Revert imported activity on TEST

Hi all,
Some developer checked-in and imported some changes on a Development Component to TEST system. After that when users access the application (on test system) the system returns the error NodeInfo (path=DC1.DC2 Interface/DC2.ContextNode, class=com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.DataNodeInfo): cannot add a structure field to a non-structure node.
I've checked-out components DC1 and DC2 and when I'm going to edit them (WebDynpro perspective) I can not see the WD component interface, custom controllers and some other component's parts. I guess this is caused by a wrong modification but the fact that the other developer was able to check-in, activate and import the changes makes me doubt about my guess.
That's why I am asking how to revert the imported activity or meybe how to go back to the code on production system to try to correct the lost of DC parts. But if someone thinks that this problem could be solved by other way please let me know which is it and how to execute it.
I hope someone could help me with this problem.
Best regards,
Gregory Mayorga.

Hi Gregory,
there is no way to "revert an import". That is already history. What you can do is to find the problem, fix it, and then move it till the test phase again (check-in, activate, release, import to cons, assemble, import to test).
What you can try as well is to Sync To Date (i.e. pick a date where you did not have the problem yet) in NWDS, do your changes, and then walk through again the development cycle as I just wrote above.
Also in NWDS if you cannot see certain elements of your wd java application, then did you try to reload and rebuild the application? you can do these in the context menu of the wd java project.
Further, if I could see the whole trace as it is without any truncation and/or modification perhaps I could tell more (no guarantee though )
Cheers,
Ervin

  • Oracle Test Manager - Import of Manual Tests - Fails with ORA-12520:

    Hi,
This issue occurs when we are trying to import manual tests into the Oracle Test Manager.
The import fails when we try to import more than 300 records. The error message in the log
    is as shown below:
    Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed
ORA-12520: TNS:listener could not find available handler for requested type of server
    9:50:30:020 - *** DB Exception *** State:S1000,Native:12520,Origin:[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]

    State:S1000,Native:12520,Origin:[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]
No one can logon to the application after this.
According to the DBA the application is using up all the processes in the Database and hence it fails.
When we restart the application service, the number of processes in the database goes down
and the application goes back to normal state.
We keep running into this issue when we try to import >=300 manual tests. (This is not an issue
    when runs are imported.)
Anybody else facing this issue? Any ideas as to how this can be resolved?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I had some problems with. So, consider the following:
    Simple XLS file :
    testname     owner     testdescription               Expected Result
test1          wayne     Login into User Homepage     User can view login prompt
View Accout Details          User can see account details
Create simple report          User has access to reports section
Save as pdf               .pdf generate button is available
send email               email button is active
log off                    User can View log off page
So we have four fields, teatname, owner, testdescription and Expected Result.
When we import a test (select Test tab, then project->import data, and select .xls file)
Make sure Select Type is set to Manual Tests
    Map      testname -> TestCase ID
         owner -> Owner
         testdescription -> Test Step Action
Expected Result -> Test step expected result
Make sure Select Type is set to Manual Tests. You should then see one test with all the steps.
    Regards
    Wayne.
    p.s. Thanks Alex!!

  • Import full to test on SAME host

    Hi,
I have two databases(Real, Test), both reside on the SAME HOST
    Tablespaces: DATA_X on REAL -> Datafile: E:\REAL\RealDataX.dbf
    Tablespaces: DATA_X on TEST -> Datafile: E:\TEST\TESTDataX.dbf
Export from Real is being done with option Full Database.
How Can I import to instance Test the full previously exported database from Real? With the knowledge I have, I'm afraid to overwrite the Real Database.
    Can anyone help me, pls?
    info host: WK2,Oracle 8.1.7

    Ok, about the @SID.
but all the object already exist in there(Test).
(The purpose is, to store the Real data every night in Test via batch)
So, shouldn't the ignore option have the value Y(instead of N)?
And the destroy option stay as default(=N, otherwise my
    Real-datafiles would be overwritten)?

  • DTW importing activity for contact persons

    Hello All
    SAP B1 V 9.0 and DTW 900.52.1
I am trying to export data from one software and import into SAP Business one using the DTW.
I have imported my business partners as well as the contact persons associated with the business partners successfully using DTW OCRD and OCPR.
My next step is to export from previous software the activity associated with each contact person.
For example I have business partner C0001 and many contact persons under C0001. Business partner C0001- contact person Jane Doe, John Doe, John Smith etc.  What I am trying to accomplish is import activity to SAP B1 for each contact person (Jane Doe, John Doe, etc) using the DTW.  I cannot seem to figure out how to import the data so that it is associated with correct contact person for the appropriate business partner?  I can import the activity for the business partner but not for each contact person.
    Any advice greatly appreciated.
Can I create a query to obtain the CntcCode from OCLG when no activity has been created?

    Problem solved
I was trying to obtain the internal number associated with all OCLG Contact Person regardless if they had any activities.  I needed the information to migrate activities from and old system into SAP.  Selecting cntctcode from contact person will not generate the internal codes from OCLG and you will receive a data not found error.  Only the contact persons with activity would be produced.  I received some additional assistance and got the following query to work.
    select t1.cntctcode as CntctCodeFromOCPR,t1.name as ContactPersonFromOCPR,t0.cardcode,t0.cardname,t0.CntctPrsn from ocrd t0
    join ocpr t1 on  t0.cardcode=t1.cardcode

The DC asianpaints.com/sessapp which is a J2EE Application EAR is not getting used now.
The DC asianpaints.com/sessapp had EJB Module X which was later moved to another J2EE Application EAR. The class
    com/apl/erec/entity/channelpatner/ChannelPatnerLocalHome
is inside EJB Module X which is moved to another J2EE Application.
What can be the possible solution?
    Regards,
    Ameya

Check whether right applications are deployed and the ChannelPatner EJB is available on the server.
or else it can be mainly because the version of JDK with which you compiled your code and to the server you are trying to deploy is DIFFERENT!
Possibly you have built it in JDK 1.5 and trying to deploy in JDK 1.4.

  • SSAS Strange Performance Issues (Long running with NO read or write activity) - UAT Test Environment

    Hi All,
Im looking for some pointers, my team and I have drawn a blank as to what is going on here.
Our UAT is a virtual machine.
I have written a simple MDX query which on normal freshly processed cube executes in under 15 seconds, I can keep running the query.
    Run 1. 12 secs
    Run 2. 8 Secs
    Run 3. 8 Secs
    Run 4. 7 Secs
    Run 5. 8 Secs
    Run 6. 28 MINUTES!!
This is on our test environment, I am on the only user connected and there is no processing active.
Could anyone please offer some advice on where to look, or tips on what the issue may be.
    Regards,
    Andy

    Hi aown61,
According to your description, you get long time processing after executing processing several times. Right?
In this scenario, it's quite strange that a processing take long time. I suggest you using SQL Profiler to monitor the event during processing. It can track engine process events, such as the start of a batch or a transaction, you can replay the events captured
on the Analysis Services instance to see exactly what happened. For more information, please refer to link below:
Use SQL Server Profiler to Monitor Analysis Services
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Not able to see Standard ESS applications in imported Active DC's in NWDS

    Hi,
I have downloaded the files DI_CMS, DI_CBS and DI_DTR with version 7.02 SP3  and deployed using SDM. And started creating one track.
Now i am having one problem while creating track, in below step.
Check In and Import Required Software Components
In document they have given the process as mentioned below for this step.
Go to the directory where the archives (SAP_BUILDT.sca, SAP_JTECHS.sca, and SAPJEE.
    sca) are located. (<drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\CMS_CBS\plugins)
Copy the files to the relevant Transport directory <drive>:\usr\sap\JTrans\CMS\inbox.
The Transport directory is defined in the Landscape Configuratoru2019s u201CDomain Datau201D tab.
In this step i have strucked. When i see the path
    SAP_BUILDT.sca, SAP_JTECHS.sca, and SAPJEE.
    sca) are located. (<drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\global\CMS_CBS\plugins
I am not seeing any folder 'plugins' inside CMS_CBS folder. There is one folder in this 'cleanup'.
But with out doing above step, i am able to import the DC's Configuration in NWDS from NWDI. And here i want access the standard SAP ESS applications leave request. I need to modify the standard application. But it's not showing any standard applications when i check in imported DC's configuration in Active DC's in NWDS.
    Plz suggest.

  • Error importing/activating Configuration tpz files

    Hi All,
I am trying to import Configuration tpz files from one XI server to another. I have defined Transport Targets for all the Business Systems in the SLD also.
In Configuration, all the objects for a particular scenario are imported correctly from the tpz file, without any error. All these inactivated objects are grouped under a single change list called "XI 3.0 Import".
But while truing to activate this chage list, it gives error "Unable to activate <Receiver Determination> - Object <Receiver Communication Channel> does not exist".
I am also unable to activate any of the objects individually. It gives message "Unable to move object. Change lists were not part of the same import",
Any ideas on how to proceed?
    Regards,
    Puloma.

    Hi All,
    The problem is now solved.
We deleted the offending Receiver Determination objects from the Change List, and the rest of the change list was activated without any further errors. We now just have to re-create the Receiver dtermination objects.
    Theo,
The communication channels in the original configuration were assisgned to scenarios. Also, re-creation of new Communication Channels was useless, as the resp. Business Systems were inactived.
However, the problem is now almost solved, as we don't have to replicate the entire Configuration manually, just the Receiver Determination.
    Regards,
    Puloma.

  • Import Activity Code Values

I need to create a long list of activity code values. I'm looking for a work-around to avoid typing them in. There doesn't seem to be an option to import them, but when I import a file, activity codes are created. So maybe I accomplish this by importing codes via excel? Does anyone know how to make that work?

hi. you need the Primavera SDK component installed and "Dictionary xx" (a macro-enabled MSExcel file specific to your Primavera version schema) to read from/write to the database. best of luck,

  • Export Import to Maintain Test and Production Environments

We have developed an application using Locally built Database Providers in Oracle Portal 9.0.2.6 which is installed to 2 schemas, has 5 different providers, and over 100 Portal major components (Forms, Reports, and Calendars) and over 200 minor components (LOV's and Links). We have used export/import transport sets with some luck, but it is a struggle becuase the import procedures are not very robust. Many things (such as missing LOV's, corrupt components, preexisting versions, etc, etc.) can cause an import to fail. And the cleanup necessary to finally achieve a successful import can be very time-consuming.
Having a robust import mechanism is very important to our strategy for keeping installed (our own and clients') portal instances up-to-date with our latest release. Some of the enhancements that would make it much easier to develop and maintain Portal applications include:
    Within the Portal:
    1. Ability to copy an entire provider within the same portal (rather than one component at a time).
    2. Ability to change the schema to which a Provider is associated.
    3. When copying a component from one provider to another, the dependent items (i.e. LOVs and Links) should be copied to new second provider as well. (i.e. rather rebuilding each LOV in each provider and then editing each form to point to the new LOVs)
    Transport Sets:
    4. Should allow for changing provider names and provider schema, and global component name changes, and resetting unqiue id's on import (to create copy rather than overwrite).
    5. Should allow the option to ignore errors and import all components which pass pre-check (rather than failing all components if all items do not pass pre-check).
How are other Portal Developers dealing with installing and then rolling out new sets of Locally built Database Providers from Development environments to Production? Are there any whitepapers on the best practices for replicating/installing a portal application to a new portal instance and then keeping it updated?
Oracle, are any of my wish-list items above on the future enhancement lists? Or have others figured out workarounds?
    Thanks,
    Trenton

    Hi,
At first look the command syntax looks ok. Two things i'd suggest though:
    1) use a parfile - the query command with all the quotes and brackets will need lots of escape characters to make it work - it's far easier if you do it in a parfile
    2) do the query part on the extract - it should mean less work overall to do that.
Then just try it out and see if it works.

  • Import Active Directory Data into SAP HR

We are currently working on updating user data in Active directory from data stored in SAP HR via the LDAP Connector. This is working great! The question is what is required to make this happen the other way around. Ex  Employee email address is stored in AD and we want to update IT105 email address from Active directory.
    Thanks in Advance!

    Hello Tariq,
I am also trying to find out the way for flowing data from AD to SAP HCM IT0105.
If you found the solution, it would be a great help if you could pls share the solution.
    Hoping for the favorable response.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Error importing/activating objects into Directory

    Hi all,
I am trying to import Configuration tpz files from one XI server to another. I have defined Transport Targets for all the Business Systems in the SLD also.
All these inactivated objects are grouped under a single change list called "XI 3.0 Import".
But while truing to activate this chage list, it gives error "Unable to move object. Change lists were not part of the same import".
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Jose.

    Jose,
    What is your transport process.
In our project we follwo the follwoing steps:
    1. Export the design/configuration objects from IR/ID and create a .tpz file.
    2. Then using TELNET ,we phsically transport (get) those files into PRD under folder: /sapmnt/XIP/global/xi/repository_server/import
    from dev/QA folder:
    cd /sapmnt/XID/global/xi/repository_server/export
