Retrive document path from R/3 system

I'm trying to retrive the document path (FILEP) from DRAW table in r/3 system to be displayed in my report
i'm using remote cube and all other column are displayed perfectlt but when i choose this (FILEP) I'm getting the following error.
<b>Error value "(hex.") of characteristic contain invalid characters</b>
Hope someone give me a hand on this
thank you in advance

many BW systems have 'ALL_CAPITAL' written in the RSKC tcode.I believe it allows capital letters of all languages.
goto tcode RSKC..
u might already see a list of characters there.
Just add '\' at the end of the string.Dont put comma or a blank.
Then click on save.then click on execute.
now try to reload data.I think it will go GREEN.
cheers,
Vishvesh

• How to find in R/3 System, which FI document is from which external system?

Hi Moderator/ FICO Experts,
How to find in R/3 System, which FI document is from which external system?
In case of different Non-SAP external Systems posting the data to one R/3 System.
Thanks
Chandra

Hi,
That really depends on the interfaces that your external systems are using. Check with your ABAP or BASIS team to see what is the method used for posting those documents and with which parameters is passed. Look at BKPF table (FI header) to see the attributes such as user, document type, reference, etc.

• How to get folder(directory path only not file path) from local file system

Hi Firends,
How to get folder(directory path only not file path) from local file system , whenevr i will click on browse button.
Please give reply for this one , if anybody knows.
Thanks,
Anderson.

Hi Anderson,
if you're using flash.filesystem.FileReference - then it is run in black box - except of filename, size and creation data (and few other properties available after some operation succeeded). This is part of security features in Flash runtime (described in header section):
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/FileReference .html
This for example implies that user can download a content to local machine - but that content cannot be loaded back into Flash runtime. For this you would need either Air runtime flash.filesystem.File:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/filesystem/File.h tml
(so you would created Air runtime based application: desktop or mobile but not web, even as standalone project) or you would need one of 3rd party tools that add file access/file information features to standard Flash runtime applications converted to standalone native applications.
hth,
kind regards,

• Retrive document types from BKPF / BSEG

Hi guys,
I need to extract records with the following document types from BKPF
- RE (Invoice Gross with PO)
- RA (Sub.cred.memo stlmt with PO)
- KR (Vendor Invoice without PO)
- KG (Vendor credit memo without PO)
- ER (E-Payment)
- TE (Travel & expense)
- KD (Down payment)
and then for these records the BSEG entries with these posting keys
- 31 (link to Payment via clearing document)
- 40 (debit entry, for non-PO voucher)
- 50 (credit entry, for non-PO voucher)
- 86 (GR/IR Debit, link to PO Line, positive)
- 96 (GR/IR Credit, link to PO Line, negative)
Extractor 0fi_gl_4 does not provide me wtih all these doc types, only a subset.
0fi_ap_4 is not an option for me, because in the data warehouse I need to link the bkpf/bseg records to the PO (ekko/ekpo), while we have no po reference in bsik/bsik that are read by 0fi_ap_4.
Is there a way to extend the fi_gl_4 so it contains the doc types I need?
Or do you know another way of retrieving bseg records of specific types?
Regards,
Arjen

ok,
I have checked again and if you didn't change the business content, both fields BLART (doctype) and BSCHL (key) are extracted; how was your delta init done? with selections? Did you apply some specific TRules or URules? Check you PSA for a record you are missing and simulate the update in order to see what's going on.
As I said, I got everything in my ODS.
you can also check this in R/3; Tx RSA3 with a comp_code and a fiscal period selection...
hope this helps
Olivier.

3) CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEW2' - This F/M does not save the file into given path. It always stores at "C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP\SapWorkDir". Also Name of the file is determined by the system. The file name which i pass, is not taken into account.
Kindly help me out to download the document from SAP to my local system.
Early response will be highly appreciated.

Hi,
Try this...use the FM BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEW2 to download the files to the directory that sap is saving..Then use the class method CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>FILE_COPY to move the files to the directory you want..

• What documents are posted in FI systems from MM/EBP

hi friends
If we are using Taxware for tax calculation then do we need to use FI also as backend. What is the use of FI in backend and what documents are posted in FI system
Regards
vinny

Hi
Irrespective of the technical scenario you are using, you should have a back end to handle your accounting documents. As SRM system does not support  accounting, all the accounting documents will be posted to the back end. It need not be SAP R/3, you can have any other accounting package for this.
Thanks
Sri.

• Issue with Getting the file path from InputFile component

Hi,
One of our requirement is like below:
I am working on ADF 11g (latest release R1) page. User will select the file and when he/she clicks on the Save button we need to store the file path in the database.
In the database file_path is varchar2(300). We need to store just the file path. I am using InputFile component but filepath is not getting inserted.
This is really urgent. It would be really appreciate if anyone can guide me on this.
Thanks
MC

Hi Mahesh,
I have manage to store the file path from the InputFile component in Jdev 11g. I found the file upload script from this forum and manage to alter it so that i could save the file path to the database. But my problem is to retrieve it back to view as a document. Hope this will help you :)
This is an example of what I have manage to save to my DB :
(CLOB) //192.168.238.53/c$/Research/Docs/0906160744/EyeCandyLog.txt
In my form, I save the file path first before I update the other fields. My code is something like this :

// Add event code here...
InputStream in;
FileOutputStream out;
if(tanda == 0){

• How to Retrive the content from Archive folder ???

Hi,
1. I was working on the archiving of the documents and was able to archive the docs into a local archive folder.
Then I had to test a scenario where when the user wants to search for a document with a specific ContentId, if the ContentId was not present in the content repository, then the content manager has to search for the same in the archived documents. Is this achievable?
While testing the above, the UCM server had stopped indexing and started giving a Interrupted exception for indexing. While we do a normal checkin also the documents are in DONE status and are not getting published. Tried restarting the indexer also but in vain. How can we restart the indexing so as to publish the docs?
2. indexing not working even for normal checkin the content.its showing error "indexing aborted" ? content never gets released after checkedin the content ? its struch in done status ?
while importing the content to ucm serverl, i have deleted "testarchive " (which was exported from contentserver) from Archive folder in UCM install directory.. then many contents were in done status at contentmanagement-> workin progress. Errors showing in content server ...

hi,
We wanted to achieve the following.
1) Data which is older more than 2 months should be sent and stored in a different storage device[ example: SAN storage / oracle storage etc ].
2) When user requests for the contentId and if its older more than 2 months, the request has to search / retrieve the secondary storage system and get the documents.
As of now, we need not required archival things, we just need retrive documents from out side devices. it can be SAS or any other storage device/unit.
i just need to retrive the content based on metadata from other storage device.
lets say one example , we have large amount data which is stored in one device or hard disc
it can be SAS or any storge unit, using UCM, i need to retrive to the content from storage device/unit.
how to retrive document from out side device ? how i need to configure for other storge unit ? is it possible through provider for providing other system information in UCM server ? is there any other alternate way ???
how it be achived ? how to config to other storage device using ucm ?
this requirement is very very urgent and we need proper soluation, so could please let me know soluation with a in detail description.
thanks in advance

• Migration from Sun Java System Portal Server to the Oracle Portal

Hi, I'm in charge of evaluate the viability of a project that comprises the migration from Sun Java System Portal Server to the Oracle Portal. so I'm wondering if there is a kind of out of box migration tool in Oracle Portal or exists some guidelines to do the migration. In the other hand there is the option of migrate from Sun Java System Portal Server to Oracle WebCenter?
Thanks in advance!

The migration path for Sun Portal Server is Oracle WebCenter Suite. WebCenter is a significantly different architecture so there are no tools planned for the migration. However, we do plan to document and publish a whitepaper once we've assisted a few of the initial customer migrations.

• How do I install all my old programs and data from an old system folder after I have reinstalled the same OSX system after a crash?

The system is OSX10.5.8 Leopard on a 2009 imac. A new system was installed from the installation disks and the original system saved to a folder.
I need to use my Adobe programs, rescue my email, i-tunes and iphoto data.  The disk utility indicates that my Time Machine back-up disk is damaged and I don't want to take a risk of having Time Machine erase my hard drive and try to reinstall the exact system existing at the time of the crash.  There was over 650 gb of stored files that I was copying and removing from the drive at the time it crashed. The total size of the original system file is still about 650 Gb.
I would prefer to go back in Time Machine and only rescue the programs as most of the files have been copied to external hard drives, but I can't access the back-up hard drive from the new version of the Time Machine.  Or by I don't want the Time Mchine to start copying the new operating system which would include all the data in the old system file. Time Machine was working fine at the time of the crash.

No, the disk was backed up with time machine a few hours prior to the crash.  I was unable to open the computer when I tried to restart it- got a grey screen with the spinning disk- after a few minutes the screen would go black and would reboot continuously, but not load any images or programs. I started the computer from the 10.5.4 installation disks and checked both the time machine external hard drive and the Imac internal drive with the disk utilities. Both showed as damaged --the internal drive and permissions were repaired, but the external drive (time machine back-up)  was damaged and not repairable by disk utilities. I don't believe that the external drive for Time Machine was connected to the computer at the time of the crash as I was copying files to a different hard drive drive. And I was not having any problems with the TM back-up drive prior to the crash.
I accessed the Imac internal disk by firewire (as a target disk) and copied as many data files as I had room for on my external hard drives available.  And I deleted quite a few files from the imac internal drive (mostly just jpegs, duplicate tifs, etc--nothing that was used by i-photos, i-tunes or the Mail program).
Then I installed a new OSX10.5.4 system from the installation disk and the old system was moved to a folder on the hard drive.  I previousy had had the option to reinstall the complete system from Time Machine when I connected that drive and booted with the installation disks with the C key depressed.  But it didn't seem like a good option because I was unsure of the condition of that external disk and whether it would be able to reinstall my data correctly, once it had erased my internal hard drive.
I'm considering buying some new external hard drives and backing up the present system to time Machine (so I'll still have my old data in the old system folder).  And then I would try using the old Time Machine back-up to try to reinstall the sytem previous to the crash.  That back-up would reinstall about 700gb of data and operating software and programs which sounds like a lengthy back-up.  Since I have never used Time Machine to do a full reinstallation (I've only used it for individual files), I'm reluctant to do anything rash.
I'm a professional designer (with a deadline) but I can still use my Illustrator and Photoshop by opening them from the old system folder and saving the files to an external drive.  So it's not neccessary to do anything hasty except to delete some of the excess art and document files that were causing the computer to run slowly and the  Adobe programs to crash when I tried to save my work. I have quite a few books on tape in the i-tumes folder which is probably talking up tons of space but I don't where the i-tunes files live.
Thanks for any help. Peggy

• HOW TO:  Copy and Paste THE Filename AND its PATH from Finder

HOW TO DO THIS: Copy and Paste THE selected Filename AND its entire PATH from Finder to another application as in document footer reference, or document database which has a path field to aid in locating the file later.
Finder, Spotlight and File Info (can be used to display Path) or using Command F, command I, etc. but user is not allowed to copy the path to clipboard.
This is rudimentary, yet the word Path, is unknown to Mac Help.

AJ,
Isn't it amazing....There is no Command Key for this action? Apple Care was confounded too. And thanx, it'll be a help....
Jim
its tedious, but this should work:
open a terminal window.
Drag and drop the icon for the file in the terminal
window.
This will put the full path including the filename on
the command line.
Copy the path from the command line, and paste
(wherever).
Close the terminal window.
