Returning no output (intentionally)

Hi,
I have a bi publisher report that generates pdf and is printed out automatically. The problem is that I want to be able to stop this from happening for some data. If I return empty xml a blank pdf file is generated which is no good so the only method I have found is to return false in a datatrigger (which means that the concurrent request gets an "error" status).
My question is this; can I somehow make the concurrent request finish normally but return no output file?

Try a differnt user account and see if the same thing applies.

  • Xbacklight returns 'No outputs have backlight property' on Sony laptop

    Laptop: Sony VAIO VGN-NW130D
Graphics: Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series
    WM: xmonad
I am trying to get the two brightness adjustment keys on my laptop to work, which they currently they do not. To this end I want to map a xbacklight command to each of these keys.
Problem: running xbacklight alone or with any arguments and options returns: No outputs have backlight property
I read here that "it is a driver issue. The vesa and fglrx drivers simply do not support backlight setting. You may get better results from the radeon driver." (The OP is not me.)
But I am using the Radeon driver (xf86-video-ati), so maybe this is not accurate. However I was using the fglrx driver before this, and the xf86-video-radeonhd driver before that. Is it possible that, even though I have now removed them, some trace of them remains, so that xbacklight mistakenly detects a driver with which it does not work? I closely followed ArchWiki's simple instructions when removing each driver before installing a new one.
Additional info: I am currently using laptop-mode-tools to automatically set brightness upon startup. This is fine if I want a static (or at least not quickly adjustable) brightness, but I do not think there is any clean way to make it work with the Fn keys. laptop-mode-tools writes to /proc/acpi/video/VGA/LCD/brightness but I also have /sys/class/backlight/acpo_video0/brightness which would presumably work as well.
Thank you for any help I have been eating neighborhood children in frustration.

try with setpci command ( for eg  setpci -s $DEVICE F4.B=<your brightness level> device is your device bus id)

  • Acrobat/Indesign does not export correct into the selected output intention (eci_iso_coated_v2_300)

I use the CS6 suite with Acrobat XI at windows platform.
When I want to save a file from InDesign as .pdf with output intention eci_iso_coated_v2_300 the result is a .pdf with more than 300% ink coverage.
I tried to transform the result in Acrobat XI into this standard output intention, but also the result has more than 300 % ink coverage.
What is the reason of this bug?
Before with Acrobat X this worked without problems

    Hi Rob,
I was told the new way to work would be to draw files via Bridge direct into the InDesign file
and I thought automatically the color would not be changed.
my colourmanagement setting in bridge for the whole CS6 was  ECI isocoated_V2_300
The Illustrator file was saved without color profile.
    In this test file I used 3 kinds of black: background of pirate in cmyk 79,34 / 72,78 / 59,38 / 79,88 = ink coverage 291 %
DÜSSELPIRATEN in “black” (if you would convert this in the file with the cmyk button it would be the same ink-percentage as before
    “e.V.” was set to 100 % k
I set the preferences for Acrobat from InDesign CS6 as pdf X4 with profile eci isocoatedV2_300 in three ways:
    no color conversion
    convert to profile
convert to profile keeping existing values
in all tree files the pirates background has 322 % ink coverage instead of 291 %
Why does Acrobat convert “black” in the wrong way?  If I click in Illustrator on the 4c button to convert the “black” into 4c it is 291% ink
Acrobat should come to the same result with all profiles: iso coated V2 and iso coated V2_300
The same happens also by saving as .pdf X3 or .X1
The minimum what I expect is, that Acrobat reduces ink coverage for black to 300 %
I also made test with the new ECI profiles for laminated prints from 2012.
    And with newspaper profiles
In this case the ink coverage comes below 300 %, but only when I choose convert to profile.
And then the 100 % k converts to cmyk, what I don’t want to have with text.
Is there no way to reduce ink coverage below a special percentage without changing Text 100% k
And is there a bug in Acrobat XI with the ECI IsoCoated_V2_300 Profile? For there is no color reduction below 300 % in all conversion settings.
I can’t test this with Acrobat X or IX, for my computers with this software don’t run with CS6 64 bit.
    enclosed you find my files

  • Determine ICC output profile (name) in PDF/X output intent

    Hi all,
I have a PDF of which I need to determine the ICC output profile (name) of the PDF/X output intent. This is what I have in the 'content stream':
    <</Metadata 6 0 R/OutputIntents[<</DestOutputProfile 7 0 R/Info(OFCOM. ISO 12647-2:2004 / Amd 1, Offset commercial and specialty printing according to ISO 12647-2, paper type 1 or 2 \(gloss or matte coated offset, 115 g/m2\), screen frequency 60/cm.)/OutputConditionIdentifier(FOGRA39)/RegistryName(http://www.color.org)/S/GTS_PDFX/Type/OutputIntent>>]
How can I, based on this information, determine what the name of the ICC profile in the PDF/X output intent is? Adobe Acrobat's output preview tells me that is should say / find ''ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)'.
    Thanks in advance.
    Didier

Thanks! Thought it would be something in that direction. Any tools or libraries you might know that can be used to extract and parse this kind of information (as part of a preflight process or something else)? Adobe tools for instance?

The drawing picture is drawn at runtime by the servlet.

    Thanks, BalusC.
But I am not sure if I understand your reply fully.
From my understanding, you are telling me to first generate a html from a servlet with the image <IMG> tag pointing to a servlet which will be responsible to generate an image?

  • PDF/X-3:2 (PDF 1.3): Destination differs from Output Intent; how to set Destination -

    Hello.
In InDesign CS5 (7.0), I set up a document containing greyscale images (profile: Dot Gain 15%) and cmyk-images (profile: Euroscale Coated v2). The latter is also the working space, and it is also the Output Intent Profile Name set in the Export Adobe PDF Dialog under Output – PDF/X. The Colour Settings in the .indd set the Colour Management Policies to Preserve Embedded Profiles (and Colour Conversion is set to No).
Now, when exporting this .indd to a .pdf (PDF/X-3:2 (PDF 1.3)), the Summary tells me that the Destination is ISO Uncoated Yellowish, and Acrobat (View – Navigation Panels – Standards) feels:
    Conformance:
    Standard: PDF/X-3:2002
    ISO Name: ISO 15930-3
    Status: verification succeeded
    Trapped:False
    OutputIntent
    Identifier: ISO Uncoated Yellowish
    Info: ISO Uncoated Yellowish
—so what was Destination in the export settings now appears as Output Intent, meaning:  the Destination overrides the OutputIntent as set in the export settings.
I have no idea where this ISO Uncoated Yellowish comes from. As far as I can see, nothing, neither in the placed content, nor in the document, has this profile set.
In a second document, with the exact same settings as specified above and the only difference that it contains only greyscale images. In this case, Acrobat sees the Identifier as FOGRA1 (which is indeed the (greyed out, unchangeable) setting in the export Dialog's Output – PDF/X – Output Condition Identifiert—but that is the case in the first document, too), and the Info as Euroscale Coated v2. This seems correct, but why might "ISO Uncoated Yellowish" appear in the first case, and how would I get rid of it and set  the correct Destination?
    Thanks a lot.

No, it isn't a colour space, but there's still grey profiles, specifying e.g. the dot gain.
Links panel does list the gray profiles, but they're not used in anyway.
If you assign different gray profiles in Photoshop the gray profile makes the conversion back to monitor RGB for preview. So here's the same image with 10% and 30% dot gain in Photoshop and the previews are very different even though the output values are the same:
If I place the two images in ID and turn on overprint the previews are identical (the output values are also identical)—via the document CMYK profile, which is EuroScale here. The preview would be the same if you pasted the grayscale into the black channel of a CMYK document:
If I export the ID doc as PDF/X-4 which includes all profiles, the grayscales show as DeviceGray (no profile):

  • Acrobat DC: Ink Manager no longer works, as well as Convert Colors to Output intent?

I often have to flatten CMYK+spot PDFs to CMYK only. I normally open the file, click the ink manager, check "Convert all spots to process" and click OK. That takes care of it.
In the latest update, that no longer seems to do anything at all. If I preflight the file after following the old process, the file still shows spot color errors. In order to convert the spot colors I now have to:
    1.) Open the file
    2.) Open the convert dialog
3.) Click Ink manager in that dialog,
4.) Check "Convert all spots to process"
5.) Click OK in the Convert Colors dialog.
I realize that isn't a lot of work, but over a lot of files it adds up. Plus it should just work as it used to.
Finally, prior to the last two versions of Acrobat, I was able to open the convert colors dialog, check off "Covert Colors to Output Intent" and click OK to convert all spot colors in a file to CMYK. That option appears to be perpetually grayed out.

    Hey SeanL_EPS,
Thank you so much for your valuable feedback. I really appreciate that.
Using Acrobat DC, what happens if you simply type 'Ink Manager' in Search Tools text box on the right hand side and check 'Convert all Spots to Process'.
Also, the option to select an 'Output Intent' from Convert Colors requires the PDF document to already have an Output Intent explicitly set.
You might need to first run the Preflight tool which will explicitly set the Output Intent.
You can also refer the following KB file link from here:

  • Carriage Returns in output

    Hi
I am trying to read an Excel file and display output but all I get is a load of carriage return characters (hollow squares) in the output.
It is ok reading .txt files.
Is there something I need to include when reading .csv files?
If so what would that be and where do I need to include it in my code?
Here is the code I am using:

// Get the object of DataInputStream
                DataInputStream in = new DataInputStream(fstream);
                BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(in));
                String strLine;

Don't accuse me of not listening. None of the suggestions made sense and since I am new to Java I decided to put the discussion in the New to Java forums.

Please let me know, how to configure Return sales order output as email send to creator(end user).
Business don't want to send it to customer, They need it in their mailbox as PDF and later they will send it to customer when ever they wants...
Please provide some solution on this issue.
    Regards,
    Sathiesh pillai.

    Hi,
You need to configure the output determination for return order type. The "Internal Output (MAIL)" output type can be used. For sending PDF copy to user himself, the user data should be maintained as "mail partner".
From what i read from your question, you want to send PDF file to user who logged into system to create return order. If yes, then the program need to pick user-id who logged into the system and use his/her email id as communication for sending PDF file. For this, minor code changes will be required to make mail partner defaulted to end-user and not look at customer account partners of the return order.
If user going to be same for every return order, then you may use TVARVC variant table to store his/her email id and check that table while sending email.

  • Does SAP have standard return Po output?

    Hi experts
Now we plan to use return po flag on PO item. In case ,it's po which return to vendor, We will check the po return item flag. The return PO form will be some different from the standard one. eg: the title will not be purchase order.
Since in purchase order condition, it could not trigger the item level- PO return flag. Even we craete new output type , it will not be trigger out.
what's the way to setup return po form ? Any one use this return po funciton? Or if it's possible we could create new form and program in form  / routine to trigger which form it need be printed?
    Thanks

    Hi Alice,
Based on your settings, if you will created now Return PO (means ticked the Return indicator under Doc type NDC) it will print the all zcac/zceu since you don't have the RTN output type.
Once you create your new form and new output type for Return PO. it will triggred automatic.
Doc type NBC will not be a problem for you since this is for your standard PO.
If you want try this in your Development Client
    Do some testing like:
    Output type: RTN
PO form ZPCC_PURCHOR_A4 (use this form)
    Doc type: NBC
Just create a RTN output type. Then create a PO with Retrn Ind ticked, Doc type is NBC. Then in ME22N/ME23N, do a print preview.
the system should ask you 3 output types:
    zcac/zceu/rtn
you have to select rtn, it will obviously print your current PO form since you dont have new one.
if you dont meet this, try to check you message output whther RTN is maintain if not you may maintain manually for this testing only.
    hope this is OK.

  • EEM TCL cli_read_line returns whole output

I'm writing a script that excutes some show commands with cli_write, the idea is to use cli_read_line to parse output one line at time, then using cli_read_drain after done reading the results of interest.
However, cli_read_line always returns the entire command output, potentially thousands of characters. In other words, it behaves same as cli_read.
That is slowing down and complicating the script. Using IOS 15.1(4)M1.
Is there a way to make cli_read_line work as per documentation ?

Unfortunately, the cli_read* functions are not non-blocking, and thus cli_read_line will not work the way you want.  I'm pushing to add more true send/expect like functionality to the cli_lib functions in a future release of EEM.  In the meantime, you might try:
    cli_read_pattern $fd ".*"
To read anything.  Then parse the return into lines and iterate over them.  I had to do something similar in my EASy Remote Command shell tool to get around the limitations in cli_read_line.

  • RV_PRICE_PRINT_HEAD not returning all output conditions

    Hi experts,
I am using the FM 'RV_PRICE_PRINT_HEAD' to get the header conditions but it is returning only specific condition types. I need all the header conditions maintained in the sales order.
Is it possible to get all conditions through this FM ?
    Help me on this issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Karthik

    Hi Karthi,
as documented this function module will return only conditions that are flagged for print output in calculation scheme.
    What is your requirement?
    Regards,
    Clemens
