RFC call error with no exception associated.
I'm remotelly calling FM L_TO_CREATE_SINGLE. When the ubication is locked up the FM produces an error which results in lose of contact with the remote system or something like that. What I get is a dump with CALL_FUNCTION_RECEIVE_ERROR.
I've looked at ST22 and there is not associated exception, so I can't catch it.
How can I avoid the dump?
Thanks in advance.
Are you using the communications and system failure exceptions when calling the RFC?
data: lv_message type char255.
example:
CALL FUNCTION 'RFC_XXXXX'
destination 'YYYY'
exceptions
system_failure = 1 message lv_message.
communication_failure = 2 message lv_message
A short dump (or any other kind of error for that matter) will be stored in the variable lv_message.
Kind regards,
Micky.

Hi All,
I am getting error while executing oDATA service from SAP Netweaver Gateway
Error details:
RFC call ended with "Communication Failure" exception (Function call failed; could not find the function
I am using SAP NG 740
Project is created in Gateway system using SEGW having Map to Datasource option used.
in SPRO manage alias, I had seleted Local App option. Screen attached
I had tried all troubleshooting like delete and add service and alias in "/IWFND_MAINT_SERVICE".
but still getting same error for all service.
Kindly advise.

VivekHello Vivek,
Service builder would have also generated code for RFC Exception handling to catch exceptions raised when communication fails between your GW and BE for some reasons.
Handling is done for 1. System Failure 2. Communication Failure & 3. Business Failure;
Put a BP in your DPC or DP_EXT class where exception code is written to check what exactly is has caused communication failure.
Check if that RFC is existing in that destination or not.
For your reference : Code would be something like this. Put BP here and check the problem.
* Error and exception handling
IF lv_subrc <> 0.
* Execute the RFC exception handling process
me->/iwbep/if_sb_dpc_comm_services~rfc_exception_handling(
EXPORTING
iv_subrc = lv_subrc
iv_exp_message_text = lv_exc_msg ).
ENDIF.
Go inside this method and check to get info on what has to be done to resolve issue.
Check carefully what has gone wrong and fix it accordingly.
No need of adding service & deleting as problem is not because of that.

Today, I received this error when I re-added two email accounts that are tied in to my domain. The error is: "Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'MFSQLiteException', reason: 'inserting mailbox url' abort() called terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException"
Two days ago, at my wits end with email issues, I googled how to Reset Mail.app and followed the recommendation found here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2266399?tstart=0
That's. all. I've. done.
What should I do correct the error I'm receiving when adding my email accounts?Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if iTunes crashed, you would enter "iTunes" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful. -
RFC Call error..
Hi All XI Expert,
I am facing an issue with regard to RFC call from an external system.Business flow is like, Purachase Requisition(PR) is created from Ariba system/application which is passed to SAP via TIBCO Adapter to create Purchase order(PO).As per my understanding the data flow is like this: Ariba PR data's are captured by Ariba Adater and are send to TIBCO ADAPTER.This TIBCO adapter will invoke request-response service from SAP Adapter for operation of SAP RFC calling.Now i am able to successfully create PR/PO from Ariba application with amount(more than $10mn with after decimal value as 00) say $12,000,000.00 / $15,000,000.00. But while creating PR/PO from Ariba application with amount (more than $10mn with after decimal value as other than 00 i.e .99, .78, .05 etc) say $12,000,000.99 / $15,000,000.08, it gives below error which are captured in Ariba side, hence unable to create PR/PO's more than $10mn, however for less than $10mn amount of PR/PO with after decimal value as other than 00 i.e .99, .78, .05 etc, it is successfully getting created.So the problem is amount with more than $10mn PO with after decimal value as other than 00 i.e .99, .78, .05 etc.
Error found in Ariba side for above scenarion:
" Thu Apr 09 12:21:49 EDT 2009 (integrationExternal:error:4745): Received a Tibco generated message: 2009 Apr 9 12:21:49:079 GMT -5 SAPAdapter.SAInboundRFC.psap1 Error Application AER3-000185 CallReceive failed for operation Z_ARIBA_PO_PUSH; exception : Unable to interpret 1.10000005E7 as a number., RFC error; Group/Key/Message: 104/CONVT_NO_NUMBER/Unable to interpret 1.10000005E7 as a number.
Where could be the problem?Does it a TIBCO Adapter config/ SAP adapter Problem / SAP RFC code issue?
FYI....SAP RFC that is getting called doesnot contain any code of "CONVT_NO_NUMBER" .
Awaiting your reply guysThe problem is that in case the value of the amount is greater than $10mn, then it is converting the numeric value into exponential number 1.10000005E7. This is a number but when RFC tries to treat it as a number, it is throwing the exception. At sender Ariba system, you may change some configuration to avoid changing of numeric field to exponential field and problem would get resolved.

Synch. RFC call error - No Sender Found
Hi,
once execute the synchronous RFC call from BPM, rfc response message returns as following;
<SAP:Code area="RCVR_DETERMINATION">MESSAGE_INCOMPLETE</SAP:Code>
<SAP:Stack>Message is incomplete. No Sender found</SAP:Stack>
i've tried adding header mappings at receiver aggreement for bpm's name as sender service and target sap system name as receiver service. Same error.
Any help is greatly appreciated. ThanksHi,
>>>>i've tried adding header mappings at receiver aggreement for bpm's name as sender service and target sap system name as receiver service. Same error.
no need for any header mapping in that case
just configure the routing correctly - via directory wizard
and everything will work

Query erroring with OutOfMemory exception
Hi,
When I run this query:
SELECT VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.COSTLEDGERVOUCHER, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.ITEMID, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.INVENTTRANSID,VENDPACKINGSLIPJOUR.PURCHID, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.NAME, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.QTY
FROM VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS INNER JOIN
VENDPACKINGSLIPJOUR ON VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.PACKINGSLIPID = VENDPACKINGSLIPJOUR.PACKINGSLIPID
WHERE (VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.DATAAREAID = 'agl')
it returns the results in about 12 seconds.
This one however runs for about 12 minutes before crashing.
SELECT VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.COSTLEDGERVOUCHER, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.ITEMID, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.INVENTTRANSID,VENDPACKINGSLIPJOUR.PURCHID, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.NAME, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.QTY
FROM VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS INNER JOIN
VENDPACKINGSLIPJOUR ON VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.PACKINGSLIPID = VENDPACKINGSLIPJOUR.PACKINGSLIPID
WHERE (VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.DATAAREAID = 'agp')
As it runs I can see that file C:\Users\carronp\AppData\Local\Temp\2\tmp55B3.tmp grows to over 4GB.
When it crashes it throws the following error:
An error occurred while executing batch. Error message is: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.
My The data file of my database is on D:\ and the log file is on L:\ so I can't see why C:\ would be getting filled.
Has anybody seen an issue like this before?
Cheers
PaulPaul
What if you create a procedure that accepts parameters , for example
CREATE PROCEDURE sp1
@Par VARCHAR(5)
AS
SELECT VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.COSTLEDGERVOUCHER, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.ITEMID, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.INVENTTRANSID,VENDPACKINGSLIPJOUR.PURCHID, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.NAME, VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.QTY
FROM VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS INNER JOIN
VENDPACKINGSLIPJOUR ON VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.PACKINGSLIPID = VENDPACKINGSLIPJOUR.PACKINGSLIPID
WHERE (VENDPACKINGSLIPTRANS.DATAAREAID = @Par)
EXEC sp1 @Par='agp'
EXEC sp1 @Par='agl'

Yep, the appserver got hold of a usable connection but the connection was closed before the appserver had finished/committed with it. It could be that the connection was closed by the database or some firewall timeout setting.
A good start is to investigate options of configuring your appserver's connection eviction policies including forcing a validation SQL to be executed when a connection is acquired. Make sure that such a query doesn't impact on performance and have some performance and integration testing before rolling out.i found that if i close the computer which causes this issue, hence other dev computers can deploy normally.
"deploy" here i mean deploy to a running instance on each dev's machine.
From this, i would guess the common database server itself rejects connection from clients.
I will try to investigate more if i am missing something.
And here i found a link that possibly a first good attempt:
[http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/m/505809/]
EclipseLink automatically recovers from communication failures, but there is little we can do to diagnose the failure. We basically execute a query and have to wait for the JDBC driver, or DataSource's response, if it hangs for 10minutes, then we are waiting. You could set the JDBC timeout hint on your query, but whether the JDBC driver honors this is up to the driver. You should see the SQLException in your logs, provided your log level is warning or lower.
If you cannot fix your firewall, they you could change your connection pool settings to use a min number of connections of 0, so there will never be idle connections. But then you will be reconnecting a lot.
You could also use a third party connection pool or DataSource that supports a timeout setting on the pooled connections, or spawn a thread in your application the clears the connection pool every 30minutes.regards,

RFC Call Error - from Portal End - For ESS Personal Information service
Hi,
I am getting "Syntax error in program SAPLHRXSS_PER_MAC ., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE " error Message on the portal (ESS--->Personal Information Screen).
When I did RFC trace analysis (using ST 22) this is what i get.
Can you let me know what could be the issue.
We are running HR Backend(Support Pack 15,ecc 5.0).
Portal (EP 6.0 SP19, ESS 100 (SP 10)).
Could you please let me know what could be the issue ?
Syntax error in program "SAPLHRXSS_PER_MAC ".
What happened?
Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "SAPMSSY1" had to be terminated because one of the
statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
In program "SAPLHRXSS_PER_MAC ", the following syntax error occurred
in the Include "IF_HRPA_PERNR_INFTY_XSS=======IU " in line 114:
"The type "HRXSS_PER_SUPPLD_SUBTY_INFO_T" is unknown."
Author and last person to change the Include are:
Author "SAP "
Last changed by "C5069405 "
What can you do?
Please eliminate the error by performing a syntax check
(or an extended program check) on the program "SAPLHRXSS_PER_MAC ".
You can also perform the syntax check from the ABAP/4 Editor.
If the problem persists, proceed as follows:
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.
Error analysis
In program "SAPLHRXSS_PER_MAC ", the following syntax error occurred:
"The type "HRXSS_PER_SUPPLD_SUBTY_INFO_T" is unknown."
How to correct the error
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
Save->Local File (unconverted)".
2. A suitable printout of the system log
To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
"System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.

Dear Sirs,
during loading of master data from a 4.6C SAP system to BI 7.0 SP9 I get the following error during processing (data packet).
<i>"An RFC call-up triggered the exception (ID: RSAR NO: 503) "</i>
The strange thing with this error is that it emerged today, after successfully loading master data and a subset of transaction data yesterday from same source system.
Has anyone else come across this error, and can tell us where we should look for a possible solution? (or a better error explaination).
The RFC connections works fine when testing in SM59, and was functioning yesterday. No relevant dumps in either system.Hi folks,
I am also interested in this error.
Thanks. -
Handle timeout exception in rfc call
Dear SAP Experts,
I have been searching for a while and could not find a satisfactory answer to my problem.
I use SAP - CRM and call other SAP and non-SAP systems via RFC.
I need to handle all exceptions, otherwise WEB UI displays a full page exception details, which is unacceptable on a production system.
I have the following piece of code:
CALL FUNCTION FUNCTION_NAME DESTINATION DEST
EXPORTING
S_IMPORT = INPUT_DATA
IMPORTING
S_EXPORT = OUTPUT_DATA
EXCEPTIONS
SYSTEM_FAILURE = 1 MESSAGE err_msg " catch system failure
COMMUNICATION_FAILURE = 2 MESSAGE err_msg " catch communication errors
OTHERS = 99. " catch everything else
It handles most of exceptions, however, it cannot process timeouts. Is there a way to handle timeout in ABAP RFC call? Is timeout exception uncatchable? If so is there a way around?
Can you please suggest some solution as I am running out of ideas.
Regards,
DominikI have found a solution. To approach this I use asynchronous function call.
TRY.
CALL FUNCTION ZZ_TEST_TIMEOUT' DESTINATION lv_dest STARTING NEW TASK 'TIMEOUT_TASK'
CALLING me->callback ON END OF TASK
EXCEPTIONS
SYSTEM_FAILURE = 1 MESSAGE err_msg " catch system failure
COMMUNICATION_FAILURE = 2 MESSAGE err_msg " catch communication errors
OTHERS = 99. " catch everything else
WAIT UNTIL READY EQ 'X' UP TO 55 SECONDS.
IF READY NE 'X'.
RAISE EXCEPTION TYPE CX_TIMEOUT.
ELSE.
WRITE / 'success'.
ENDIF.
CATCH CX_ROOT INTO OREF.
WRITE / 'TIMEOUT EXCEPTION'.
ENDTRY.
callback sets variable READY to abap_true when data is received.
The trick is to use UP TO 55 SECONDS. after wait, which is shorter than the server timeout. This terminates function call and gives opportunity to code your own timeout behavior. -
hi guys,
our company has SAP servers in location A which often communicates with servers in location B. recently we moved both DEV and PRD servers to location C from A. the servers from B and C communicates via a VPN link.sequel to this movement we changed the IP configuration of all the systems. presently users in location B can access the PRD server in C but are not able to access the DEV server.
the following error messages appears:
ON PRD
TMS Alert viewer
transport control program tp ended with error code 0212
error:could not access file as supposed
command:SHOWBUFFER PRD PF=
SAPDEV\sapmnt\trans\bin\TP_DOM
while on DEV
message:RFC-communication failure
RFC communication error with system/destination
partner not reached
would appreciate if u culd profer a solution as soon as possible
Regards walataHi Walat,
User access problem :-
You located at location B are not able to access server DEV which is located C
Pls take help from your system administrator for doing below task if you are not aware about output
From location B try to telnet server DEV on port 32<NN> or 36<NN> ( <NN> is your instance no of DEV )
for e.g
from command prompt run the following command
telnet < dev server ip > 32<NN>
check the ouput
How to check the ouput
1 after giving the above command, if you get blank screen it mean ports are open
2 after giving the above command, if you get ouput on screen like " conneting to server < dev server ip > it mean ports are not open
If the ports are not open then inform you network team that port mention aboev should be open for users.
once the ports get open check above step again , if you get the blank screen , then you wil be able to login to SAP
Server to Server Access problem :-
From server DEV to PRD and vice versa check whether you can share the drives .
if yous system team that yor PRD system should be able to to access the share folder sapmnt of server DEV ( SAPDEV )
As well as check server to server port 33<NN> is open or not
Any query pls reply.
Thanks

Is PopLocalFrame() safe with pending exception?
The Sun Java Series "The Java Native Interface" by Sheng Liang states toward the end of section 5.3: "The Push/PopLocalFrame functions are especially convenient... The Push/PopLocalFrame functions are efficient. You are strongly encouraged to use them." Later in section 6.2.2, Handling Exceptions, it states that "Generally speaking, when there is a pending exception you can call the JNI functions that are designed to handle exceptions and the JNI functions that release various virtual machine resources exposed through the JNI." This would lead me to expect that PopLocalFrame() can be called safely with an exception pending. Yet section 11.8.2 provides a "complete list of JNI functions that can be called safely when there is a pending exception", and PopLocalFrame() is not in that list.
I am not strongly encouraged to use Push/PopLocalFrame() without a clear guarantee that I can call PopLocalFrame() safely with a pending exception as expected. Is this just an oversight in the documentation?Kaspersky 2012 and 2013 is fully compatible with Firefox 15, if you still facing any issue, please contact kaspersky support about it so that they will fix it via patvh through database update.:)
good luck
