Retriving the Hardware key in SAP EP 7.0

Hi Experts,
I have installed EP 7.0 in Dev server. I need to retrive the hardware key from Portal so that I can publish
the same to SAP and get the license key.
Please let me know the path in portal where I can find the hardware key.

Since you are on NW 7.0 you will have to visual administrator to retrieve the h/w key. On how to do it, use this sap help link:

If you just wanna get your h/w key, you can also log-in to the o/s level using <sid>adm & use the command:
"saplicense - get"

I'm trying to run SAP NetWeaver 7.0 - Java and ABAP Trial Version on Linux - VMware Edition
but I still have a issue to log on, message : "error in license check"
I try everything I found in forums, I have tested the license, see the trace below.
I checked too files dev_w*
It seems there is a problem with server message
I checked in "dev_ms" file, but nothing has been wrote inside.
Please could you help ? maybe someone met the same issue and solved it.

As you are running a Trial version, I do not think HA/ASCS would be relevant for you.
As you found in the dev_ms trace, the port 3601 for message server is not accessible:

Check via command netstat if the port 3601 is free for use. The hardware key is obtained from message server and since this port is not available, neither is the message server/the hardware key. Perhaps a VM restart could also help.

In a Server SBO 2005 B is installed. Now if I uninstall it and freshly install SBO 2007 B will the hardware key be changed?

I always go for complete 2005 uninstall and a brand new 2007 installation.
I never had a change in the hardware key, but hey, you never know with computers, and you don't want to be stuck just because you can't request a new key, correct?

License Installation for Multiple Hardware Keys in SAP J2EE Engine

Hi Everyone,
I have a question to ask that we have a Failover setup in our Client Enviornment.
But for SAP JAVA System I am seeing a Problem :
Whenever Failover will happen SAP System will be moved to different Hardware box
which has different Hardware Key.
1) In SAP ABAP Systems we can install Multiple Licenses for Multiple HArdware Keys
so that whenever Failover happens , no need to apply license for that Hardware key
2) But in J2ee System under License Adapter , I am not able to see any option under the same
to install another License
Under Licnese Adpater Service , I am able to see license of J2ee-engine_ora , maintanance_ora & Netweaver_ora licneses

Try to paste the two licenses in the same file and then import the license file.

ERROR While Configuring the SSL Key Pair SAP NW 7.3

I am trying to create new key pair entry to use for SSL. I am getting weird error, after importing certificate response ssl-credential entry goes invalid.
Below are list of step I carried prior getting error.
1) Deleted existing Java key pair from existing view ICM_SSL_<Instance_ID>
2) Generated new pair entry
3) Generated certificate sign request.
4) Sent to SAP CA at SAP Trust Center Service at service.sap.com/tcs.
5) Import certificate request.
And ssl-credential entry turns red , with error"This entry expired"

I was able to sync my adroid device prior to upgrading my pc.. currently it is saying that my email is in use but unable to retrive the sync key . plus my FF4 does not give the option to add device

both pc ff4 and android giving a sets of different sync keys and unable to use either of them

You need to get the owner's manual for your Ford's bluetooth system to see how to put your system into discovery mode for the iPhone as well as the appropriate steps to take.
In addition, you should see if the iPhone is supported.

SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial / field 'Active Hardware Key' is empty

Hello,
I just installed SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version and I am trying to obtain a licence
I log into the system with SAP* user and click on Administer SAP Licenses
I used the transaction code SLICENSE....but then the field 'Active Hardware Key' is empty (so I am not able to request a licence as I have to provide this Hardware key...)
Does anywone have an idea ?

Hardware key should be there in SLICENSE, but anyway you can get that.
Login with <SIDADM> user and execute saplicense -get, it will give you the hardware key. when you receive the License file then you have to install the license from SLICENSE only.

does anybody know the logic of how sap-ag identifies the hardware key?
is that from motherboard? or harddisk? or OS?
If we later change something on hardware like memory, harrdisk , will the key then change?

Retrival of Control Key of Operation & Table underneeth the structure

Hi Experts,
Right now i'm working on PP and PM related stuff, I'm in the middle of the project and stucked down at a point in how to retrive the control key of operation that triggered the update in production order: opoerational view. (CO03).
Also i have a small question on how to findout the underlying table for a particular field(any field in a screen), when done F1 on that particular field the technical details says as table name but it is actuallya structure. So how should i find the table underneeth the structure where the particular data is being stored.
Or how should i retrieve the data if i couldn't figure out the table, is there some way that i can retrie the data using the structure.

Hi Rich,
This is a common problem.One of the best and easy way is use the transaction ST05 for trace.lemme explain in detail.
1.go to ST05 transaction
2.switch trace on
3.take your screen where the field resides
4.enter value in this field and other required field
5.then save the screen
6.go to ST05.
7.stop the trace
8.click on display trace
9.you will get a detailed log what all happend
10.search the log with 'update' or 'insert' word or search with the field.
11.you can find some table name.
12.check that table contains the record which you saved.

1.go to transaction se84.
2.take ABAP dictionary
3.go to Fields
4.Give the field name in table field /structure field
if you are lucky you will get in this

USMM Hardware key issue

Hi,
Environment: OS:HP-UNIX , ECC6., Oracle DB
i have applied sap license in 000 with sap* user id successfully. And everything is working fine except one thing.
That is when i go to transaction USMM the hardware key is wrong it shows A0000000. And hardware key is correct in slicense and at service market place.
Please let me know what i can do.
I have also applied license from OS level and still issue is persisting. SAP restart is also not resolving the issue.

Dear Manuel Sandoval,
Try loading the license from the operation system level using SAPLICENSE command also as said above delete the existing old license and install the new license.

Change in hardware key on new installation with same SID

Dear Experts,
Background:
We installed SAP Netweaver 7.3 EHP1 on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and applied SAP License on it.
So there was a specific SID, Hardware key and Installation No to our installation.
After few months our Server machine got crashed and we formatted it.
Problem:
Now we want to install SAP Netweaver 7.3 EHP1 again on same Server machine.
Here question is:
1. Will the Hardware Key be same if I install SAP Netweaver 7.3 EHP1 with the same SID as it was before ?
Note: We want to apply the same license that was there before the crash. But we can apply same license if and only if after installing with same SID as before, system generates the same Hardware Key as before Crash !!
Other Information:
Information that we got from SAP Note (94998 - Requesting license keys and deleting systems ) that :
" For the following data changes, you require a new license key:
Customer hardware key - database - installation number - system ID.

With OS reinstallation , the HW Key will change.
I suggest you apply for a new License with the new Hardware Key.
Was this a Test System??
You said after few Months , the system Crashed.
Have you taken a Backup (Windows System State) ??

       2. i dont find irj folder under C:\usr\sap\CE1\J00\j2ee\cluster\apps\sap.com now how can i launch the portal ???

The first step is to obtain the Hardware Key. Log into the system with SAP* user and click on Administer SAP Licenses or use the transaction code SLICENSE. The picture below shows where to find the Active Hardware Key.

Error installing license - Hardware Key Empty

Hello gurus,
We have our SAP ECC 6 installed in one Server running AIX. It´s working good.
Now, we have installed a cluster service. If the First Server stops, the cluster service (IBM HACMP) move all filesystems to Second server. The cluster moves also users, IP address and hostname. After move all resources, then the service starts ECC in another physical server.
This process is working fine. But when the SAP ECC starts on the second server, I cannot logon in system because the license key is not valid. I can logon only with SAP*.
So, when I call SLICENSE to get all information needed to get another license, the field Hardware Key is empty.
I´ve tried too by operating system (saplicense -get). I have now the hardware key and the new license file. This file was installed, but SAP system is not working yet. For information, the license appears as valid, but the field is empty yet and the system doesn´t work.
Anybody have an idea to solve this problem?
