Trouble with buttons on a call

Whenever I am on a call, I hold my phone close to my ear and face, and it happens to accidentally hit one of the 6 keys on the screen (like mute, keypad, contacts, etc.) So while I am on a call, I either get muted so the person can't hear me, or I end up calling someone on my contacts that I didn't want to call... Is anyone else having this problem...what can I do?

This should not happen.
The iPhone has what is called a Proximity sensor that detects when you lift iPhone to your ear and immediately turns off the display to save power and prevent inadvertent touches until iPhone is moved away.

If this is not working properly, I'm not sure a Reset or Restore will be beneficial but will likely be what AppleCare has you do first and if no change, your iPhone will be picked up for inspection/testing for repair or possible replacement.

Having trouble with buttons in motion menus

I'm having some problems with buttons in motion menus:
- I've created a motion menu where some text (button names) fade in.
- I set a loop point after the text has faded in completely.
- I set the end condition to "loop"
(there is some animation after the text fades in that I would like to loop)
- I draw out 5 buttons and assign different overlay colors to each of the button states.
The problem is that each time the motion menu jumps back to its loop point.. the menu seems to stutter - the overlay color on the currently selected button turns off for a second and the button is momentarily disabled (can't be selected). This problem only shows up on the actual dvd build. The buttons work smoothly when tested in the simulator.
I can avoid this problem by losing the animation and just setting the end condition to "still".. but I was wondering if anyone knows if there is something I might have missed or could try as a workaround.

It could be how the DVD is reading the DVD (sort of the nature of DVD, everything is not exactly the same), because buttons will not show until the loop point and there may be a slight pause from end of animation in the menu to the loop point. And the overlay will turn off briefly when it hits the end.
Visually what you can do is make the animation in a manner so that at the loop point the buttons are part of the background itself and make sure your loop point is at that point (or slightly after) so it looks like the button is there.
For the most part the setting of still may work okay (really a creative call), sometimes listening to the same music/seeing samee animation may be too much (of course it depends on project) and you can jump to the loop point on the menu on subsequent calls

Trouble with buttons caling pages.

I have created a few buttons on several regions to call some pages via branches.
This is my current situation.
On my main page, lets say p_100. I have the following:

button conditional branch to page 122 (reset pagination: uchecked, On Submit: After Procesing(After validation....)
button item Request=Go
result: takes me to page 122 when clicked, AS EXPECTED.
button conditional branch to page 117 (reset pagination: unchecked, On Submit: After Processing(After validation....)
button item Request=Go
result: takes me to page 122 when clicked (WRONG PAGE)
region_B
button conditional branch to page 123 (reset pagination: uchecked, On Submit: After Procesing(After validation....)
button item Request=Go
result: takes me to page 122 when clicked
button conditional branch to page 118 (reset pagination: uchecked, On Submit: After Procesing(After validation....)
button item Request=Go
result: takes me to page 122 when clicked
I have verified I am indeed using the right buttons in each branch!!
Am I missing something?

Hi,
You need to change Request = Go to Request = somethingElse. It should be different for each button.
Then change your branches' conditionality to when button is pressed, and then tell it which button.
Every time you are clicking a button, it goes to the branch that matches with the "GO" request and has the highest sequence number.

Trouble with buttons

Hi - Having trouble getting my flash buttons working correctly. I had to change my concept from each button having a single link, to one that works ostensibly as a "drop down/pop up menu" with each containing several links.
I have a scaled down version to illustrate (see attached). I've started with the "Contact Us" button on the far right (figuring I could adapt it to the others once i got it working correctly). I can't figure out how to correctly work it so the pop up buttons disappear when a "roll out" occurs. I tried building in an invisible button/or hot spot with that specific action, but because of it needing to be placed above the actual menu, the menu buttons no longer work with that approach in place. Does any of this make any sense? Have i lost my mind?
Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Well, try this (it´s a bit difficult to describe)...
Try to imagine a big square-shaped button with a square-shaped hole somewhere in the middle. It should be invisible for the viewer (color alpha=0). Now, in the "hole" you place your other buttons, the visible ones as in the attached file. These buttons -because they´re uncovered, "looking through the hole"- will remain accesible, and they will be now sourrounded by an invisible big surface (the additional button you´ve created). This big invisible button contains some actions. On rollOver (and not on rollOut) it should hide/turn off the other ones (and perhaps even itself!). How about that? (Hope my explanation is somewhat understandable...)

Trouble with Buttons in Captivate 4

I am making a simple presentation wherein I have several buttons. Unfortunately no matter what I do with regards to set-up, ever button acts like a next button, This is even true for the buttons that I want to go back to a given slide or even back to the previous slide. I have set-up and re-set-up, delete and repeated countless times. I am frankly befuddled as to what I am doing wrong. I could sure use some help.

I cannot see the button on the slide: is it covered up with the image (GIF) or the Text Caption (do not know if this is transparent)? Can you put the button on top in the Timeline (just drag it up). And is it really necessary that the button is coming in so late and that the same action has to occur when clicking on the button or outside of it? Because if you want this, it could be better to use a Click Box (=transparent) that covers up all of the slide and configure the Success action for that box to jump to the next slide. But since you put the text 'Back' on your button I suppose that you want them to click the button if they want to get back to slide 1. What if they do not want to go back?
Lot of questions: do you want the user to get back anyway, or just when he clicks on the button 'Back'? I do not want to confuse you, but can you just tell me in plain English what you do want to happen when the user does what.

Sometimes the button does not register with Firefox. And sometimes FF acts like I pressed it several times.

Sounds like a mouse on its' way to mouse-heaven. Seriously, the exact symptoms I have seen with a dozen 3 button mouse's (?meese - ?mice) over the last 15 years. 
Not registering a click is usually due to a dirty contact. And the "double-click" is when the flat spring looses tension and bounces.
I have had similar happen with the left button, too. But when it happens to that button it is more noticeable much sooner.
I bought a box of a dozen A4D house branded infrared wireless 3-button mouse's for like $24.00 back in 2000 that were on clearance because the driver disk didn't support W2K, only Win95, 98, and NT4. I got newer drivers from the A4D website and wore all 12 out over the 8 or 9 years. I even fixed a few that broke from the parts from other broken mouse's. I still have 6 or 7 of them laying in the "needs to be fixed" box under my workbench. I'll probably never fix them though, the nano receiver USB mouses I have been using for the 4 or 5 years have much better battery life and lately only need one AA battery.

Trouble with popup not initialized until addPopUp is called

I am having troubles with initialization. I have a class given below. I new() it at the start and use PopUpManager.addPopUp to display it.
My problem is that the line query:QueryWIthOption id="filterComp" is a class with a lot of variables. However, if I try to set any of them before I call addPopUp, it doesn't work because filterComp is null.
I therefore either need to initialize filterComp earlier, store the data until AddToPopup is called, or change the way I am implementing this. If I store the data in variables, I have to add a whole bunch either to the class below or to the calling class.
Doing this once is managable, but I have other similar examples with a similar problem. This code was flex 3 before where filterComp was always initialized.
Is there any good way to do this? I guess I am interested in both the way to do this in a minimal way, and what is the best way to code to avoid this issue (if I am adding something new in the future).

I was thinking about what I would want and came up with the following suggested enhancement for Flex 4.
Add a preinitialize="true/false" type flag for UI type Components that indicates whether to initialize everything like was done in Flex 3, or whether to hold off initialization until used like is currently done. It would default to false.
Is there a way I can ask for/suggest this enhancement for a later version of Flex 4?
This change would greatly reduce the time needed to convert from flex 3 to flex 4.

Oh no, Robinbird18! This is not what we like to hear about your cell phone. It makes it pretty hard to have a conversation with someone when you can't hear them. If you make a phone call out are you able to have a conversation with someone without any issues? How long has this been going on? I'm having trouble with a virus or something which affects Google search results when I use Firefox on my PC ...
When I search a topic gives me pages of links as normal, but when I click on a link, the page is hijacked to a site called 'www.goingonearth.com' ...
I've done a separate search and found that other users are affected, but there doesn't seem to be a clear-cut solution ... (Norton, McAfee and Kaspersky don't seem to be able to detect/fix it).
I'd like to continue using the Firefox/Google combination (nb: the hijack virus also affects IE but not Safari) - do you have a patch/fix that could rectify the vulnerability in your software?

I am having a lot of trouble with trying to use my debit card on purchase of itune apps or music. Whenever i put my card information in it tells me that this card is invalid. But there is no way that my card is invalid because i just got it last week. So the only thing i haven't done yet is call my bank to check and see if all my bank statements match but if they do then have no idea what to do to get this to work with my computer, ipad mini, or ipod HELP! I do not have Mavericks running on my older MacBook Pro. During the call, do you have the microphone icon on the Skype window enabled or disabled? Have done that before.
My Skype preferences:
Microphone: Built-in Microphone (Internal microphone)
* Automatically adjust microphone settings is set
Ringing and Speakers: Built-in Output (Internal Speakers)
Camera: Built-in iSight.
System Preferences > Sound
Input tab: Internal Microphone
Output tab: Internal Speakers

Is anyone else having trouble with Siri calling someone from your Contacts on the Iphone 5?

Has anyone had trouble with Siri on the Iphone 5 in dealing with your Contacts. She gives all of the correct information on scores for the NFL but not if I ask her to call somebody in my contacts. She has no trouble with which movies are playing tonight at my local theaters.
If I ask her to call someone from my Contacts, she takes a very long time and then says something like this, "Uh oh, there's a problem. Can you try again?" or something of this nature. Any help appreciated. BTW I download my information from Itunes and also had to change my sim card in order for Verizon to keep my same telephone number.

I have not had this problem. I am new to Siri (with an iPhone 5 upgrade from an i4) and Siri has made a number of calls from my contacts. She asks, which John Doe (if I have more than one), which number (if I have more than one) and off we go.
Maybe, you have some setting wrong.

Problem with cheek pressing buttons while on calls

I have never had this issues before but since my upgrade I am having problems with the 5s pressing buttons such as mute, keys,etc during calls.

I do not have a screen protector but do have a case (Lifeproof). I had a similar Lifeproof case with my other 4s and 3 iphones and did not have this issues. Could it be the Issue with Proximity Sensor during calls?

After the Apple logo appears, what happens then? Can you hear any sounds or if you tap on the screen, does it seem like apps can open or are you just seeing a black screen? You might have a hardware problem, but you can try restoring the software and see what happens.
Read this in its entirety before you do anything. Make sure you read the sections at the end about using recovery mode.
