Retrieving Positions for Specific Org Units

Hi All,
I have a headcount report to develop. It will run for one personnel area at a time. So for the period run, I have to list out all the org units under the personnel area as well as the sub org units. For each of the org units I have to separate positions under them into two group - total of positions with holders and non-holders.
I am using the function RH_STRUC_GET by passing org unit to retrieve positions. May I know which result table to read in order to get positions and how to segregate them into 'With Holders' and 'Non-Holders'?
And also how to get the relation ship between org units because I need to display that in the report also.

Two Chief Position for an org unit

HI,
In PPOM I am unable to view two chief position for an 'X' org unit. I have checked in other 'Y' org. unit ( having similar attributes) and there two chief positions are displayed. The validity period and other relationship in both the org units are same.
Can any suggest on how the two cheif positions are displayed for X org unit. (The client is stating that when Y org unit can display two chief positions then why not X org unit).

What is the error or message that you are getting?
By default SAP allows an Org Unit to have multiple Chiefs assigned to it. Are you able to manually assign the relationship to that position via PO13?

Transfer one position from One Org unit to another -For multiple positions

Hello All,
I want to know is there any easy way to transfer one position form one org unit to diff org units? I <b>dont want to delete the position</b>, infact I want to transfer the same position (the position Id will remain same) to another org unit.
I need to do multiple positions, hence pls suggest an easy way to do so.
I know it can be done thorugh<b> PPOM -by drag & drop option ,</b> but the transfer record does not get stored in IT 0000 (actions) for the respective pers no.
Hence, I want to easy wat, where we can do it for many positions , aslo the record gets stored in IT 0000. I tired with PA40, transfer action....
but still more easiest way?

FM for getting org units

Hi,
Is there a FM by which we can get the list of all the lower level depts assigned to a main dept. I mean all the org unit IDs below a specific org unit ID.
I am searching for something similar to FM: BBP_OM_STRUC_GET_USER_FROM_ORG, which will give the list of users assigned to that dept and also to its lower level depts.

Positions assigned to Org Units

Dear Consultants,
There are some designations / Positions (like Clerk / Assistant etc) common in more than one departments. How can we assign it in System?? When we assign any designation to the second department, the first assignment is delimited automatically.
can we specify that a person is working in a specific org unit? I think it is determined upon the Position.

Hi Bindumadhav,
Expecting that you are still looking out for replies, let me clarify one thing.
The Positions that you have mentioned here (like Clerk / Assistant etc) are not Positions, but Jobs. Jobs generally tell you what kind of activity is involved, whereas positions are specific individual employee assignments. You can create a Job and use that to Describe various positions. But each of these positions can Belong to one Org Unit (Department) only.

Hi,
There is no way you can restrict the users in creating no of positions.
Better to have approval process for the positions to be created.Which might restrict the users.
As the objects have different statuses planned,approved,active..etc..

For an Org Unit, how do we get all Reporting Org units (Also employees reporting to the sub org unit) & Employees ?

I have a very common requirement in SAP HCM ABAP development.
For an Org Unit, how do we get all Reporting Org units(Also employees reporting to the sub org unit) & Employees ?
I have tried using RH_STRUC_GET_MULTIPLE_ROOTS and RHPH_STRUCTURE_READ, but the evaluation path is insufficient to get all objects under it. I tried with both O-S-P and O-O-S-P evaluation paths and as per some constraints, I can’t create a customized evaluation path for a reason.
I am using PNPCE database for user selection screen and user would be advising the Org unit. I even referred the standard transaction ‘S_AHR_61016495’ which is using PCH logical database.
I would really appreciate if anyone could provide a solution for this. (Rewards guranteed )

Although I could not respond in time, thank you so much for your prompt reply.
I had used the same RHPH_STRUCTURE_READ and passed the appropriate values to it, but it did not populate the required results. I cross checked the results manually, may be some relations issue. But later I tried using RH_STRUC_GET_MULTIPLE_ROOTS and it worked fine.
Meanwhile I had done a workaround with PCH and RH_STRUC_GET and it served the purpose of getting all the Org units, it’s reporting sub-org-units, positions and persons (The deepest structure from the root org unit advised on selection screen).
The solution I used is, I captured the org-units advised on selection screen by user using PCH logical database and then by looping on sub-org units reporting to the main org-unit I populated related positions and persons holding them and assigned it to the PNPCE logical database.

Update table HRP1001. Change the Position and the Org Unit.

I am new to SAP HR and have been given a work in this area. The requirement is to update the relationship table HRP1001 replacing the old Manager' Position and the Org Unit with the New Manager's Position and the Org. Unit.
I have some how found out the way to get the Postion and the Org unit of the old manager. Now I am replacing the same with the new details using the Update HRP1001 Command but this is the old and not recommended method acheiving this task.
Can anyone please suggest me any Function Module OR the BAPI to update the HRP 1001 table with the New MAnager;s Position and the Org Unit.

I am using the FM: 'BAPI_HRMASTER_SAVE_REPL_MULT'but still not updating. I am trying to change the Position and the Org unit but not successful yet.
I first used the Operator 'I' withi the table BAPIHROBJ-OPERATOR, it failed then I tried 'U' for update it still failed. Can you please let me know how many such operations possible with their charecter values apart from I & U. the domain value set does not exist as it is char1.
Now I came to know that I have to terminate the old relationship by changing the ENDDA and create a new one with the new BEGDA as tomorrow's date.
Can you please suggest something.

Same position in differenet org unit

HI Folks,
Is it possible that one same position is available in two different org units with 100% occupation. actaully, I have a situation where an EE is moved to diff. org unit but it is not updating org key automatically generated by combining per area and org unit. Though its working fine for the previous record till the time org unit was not changed but not when the org unit was changed.so, the new record is not updating automatically. where cld be the problem.

Hi,
Create new postion in the new org unit to which you want to transfer the employee with 100%.......
then use the transfer personnel action for changing his org unit and the new position....
you can find new records in IT0001 for new org unit and postion and also in OM the old postion would have been vacant and new postion will be occupied

Position Level in Org Unit Structure

The other postion is not a reporting postion of others.
I repeat if I give a postion number which is not a reprting manager position but still I would Like to find the other position in the Org. Unit.

Possibility of Focusing to a Specific Org Unit ?

We are using Nakisa v4.1 and a live build. I wonder whether the below action is possible or not;
When a manager logs into the system, the OrgChart Module will display all the organizational units BUT will focus to the organizational unit that he/she is the manager of ? I mean the screen will zoom to that organizational unit he/she is managing at the moment he/she logs in ? Is there any customization on Nakisa Admin Console or R3 side for this or it is not possible at all ?

I think this is worth a little debugging at this point to confirm the data is mapping as you expect it to. Once you are logged in to OrgChart and getting the infamous error message, open a new tab in your browser and navigate to the debug page.
This is done by substituting "default" with"nak-debug". So for example if your OrgChart URL is http://myorgchart/OrgChart/default.jsp, then your debug page URL is http://myorgchart/OrgChart/nak-debug.jsp.
On the debug page, look in your "User" table at the "User Population" row. The value should be a list of parameters.
e.g.
{null=TESTUSER, Costcenter=0000002110, LANGUAGE=, Nak_ExportStructureTable_Count=1, Position=00130049, Name=Ludik, CPID=, IM_EMPSTAT=3, BUSINESS_AREA=9500, PLVN_VERSION=, Perno=00900349, PERSONNEL_SUBAREA=, EMPLOYEE_GROUP=1, Userid=TESTUSER, Nak_EMPLOYEE_DATA_Count=1, CONTROLLINGAREA_ID=1001, KEY_DATE=, PERSONNEL_AREA=1400, Org_unit=50006110, EMPLOYEE_SUBGROUP=DU, Job=50063947}
The parameters you are interested in are...
Userid - this should be the user ID of the account you are logging in with.
Perno - this should be the employee number for the account to which the login ID is associated.
Position - this should be the position ID for the position the employee is assigned to.
Org_unit - this should be the org unit ID for the org unit the position is assigned to. This is what I would expect to be mapped as the root of your org chart.
Note: All entries must of course be valid for the current date.
See if these parameter values match up to what you expect them to be. Also see if you can find these org unit, position and employee (personnel number) entires via OrgChart's listings.
If something doesn't match up then that's what you need to investigate next.

Text maintained for a Org Unit.

In the transaction PPOMA_CRM which is to maintain Org Unit ,
for a specific Org Unit , in the Basic Data Tab u can find a text editor.
I need to get the text maintained in the text editor provided.
I have already got the text maintained using the func module
RHOM_READ_INFTY_BUFFERED.Now whats happening is
I maintained the text iniitaly in the text editor in the Basic Data tab as "hello".
Now I deleted the text " hello" and added a new Text "Hai".
But the func module is returning Hello and Hai ,infact i need only "Hai" which is the current text.
Kindly please check the same and help me.

Hi Neeraj,
I think you'll have to update the HR buffers after the change. Run report HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE with SAP&EBP variant to achieve this (you can schedule a daily job too).

Generating BP for each org unit

when creating the org.model for each org.unit one BP is generated. wt is the purpose of generating BP for each org.unit.
where we can use this one? pls guide me.

the purpose behind creation of BP for each org unit is to use that for the working inside the org
see the BPs are created inside the system using three:
person
group
org
and then we differentiate them on the basis of the roles
so when BP is generated for particluar org it assumes the specific role and later on the same role will work according to the rules determination inside the org
else if you want to specify the attributes inside the org ,how would you be able to work around in the absence of BP
see the thumb rule of CRM is that each and every iondividual is BP here ,so same goes here that if org has to fucntion then employees and customers should be there inside it so that something goes determined
and if BPs are not there how would u achieve that
