Reversal of F/X valuation

Hi All,
We are in ECC 6.0 (New G/L).
We use FAGL_FC_VAL for the f/x revaluation on the last day of the month which will be reversed on the first of the next period.
The users want to reverse the entries posted last month (Sep '2010).
There are 5 postings in Sep '2010 and they are offset in Oct'2010 (5 more postings).
Question is, can we reverse these 10 entries (5 + 5 ) using regular doc reverse trxn - FB08. - Option A
Once reversed can we rerun the reval process?
Or should we use the "Reset" option instead. - Option B
If we use option "A", when we rerun the reval I don't see any records.
As mentioned by Ravi, in earlier posting the "valuation Indicators" are not removed by this method.
So main question is, what are the pro's / con's of using FB08. Or is "Reset" a better option.

Thanks Ganesh,
     Appeciate your immediate response.
So just to clarify:
We need to manually repost the 5 originals entries which are posted as part of revlaution for Sep'2010.
& Also their offsets in Oct'2010. (5 more). We have saved the output when we ran the reval.
Come next month F/X Reval time (Oct'2010).. Will it be ok or do we expect any issues.

  • Reversal of documents already valuated

    Hi,
I have a problem regarding revaluation.
-I revaluate the august balance sheet on the 2nd of the September
-Then I reverse one of the documents on the 3rd of September which were included on the 2nd of September
-Then I run revaluation again on the 4th of September
The question is if the revaluation on the 4th will correct the impact of the earlier revaluation of the document which was reversed?
    How do I adjust that?
    Thanks
    Danielle

First of all I want to let you know.
You can't run Foreign currency valuation(FCV) whenever you want, this can be executed at period end where system generates the accounting entries for forex rate fluctuations and the same entries can be reversed on next month first date. Beacuse the forex difference is unrealized, so system reverse the same entries on the next month first date.
In your case there is no impact at all beacuse while executing the FCV at period end the transaction can be taken into consideration.
But please remember one thing, FCV has to be executed as a final step, after this you should not post any entries.

  • How to coorect a reversed document but wrong valuation date

    Hello Experts,
We are on our closing activity right now.
But we have encountered a problem wherein we reversed a billing with corresponding issuance (601).The original posting has a valution date (sample: 7/23/2009) of the period we are closing, but the reversal has a valuation of the next period (Aug 3, 2009). Now the account connected to the reversal has gathererd the MAP for the next period (Aug 3, 2009).
So right now we are having a discrepancy on the Account connected to the transaction since different MAP are gathered since valuation date of the two transactions are not on the same period.
    How can I solved this......?
    Thanks Gurus.

As you may be aware for any SD document, if corresponding Accounting Document is generated, then you cannot make any adjustments from SD side.  It has to be addressed from FI side only where they have to pass JV

  • Reversal of foreign currencey valuation run with bal sheet prep val option

We have created foreign currency valuation run for the month ended 30th April 2008 on 30th April 2008 with reversal postings. Subsequently another run was created on the same date for the same month erroneously with u201Cbalance sheet preparation valuationu201D option for which system has not created reversal document. Now we want to reverse these documents without manual reversal to avoid adjustment entries during clearing. Please advice me.

    Hi
You could reset the valuation difference by using the following method:
1.T-cd:OB59->selecting the valuation method ->in valuation precedure area, selecting "reset" radio button->save it.
    2. T-cd:F.05 ->using the same parameters that you ticked the balance sheet preparation valuation" box when you ran F.05 last time.
3.After running F.05->BSEG-BDIFF will be reset to zero in valuated docs.
    4. change customization Reset -> your old method.
    5. once again run foreign currency valution

  • Reverse Foreign Currency valuation

    Hello,
Does Anyone know how to reverse a foreign currency valuation. I basically ran a foreign currency valuation with a wrong date and the valuation posted some data which is junk. I need to reverse this data. Is there any way of reversing a Foreign currency valuation SAPF100.
    Thanks for your help
    Keyur

    Keyur,
I found in a couple of other posts in the forum that the only way to reset a valuation in classic GL is to have a valuation method (OB59) with Reset radio button and then run F.05 with that valuation method and the 'Balance Sheet preparation valuation'  checkbox checked in the postings tab of F.05 transaction.
Here are the links to those posts.

  • Group Currency mismatch - FC Valuation Reversal

    Good Day!
After running reversal for foreign currency valuation (new GL), we noticed that Group currency was not populated causing a small mismatch.
We ran valuation again after reversal and the open item was still valuated properly. Do you have any idea what caused this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Jayj

    Hi Joseph,
Could you please check if anything's missed out from the layout option when reversal for foreign currency program is run and the output being displayed.
Please go through below URL from WIKI SCN on foreign currency which might help you in sorting out the mismatch.

  • Reversal entry for f.05 foreign currency valuation

    Hi all,
we are in SAP 4.7 R/3.
we run f.05 for balance sheet bank account (the Gl currency USD).
when we run f.05 there supposed to generate the reversal entry automatically by the system. but in our case there is no reversal entry generated.
now i want to do the reversal manually .i have tried the fb08 but it is useless and fund that we can not reverse the document posted through the tcoed f.05 in fb08.
the entry posted during the f.05 is:
    50     bank a/c                 0 USD     and   3,6890 INR
    40 unrealised gain/loss     0 USD     and   3,6890 INR.
now i want to reverse the above entry manually as there is no reversal entry generated during the f.05.
now my doubt is how to reverse the above entry and we can only post USD to the bank GL acc. can not post INR directly to GL.
but in the above entry USD is showing the 0 amount.
please seggest me its very very urgent.
i would appreciate your speed reply.
    thank you,
    Sandhya Reddy.

    Hi,
If you checked "Bal.sheet preparation valuatn" in the "Postings" tab of F.05, it will not permit a reversal posting. The valuation difference will be written into your open items, and the next month, F.05 will only record the difference between the last revaluation run and the curren revaluation run.
You can also tell if you used "Bal.sheet preparation valuatn" if you see numbers in the column "Old Difference".

  • Error when using automatic clearing (F.13)with foreign currency valuation.

    Hello all
below is our problem, please suggest us a solution
We are experiencing a problem when running the automatic clearing in SAP. Somehow, the system seems to clear (with no reason) open items created with the revaluation of foreign currency.
Let's say that we run the valuation of open items in foreign currency for December 31, and we run the program to post the reverse entry as of  January 1 of the next year. As a result of this valuation, the system calculates a loss of 10 euros. Therefore, it posts a document with a debit entry of 10 into the Loss account, and a credit of 10 in to account where the valuation was carried out. This document has a posting date of December 31. The batch program also creates the reversing entry, this time a credit entry into the Loss account, and a debit into the original account.
If now, we try to run the automatic clearing (F,13) on December 31 for those accounts, the system will create (automatically) a document on December 31, similar to the reversing entry that the valuation created, clearing at the same time, the first document that the valuation originally created.
The final result then is that the valuation makes a posting, and we end up having two reversing entries. Does it make sense?
In our scenario in the system P70, for MX10, we have a foreign currency valuation run on December 31st, which posted the document numbers:
    1)  5100004579/2008, for a total of  0 euros, and 240,483.17 MXN. Credit to account 11081108 Finavigate cash receipt bank collect.CMG MXN.Debit to account 18601000 Losses f.foreign curr.valuation on financial trans
    2) In the same batch, the system also books a reversing entry (doc 5100000042/2009) with posting date 01.01.2009 with exactly the same opposite entries as in the previous document.
    3) After this, we run the automatic clearing with posting date 31.12.2008, and now, the system creates automatically the document 5000003236/2008, which clear the original document, 5100004579.
The final result, as you can see, it's out of balance, there is an additional document that we need to reverse.
    Thanks in advance
    sujatha

To my knowledge you get do two things:
    1. In F.13 transaction don't include both the GL accounts where the Dr. and Cr. posting from the valuation run have taken place. With this the system won't find the matching entry.
    2. If you want to use all the GL accounts in F.13, then check the clearing procedure configuration and make suitable changes.
With the info provided, this is the only thing I can suggest.
    Regards,
    ~Vishal.

  • Foreign exchange valuation

    Dear All,
We had done a valuation run and then reversed the valuation run documents thru mass reversal mode (mannually). Because there was some error in the initial valuation. By this time, the intial valuation got reversed by the system also on first of next month. Now we have to reverse the system reversal which got passed on first of next month. Can someone please tell us the method to do that. We are not able to reverse the reversal passed by the system on first of next month by calling the documents, bcoz it gives an error message saying this document cannot be reversed because it is already reversed.
Please help me to come out of the problem. If you need any additional info, please let me know.
    Regards
    Suresh

    Hi
Reversal of reversal is not possible.
Here, you need to reverse the documents reversed manually (mass reversal) and do the valuation again.
Postings made to loss/gain account are reversed automatically, so effects is nil.
Now, the extra posting made is the mass reversal, pass the reverse JV for the same
    and do the valuation again.

  • View Postings and Messages for Valuation and Translation

    Hi Everyone,
Inevitably after valuation (FAGL_FC_VAL) or translation (FAGL_FC_TRANS) is run at month-end and the user exits out of the transaction, questions arise as to how certain items were revalued or translated.  What I'm trying to locate is if there is a way to retrieve the details from the "Posting", "Messages" and main screen view of the transaction AFTER the user has exited the transaction.  Are those logs stored somewhere or is there a way to recreate the data somehow?
These are the items that I would like to be able to retrieve at anypoint:
    The program generates three lists:
List of valuated line items or G/L account balances
List of postings or posting proposals
List of messages (own spool file)
    Thanks,
    Pete

    Hello,
Unfortunately, there's no option in standard functionality to realize the requirement.
One workaround is to identify all valuation/reversal documents. For valuation document, BKPF-BKTXT is filled with "FC Valuation" and reversal with "Reverse posting", so it's not difficult to identify documents.
Also processed documents and valuation difference is stored in table FAGL_BSBW_HISTRY (for items) FAGL_BSBW_HST_BL (for balance). Maybe these tables contain necessary info.

  • Repair error in material documents (from non-valuated to valuated)

    Hi Gurus,
We have a urgent problem, for one mistake in material document type, the valuated flag was change to not valuated, it was create 500 material document without financial document. Now, the mistake was corrected and now generates again material documents with financial documents for this material type. My questios is: is there any way (programs develop for you, so on) to re-generate the financial document for material document non-valuated?
Really, I don´t think so but.....
    Thanks in advance & regards

No you can not do that except you reverse all the non valuated material document and the recevie again then only you can generate the FI documents

  • Posting in local currency on foreign currency account/correctionOfValuation

    Hi everybody!
I have a problem, and I hope someone will help me.
Is there any way to make posting in local currency on account with foreign currency as the account currency?
The reason why I'm asking this, is that I have to make corrections to currency valuation.
This is the situation: they made foreign currency valuation for last period of previous fiscal year. Instead without reversing, they made it with reversing, on the first day of 1. period in the new fiscal year. After this, they made reversing (fb08) of reversing document created by valuation program. Of course, after all, they have wrong valuation for every next period.
I have to make corrections in 3. period (1. and 2. are closed).
This is my idea: I want to make valuation for date 31.12.2006. with postings in 3. period, without reversing, and than, to make posting of valuated amount, but with opposite sign mark (if the valuation was 1000EUR debit, I'll make 1000EUR credit). I want to have effect of reversing, without running fb08.
Balance for the 3. period will be 0, but every next valuation will be ok (it will valuate difference for 31.12.2006., not difference for document posting date).
If anybody have idea how to make posting on foreign currency account, or the other way to make correction of valuation, I'll be grateful.
    Best regards

Create one FI documents with multiple line items as per the following example. In this case you need to enter amount in both local currency and in document currency fields-
If you want to post credit of USD 5.00
Line 1: Local currency  Dr. USD 5; Doc currency =x
Line 2: Local currency  Cr. USD 10; Doc currency =x
Net impact in local currency is Cr USD 5 and doc currency is nil.

  • Foreign Currency Posting Clearing

    Hi,
I have a foreign currency clearing issue. Please look-in to my scenario below.
We are in SAP R/3 4.6C. We have two billing document (open item) one is advance payment and other is billing invoice with same amount (in foreign currency) and foreign exchange rate.
Now we have run the valuation for the both the document and reversed the same. Here when i check the BSEG after reversal, the BSEG-BDIFF (Valuation diff.) is updated for one document (Adv payment) only not for the other billing document.
the problem is that when we try to clear the documents, one more entry is getting generated for the account ( Bal. sheet adj.1) which we have maintain in OBA1 for the down payment account, this account should be posted at the time of valuation only not at the time of realization.
Please correct me if i have mistaken the concept.
Here what i could find, if at the time F.05, we have check "Bal. sheet preparation valuation" then the only the different posting will be set in BSEG-BDIFF. BUT here we have valuated both these documents by one document only and the reversal also done by one document only then why for one document only the field BSEG-BDIFF is updated.
How this extra posting happen to Bal. sheet adj.1 account will get nullify to have right status of Bal sheet.
Please let me know if more information required.
    Regards,

    Hi,
Valuation entries are only for the ake of financial statements.
    Realizaton entries are real entries.
System doesnt post to "Bal. sheet adjustment account" at the time of realization, it posts only at valuation time.
    Please check FCV again.

  • Differ in Exch appears while clearing account 1212 where no forecurren used

    Hi All,
Please help me on this issue,
Difference in Exchange appears while clearing account 1212000 where no foreign currency is used.
Problem description: as one of my activities is clearing of account 1212000. On this account loan interests and its payment are recorded. All amounts are posted in EUR. No DIE should be recognized and while clearing this account there should be no impact on P&L:
However while clearing (doc no 20000503801 Difference in exchange in amount of 13.567,40 EUR (equal to 18.336,73 USD) were posted automatically on account 5432100.
As I have noticed while August closing this Diference in exchange will be automatically reversed late evening while valuation report is running:
I have two questions regarding this issue:
What is the reason that Difference in exchange  appears for transactions performed in one currency. Is it designed on purpose or is it a spin-off effect of performed upgrade? Before upgrade there was not such an issue.
1.In case if these Difference in exchange remains will it be always reversed automatically while valuation?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Raghavendra,
Yes, the SAP note is very helpful and it is indeed due to the one of the tax condition being processed and therefore its tax code flow down to the other non tax items.
I have tried to shift up the conditon type before the tax condition in the procedure, but i realised that it generate billing errors.
Initially, the sequence in my PP is
    270     0     ZGX1     GST Pseudo 1
    280     0     ZGSX     GST Exclusive
    290     0     ZGXA     GST Absorb
    300     0     ZGX2     GST Pseudo 2
    310     0     ZGX3     GST Pseudo Diff.
The tax code comes from ZGSX, which is created as a tax condition type using ZGST as reference.
I tried to shift ZGX2 to step 275 below ZGX1 so that it will not inherit the tax code from ZGSX, but it gives billing error.
I tried moving ZGX1 down to step 295, but it also give billing errors.
When I removed the reference to ZGST for ZGX1, and change the calculation type to formula, it removes the billing errors. But I got zero values for both ZGX1 and ZGX2, even if i read table with key KSCHL = 'ZGSX'. I tried 'ZGST' with no success also. Good news is, the tax code in ZGX2 is gone.
Strangely, if i change the condition type of ZGX2 to reference to ZGST, and use the same formula as ZGX1, it does not gives billing error. But ZGX1 continue to be empty.
Can someone help me on this?
    Thank you!
    Albert Lee

  • Having problem to release billing document to accounting

trying to release billing document to accounting but it is not permitting to release showing error " Reversal of document compay code xxxxxxxx document no xxxxxxxx 2010 v3 not possible in FI"
    Diagnosis
Item & v4 in accounting document CC Document No Fiscal year
was valuated with an open item foreign currency valuation.
    System Response
    Document cannot be reversed.

    Hi,
Please check if on the original FI document, screen field BSEG-BDIFF is filled with a value.
If yes, this is because a valuation of foreign currencies has run already (see program SAPF100 and Documentation please for further info). To successfully reverse your document, this valuation run needs to be reversed first.
Please check note 545032  FAQ: SAPF100 Reversing "Balance Sheet Prep." Valuation Runs to assist you.
Important: Only include the one document that you want to cancel in the reversal of SAPF100.
