Captivate 5.5 Quiz results change after review

I've looked through the questions here and can't seem to find an answer/explanation for what I'm experiencing.
I've created a quiz (test) where the attempts per question are 1 failure levels set to "none" (this is acting as a final exam for a course so I want them to answer the question and move on).
When the quiz is completed I get the score and after clicking "review quiz" and going through the answers, the score changes.  It always drops.
So if I complete the quiz the first time and get a score of 96%, click "review quiz" and go through each question, when I get back to the score page the score has changed to 92% or 90% and that's what's being reported back to my LMS (Inquisiq) when the quiz is closed.  It seems to be reporting the correct item answers to the LMS but the overall score is being reported incorrectly.
Reporting settings are:
SCORM 2004
Send tracking data at end
Pass/Fail
Report as a percent
Quiz results only
Interactions and score
No backward movement allowed
No skip button
Only a submit button
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Thanks Rod,
I don't have any custom widgets or playbars or swfs, it's all stock.  Just changed the quiz settings.
I tried Liliybiri's suggestion to remove the playbar controls. (Thank Lilybiri!) I also allowed backward movement but required answers to all questions.  This gave me the back and skip buttons I needed for the review.  I deleted all non-question slides so that the review is only navigating to/from question slides and this seems to be working.  I've tried it myself several times and have been unable to make it happen again.  I've got a couple other users testing as well.
Rod, I was also thinking that maybe this particular project had become corrupted and I should try a new one from scratch. I may test that tomorrow anyway to see if it's my quiz settings or a corrupted project.  I'll let you know how I make out.
Thanks to you both for your help with this today!

  • Adobe Captivate 5.5 - Quiz Results

I am using Adobe Captivate 5.5 and have the latest updates installed.  I have an Internal Server configured for LMS and under the quiz reporting preferences I have "Percent" selected to report to the LMS, but when I launch the Quiz Results Analyzer and generate a report the "Percent" is not shown.  If I select "Score" under the quiz reporting preferences the Quiz Results Analyzer will display the score.
How can I review the "Percent" using the Quiz Results Analyzer?
    Thanks,

  • Captivate 5: Acrobat Quiz Results Not being Forwarded - Screen Freezes.

After completing the quiz, then pressing the POST button, I fill in the required two fields; but, the screens freezes or remains on the ...signing in status indefinitely.
I tried all the security settings for my pc and the acrobat website with no success.
I tried various Captivate settings and still no solution.
Is there something else I could try, I need to temporaily use Captivates' Score Result feature until the LMS is online.

  • Evaluation Path Results change after ECC6 Upgrade

    Hi All,
We have upgraded to ECC6 up to and including our QA environment. We are running an old java version of the MSS team viewer. We have a custom evaluation path, a modified version of SAP_MANG (Z_MANG) that we have been using for years. After upgrade any view that involves an organization is showing duplicates...
    Example of output
    Organization 1
    Person 1
    Person 2
    Organization 1
    Person 1
    Person 2
Our Z_MANG Evaluation Path looks like this...
No     Obj. Typ.     A/B     Relat     Relat Name      Priority     Relat Obj Typ     Skip
    10      *                 B         008       Holder              *               S                        X
    20      S                A         012       Manages...      *               O
    21      S                A         Z01      Salary Budg     *               *
    22      S                A         Z02      HR Manages    *               *
    30      US             A          208      Is Identical to    *               *                         X
Only when we skip No 21 Salary Budg is the problem resolved. Has anyone run into problems after upgrade to ECC60 that the results for an exting evaluation path have changed like this?
    Thanks,
    Doug

not all relationships represent physical data records in the database.  some are derived and without looking at the system, I believe the US 208 to P is a derived relationship.
Are you sure all the users you are testing with have a proper sy-uname setup for all respective pernrs in PA0105?

  • Captivate 5.5 Quiz Results Analyzer Showing All Answers As Skipped

We are running Captivate 5.5 and posting our results to an internal server.  The results post and show the correct number of quiz attempts and show that we either passed or failed but it shows all questions as skipped.  I found a patch for a .dll that supposedly by updating corrects this issue but we tried that and it did not work.  Does anyone have any thoughts on fixing this?  Basically at this point if we want to run this we HAVE to get this fixed or it is pretty useless.

I'm have the same exact problem except results are posted to Acrobat.com.  All questions are showing as skipped.  Can anyone with this?
    Thanks

  • Retake button disappears after Reviewing Quiz

Long time lurker, first time poster...
I have a quiz template that I'm trying to finalize for my department using Cp 5.5 and the retake quiz button disappears if the user reviews the quiz.  Is this a settings issue or is it that a user cannot retake a quiz in Cp after reviewing the correct/incorrect answers?
I have the quiz preferences set as follows:
    Reporting:
    Enable reporting is checked
    Standard (SCORM 2004)
    Report Status:
    Pass/Fail
    Report to LMS as:
    Score
    Choose Report Data:
    Quiz Results Only
    Reporting Level:
Interactions and Score (although this probably should be changed looking at the settings above)
    Settings:
    Quiz
    Name: Quiz Name
    Required: Pass Required
    Objective ID: (default)
    Interaction ID Prefix: (nothing entered)
    Settings:
    Shuffle answers (unchecked)
    Show Progress (checked)
    Allow Backward Movement (checked)
Show Score at the End of the Quiz (checked)
Allow User to Review the Quiz (checked)
    Pass or Fail:
    Pass/Fail Options:
100% or more of total points to pass
    If Passing Grade:
    Continue
    If Failing Grade:
    Infinite Attempts (checked)
    Show Retake Button (checked)

    hi capSean
i have the same requirement (if learner fails and wants to review, learner should be able to review, then retake quiz) and here's my work-around: instruct learner that if he/she wants to review first, THEN retake, he/she must rewind the course to the beginning.  this clears out the answers.  on my (SumTotal) LMS settings, i have to allow infinite attempts.
    best of luck,

  • How to send quiz results to a web page?

Okay, this should have taken 2 minutes, not 2 hours. Very frustrating. Here is the situation:
    * Downloaded Captivate 5 Trial Version
    * Created based quiz (which took forever to figure out how to set the correct answers -- HORRIBLE user interface for setup, but that is another issue)
    * I want the results sent to a web page. I will code the web page & database calls, etc. to handle the information (I am a web developer). Just need the information sent somewhere!
    Several big issues here:
    1. When setting up a URL for the "Pass or Fail", nothing happens. User not taken anywhere. No "Post Results" button shown. The Captivate file just ends and that's it. ??
    2. Finally figured out that I needed the "Internal Server" option chosen to have a Post Results button shown. Okay.
So when I click Post Results (after answering the 5 questions correctly), I am shown a login box. Why? What is this for? This is not needed. I am going to an INTERNAL SERVER. It is none of Adobe's business what this person's name/email is. What gives? Okay... anyways, I enter my own Adobe login information. It then says "Connecting..." then I get a Status Message that says "Unknown Error". Keep in mind this will be used by a general audience, of which approximately 99.9% will not have an Adobe ID, nor should they need one.
How I can easily have the Captivate file redirect the user to pages like this: Confirm.aspx?pass=yes or Confirm.aspx?pass=no.
I don't need anything fancy. But I do need something that works. This is terribly frustrating and I'm about to say it just doesn't work. Please tell me I am wrong.
Thank for your time and for reading this.
    -Randy

The Quiz Results slide's Continue button actions are set under Quiz Preferences > Pass or Fail > If Passing Grade etc. By default, the Continue button is set to just continue on to the next slide after the Quiz Results.
After the user clicks the Continue button on the Quiz Results slide any Pass/Fail actions you've set up there will be evaluated and executed.
So if the user achieved a passing score, and you set up an action such as Go to URL in Current Window for that case, then the user should find themselves redirected to that URL.  If there was a different action for Failure, and the user failed, then that should happen.  But either of these will only happen after the Continue button is clicked.
I tested this by setting www.google.com as the go to URL and it worked.  To see if the URL is the issue, try using another URL that you know everyone can get to.  If that works, try to find out why the URL you want to use is not working.  If no URL works, something else is interfering with the action.

  • Adobe Captivate 6 problem with Review area text on Quiz results page

    Hi,
I am using Adobe Captivate 6 and I have a test at the end of my project with the built in 'Quiz results page' at the end.
However, the standard 'review area' provided always seems to play up for me. I have changed the 'quiz results messages' through the preferences and changed the font of the review area, but everytime I play my project the message displayed is in a different font that I did not set and the size is so large that the sentence goes off the screen. It has done this on numerous projects.
I have changed the font of the review area and it shows up on my normal view, but everytime I preview the project or publish it, the font changes back to a strange default.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
    Thank you.

    Hannah,
That is a very well-known bug in the last Captivate versions... if you screen these forums you'll find multiple threads complaining about it. Some fonts will work, I think Calibri works (not all styles however) and all the other fonts revert to Times New Roman. I'm a bit puzzled that you call it a 'strange default'.

  • Captivate 8 Unknown Error returned after post of quiz results

I am posting quiz results to an Internal Server using the InternalServerReporting.php script.  The entry gets written to the server but a result of "Unknown Error" is returned to the student.  I have the captivate HTML file at the root (C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/).  I have tried suppressing the Popup window for Student Name and Student ID by entering values in the cpQuizInfoStudentID and cpQuizInfoStudentName variables but I still get a return popup window with the "Unknown Error"

yes, PHP is setup and it works. As I mentioned, I'm able to use the Quiz Results Analyzer to pull quiz results just fine from the internalserverread.php file, even though the users get an "unknown error" message.
So we do run a Windows domain based on a Windows Server 2008 domain controller; strangely, when I'm logged in to a workstation and take the quiz, I don't get the "unknown error". It only seems to happen to other users, which points to a permissions problem but all of the permissions are clearly set on the PHP files to allow read/write for all domain users. I even created a dummy account replicating all of my profiles memberships/permissions and it didn't work on that one. Besides, if it really was a permissions issue, why would Captivate allow those people to post their results to the internalServerReporting.php at all? As it is, despite the "unknown error" message, they post their results just fine.

  • Can I reconfigure Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer (ACQRA) ?

    Hello,
I working on capturing all the Quiz results onto a MySQL Database using WAMP. No problem getting the data into the Database using the internalserverreporting.php after some modifications.
Still having some trouble reverse engineering  the interserverread.php. While experimenting with some modifications, I received some help on how to clear the application of past Quiz data so that I can see what happens with my changes. Now I realized that the Application is programmed to expect XML files and store the results in a special location.
    QUESTION 1:
Can I reconfigure the Application to stop looking for XML files and configure it to point to my database?
    QUESTION 2:
Can I get my hands on the code that was used to create ACQRA for my standalone application?

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
Do you have 26 different projects ?
Which version of Captivate are you using ?
Do you have MAC or Windows ?
Any Error message while generating results for those 5 courses ?
    Thanks,
    Vikram

  • Captivate 4 - Quiz Results Issue

Hello.  I have created a quiz using Captivate 4.  At the end of the quiz I have used a variable to report the score.  I used...$$cpInfoPercentage$$
In some situations the percentage appears greater than 100% when the user has made more than one error.  I thought it might have something to do with matching questions where the user gets one portion of the question correct but not the entire question.  I have been unable to recreate this situation but several users have reported it to me.
Any ideas what might be causing these skewed scores?
I appreciate any help that can be provided.
    Thanks!
    kj

That is what causing your problem. 30 seconds is much too long, unless you have an audio clip that has to play that long and is attached to the slide.
Keep the default duration of 3 seconds, please. The slide will automatically pause at 1.5secs and submit process takes two steps. Only after the second step the playhead will continue after 1.5seconds if you have left the actions On Success/After Last Attempt to Continue. Or it will do another action if you changed them.
    Have a look at:
    http://blog.lilybiri.com/question-question-slides-in-captivate
And I suspect you have a lot of slides that have a long duration. This is only increasing your filesize without any valid reason. Each second is 30 frames.
    Lilybiri
Next button is superfluous during Quiz, only useful when reviewing. You have to read my blog post, please.

  • How do i prevent a slide that is after the quiz results page from showing?

HI guys, I am trying to achieve the following in Captivate 6:
    1) Users answer questions. They have 2 attempts to pass with 70% or above.
    2) At the quiz results page, if the score is less than 70%, users get a button to retake the quiz. After the second attempt, If the percent is 70% or above, they can click a button to view a certificate or click a button to see a transcript. If the percent is less than 70%, they click a button to get a transcript but NOT a certificate.
How can i accomplish this since i cannot add buttons to the quiz results page.

    Thanks for the feedback.
I am trying to implement a simple hide/show routine and it does not work. This is what I want.
I have two buttons (one to save a certifcate and one to save a course transcript).  I want to display those on the quiz results screen. The user has two chances to make a 70% or more on the quiz.
If the user obtains less than 70% score on the first try, on the quiz results slide I want to hide the button to save the certificate but keep the one for the transcript. If the user passes with 70 or more, then both icons remain on screen.
IF the user obtains less than 70% after the second try, the quiz results should only show the transcript button. If they pass with 70% or more, then both icons remain on screen.
I tried advance interactions to hide or show the icons in the "on slide enter" on the quiz results screen but that did not work.
This is an example of what i tried. if cpQuizInfoQuizPassPercent is less than 70% hide btncert. I also tried hiding the button and then assigning actions to show the button on passing the 70% but that did not work either.
    Suggestions?

  • Quiz Results Page - Review Button Action

    Greetings All,
Does anybody know if there is a way to access the variables/actions that are associated with the retake/review buttons on the quiz review page?
For example, I would love to be able to do something like this: assign cpCmndReviewQuiz 1. That would lock-in the last answers selected on the quiz and navigate back to the first quiz question.  This is the same behavior as the quiz review button on the Captivate-generated review page.
Alternatively, I would like to know if there is a way to lock the quiz so the last set of responses are frozen.
Oh, BTW - captivate 6.. Thanks

    Hi Lilybiri,
I would like to develop a 'custom' quiz review screen.  Unfortunately, there are very limited options as to what you can add to the 'stock' review page. For example, you can neither add a button, nor change the behavior of the buttons that are generated with that page. It would be nice if I could add a 'print certificate' button when the learner passes the exam.
When developing my own 'custom' review page, I ran into some interesting behavior.
I setup a quiz and allowed the learner 3 attempts to pass the quiz:
Using the 'stock' review page: If the learner passes the quiz in under 3 attempts, then clicks the review button, the learner is returned to the first quiz question, and they can review their responses to each quiz question.  Their responses are locked, and cannot be changed.
Using my 'custom' review page: I placed 'review' button on the final slide of the course. The button simply shows the navigation bar, unlocks TOC, then returns the learner to the first quiz question.  If the learner passes the quiz in under 3 attempts, then clicks this 'custom' review button, they are taken back to the first quiz question.  The only problem is that the learner's responses aren't indicated, like when you press the 'stock' review button.  The quiz and all of the responses are reset.
Anyway, it would be nice to know if there is a way to mimic the behavior of the 'stock' review button, but it doesn't sound like it's possible.
Thanks - hope my post makes some sense...

  • Review Quiz - Audio plays again after reviewing

    Hey,
I integrated an audio into my Quiz Result Slide. Its like "Here are your results. If you wanna see, what mistakes you did click on "Review" "
Problem is, when user is reviewing and the last question in the Quiz was shown it  automatically shows the Result slide and PLAYS THE AUDIO AGAIN!
How can I tell Captivate, 'Do not play this audio again. Stay mute.' or 'Jump to annother slide' ?
I tried to find the script for the Review-Button, but couldn't figure out.
    Thanks for any help!
    Martin

If this is the only audio, you could set the system variable cpCmndMute to 1 in the conditional action if the user variable has been toggled to 1. It will be a conditional advanced action, something like this:

  • After Reviewing Quiz 1 time the Retake Quz button disappears

Does anyone have a solution to make the Retake Quiz button appear after one quiz review?

If you Review Quiz you do not get the option to Retake Quiz.  Captivate has taken the view (and I agree with it) that it would be cheating if a person could just Review a Quiz, find out all the right answers, and then Retake the Quiz to pass with those answers.
Once you Review Quiz, you need to relaunch the lesson to attempt the quiz again.
