Retrieving attachments from guided procedure

I have a problem with the GP API in webdynpro to retrieve attachments from a guided procedure.
According to the documentation on help.sap.com this should be easy:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/f7/d3c2fd5081446a844575e5af <http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/f7/d3c2fd5081446a844575e5af484722/frameset.htm> 484722/frameset.htm
But when implementing the code the IGPRuntimeManager class doesn't have a function getAttachmentList()
I checked it in multiple service packs. I tested it on 2004S SP10 and 2004S SP 16 and in both the function isn't there. I also tested it on the Composition Environment and there it does work.
When looking at the SAP Note 924776
it says that there are changes in the public API of SAP Netweaver 7.0 SP10 and SP7.
Does know how this API works after SP10 ?
I can't find any SAP documentation about how it works after the change.

Well, Not sure which you are using. I will talk about 10134. I got the count of attachments using Human Task's global variable. count(bpws:getVariableData('MyHumanTask_1_globalVariable','payload','/task:task/task:attachment')).
I have used hwf:getTaskAttachmentContents() to read the contents of the file and I have assigned that to base64binary type variable.

  • Deleting running processes from Guided Procedure runtime

    Dear all,
    Does anybody know how to delete running process i.e. incomplete process from Guided Procedure runtime dashboards.  The administration workset contains archiving & deleting sections but they can only delete if a process is completed or Erronous or Terminated.
    In need to delete a running process or incomplete process as some process instances are kicked off and left alone.
    Thanks
    -Bharath

    Hi Ramien,
    I suppose you have acces to the executionContext of GP...
    You can use the following method to get the process Id:
    String processId = executionContext.getProcessId();

  • Location of the attachments in Guided Procedures

    Hi,
    does anybody know the location where the attachments from the Guided Procedure Runtime are stored?
    Are they stored somewhere in the KM or in the database/filesystem directly?
    In the Guided Procedure Monitoring i can see the attached documents, but i need an overview over all attached documents in the gp process instances for one Guided procedure.
    Thank you in Advance - Regards

    Hi Martin,
    the standar "Attachment" functionality in GP stores the file in the database, may be you can get the table names asking here in the forums, anyway you can create your own attachments page using UI Patters and integrating it with the KM so the attached files will be stored there.

    Hi everyone, I need your help, I need to recover the processId once time the Procees was started in Guided Procedures

    http://host:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/cafeugpui~rt/Runtime?app.processId=IDnumber
    the parameter I need is IDnumber, I dont know if it is possible with web dynpros or with web services please I need you help
    How Can I do this?
    Thank you very much my friends
    Regards from Mexico
    Atte Israel

    Hi,
    I am not sure about the version. But you can follow the steps below.
    1. Create a Web Dynpro Poroject (Ideally create a DC , but if you don't have NWDI setup a project will do).
    2. Add reference to com.sap.security.api.jar and sap.comcafeugpapi.jar
    3. Under WebDynpro References -> Library References add sap.com/cafeugp~api
    4. Put following code in wdDoInit()
    public void wdDoInit()
        //@@begin wdDoInit()
         IGPRuntimeManager rtm = GPProcessFactory.getRuntimeManager();
         IWDMessageManager msgMgr= wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager();
         try{
         IWDClientUser wdUser = WDClientUser.getCurrentUser();
         IUser user = wdUser.getSAPUser();
         IGPUserContext userContext = GPContextFactory.getContextManager().createUserContext(user);
         Date startDate = new Date(110,1,1); // Start date as 01-Jan-2010
         Date endDate= new Date(111,12,31); // End date as 31-Dec-2011
         IGPProcessInstanceInfo[] array = rtm.getRunningInstances(GPSearchRole.SEARCH_ROLE_OWNER, startDate, endDate, userContext);
         for (int i=0; i<array.length; i++){
         String instanceId = array<i>.getProcessInstanceID();
    //        Write logic to pass the instance ID to the RFC
    msgMgr.reportSuccess("Instance id =" + instanceId);
         catch(Exception ex)
         msgMgr.reportException(ex.getLocalizedMessage(),false);
        //@@end
    Let me know if you face any issues.
    Thanks

  • Where are stored attachments in guided procedures process??

    Any one knows?

    Hi Julio,
    The history of the process is not lost after the process is finished. You can see the process instances at NWA->Availability and Performance Management->Process Monitoring->Guided Procedures->Process Instances Tab.
    Here you can Search the Process running/completed/terminated/erroneous/archived Instances based on Initiator/Administrator/Owner/Overrseer userid forlast week/last month/last year/At any Time etc. In the result that you get after search, you can see all the data for each process task. You can see Input Context,Output Context, Processor,Attachment etc.
    Also on the main page for this screen, there are few other tabs which can give you other information about the Process/Process templated and other GP objects.

  • OIM: Retrieve data from stored procedure,  pre populate it in Resource form

    Hi,
    I need to retrieve data form a stored procedure that i have created . This data needs to be per populated in the Iplanet resource from. The stored procedure will have one input string and one output string.
    Thankz,
    Sanjay Rulez

    1. Prepare OIM Admin Console to interact with an Oracle Database, by adding jdbc jar files in the lib Directory of OIM Console.
    2. Restart OIM Console and Create a database Resource
    3. Create an Pre-populate adapter Task with a "Stored Procedure" Type
    4. Invoke you Procedure.
    The main problems can be around datatype conversion between Java and Oracle database.
    For instance, all Oracle NUMBER type are mapped on java LONG type, and you need to deal every time with conevsrion between INTEGER and LONG in the adapter task.

  • Steps to retrieve attachments from a storage system linked via ArchiveLink.

    Dear experts,
    I want to retrieve the documents stored in a storage system linked to SAP via the archivelink and show it in a webdynpro application(Adaptive RFC).I need to know the right approach to do so.I am searching for a funtional module which can fetch me the documents from the data storage.The stored documents are linked to business object type BUS2104.
    I'll appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Karambir Singh

    Tortsen,
    I tried the solution suggested by you.Here's what i did :
    I executed the  ARCHIV_GET_CONNECTIONS with input field  OBJECTTYPE values as BUS2104.It gives me some entries in the output connections table.From the results , i picked up the ARCHIV_ID and ARC_DOC_ID fields as suggested by you.
    I went to execute SCMS_AO_TABLE_GET  with above two values as import parameters and COMP_ID = "data".But it does not give me any output.It says "HTTP error: 404 Not Found". Any idea why is it so?
    Then i went to try SCMS_DOC_URL_READ .I find here that there are two mandatory parameters viz . STOR_CAT , DOC_ID.I tried giving the ARCHIV_ID  value above as value for  STOR_CAT . But it does not recognize it.Then i went to the table SDOKSTCA to look for any valid values for STOR_CAT , but i am not sure which one applies to my scenario.How do i find this?
    i'll appreciate any help.
    Thanks,

  • How to retrieve attachments from a PDF?

    Hi All,
    how do i retrive attachments in a pdf using workbench process?
    I have used a DDX file which is :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <DDX xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/DDX/1.0/">
    <FileAttachments result="attachmentInfo.xml" nameKeys="*" extract="true">
    <PDF source="inDoc"/>
    <FilenameEncoding encoding="ISO-8859-1"/>
    </FileAttachments>
    </DDX>
    Now i got the attachmentInfo.xml with the informartion of all the attachments.
    My problem is how to actually get hold of the attachments inside the PDF.
    Pls help.
    Thanks
    Abhiram

    The trick to this is in the results that the DDX returns.   When using the FileAttachments tag in a DDX the result is not just the attachments, but also an XML that describes the attachments.
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/livecycle/8.2/ddxRef/000663.html
    The description file (identified using the “result” attribute in the DDX) goes into a Map stored in AssemblerResult.object.documents.   The extracted documents are also stored in this map.
    By reading the description XML file you can tell the file name, content type and location (key) of the attachments. A simple loop is used to read the XML file, find the attachments (by the key in the Map) and write them to the file system.

  • Cannot launch SAP Transaction from Guided Procedures

    I created a Callable Object that is linked to a SAP Transaction.
    When I test it by Execute-ing, I got a browser prompt to Save or Cancel the "xxxxxxx.sapssd" file.
    How can I get it to launch the SAP Transaction?
    TIA.

    Hi,
    Kinldy ensure that you used the following process to create the Callable Object
    - Select the Parent Folder to Create Callable Object in GP Design Time
    - Click on 'Create Callable Object' in the Action Items for Gallery
    - In the Create Callable Object Step, choose 'SAP Transaction' option under 'User Interface'
    - Provide the Basic Data in Basic Data Section
    - In 'Define Object' step, provide the SAP System name as created in the SLD. Mostly the Alias name is displayed in the list. Also provide the default Transaction you wanted to execute.
    - In the 'Define Input' Section, you can optionally provide the input parameters. Leave it blank to make it simple.
    - In the 'Set Configuration' section, check the 'Execute Immediately'
    - Finally Finish and Open the Callable Object for testing.
    Following the above process should help you launch the SAP Transaction in a separate browser window.
    After verifying the above steps, should you still have a problem, then it would be helpful if you can provide the steps you followed in order to replicate the problem.
    Thanks
    Siva

    Hi Ryan,
    Yes, it is possible starting from NW2004s.
    When I go to Guided procedures -> Design Time, I see an option for ABAP webdynpro application under th menu Type.
    Another option would be to put the ABAP webdynpro inside an iview and use that iview from guided procedures.
