RFC Destination SAPHTTP Inaccessible from Archivelink

Hi,
I am working on a project to implement Archivelink in our SAP ECC 5.0 system. Our plan is to allow users to store documents in a content server which are linked to a GL account document in SAP. We have done the configuration successfully in a test system. However, it takes about 30 seconds to store the first document. Subsequent documents are stored in just a few seconds. During the delay we receive Message "Testing destination SAPHTTP" followed by "RFC destination SAPHTTP inaccessible" (CMS 140).  After these messages I think the document is stored using destination SAPHTTPA. I have discovered that by adding the following entry to the HOSTS file on my laptop the document is stored successfully using destination SAPHTTP. There are no messages or 30 second delay.
205.123.456.789 mysapsys
It appears to me that SAPHTTP is attempting to resolve "mysapsys" as the domain name instead of "mysapsys.mycompany.com" which is necessary for DNS on our network. Is there anything we can do so SAPHTTP is resolved successfully without updating every users' HOSTS file? Our Basis team has implemented our servers and SAPGUI so it is not necessary for the HOSTS file to be updated on each user's machine.
Testing destination SAPHTTP from transaction SM59 is successful.
Finally I've attached the SAPHTTP log to the end of this post.  You can see when I test from SM59 the host name is "mysapsys.mycompany.com".  When I attempt to attach a document the host name is "mysapsys".  Why are the host names different?
Thanks for your help,
Jim

Hi,
Did you make a note search ?
A 2 minutes search gave me [Note 506314 - SAPHTTP and SSL|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/506314]
It seems that I was wrong and that SSL is possible with saphttp.exe since release 6.20
>If you have R/3 Version 4.6x:
>- ensure that SAPHTTP 6.20 is installed.
>- use the sapgenpse program to process the PSEs.
I still think this is a bad idea to use saphttp.xe with ECC 5.0 but it is your choice !

  • Defunct RFC destination prevents server from starting

    Hi,
    We have EP7.0 SP8 installed in Windows/Oracle.
There was an RFC destination defined pointing to a BI system and now the system is removed/renamed from the name space.
When the j2ee engine is started it looks for the system and results RFC_COMMUNICATION_ERROR and changing the status of the server process to "Starting Apps" and hangs in there for ever.
The dev_server0 log shows the following error: Is there a way to remove this RFC destination offline, without starting the server (assuming this is the root cause of th e problem   or is there something else is going wrong?

  • RFC destination definition with non-unicode external program

    Hello All,
we have one issue with our RFID system connecting to WM system (SWD).
For most functions, external RFID server/middleware makes RFC call to SAP system.  Means, from outside system to inside SAP.  This seems to be working fine.
But in one case, SAP needs to print label to RFID printer.  In this case, SAP is calling external RFID server/middleware using RFC destination.  Means, from inside SAP to outside system.  This is failing.
We think this has something to do with ECC60 being unicode system, and the RFC destination setup.  We define rfc destination "ZRFID_SSI" in SM59.  We define it same way as in as-is SSI 4.6B production system.  But in SWD ECC60 system, SM59 has more options.  We define as 'non-unicode' because target RFID server/middleware is non-unicode Windows server.  RFC destination is actually working ok.
To send label to printer, SWD calls function ZFSSIRF202 with remote destination ZRFID_SSI.   Listener on RFID server/middleware will respond to function call.  This also seems to be working.  But then, RFID server/middleware cannot process the data from ZFSSIRF202, log says that data is "0".  (Actually, the first time SWD calls, log says 0 data, the 2nd time there is connection failure, the 3rd time it is 0 data, 4th time connection failure, etc, etc.)
Compared with production environment, everything is the same, except that SAP is unicode system.  So, our suspicion is, that when ECC60 system sends data, it is encoded somewhat a little different than when SAP 46B system sends data.  I have similar experience with our other interface (XSI), also involving RFC desintion, but XML file exchange.  Here, ECC60 is encoding XML file with UTF-16, but SAP46B was encoding with UTF-8.
Anyone know how to help ?

    Hi Jeongbae,
as of NW 7.0 EhP2, it is possible to directly set the code page in SM59.
In earlier releases, this is not possible.
In general, SAP systems use the logon language (SY-LANGU)  to determine the code page, if this is available.
    Please check SAP note 788239.
Please also have a look at SAP note 991572 for possible alternative settings, if SY-LANGU is not available.
In addition I would recommend to have a look at SAP note 1021459.
However in order to analyze the problem properly, you need to know the exact short dump text (via rfc trace).
For XML processing, please read SAP note 1017101. UTF-16 should NOT be used in an XML file !

  • RFC Destination Settings

    Hello Gurus,
Earlier we had 2 ECC systems in the landscape.
Purchase requisition A from APO system supposed use RFC destination 1 and reflect in Plant XXXX
Purchase requisition B from APO system supposed use RFC destination 2 and reflect in Plant YYYY
Now we have only 1 ECC system in the landscape. we have changed the publication settings accordingly. but preq still not getting transferred correctly to ECC system.
Debugging the code shows system trying use wrong RFC destination.
Is there any other configuration setting we are missing.
    Please advise.
    Thanks In Advance
    Shyam

    Hi Shyam,
Please find my suggestions in regards to respective configuration settings.
    1) Did you delete the obsolete RFC destination(Logical System) from your landscape?
    2) Did you correct the RFC destination of plant YYYY to RFC Destination1 (incase you scrap RFC destination2 from landscape)?
    3) Check what is the Logical System that is maintained for the location YYYY from the table /SAPAPO/LOCMAP in APO system.
    4) Similar check for the products in the table /SAPAPO/MATMAP.
    5) Remove the obsolete ECC System from the BSG using T-code /SAPAPO/C2.
Post checking and correcting, do an intial transfer of locations via CIF from the current ECC system.
    Thanks,
    Santosh KB.

  • HOw to find out the RFC destination from BW system to ISU

    Hi,
Currently my requirement is to call a function module which is written in ISU (remote enabled) from BW system.
I am unable to find out the rfc destination from BW to ISU system.
In CRM we have table like smofparsfa1. Is there any table in BW which can provide me the ISU destination?
I need to compare the records stored in isu as well as in BW system.
I need to call a function module which will provide me the data from isu.
please help me in this regard.
    Krishna

    Hi,
You can check it in SM59 if there are any RFC destinations for the above systems.
Alternatively ,check the table RFCDEST if any entries are maintained

  • RFC Destination was incorrect, send complete BP Data again from CRM to R3

    Hello All
Iam facing in issue in CRM - BP Application due to incorrect RFC Destination maintained for SAP R3.
Our CRM Testing system (CRO - Client 300) is connected to R3 Testing System (NCQ - Client 300), but when CRM system went for refresh, RFC Destination was overwritten, and due to that CRM system started pointing to wrong R3 server (NCD - Client 002).
Till we got to know the problem, User had created a BP in CRM and it had flown to incorrect server. later we corrected the RFC Destination , but now the issue is that If I make any small change in CRM BP data, Bdoc  is going in error state and message says:
    Messages for business partner 0090001677:
No customer is assigned to business partner 4A13ACE0AB356006E10000000A212
Entry 0500   does not exist in  - check your entry
I tried to send BP data through middleware tCode /CRMM_Bupa_Send as well, but Bdoc gain got in error state saying :
Entry 0500   does not exist in  - check your entry
I think, these errors are coming because system is assuming that it has already sent the data to R3, and it expects certain data to be present in R3 system, which it is unable to find since data for corresponding BP is not present in SAP R3.
I there any way, transaction through which I can send complete BP data from CRM to R3??? Please help.
Edited by: Surbhi Goel on Jun 2, 2009 3:25 PM

    Hi Surbhi,
Could you try transaction CRMM_BUPA_MAP in order to see what mapping the system thinks there is (if any). It then allows you to send (same as BUPA_SEND) or retrieve data. I guess this will run into the same error, but it might be worth a try.
    Hope this helps.
    Sincerely,
    KZ

  • Error message when calling a Business Connector RFC destination from SRM

    Hello all,
We are facing one problem with data Purchase Order transmission between SRM 5.0 (SRM_SERVER 5.5, extended classic scenario) and Business Connector 4.7.
We made needed customizing in order to have "XML / XI" output medium available in tab 'Company Data' in "Manage Business Partners" web transaction (by updating BBP_USE_AI table in SM30 transaction).
Then, we implemented BAdI definition BBP_EBPXML_OUT_BADI with method PURCHASEORDER in order to change XI system type to Business Connector.
In this way, PO transfer data between SRM and BC is done using BC Module Function BAPI_POEC_XML_SEND (TCP/IP RFC connection was defined for Purchase Order in BBPC_RFCDEST table).
Nevertheless, even if method BBP_PO_SEND_XML is correctly triggered when PO is created with a vendor with XML output medium, we have in the document output log ("Process Purchase Order" web transaction) an error message:
' Error (Unknown Partner and Message Type. Routing Rule created. Sender: SMR Receiver:) when calling RFC destination BC '
where SRM is the SRM log. sys. and BC the Business Connector log. sys.
Our EAI team is working on it, but if you have any idea, your are welcome !
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards.
    Laurent

    Hello Christian,
Thank you for your help. However, we abandoned this solution between SRM and Business Connector.
So, we followed instructions indicated in OSS note 883693 - "ECS: PO output determination in R/3".
Nevertheless, in order to restrict this behaviour for specific vendors and purchasing organizations, we added some filters.
    It is working fine.
However, when the PO is modified in SRM, then order again, PO is modified in R/3 (by the RFC user from SRM) more than once.
As a consequence, we have as much messages as modifications of the order in R/3 (due to multiple RFC access with the SRM RFC user).
Does anybody have an idea to have only one R/3 output message when the PO is modified in SRM ?
One solution could be to check in the NAST table if the time creation of the last output message is lower than, for example, one minute.
If it is the case, we do not allow R/3 ouput message.
    Any suggestions is welcome.
    Regards.
    Laurent.

  • Is RFC destination is required for accessing BAPI from java/VB program.

I was not able to execute bapi BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST but I executed BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL succesfully.
    Still I have 2 doubt.
[1]. I called BAPI function module(BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL) from simple java program,But I need to call API method ( GETDETAIL) created for this BAPI not direct BAPI function module.
[2] this is something apart from original topic.
I have tested your java code in java as well as similar in ECC 6.0
But I am not getting any output in JAVA program.
I am getting output in ECC6.0 only when I will take internal table lt_mara[] with header line.
if I will take separate workarea output is not coming. I think this is the problem in JAVA also.
Please see the code and tell me where I am wrong.

  • RFC Destination from CE is unwantedly using SSO

    Hi,
Our developers are testing some services from Service Browser in CE 7.11 system. They are using the RFC Destination SAP_ECC which we have created from NWA --> Configuration Management --> Security --> Destinations.
In this RFC, we have given the details of the backend ECC system and also selected the user type as "Technical User" and provided a user/password. Pinging the destination from here works just fine.
But, when one of our services from Service Browser calls this destination SAP_ECC to access the backend system, then the call is not connecting to the backend using the technical user supplied in the destination, but is trying to use SSO. Thus the user being passed is not the technical user but the user of the developer who is calling the service. The error message says:
This system rejects all logons using SSO tickets
We do not have any intention of using SSO here.
Can someone suggest how to figure out why SSO is coming into picture and what can we do to elimincate this issue?
    Thanks,
    Shitij

  • Export or transport all the RFC destination from one system to another syst

    Hi
Is there any method to Export or transport all the RFC destination from one system to another system

    Hi,
the information is stored in table rfcdes. But there are also some other RFC*-tables which have some relations. Nevertheless the RFC-connectons will possibly not work anymore  in the new system(depending on the release your systems are), as the passwords are stored in the Sec store with system-dependent keys.

  • RFC Destination Connection Pool requirement

    Hi Experts,
I have a custom webdynpro java application to display number of work items pertaining to that particular user in a backend.
There are users who dont use this functionality as well. But the requirement is to place this application in home screen.
I have used both metadata and modeldata with hard coded user since we did not want error messages to appear for users who do not have backend access.
    Application & Access Details
    Application Location : Home Screen
Concurrent Users     : 600 concurrent users maximum possible value
Connection Usage    : Close connection immediately using disconnectIfAlive() method.
Now I need to configure JCO Pool Size , Max Connections, Wait Time for the RFC destination.
I have read a lot of post and documents but could not acheive clarity of thought on this.
Kindly let me know what values I should give in these fields for optimal performance and no connection issue for users.
    Regards,
    Porselvan

    Hi Muthavudaiyan,
    Hope you are doing good.
Basically from the JCo perspective, there are only 5 parameters that are involved here:
    jco.destination.pool_capacity:
Maximum number of connections that are held open in the pool for reuse (default: 1)
    jco.destination.peak_limit:
Maximum number of connections that can be obtained from a pool at peak usage times
    jco.destination.max_get_client_time:
Maximum time to wait for a free connection if the peak limit is reached before exception is thrown
    jco.destination.expiration_time:
Timeout period after which pooled idle connections can be closed (default: 600000ms = 10mins)
    jco.destination.expiration_check_period:
