  • Open URL in new window from page process

    I have a Page process that returns a URL (stored in 'l_val' field). Within this process, what is the best way to open that URL (stored in l_val) in a new window?
    thanks
    DECLARE l_clob clob;
    l_xml xmltype;
    l_val clob;

    l_clob := c1.clob001;
    exit;

    l_xml := xmltype.createxml(l_clob);
    l_val := dbms_xmlgen.convert(

    ).getstringval()
    , 1
    END;

    Hello,
    You can create a application process using this code and call that process from a javascript function and return that URL to the javascript function there you can open a popup easily.
    If you want you can open a popup from process, you can do that using htp.p() function, I had tried this once but what it does was, it opens a popup but it clears out my parent page, I was not be able to see anything on my parent page.
    Thanks

  • Retreive named anchor from On Load page process

    I am trying to utilize named anchors on a page and need to access the named anchor from a PL/SQL page process of type: On Load - Before Header.
    I first tried owa_util.get_cgi_env ('QUERY_STRING') which has been helpful in retrieving GET params, but for a URL like:
    http://host:port/pls/apex/f?p=121:75:3747918990426914:::75:P75_ID:25769#asdf
    it returns:
    http://host:port/pls/apex/f?p=121:75:3747918990426914:::75:P75_ID:25769
    What I actually need is everything else ... in this case: #asdf (or just asdf).
    I don't see anything relevant here either:
    owa_util.print_cgi_env();
    I'm punting now, assuming that there is no way to retrieve these hash url parameters. If somebody has any insight into this, I would greatly appreciate your direction!
    Thanks,
    John

    Could you use location.href in javascript to stuff the URL value into a page ITEM and then substr/instr it out?
    Just a thought.

  • Calling A Page Process From Report Link

    Hello.
    I am using Apex 4.2.1 on Oracle 11gR3 and mod_plsql.
    I am trying to run a PLSQL after-submit page process when users click a SQL generated link in a classical type report.
    For example, my classical report uses the query:
    SELECT
    E.*,
    '<a id="rid" href="f?p=&APP_ID.:31:&SESSION.:ADDROW:::P31_ENAME,P31_MGR,P31_DEPTNO:'
    || E.ENAME
    || ','
    || TO_CHAR(E.MGR)
    || ','
    || TO_CHAR(E.DEPTNO)
    || '">'
    || 'Add New Row'
    || '</a>' AS ADD_ROW
    FROM
    EMP E
    My page also has an after submit PLSQL process defined as:
    declare
      v_empno     integer;
    begin
      select nvl(max(empno), 0) + 1
        into v_empno
        from emp;
      insert into emp (empno,
                       ename,
                       mgr,
                       deptno)
               values (v_empno,
                       substr(:P31_ENAME,1,1) || '-' || to_char(v_empno),
                       to_number(:P31_MGR),
                       to_number(:P31_DEPTNO));
    end;
    This process has the condition "Request = Expression 1", where "Expression 1" = ADDROW.
    I thought that if users click the "ADD_ROW" report link, then the report items ENAME, MGR, and DEPTNO would be passed to corresponding page items.  In addition, the above PLSQL process would be executed and add a new row to the EMP table.  The report then would then display the newly added row.
    But when I click the report link, I see that my page items are, in fact, assigned the associated report values.  But the page process is never executed.
    I have looked at both the Session State page and in Debug mode.  The processing simply never executes my page process.
    Would anyone know why my page process is not being run?  And, how can I get the page process to run when users click the report link?  Indeed, what is the point of even having a REQUEST tage embedded in the url if it is not recognized bt other processes on the page?
    In my apex.oracle.com workspace, I have created an example page in which all of this has been coded:
    Workspace: EEG
    Username: [email protected]
    Password: galaxy123 (all lowercase)
    AppID: 27083 (Elie_Goodies)
    Page 31 (Test Url Request Option)
    I would much appreciate if someone could help me with this as I am puzzled why this is not working.
    Thank you very much.
    Elie

    Hi Elie,
    I think it's fixed.  It was very close. It's just a matter of timing.
    For a REQUEST to be visible after submit you have to submit the page.  Something like apex.submit("ADD_ROW") will do that.
    Then, when the page renders the REQUEST is empty again.
    Same thing with the link, which is what you implemented, the REQUEST is only present during render of the page. Then it's gone when the page is submitted.
    All I had to do is move your Process to run Before Header so that it could "see" the value of the request.  I didn't touch (or look) and any of the code.
    Either On Load Before Header or On Load Before region processing points would have worked here.
    Thanks

  • Download Dialog Box in Page Process

    I know this has been beat to death, but I just can't get it working. I am using Apex 3.0 on iAS 10g on Unix
    I have a report that displays locations and map coordinates and a check box for each line.
    The user checks the lines they want to "Map" and then presses an image button that is within the region items.
    When the button is pressed, this kicks off a Page Process. I do not want put an upload dialog box. I want to write data to a file, then display a dialog box, so the user can save the file wherever they want. The code writes out to the file just fine.
    The Page Process looks like:
    Declare
    v_kml_file Utl_File.File_Type;
    v_dir VarChar2(1000) := 'KML';
    v_name VarChar2(100);
    Begin
    v_kml_file := Utl_File.FOpen(v_dir,'sample.kml','W');
    Utl_File.Put_Line(v_kml_file,'<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>');
    Utl_File.Put_Line(v_kml_file,'<kml xmlns="http://earth.goodle.com/kml/2.1">');
    more Utl_File.Put_lines here
    -- write out the checked lines
    For i In 1..htmldb_application.g_f15.count Loop
    Utl_File.Put_Line(v_kml_file,'htmldb_application.g_f15(i));
    End Loop;
    more Utl_File.Put_Lines here
    owa_util.mime_header('application/octet');
    htp.p('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="sample.kml"');
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    wpg_docload.download_file(v_dir||'sample.kml');
    End;
    When this executes I get The page cannot be found. The url is then http://www.my.website/pls/htmldb/wwv_flow.accept
    I have tried hard-coding the path, using the relative path (the directory is located under htdocs), etc. I've tried using javascript as in examples on this forum. We upload and download documents using packages we have built, but I can't see how to use them for this.
    Any help is appreciated,
    Becky

    John,
    Yes, I looked at that previously. When I implement it, I receive the error ORA-01460: Unimplemented or unreasonable conversion requested. Essentially, the code looks like this:
    Declare
    v_dir2 VarChar2(200) := '/vol/my/directory/htdocs/MYDIR/'; -- tried w/wout the last slash
    x_bfile BFILE;
    n_size Number := 2000;
    x_buffer raw (2000);
    n_pos Number := 1;
    Begin
    x_bfile := BFILENAME(v_dir2,'sample.kml');
    --write stuff out to file
    Begin
    Loop
    dbms_lob.read(x_bfile, n_size, n_pos, x_buffer);
    wpg_docload.download_file(utl_raw.cast_to_varchar2(x_buffer));
    n_pos := n_pos + n_size;
    End Loop;
    End;
    dbms_lob.fileclose(x_bfile);
    End;

  • Using variables in Page processing

    I want to use variables (items) in
    Page processing - process - reset pagination for page(s) (PageID,PageID,PageID)

    Page processing - Branches - Branch to page / URL - URL
    Is this possible, and if so How

    scott,
    On the places I mentioned I have tried to use references like &ITEM. and #ITEM# but they don't work.
    Where can I find documentation about where I can use which references.

  • Calling a page process by clicking a link

    I have an Apex report with multiple rows and a link column in. I'd like to be able to call a page process to do some work on the row with the clicked link... I also need to pass a couple of parameters somehow to the page process as it calls a procedure which requires the parameters to function correctly.
    So -
    When I click a link on a row.. perhaps a couple of hidden page items get set.
    The page is then submitted and my process calls the procedure, using the values of the set items above as its parameters.
    Control is submitted back to the original page.
    So basically I'm trying to give a user the ability to carry out repetitive actions on each row.
    My thought was to use a URL in the link and maybe Javascript.. or am I barking up the wrong tree and is there a better way rather than a link?
    Thoughts?
    Cheers
    Ken

    You have the right idea. JavaScript is the way to go. Assuming that the values that are being passed are part of that row of data, you can construct the call to a JavaScript process.
    Create two hidden items on your page, make sure they are not protected.
    say P1_CITY and P1_STATE
    Say your query included city and state, define a column in the report as a link of target URL with the following url
    javascript:myFunction('#CITY#', '#STATE#');
    Then define a javascript function in the page HTML Header section
    function myFunction(pCity, pState) {
    $x_value('P1_CITY', pCity);
    $x_value('P1_STATE', pState);
    doSubmit('RUNPROC');
    Then have a process on the page does what ever you want and that is conditional on the REQUEST = 'RUNPROC'

  • Progress Bar On Page Process

    Hello
    I have a page process in APEX that takes a while to finish. When I click a button, I want a progress loading widget to appear.
    There is a lot of processing that takes place on this page; however, I only want the progress bar to show when a particular button is pressed for one particular process. I am having trouble getting the progress bar and the process to fire at the same time.
    Process name: P3_REFRESH_AS_TABLE
    /* calls a pl/sql procedure*/
    BEGIN
    PC_ST_PR_POPULATE_ATH_SCHED;
    END;Button Name: P3_REFRESH_TABLE
    I have the Ext JS Library 2.2.1 uploaded to the server.
    This is the progress bar code I am trying to use:
    //==== Progress bar 4 ====
    var pbar4 = new Ext.ProgressBar({
    text:'Waiting on you...',
    id:'pbar4',
    textEl:'p4text',
    cls:'custom',
    renderTo:'p4'
    var btn4 = Ext.get('btn4');
    btn4.on('click', function(){
    Runner.run(pbar4, btn4, 19, function(){
    pbar4.updateText('All finished!');
    });This is the CSS code:
    .status {
    color:#555;
    .x-progress-wrap.left-align .x-progress-text {
    text-align:left;
    .x-progress-wrap.custom {
    height:17px;
    border:1px solid #686868;
    overflow:hidden;
    padding:0 2px;
    .ext-ie .x-progress-wrap.custom {
    height:19px;
    .custom .x-progress-inner {
    height:17px;
    background: #fff;
    .custom .x-progress-bar {
    height:15px;
    background:transparent url(images/custom-bar.gif) repeat-x 0 0;
    border-top:1px solid #BEBEBE;
    border-bottom:1px solid #EFEFEF;
    border-right:0;
    }Any help on this is appreciated
    Regards,
    Kelly

    Thank you Luis and Chris for your response.
    I have been able to successfully use Carl's logic only when the page process is not set to go off when the button associated with the processing bar is clicked. However, there are a few buttons on the page so each time the page gets submitted the page process fires off if it is not associated to a button. Is there a condition I can use that will prevent the process from firing until the button associated to the processing bar is clicked?

    Backing up a moment, is there a particular reason that you're using the JDBC-ODBC bridge rather than using the Oracle JDBC driver?
    Have you taken a look at the JSP sample code available on OTN? I would start by making sure you can run that.

  • Problem with Conditional Page Process

    Application Express 3.1.0.00.32
    I have a conditional page process that whenever a user clicks on the create or save button, certain values are stored in one table and certain are stored in another dependent on the value of a page item.
    If a user opens a record and makes a change to the entry but doesn't change the current status, the information saved differs from when the current status is altered. Since the code, syntaxically, is correct, I'm more incliendeid to think this is an APEX issue however here is the code:

  • Page Processing with multiple tables

    Hello to all sql experts!
    I have been successful in inserting a row into a table and creating the PK using Page Processing. The parent table is called Facility.
    I used the following sql to insert a row into the table and now need to add data to the child tables.
    Parent table==>
    INSERT INTO FACILITY(fac_pk, fac_type, fac_name, street1, city, state, zip, state_or_tribe, tribe_yn)
    VALUES (FAC_SEQ.nextval,
    NVL(:P211_FAC_TYPE, 'N'),
    NVL(:P211_FAC_NAME,'No Data'),
    NVL(:P211_STREET1,'No Data'),
    NVL(:P211_CITY, 'No Data'),
    NVL(:P211_STATE,'CA'),
    NVL(:P211_ZIP,'00000'),
    NVL(:P211_STATE_OR_TRIBE,'CA'),
    NVL(:P211_TRIBE_YN,'N'));
    Child table == >
    INSERT INTO CONTACT(cnt_pk, fullname, street1, city, state, zip, phone, title)
    VALUES (CNT_SEQ.nextval,
    NVL(:P36_FULLNAME, 'No Data'),
    NVL(:P36_STREET1,'No Data'),
    NVL(:P36_CITY, 'No Data'),
    NVL(:P36_STATE,'CA'),
    NVL(:P36_ZIP,'00000'),
    NVL(:P36_PHONE,'555-1212'),
    NVL(:P36_TITLE,'No Data'));
    My Questions:
    1. How do I reference the Facility PK that was already created?
    2. If I have several child tables where I want to insert a row, is the sql the same as above?
    I did run the separate Insert sql for Contact table, but all it did was create a new row, but no link to the facility record.
    Thanks for looking at this. I am new to sql and want to use the PL/SQL to process the inserts into the tables.

    Hello
    You can get user id using select v('APP_USER') FROM DUAL or simply :APP_USER.

    How to set cookie value in one page and retrieve in another page using setActionListener?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    "cookie" is a reserved name. If you want to write to a session scope attribute called "cookie" then you have to call #{sessionScope.cookie}. If you want to use EL to set and read from cookies then you will have to use
    #{cookie.cookieName}
    Note that #{cookie} writes to and returns a map

  • How can I call a Page Process from the Select statement for Report Page

    I'm able to call a javascript using the below:
    img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#add2.gif" border="0" alt="Icon 4" onClick="javascript:add_connect1('||CPORT.ID||')"
    But Now,
    I'd like to accomplish (2) New things:
    1. instead of using,....... onClick="javascript:add_connect1,
    I'd like to call a Page Process, onClick=
    2. I'd like to be able to call two different processes onClick.
    a. onClick="javascript:passBack('||ID||')"
    b. onClick= <Please see my question #1 above>
    Can someone please help me with the syntax for this,
    If indeed it can even be done?
    Thanks- Gary

    Greg.
    It seems that my situation is the one you describe in you second paragraph, where you mention:
    you could then add the ID column value as a parameter to the javascript functionBut,
    I do not know how to reference the variable in my javascript nor how to use it in my on-demand process.
    If you can hellp me past this last little bump, then I think I will be able to use these skills in Sooo many different areas of my design.
    Here's what I've got so far:
    A. In the select statement I identify the javascript as:
    onClick="javascript:connect_port('<font color=blue>''||ID||''</font>')";
    B. In my javascript I have this:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function connect_port(ID)
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=CONNECT_PORT',0);
    gReturn = get.get();
    get = null;
    </script>
    C. In my on demand function I have this:
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO CCONNECTIONS_B
    BLDG_ID,CLST_ID,PORT_ID,STRAND_ID
    ) VALUES
    :P2004_BLDG_ID,:P2004_CLST_ID,:P2004_PORT_ID,:P2004_STRAND_ID1
    END;
    You can see that I dont know how to use the value for 'ID' in either the javascript or the On-Process function.
    If you can help me out with this one, Then I can imitate it for the rest.
    -Gary
