RFC Destination of TCP/IP type :: Using Explicit Host Option

Hi
We need to call the executable file in an External non-sap system.
We created the RFC detination for this & follow below steps -->
*) Create RFC Destination of type TCP/IP
*) Select option " <i>Start Explicit Host</i> "
*) In Program parameter provide the path & name of the executable file e.g c:\windows\notepad.exe
*) In Target Host providing the name of non-sap system.
But while using Test Connection we are getting following error -->
<b>ERROR timeout during allocate
LOCATION SAP-Gateway on host clxstst02 / sapgw00

Pls. suggest what needs to be done.

Hello Lalit,
Even though DNS is used you may have to have entires in host file.
Suppose the SAP server is A and the PC is B.
The the hostname/IP address for B should be maintained in A and vice versa should also happen.
Also check if you are able to ping the PC from the SAP servers and vice versa.
Regards.
Ruchit.

  • RFC Destination from CE is unwantedly using SSO

    Hi,
Our developers are testing some services from Service Browser in CE 7.11 system. They are using the RFC Destination SAP_ECC which we have created from NWA --> Configuration Management --> Security --> Destinations.
In this RFC, we have given the details of the backend ECC system and also selected the user type as "Technical User" and provided a user/password. Pinging the destination from here works just fine.
But, when one of our services from Service Browser calls this destination SAP_ECC to access the backend system, then the call is not connecting to the backend using the technical user supplied in the destination, but is trying to use SSO. Thus the user being passed is not the technical user but the user of the developer who is calling the service. The error message says:
This system rejects all logons using SSO tickets
We do not have any intention of using SSO here.
Can someone suggest how to figure out why SSO is coming into picture and what can we do to elimincate this issue?
    Thanks,
    Shitij

Have you set up a wildcard DNS entry for the spapps.com domain?
Also if you're trying to connect from the server you might be hitting loop back check issues.

  • RFC - XI - WEBSERVICES scenario - Where to create RFC Destination

    Hi  Experts
For my RFC - XI - WEBSERVICES scenario, I have to create one TCP/IP RFC destination on R/3 system with the following details

My Function Module (Remote-Enabled) - u201CZZZZu201D is defined in R/3 System.
This Function Module should be communicated with the target system i.e. NW XI system
As per the Note from SAP Help: To be able to communicate using RFC, you need to define the target systems as RFC destinations in the sending system(R/3)

  • How to delete RFC destination during runtime

    Hi Experts,
I need to delete the RFC destination (created via SM59) during runtime. Which API can I use to do so?
    Thanks & Best Regards, Johnney.

Do delete different type of RFC destination at runtime , you can use these FM on the basis of its type:
    1. To Read Type of RFC Destination use
                    RFC_READ_DESTINATION_TYPE
    2. To Delete RFC Destination
                   RFC_MODIFY_ARFC_PARAMETERS
                   RFC_MODIFY_HTTP_DEST_TO_EXT
                   RFC_MODIFY_HTTP_DEST_TO_R3
                   RFC_MODIFY_L_DESTINATION                - Read Documentation
                   RFC_MODIFY_R3_DESTINATION             - Read Documentation
                   RFC_MODIFY_TCPIP_DESTINATION        - Read Documentation

  • Monitor RFC Destinations

    Hi guys,
Couldn't find a way simply monitor RFC destinations with CCMS monitor. Specifically, I've RFC destination type T (http)
can't find a way to monitor it.
    Please advice,
    Dimitry

    Hi
Availability can be implemented using the RFC availability check for specific RFC destinations.
Monitoring of specific and critical RFC destinations can be done by using the standard CCMS MTE
            class CCMS_RFCDest_Availability_Col
Using the methods described above, alerts can be generated in the CCMS monitoring transactions
As specified above note 1069130 will help you in achieving it.
    Thanks

  • Unable to change RFC destination in IT Performance reporting wizard

    Hi Experts,
I am setting up IT Performance Reporting in my Solman EHP1 system. In the first page of the PErformance reporting wizard, it asked me for RFC destination from BI to Solman(1st field) and Solman to BI (2nd field). I initially entered an existing RFC destination that we are already using in a separate application that has a user with very-limited authorization. Now, I am trying to change the RFC destination by running the same "Configure IT Performance Reporting" wizard but both fields are already GREYED out.
I tried deleting the RFC destination previously defined in an attempt to reenable the fields but only the 2nd field was enabled. When I try to continue the setup, it results into a Shortdump because it is still looking for the initially defined RFC dest which is defined in the 1st field that cannot be edited.
SAP has not yet provided us with a solution.Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

You canprovide the RFC destination in DOE administration portal. Goto Configurations link and search for "BACKEND DESTINATION" parameter in "BACKEND CONFIGURATION" link. Here you can provide RFC destination at SWCV level or at Data object level.
After deleting RFC destination in SM59, it will never take you to backend system.

  • Transaction IDX1: Port SAPPRD, client , RFC destination contain errors

    Hi all,
when I send an IDOC from Xi to R/3 I get the following message in XI monitoring:
Transaction IDX1: Port SAPPRD, client , RFC destination contain errors
    ERROR= 2:IDOC_ADAPTER(151)
However everything is maintained correctly (i think) in IDX1. I can upload the IDOC metadata with IDX2 from the R/3 system.
I seems that Xi doesn't have the clientnumber available. (should be 600) but is not mentioned in the error.
    Did I miss something?

  • RFC Destinations for different clients on same host

    Hi
I have an SRM and SUS on the same server and the clients are different. I have a flow from SRM to SUS and also back from SUS from SRM.
Do I have to create seperate RFC Destinations for different clients?
What about the other details likePort, Partner Profile, Logical system etc, do we have to maintain all for both of them seperately ?
    Regards
    Ajith

    Hi Ajith,
Do I have to create seperate RFC Destinations for different clients?
    >>> A set of RFC Destination, Port & Parnter Profile is used to connect two systems between one client of source system to one client of Target system. Eg. from clinet 100 of XXX system to clinet 100 of YYY system. So, you need to take this into account and create seperate RFC destination for each different pair of connections.
What about the other details likePort, Partner Profile, Logical system etc, do we have to maintain all for both of them seperately ?
    >>>In PI, you need to create BS for each different client of SRM & SUS system.
    I hope this helps.

  • Steps to create  rfc destination

    hi,
what are the steps to create rfc destination

    Follow the following steps :
    1. Create RFC destination for both the systems on CRM and R/3 in SM59.
    2. Create the logical systems and assign clients to logical system in SALE transaction both on CRM and R/3.
    3. Create a user in the R/3 table CRMCONSUM with the name CRM.
    4. Maintain the Middlware Parameter tables on CRM : Table SMOFPARSFA:
Create an entry for following parameter entry:
    Key - R3A_COMMON
    Para name - CRM_DEFAULT_DESTINATION
    Value - R/3 logical system
    5. Maintain the parameter tables on R/3 system : CRMRFCPAR, CRMPAROLTP
    CRMRFCPAR :
Create new entry with following data:
    User - CRM
    Object name - *
RFC Destination - RFC destination for CRM
Load types - All Load Types
    In Queue flag - X
    Send XML – No XML
    CRMPAROLTP :
    Create the following parameter entry:
    Para name - CRM_DEFAULT_DESTINATION
    User - CRM
Value - Name of the CRM logical system
    6. Create Sites and attach subscriptions in Admin Console : Tcode SMOEAC
Create a Site as CRM and another as R/3. Attach the required subscriptions to the R/3 site.
    7. Register the queues in SMQR and SMQS transactions.
PS : For detailed steps refer the Middlware Base Customizings(CR500 and CR100)
