong...
    I got a Query (Forecast) on a Multicube...which is based on 2 Infocubes with Aggregates...
    As i identified some data discrepency..yesteraday i performed selective data deleation on one of the Infocube
    and executed report yesteraday and the results in the query are correct...
    When today i executed the same report i am getting different results..
    When i compared the results of the report with that of data in cube they are not matching
    The report is not displaying the data in cube..for some rows it is displaying the data in the cube but for some rows it is just displaying same as the above row
    there is no data loaded into info cube after selective deleation
    Do i need to perform request compression and fill the aggregated after selective deleation
    Please advise what went wrong

    Hi Venkat,
    No i haven't done anything on aggregates before or after selective delete
    As there is not data load after the selective delete according to SAP Manual we don't need to perform any thing on aggregates...as selective data deletion on cube will delete data from aggregates as well
    Please update how to identify error

  • How to delete the automatically created receipt in the expense report

    Hi experts,
    I am getting an error "no expense type for estimated costs has been defined. cannot save" while creating a travel request for an employee.
    Base on the reply from Raynard which posted on Re: FM for  trip exp
    It's because "The estimated cost in plan and request are now included into fund management. So if you have active funds management, the entered estimated cost are used to make availability check and commitment. Therefore you must create an expense type in view V_T706B1. Under 'amounts are' you have to choose 'estimated cost, no reimbursement to employee'."
    How ever, because the linkage with funds management, I faced the problem and also ckecked out the reason from SAP Help that "After the trip takes place, the user needs to manually delete the automatically created receipt in the expense report."
    Anybody can provide the solution how to automatically delete this receipt before user create the expense report??
    Thanks
    Daniel

    Hi Francis,
    Check the BADI "TRIP_WEB_CHECK" method "USER_CHECK_GENERAL_DATA".
    Here based on the schema you can modify the "estimated cost" field.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to change unlinked subreport with a newer version without having to delete and recreate in the main report?

    I am using crystal reports version 11 and have inherited a report with 5 sub reports. Here we version the each report that contains changes. Is there a way that I can change the pointer for the sub report to the latest version? The person who gave me these reports stated that he deleted the old sub report and inserted the new sub report. The issue with doing this is you lose all you positioning and have to perform these tasks again. This seems like a lot of work especially if the upgrade to the sub report was only cosmetic. If I could update the link with the new report name it would make things easier.
    Appreciate any assistance and thank you

    I had a similar situation where i had 4 different main reports that has 20 sub reports each.
    Best steps i figured out to keep track is:
    1- I do not create a sub report on the fly. (origanlly- sub reports were built by "create a sub report with the report wizard"
    so First i save all the sub-reports independently, and gave them corresponding name to their data fetch.
    On inserting report as a sub report i used the option "Choose an Existing Report"
    2- Since i had 4 different report, i created 4 seprate folders for each report. And then Sub folders for Sub reports.
    3- Any changes in the sub report would have a different copy, and saved with the date stamp. In summary info, Comments section, I will type the update detail.
    For Formatting changes alone:
    I create a fake group inside the report and drop a Text box. The box would have comments about the formatting and suppressed  (only to seen at design mode).
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I restore a chart I deleted from the Summary Report?

    I inadvertently deleted a question from the Summary Report by clicking the little trash can icon and I'd like to get it back. To clarify: the question is still there on the form; I'm just looking to restore the chart on the report.
    Thanks!

    Nope. Macjack's suggestion didn't worked - it's what I tried before coming here.
    I realise I could simply recreate the Smart Search folder, but as indicated - I'm having difficulty recreating the exact same results - it had several conditions to it, and I'm not having much luck with repeating the effect. If nothing comes up - I'll have no choice - but still hoping someone knows of a plain and simple option....

  • How to branch to the delete link in report

    Hi all,
    i have a report with delete button in all rows.when i click the delete button the row should get deleted.
    To achieve this , I have given like this..........
    In the column link
    link text : image of the delete button
    link attributes : &APP_ID.
    In the URL : javascript:confirmDelete('Are u sure u want to delete','f?p=&APP_ID.:7:&SESSION.:DELETE1:&DEBUG.:RP:P7_ACT_NO,P7_EDACTIVITY:#Delete#,-1');
    I have created a delete process : after submit
    with condition request=expression1
    In Expression1 i have given DELETE1
    Problem is: it is not getting deleted and it is asking for branching.
    could any one give a suggestion to achieve this?
    Hope my procedure is correct.If not please correct me.
    Thanks in adance
    bye
    Srikavi

    Hi Srikavi,
    Firstly, two points:
    1 - There are other ways to do this - for example, you could have used a tabular form which provides delete functionality
    2 - Your url says P7_ACT_NO but your delete statement says P7_ACT_NO_1???
    OK - now the process (I haven't done this for deletions, I've done it for insertions, but the principles should be the same).
    1 - You don't need a REQUEST value if page 7 does nothing but delete the data, so your url should be:
    'f?p=&APP_ID.:7:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::P7_ACT_NO,P7_EDACTIVITY:#Delete#,-1'
    2 - On page 7, you should have a region that contains the two items that will receive the data from the url: P7_ACT_NO and P7_EDACTIVITY (you haven't explained what the second field is for!?!?!)
    3 - The region on page 7 should have a button to submit the page. I'll call it P7_BUTTON. When creating the button, you can specify that it branches back to the original report page and repaginates
    4 - In my version, I have hidden the region by adding the following into the region's header:
    <DIV style="display:none;">
    and the following in the region's footer:
    </DIV>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    doSubmit('P7_BUTTON');
    </script>
    I hide the contents of the page so that the user doesn't see anything on screen whilst the deletion is taking place.
    The javascript automatically clicks the button which submits the page.
    5 - Your process to delete should be conditional on P7_BUTTON being clicked - no need to use a REQUEST value
    That should be it.
    Basically, when you click your button, it passes two values to page 7. Because the javascript on page 7 isn't within a function, it will run automatically. This clicks the button, which submits the page. Your delete process kicks in and deletes the record specified in the P7_ACT_NO field. And, finally, the branch (created when you create the button) will return the user to the original reports page
    You could do away with the button and have the process run "Before Header" as long as you are sure that the fields will be populated correctly - in my case, because I'm inserting data, I need to do validation first.

    You can use FM RS_DELETE_PROGRAM in your program and pass all the programs
    that are to be deleted into that FM using TADIR table..
    Alternatively you can create a bdc for the same.
