Returning TV due to screen blackout

Hi,
I purschased Samsung LED TV last week. The TV went well for couple of days and started developing some internal cracks while it was on.
The TV is not broken but some manufacturing defects surfaced on its operation for couple of days. There is no damage from outside to the TV screen at all and it looks just the same when I purchased it.
Can I return it to the store for exchange? Please respond. Thanks.

To back up what Crystal says, unless there is a defect from manufacturer there is close to no way that a TV develops cracks without some force applied to it.
Considering That store managers see people say they "did nothing to it" every day when you can clearly see the break pattern spread out from where it was hit this leads to managers seeing all breaks as physical abuse. 99% this is correct.
Problem is internal screen cracking plagues Samsung TVs this year. It's obvious to everyone it's due to manufacturing process, yet (like Samsung usual does) Samsung denies it and won't issue a statement that its their fault.
Now considering store managers can't keep up extensively on every product, most do not know this as there is no release from Samsung. Since they have nothing to go on so they consider it physical abuse. They do this because if they send to many "faulty" units back to Samsung that Samsung denies are faulty; then Samsung can pull their promotional pricing, margins or other bonuses.
It's just a bad situation for everyone. I would try the store first and calmly ask if there can be a return. Explain the situation fully. I will tell you it will possibly be a no.
If so then go to Samsung and don't let them try to wiggle out of it. There is already 6 class actions against Samsung and 2 more that we're already judged on to the customers side. Samsung needs to be held responsible.

    Bjpolinda,
Do you have a recent iCloud or iTunes backup? If so, just plug your phone into iTunes, restore the phone and bring your backup back by following the prompts on the phone.
If you didn't back up your phone before attempting to update, you may have lost all your photos and other data on your phone. If you restore the phone through iTunes, it will most definitely wipe your phone of all data and reset it to factory settings.

  • Since upgrading to 7.1 on my iphone 5C I try to open the phone icon to make a phone call and it tries to open then returns to the home screen.  I also cannot get anything else to open.  It will randomly reboot or just freeze.

I just got my iphone 5C on Wednesday, I was slow to move my apps over because well I loved my iphone3.  Never had any problems!
I finally moved my apps over last night and was prompted to upgrade to 7.1.  I upgraded, then received a voicemail, listened to part of the voicemail (the phone dropped the call) and went back to the main screen.
Then nothing worked. I try to open the phone icon and it tried to open but it returned to the main screen.  I tried opening anything else and nothing will work.  Not even the phone icon.  It also would not shut down.
I let it sit for twenty minutes and tried to turn it off.  Then ten minutes later it just rebooted itself.  Waited until it came back up and tried to open settings, photo, camera, phone nothing will open.
I know the touch is still working because it is locked and it will allow me to unlock it every time.  So I guess something is working.
    Any suggestions?

Finally got my phone to power off.  I was able to reset the phone and everything is now working.  I guess I just needed patience!

  • When I try to play music on my iPod touch it automatically returns to the artists screen. Does anyone know how to resolve this..?

When I try to play music on my iPod touch it immediately returns to the artists screen. Can anyone help?

    - First try a reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Next would be a restore. First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factoruy defaults/new iPod.

    Hello Edward
Follow the prompts on your iPhone and you will get either at your home screen like normal or get to a point of restoring from back up. The article below will give step by step for restoring from back up.

  • I am having an issue where safari keeps crashing and returning to the home screen on an ipad1

safari on my ipad1 keeps crashing and returning to the home screen. rebooting does not fix the problem neither has a full reset through itunes from a backup or setting up as a new machine. Cab nay body help?

If restoring from a backup doesn't help, you must have something corrupt in the backup - like a Safari bookmark perhaps - or something in the Safari history. Try the last tip in this list first.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Close Safari and all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Cache. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

how can I return to the previous screen in safari?  the arrow is often grayed out.

Try a 2 finger swipe left or right to change screens. If that doesn't work go to System Preferences/Trackpad/More Gestures and set it up.

  • How can I return to a split screen set-up?

While I was away on business, a co-worker shared my computer and somehow changed the appearance of my inbox to a full screen. I want to return to the split screen which allows me to see my e-mails and read the highlighted one in the split screen format I had originally.

Please keep your discussion in this thread. Do not PM me. Other people might benefit from the discussion.
You say that pressing F8 does not turn on the Message Pane? You are in the main window with your Inbox showing right?
From the Menu Bar select View-Layout. is Message Pane checked?
No Menu Bar? Press the alt key.
If it is checked and still no message pane showing, maybe it got dragged off the bottom of the screen. Move your mouse down toward the bottom margin of the screen and watch for it to change to a double headed arrow. When it does click and drag up to see if you can pull up the message pane.

  • Random screen blackout 2009 24 inch Cinema Display... HELP.

Random screen blackouts with 24 inch Cinema Display (purchased 2009). Never used with anything but same Macbook Pro (2009). No hardware changes on MBP. Just started June 6, 2012. Super annoying. Anyone else having this issue? Recommendations?

    Hello, Ertjie.
The link titled Download the 24-inch LED Cinema Display Update from the kb/TS4045 article worked for me when I tried it today.  Click the "Download" link I post here or try the one in the kb article again.  Perhaps it will work for you now?
However, I note that the kb article expressly states that this firmware update:
...is only intended for use with and will only install on the Apple 24-inch LED Cinema Display while the display is connected to a Thunderbolt-enabled Mac. (EZ Jim emphasis added)
If your Mac is really using Mac OS X (10.6.8)  as shown in your initial topic posting, your Mac may not be Thunderbolt-enabled.   If so, contact Apple or your Apple-Authorized Service Provider for help.

  • HT204266 I have an iPhone 4s and I have been having troubles with the downloaded apps. I have tried everything from re installation to restarting and deleting but nothing is working. When I press the icon, there is a flash and I return to my home screen.

Exactly as I mentioned above, the app just gives a flasha nd returns to the home screen, I have tried everything and nothing has really worked. Any suggestions?

Basic troubleshooting steps straight out of the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.  Have you been through ALL of these steps?

The buttons do wear out, and when they do you'd need to get the phone serviced.

  • Using Cap6, need to create menu screen that allows user to click a button, branch to other screens, and return to main menu. When returning to the main screen the button that was clicked will be grayed out or inactive.  How do I do this?  I created image

I am trying to emulate a piece of equipment.  I need the user to be able to click on specific buttons that will take the user to another screen(s).  After viewing those screens the user will be directed back to the main screen where the user would know which buttons had been pressed and which still needed to be pressed.  I create image buttons with the 3 states - that worked except when the user returns the slide is reset and so the user does not see the 3rd state of the button.  How can I get that 3rd state to stay after user returns to the main screen?

    Hi Elizabeth,
Since I just did this morning what you are currently attempting to do, I thought I'd share my method.  I must provide a disclaimer and tell you that I am not an expert in Captivate advanced actions--like you, I am still figuring them out.  However, I am happy to share here anything I have learned thus far.
First, here is what my initial slide looks like (see interaction slide below).  I created all of the icons (including the 'grayed out' icon on the second screenshot) in a few minutes using Adobe Illustrator. The icons have been imported as custom multi-state buttons so that I could have the desired effect when the user hovers over the image--the yellow 'explore' flag appears only when the mouse is over the icon. When the learner click either image, they are sent to the corresponding slide.  Once both slides are viewed, a 'continue' button will appear at the base of the screen (something I've not figured out--I sent an email to Lieve begging for some guidance).
    The initial slide (interaction slide):
Second, here is a depiction of what happens when the learner returns to the interactive slide from the content slide (see image below):  Once the learner visits the 'Battery Content' slide and then returns to the interaction slide, the images have changed.  The multi-state button is hidden (through the advanced action), the replacement image (the image with the completed banner over it) is shown, and a hidden click box to allow the user to return to the previously visited page (just in case they desire to do that) is "shown" to allow navigation since the button is no longer there (because it is magically hidden).
    Content Slide 1:
Remember, there may be an easier way to do this in Captivate.  I am using Cp6 for this module.
    1. I created two user variables as follows
    Name: v_batteryExplore
    Value: 0
    Name: v_fuelExplore
    Value: 0
    2. I created an advanced action for each as shown below (showing only one--duplicate the first and change the names to match the content):
Credit: I learned these steps from @Lilibiri and Dr. Pooja Jaisingh!
I have also noticed that it matters where the buttons are located on the timeline.  It seems best to have buttons above all other content.  Not sure why, but I have had images not appear when I have not done this.
And the last step you do not want to forget; you need to remember to tell Captivate to use the action.
As a final note, remember that the elements you do not want to appear on the initial screen must not be initially visible.  Make sure to set them to invisible by removing the checkmark in the 'Visible in output' box located next to the button name.  In my case, the image of the completed battery and the invisible button to allow a revisit of content was initially hidden.  Here is a final screenshot of my timeline for this interaction.  I hope this information helps you!

  • Repeated return to the home screen

My iPhone is constantly returning to the home screen when I am using the safari or maps. Network (Wi-Fi/Edge) does not matter. Any suggestions. thanks

I am having the same issue with my iPhone. Seems to happen on either Edge or Wifi. Also seems to happen when I am pinching or scrolling around the screen (at least in Safari).
This has started to happen more often (now to the point of being annoying) in just the last couple of days. My phone is not quite a month old.
Did a reset of settings to see if this helps at all.
