Return to store or by mail

If I buy an item that is online order only, can I return it in a store or do I have to return it by mail?

Great question about the Return and Exchange Promise!  That's a pretty spot on response from hockeycanuckjc.  
Most products you buy on BestBuy.com can be returned at our stores.  Some of the things that can't be returned are All Final Sale items, digital content, prepaid cards, gift packaging, memberships, completed services, consumable items including batteries, ink and 3D printer filament, and items returned that are damaged, unsanitary or missing major contents.  If it's a Marketplace item, then you'd have to contact the seller directly.

    We live far away from the nearest Best Buy, looking to return an item. I don't see any instructions on how to do this, since we didn't buy it online we lack an Order Number and the like. 
    Is this possible? What are the steps involved?

    Best Buy's Return & Exchange Promise allows for returns or exchanges within 15 days of the date of purchase (30 days for My Best Buy Elite members and 45 days for Elite Plus members). While products purchased through BestBuy.com can be returned via shipment in most cases, purchases made in our stores must be returned to a Best Buy store within the allowed time. I regret that I do not have better news and apologize for any inconvenience.

  • Paypal horror story: $7,500 return to scammer lost in mail. What to do next?

    It's absolutely a horror story. About three months ago already, I purchased a collectible from a man in the UK for $7,450. When it arrived, I was pretty excited, but then immediately horrified when I saw that he had sent me an absolutely useless item in its place. So, obviously, I immediately took the steps to file a case. I also sent the seller an email. Surprise! No response. [A little later, I also contacted the Northamptonshire police department, who filed a fraud report with Action Fraud on my behalf. Apparently, this same guy had sold this same item 3 other times. A scam running approximately $30,000.] After I escalated the case, PayPal requested that I provide documentation that the item was not as described. I sent in photographs of how the items obviously differed. "Not acceptable evidence." So I had to drive all over the place to find a dealer (there wasn't a local one due to the uncommon nature of the collectible), and then wait for them to draft up a letter--a $30 valuation service. I sent the letter in and finally PayPal allowed me to return the item. Imagine that. I provided documentation that the item I received was worthless, and was required to send it back to the UK for my $7,450 refund. I called PayPal and talked to a representative asking about the best way to ensure I would get my money back and whether or not I would have to insure the item. She assured me that because I provided documentation that the item was valueless, I would not have to insure the item. I went to the post office and sent the package back via registered mail, paying around $30. I updated the case with the proper information on the 9th, and have been checking every single day, awaiting its return. As I was checking, I saw a little note on the claim that said "PayPal will contact you if further information is required by June 17th." I thought this was odd, since that date had already passed (it was around the 20th by then). So I called and was assured that everything would by fine, and that the date would automatically update to around July 7th to be checked for delivery. Today, at 9:37PM, I received an email from PayPal saying that they CLOSED my claim. To me, this seems completely boundless and unreasonable. I called PayPal, unbelievably frustrated and horrified, and was informed that NO MATTER WHAT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING IF THE MAIL COURIER TRUCK WERE TO EXPLODE WITH THE RETURN INSIDE, PayPal could not return my payment unless delivery receipt was confirmed. I have filed an inquiry with USPS to track my registered mail. And now I am writing this, because I am at my wit's end. Please, for the love of God, tell me what I did wrong and what I can fix.

    Well, I was advised to not get it insured. I thought at the time maybe I should get a name, but I didn't and it's eating me. It was sent with tracking and via registered mail, though, sorry to confuse you about that. PayPal's terms say a signature is required, but my point is what on earth can I do if I did everything correctly on my end and USPS or Royal Mail just **bleep** up. Am I supposed to fly to the UK and hunt down the package myself if the inquiry doesn't find it? That's basically what I was told in short on the phone the other day. The thing is, I could've insured the package for $7,500, but it wasn't intrinsically valuable. That's why they told me not to insure it. USPS requires proof of value anyway, so it wouldn't make sense. But it would've solved an issue if that happened--of course that jerk in the UK would get a free $7,500. It doesn't seem like 'buyer protection' but some ridiculous technicality from PayPal. Like I said, it's so clear that I was scammed, and I proved that with official documentation from a record store. I had family members around when I opened the package even. The representative told me that this only allowed me the right to send it back. Which is just absurd, because it's no different from a return. I called Royal Mail today and spoke to a guy who said he would direct me to the international department, but it turns out they're closed until Monday. He told me it's likely just stuck somewhere. Best case scenario, it's just delayed and will be delivered soon enough to not worry about the chargeback deadline. I guess I should call PayPal and verify that it's alright to do that. And of course, get a name this time. It just got me thinking, what the **bleep** happens if he signs a fake signature or declines to accept the package. Technically then, PayPal wouldn't receive proper delivery confirmation, even though it's so logical. It just seems like PayPal is sticking to its technicalities instead of helping me. Is there any chance there's a way to talk to someone higher up in the chain of command?

    Try downloading another app - any free app - that seems to reset something and the apps may start working again. Try that first. If that doesnt work, try these steps
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Close all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

    So is this the way Apple works now? Not solving customers problems? I'm sure so many users have had this problem. I've had, and I reinstalled Mavericks 3 times. Works fine for some days and then several Apple Apps stop working. Is that a way to force us ti update to Yosemite? (I don't want to) and then pay to update some third party programs (i.e. Pro Tools). Also, there are so many 15" MacBooks Pro with graphic problems and of course the guys at the Apple Service Centers always say: "It's the logic board, you can have it replaced, but it's so expensive I would recommend a new Mac".  I really, really miss Steve Jobs!

    Tell me how to do Goods Return to Store against Process Order
    For E.g.
    Process Order X having Material M1 with Requirement Qty 100 Kg as per BOM specification and Issue Qty using COR6 is also 100 Kg but due to less Consumption 20 Kg is required to be returned to store
    So how to have effect of returned 20 KG against Process Order
    Note : I have used MB1C option for Goods Receipt but it won't make any effect in Process Order
    i.e. Requirement Qty  -   100 KG
         Withdrawn Qty     -    100 KG
    But in MMBE it shows 20 KG after receipt from MB1C

    I tried as per your given direction but it won't worked
    What I required is for E.g.
    Process Order No 11111
    Material No           Mat-A   
    Batch No              Bat-A
    Storage Loc          PM01
    Requirement Qty which is coming from BOM                        120 KG
    Withdrawl Qty either using COR6 or MB1A (261 mov type)     120 KG
    Consider that Process Order is already confirmed and due to some reason All the materials issued against Process Order has to be returned to Store for another Process Order
    When I used MB1A and entered movement type 262 with storage location PM01 then click on To Order Button to enter Reference : Order and click on Tick Button
    It then displayed only those materials which is not yet issued and required to be issued and automatically Movement Type changed to 261
    Please guide

    Does Thunderbird store my e mails? I have 'archived' e mails and also put old e mails into folders. I can access them when I am in Thunderbird but cannot find them on my hard drive. I was told by a friend to search C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\38wjazhk.default\ImapMail\imap.telus.net.
    Didn't help.
    Can anyone advise me?

    Documents and Settings is a path for Windows XP.
    On Windows 7 this would be in %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles

    The "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and later Window 7+ versions and the "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K are hidden folders.

    There is a problem , i have a senario suppose some raw material is left in production then we have to return to store , so the stores people check that material
    Inspection plan is already maintained with usages 5 and status 4 (inspection lot is generated when we procure a material from vendor)
    i activate the inspection type  01, 0101, 04,05 and 08, for material ROH1 but when i do the migo with movement type 262, i did not get the inspection lot , please suggest.

    Hi Maashish,
    This is stock transfer inspection (~Type 08).
    1. Check the "Task List Usage" in customisation of Inspection type 08. (Standard SAP has set it as 9)
    Quality Inspection>Inspection Lot Creation> Maintain inspection type
    2. Check your customisation for movement type 262. Is QM activated?
    Quality Inspection>Inspection Lot Creation> Inspection for Goods Movement-->Deactivate Q Insp. for a movement type.
    Hope it works after these corrections/checks.

    I need to recall a product from all stores.
    Store will create the STO by a certain deadline.
    How can I gather all this return STO (Store >> DC) and assign with a collective PO.
    Ultimately, how many I collected will be returned to my Vendor.
    Can this be done?

    Looks like your requirement will be satisfied using Allocation Returns Process.
    This in effect creates the returns STOs from the stores with the quantities and the corresponding PO to the Vendor from the DC.

  • Can't open Preview/Calendar/App store/iBooks/Terminal/Mail after updated to Mavericks

    After I updated to Mavericks, I can not open Preview, Dictionary, App Store, iBooks, Keynotes, Photobooth, Quicktime, Contact, Calender, etc...
    Mail keeps crashing everything I opened it.
    iTunes and Safari is still working. Can someone tell me what's happening and how to solve my problem? Thanks a lot!

    Evi, I have the same problem. When I first updated to Mavericks, everything is OK, but I use Cleanmymac too, It is may be because of Cleanmymac, it cleaned about 1G files.
    Now I can not open App Store, how can I download and reinstall Mavericks?

  • Mail Account NO LONGER stores Passwords for Mail Accounts

    Since my last restart my mac mail accounts (.mac, company, etc) no longer STORE passwords for either the send or smtp receive... Anyone experience this before? I'm going to try and toss the mail pref files and even delete my accounts, but since it's happening to ALL of my accounts (5) at the same time I'm concerned that I'll be wasting my time until I fix what's gotten broken...

    Since these password are stored in your Keychain, try running Keychain First Aid on your Keychain via Keychain Access.

    Sounds like you're seeing the full e-mail headers in Mail, rather than just the From, Subject, Date and To lines like normal. Is this in every message or just one? If it's just one, select it and press command-shift-H, or choose View -> Message -> Default Headers.
    Alternately, if you're seeing it in every message, go to Mail -> Preferences, click the Viewing icon and set the "Show header detail" pop-up to Default.
