  • How to change user password from default realm programaticaly

    Hello,
I would like to know if there are any ways to change a users password from a file
realm through java classes ie . programaticaly.

    Thank you for the support.
After looking at the code, I noticed RealmManager is not documented in the BEA

also not documented. Do you have the latest Javadocs?

    Hi maruti Rao ,
All Gives U gud Idea..here i give u some brief procedure.First of all u need to add 2 jar file in ur project structure for proper working of "com.sap.security.api.IUser" Interface. After that for retriving Users data Stored on LDAP Server.
If you are using an LDAP directory as a data source for your user-related data, the ‘logical’ attribute names used by the Java application programming interface (API) of SAP User Management Engine (UME) must be mapped to the ‘physical’ attribute names used in the schema of your corporate LDAP directory.
Example Data-Source File is as Below From Where U can Get All The Information of Logged user...

  • Sychronisation AD - OID: Is it possible to read the user password from AD?

    Hi.
We are using the Oracle Internet Directory shipped with the Oracle 9i Database Rel. 2 (9.2.0.1).
I try to synchronise the user accounts from AD to OID using JAVA JNDI. I'm able to read all necessary user information except the user password (MD5 value). Even if I connect to the AD using SSL, it's not possible to read the attribute userPassword.
Is anybody out there who got this work or knows a way (may also be by the use of another programming language or tool) to get the user password out of AD? Is this possible? How does the Oracle Integration Agents accomplish this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Hermann S.

    Hermann,
I am working with this as well, though from AS10g, not RDBMS. According to the OID Administrator Guide chapter 43, page 43-52:
    <snip>
Synchronizing passwords from Microsoft Active Directory to Oracle Internet Directory is not possible in the Oracle Application Server 10g release because passwords in Microsoft Active Directory are not accessible by LDAP clients. However, if a deployment requires passwords to be available in Oracle Internet Directory, then the following two methods are recommended:
Build a custom plug-in for Microsoft Active Directory that captures a password change and synchronizes it with Oracle Internet Directory
Manage Active Directory passwords from the Oracle environment. This enables passwords to be available in both Oracle Internet Directory and Microsoft Active Directory because the Active Directory connector can synchronize passwords from Oracle Internet Directory to Microsoft Active Directory.
    </snip>
As10g can however look up the password in AD using the "Active Directory External Authentication Plug-In". This is documented in the same chapter.
    Hope this helps,
    Jens

  • Mac os x wiki server can't authenticate user password from active directory recently after we upgraded to windows 2008 server.

after upgraded to windows 2008 server, our  mac os x wiki server can't authenticate user password anymore. How can I re-bind the wiki server to the AD again? thanks in advance.

Solved it by deleting the user and creating a new one with the same userID.
Maybe it occured because I marked the "user has to change password after first login" box when resetting the password but didn't yet allow him to do so in the webpages menu?!?

  • Can you authenticate user/password from SAP to Active Directory

I don't want to implement SSO for ABAP because my company doesn't have the license for  "SAP NW Single Sign-On"; but we would like to authenticate our users and their passwords to active directory.  Our goal is to make sure the user/password in SAP is the same as their Active Directory user/password.  Is this possible?
    Thanks!

This has been discussed many times, for example see SSO with LAN UserID/Password. The short answer is no, you can't synchronize passwords. You can however achieve the requirement assuming you are using Identity Management to provision users and passwords to all systems (AD, SAP, etc). In that case you will have to deal with users changing their password. Recommendation is to enable SSO. If you don't want to get licenses for NWSSO, try to look at other options (X.509 certificates, SPNEGO in AS JAVA and then issue a Logon Ticket, 3rd party solution, etc).

  • How Can I change all User Passwords Within a Directory Instance

    Hi Experts,
I've been asked to refresh an old directory instance with some production data.  Easy enough I thought, however, the user has requested that all user passwords within the old directory instance are preserved.  Is that at all possible?  My chain of thought was that I can extract user passwords from the old instance into a file: -
    # ldapsearch -D cn="Directory Manager" -w xxxxxxxx -b o=xxxxxxx objectclass=* userpassword > <name of file>
And then then use ldapmodify (or alike) to re-import the user passwords once I've refresh the old instance with the production data.  However, to my knowledge, in order to modify a particular entry via a file, i'd need the following format: -
    dn: gci=-1,ou=people,o=xxxxxxxx
    changetype: modify
    replace: userpassword
    userpassword: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The only information I have in the file I created using the ldapsearch command above is as follows: -
    dn: gci=-1,ou=people,o=xxxxxxxx
    userpassword: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I don't want to have to edit the file and add the relevant missing entries accordingly as the generated file has somewhere in the region of 150 thousand entries.
Am I approaching this the correct way?  Is there any other mean of achieving my requirement.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
It does not seem a big deal to add the missing lines to your output file.
For instance, the following awk command should do the trick
    cat search.out
    dn: gci=-1,ou=people,o=xxxxxxxx
    userpassword: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    cat search.out | awk '/userpassword/ {print "changetype: modify} ; print "replace: userpassword"; }  {print $0}
    dn: gci=-1,ou=people,o=xxxxxxxx
    changetype: modify
    replace: userpassword
    userpassword: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Then you can use ldapmodify to apply your changes

  • How to recover password from Database link in Oracle 10G

    Hi guys,
How can I get a user password from DBLink in Oracle 10G?
From sys.link$ the column "PASSWORD" is empty and the crypted data comming from the new column "PASSWORDX" does not work by using "... identified by values..."
    Any idea?
    Thanks...

Why do you need to know the password? If you need to re-create the link in another database you can use dbms_metadata to generate the DDL for the database link and for a fixed database link the DDL will include an encrypted password that will match the remote database password.
    select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('DB_LINK','Link_name','Owner') from sys.dual
On version 9.2 it extracts the actual visible plan text password. On 10g+ encrypted representation in values clause

I am new to the api for adobe. I am wondering if anyone has a sample of using an API program that would remove the User Password from a set of pdf files? (FYI - They all have the same password. )

The Acrobat SDK is a tool for automating Acrobat, nothing else, so it
can't be used to make completely standalone tools.
Next question: what is the user environment?

    * A user will run it automatically on their own files as they need it

    Hello,
We want to call a webdynpro iView directly from URL without user/password previous step.
Is it possible to add user-password to the URL directly as a parameter? How?
Is it possible that iView obtains user/password from another system?
    Thanks in advance,

I have decided to define an individual iView as anonymous content:
    1. I have set the value of the iView parameter Authentication Scheme to anonymous
    2.  I have ensure that anonymous users have end user permissions for the iView (Display Permissions in the iview).
After that, I call the iView using  changing URL escape codes for special characters such as colon ( or slash (/).
    BUT the logon screen appears...
Did I skip any configuration step?

You found them ... where?  Are they in Safari somewhere?
If so, do Settings > Safari > Clear History and Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies and Data
If that doesn't clear them (and they are from Safari), try Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data and clear that area.
