Review Quiz - Audio plays again after reviewing

Hey,
I integrated an audio into my Quiz Result Slide. Its like "Here are your results. If you wanna see, what mistakes you did click on "Review" "
Problem is, when user is reviewing and the last question in the Quiz was shown it  automatically shows the Result slide and PLAYS THE AUDIO AGAIN!
How can I tell Captivate, 'Do not play this audio again. Stay mute.' or 'Jump to annother slide' ?
I tried to find the script for the Review-Button, but couldn't figure out.
Thanks for any help!
Martin

If this is the only audio, you could set the system variable cpCmndMute to 1 in the conditional action if the user variable has been toggled to 1. It will be a conditional advanced action, something like this:

  • Button rollover state plays again after click

Hello, I have made a portfolio in Flash 8 using Presentation
Screens. The intro and all the navigation buttons are on the first
parent screen. I have a rollover label animation on each button,
which plays fine on the first rollover, but also plays again after
a button click takes the user down to another screen. This seems to
be a glitch in the Screens feature, as my tests show that this is
not the case within a regular FLA document. Has anyone come across
    this??
You can see the buttons in action at:

    Thanks

I had a similar problem whereby I had built my own "frame" - complete with custom "minimize" and "close" roll-over buttons at the top right corner. The problem was that when you minimized the frame, then re-maximized it, the "minimize" button stayed in its "rolled-over" state, for the same reason yours does - the mouse never officially "leaves" the button.
My workaround, which may or may not help you, was to call the processMouseEvent() method of the Component class (which is a parent of AbstractButton), whenever the frame is minimized. This seems to do the trick.
Note that processMouseEvent() is a protected method, so I had to override it and make it public in a subclass, so I could go ahead and call it.
You could do the same thing, but you would need to decide what event you would use to trigger the call (i.e. my event was minimizing the frame - your event might be mouseOver for your overlapping frame?? Might get a bit messy.... ;-)
    Hope this helps!

  • Embedded vimeo video playing again after clicking "done".

On my personal website, and others I have visited, an embedded Vimeo video will play again from the from I last stopped at after clicking "done" to exit full screen mode. Have not being able to tell if this is an iOS 8 problem or a Vimeo problem. This is from within Safari and NOT the Vimeo app.
On mobile you can see the issue here: www.davidnitzsche.com
EDIT: After a test from a friends phone not running iOS 8 the issue was not present. This appears to be an iOS 8 issue.
    Thanks!

  • Firefox 5.01 will play QuickTime movie and audio clips once, but then will not be able to repeat the movie or audio clip again after it initially plays. This did not happen in earlier versions of Firefox before 5. Is there a fix?

I am on a Mac using system 10.6.

Thanks for your response. While this may work with audio and video originating from your own computer it doesn't seem to effect audio and video viewed from the Firefox 5.01 browser which uses a QuickTime plugin. Audio and Video viewed from Safari and Firefox 3.6.19 work fine which leads me to believe the QT plugin and Firefox 5 browser are not working correctly.

  • Often songs won't play again after pausing.

I have a black, 30GB video iPod I got back in October just a little bit after it came out. Up until about a little over a month ago, I had no problems with it. But lately, after I pause a song and turn off the iPod, and when I try to play it again, the song won't play! The "play" icon appears, but there is no progress. I can use all of the other functions, so it doesn't freeze, but the only way to fix it is to restart it, which I am doing most of the time now. According to other posts I've read, a lot of other people have had this problem. Does anybody have any information about this? Any way to fix it? Or does it need to be replaced? Any help at all would be appreciated!

I am having the same problem. What seems to happen randomly, then I wake my iPod it sometimes does not play. I have the time in the title and it reads 12:00AM when the problem occurs. If I return to the main menu and then enter a different playlist the list is empty! Almost as if the iPod is not reading the HD or something. This can happen a dozen times a day or not at all. They only way to get things working again is to reset the iPod. I tried resorting the iPod but the problem continued.
I made a visit to my local Apple Store and got my iPod replaced. I loaded all my content back (which includes music and video from all sources). To my dismay the problem continues. It is my conclusion that is not the iPod hardware (as I first thought). I am now thinking it may be some of the media on the iPod. When I get time I am going to restore the iPod and load it with only a few songs and no video (my music library is over 3,000 songs).
Try putting the time in the title and see if it reads 12:00AM when the problem occurs.
Although the iPod plays great (when it plays!) having to reset the iPod so often is annoying.

  • No audio playing - even after replacing sound card

i have a 1.33 17inch g4 powerbook. It shows the volume as being on and lists my audio in and out properly, but there is no sound, no startup chime, no alerts, nothing. I tried plugging in headphones to make sure it was not the speakers and they didnt work either. I figured this meant a dead sound card since the headphones plug directly into the card.
Now i have replaced the sound card and there is NO CHANGE in the sound behavior at all.
The system still shows I have audio in and out, but i cant hear anything through the speakers or through headphones.
    any ideas? thanks

I have also had this problem. I have inherited the computer from my uncle and the sound was not working from the day I received it. It came back temporarily yesterday but has disappeared again. Any ideas?

  • Why Can't I Get My Music to Play Again After an Update?

    Hi all
I downloaded the latest update on my iPod.  Afterwards I found my purchased music would no longer play.  They show up on my playlists, and under My Music on my iPod, but they will not play.  They just skip to the next song.  I tried resetting, but the same issue exists.  Does anyone know how I can fix this problem without losing any of my songs?  Any help is appreciated.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • How do I disable audio in the review Quiz?

    guys,
How do I disable or turn off or maybe change the audio in the review portion of the Quiz
I have 5 questions with Audio, after the 5 question has been aswered users have this option to "continue" or "review" quiz. When I click review quiz, it plays the same audio just like when you are taking the exam. I'd like to disable it once review button is pressed.. how do I do that>?
    Thanks
btw, Thanks TD for the tip in my previous querry..it worked.

    Hello,
Forgot to ask which version of Captivate you are using. There are a couple of actions you cannot choose when exiting a slide, but normally you can change the value of the system variable cpCmndMute all the time. I post a screenshot here, it is taken on CP5; you'll see that on the same slide I'm activating the sound on entering and muting on exiting.
I checked in CP4 too, and could realize the same:

  • How can i get my iphone to automatically play music after watching a video or something that requires audio

I Have a iphone 5 and was wondering if there is a way i can get my music to automatically play again after watching a video or something that requires audio

Is the jack not fitting into the top of the iPhone?
If so then you would need this adapter for it to fit properly.

  • Review Quiz

I created 26 questions in the question pool. The current project only has 4 slides as viewed on the filmstrip:
    First slide - Intro
Second slide - Random Question (linked to the Question Pool)
Third slide - Random Question (linked to the same Question Pool)
    Fourth slide - Quiz Results
Hitting F12 to view in browser, everything appears to work well. However, at the end (quiz results), I then click the "Review Quiz" button and it only reviews the last question. I would expect it to start at the first question and review all questions; in this case 2 questions.
I experimented with answering both questions incorrectly to see if it would jump to slide 2, in this case, when clicking Review Quiz. But still the same behavior which is reviewing only the last question slide.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Dan

I appreciate the quick reply. I watched a video on YouTube and realized that the problem was likely in the Quiz settings. I was doing a couple of things wrong but the primary item was not selecting "Submit All". Everything is working well now.

  • Captivate 5.5 Quiz results change after review

I've looked through the questions here and can't seem to find an answer/explanation for what I'm experiencing.
I've created a quiz (test) where the attempts per question are 1 failure levels set to "none" (this is acting as a final exam for a course so I want them to answer the question and move on).
When the quiz is completed I get the score and after clicking "review quiz" and going through the answers, the score changes.  It always drops.
So if I complete the quiz the first time and get a score of 96%, click "review quiz" and go through each question, when I get back to the score page the score has changed to 92% or 90% and that's what's being reported back to my LMS (Inquisiq) when the quiz is closed.  It seems to be reporting the correct item answers to the LMS but the overall score is being reported incorrectly.
    Reporting settings are:
    SCORM 2004
    Send tracking data at end
    Pass/Fail
    Report as a percent
    Quiz results only
    Interactions and score
    No backward movement allowed
    No skip button
    Only a submit button
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks Rod,
I don't have any custom widgets or playbars or swfs, it's all stock.  Just changed the quiz settings.
I tried Liliybiri's suggestion to remove the playbar controls. (Thank Lilybiri!) I also allowed backward movement but required answers to all questions.  This gave me the back and skip buttons I needed for the review.  I deleted all non-question slides so that the review is only navigating to/from question slides and this seems to be working.  I've tried it myself several times and have been unable to make it happen again.  I've got a couple other users testing as well.
Rod, I was also thinking that maybe this particular project had become corrupted and I should try a new one from scratch. I may test that tomorrow anyway to see if it's my quiz settings or a corrupted project.  I'll let you know how I make out.
Thanks to you both for your help with this today!

  • After Reviewing Quiz 1 time the Retake Quz button disappears

Does anyone have a solution to make the Retake Quiz button appear after one quiz review?

If you Review Quiz you do not get the option to Retake Quiz.  Captivate has taken the view (and I agree with it) that it would be cheating if a person could just Review a Quiz, find out all the right answers, and then Retake the Quiz to pass with those answers.
Once you Review Quiz, you need to relaunch the lesson to attempt the quiz again.

  • Returning later to Review Quiz Again - C6

    Greetings,
    Captivate 6 32 bit
    Adobe Connect Enterprise 6
I made a 25 question quiz, 24 of which are random; question number 1 is not random because my client wanted that question to appear for every learner. The pool is made up of 62 questions.
I published the test to Adobe Connect Enterprise 6. The quiz review worked fine while I was in the same session I took the quiz with. However, after closing the browser and exiting the session, I returned to review the quiz to confirm whether the review function worked or not. The "You are now in Review Mode. Any choices selected will not be tracked" reminder is at the top of the window, but my former quiz is not there. The first question is displayed unanswered as are the 24 others. Furthermore, the 24 radom slides have chosen new questions. It appears as if my quiz results have disappeared and now, I'm being given another randomized quiz (except for question 1) as a review. This is unacceptable, seeing how any enterprising person can simply take screen shots until the 62 question pool is captured and a complete answer key is shipped around to all members of the target audience.
Adobe Connect Enterprise does record the quiz results as expected and everything else is working well. I would like to have an explanation for why the review function is failing. My client took the quiz and the same thing happened to him when he went back to review his quiz.
Thank you in advance for your help.

So, I have the same thing playing with a delay... What is happening and how to fix it? Is there any other way to play theese kinds of files without using Flip4Mac WMV?

Use Flash Media Server to stream the files.......set up a timer and have all three of them play at once....and have a button switch the streams depending upon which stream you want to play.....and wallah......
you can also capture the stream.time from the video playing and resume from that point on the other videos as well....havent done this theoretically so I dont know how smooth the transistion between streams will be....but it can be done....
plus u may have to use double buffering techniques to make sure it starts up right away......

  • Retake button disappears after Reviewing Quiz

Long time lurker, first time poster...
I have a quiz template that I'm trying to finalize for my department using Cp 5.5 and the retake quiz button disappears if the user reviews the quiz.  Is this a settings issue or is it that a user cannot retake a quiz in Cp after reviewing the correct/incorrect answers?

    hi capSean
i have the same requirement (if learner fails and wants to review, learner should be able to review, then retake quiz) and here's my work-around: instruct learner that if he/she wants to review first, THEN retake, he/she must rewind the course to the beginning.  this clears out the answers.  on my (SumTotal) LMS settings, i have to allow infinite attempts.
    best of luck,
    theresa
