RFC, SAP_BASIS 620

Hi,
i’m working with an application using following code:
     RfcRc = RfcCall(hRfc, "Z_PMOPEN_RECEIVE", Exporting, Tables);
     switch (RfcRc)
          case RFC_OK :
               // define import params
               Importing[0].name = "OUT_STORED_RECS";
               Importing[0].nlen = 15;
               Importing[0].type = TYPNUM;
               Importing[0].leng = sizeof(ZPM_INPUT_TAID);
               Importing[0].addr = iOutStoredRecs;
               Importing[1].name = "OUT_TAID";
               Importing[1].nlen = 8;
               Importing[1].type = TYPNUM;
               Importing[1].leng = sizeof(ZPM_INPUT_TAID);
               Importing[1].addr = iOutTaid;
               Importing[2].name = NULL;
               // receive results
               RfcRc = RfcReceive(hRfc, Importing, Tables, &RfcException);
All worked fine with the releases 4.5 and 4.6 but now I’m trying to make it with SAP_BASIS 620 an always get an RFC_SYS_EXCEPTION with RfcReceive (also with RfcCallReceive and  ..Ex ).
Can anyone help me?

>Do you get any short dumps in transaction ST22 for the problem?
Yes and I’m just trying to understand what it means (I didn’t write the functions on my own, I’m a c developer ).
>What version of libraries are you using?

    2 - I tried to manage the authentication via abap code: before the call to RECEIVE, I simply inserted this few lines of code:
    HTTP_CLIENT->PROPERTYTYPE_LOGON_POPUP = HTTP_CLIENT->CO_DISABLED.
    CALL METHOD HTTP_CLIENT->AUTHENTICATE
        EXPORTING
          PROXY_AUTHENTICATION = ' '
          USERNAME             = 'username'
          PASSWORD             = 'password'.
    where username and password are obviously the ones that leads to a positive authentication via web browser. Again, I get in output an error 401 Unauthorized due probably to a login procedure error.
    Can anyone help me with this task? Thanks in advance
    EDIT: sorry for the double post, I wasn't able to get a decent text output in a single message so I had to split the original message in two..

    Hi Matteo,
                   I had faced a similar issue when I tried to consume a external web-service from SAP(4.7 with WAS 6.20). But, there was a difference that, there were no authentication required while accessing from a browser, as you have mentioned. So, my solution probably won't work in your case.
    Anyways I thought, I should share it. I solved the issue by changing the HTTP proxy settings in transaction SICF(Goto-->Http Proxy). In my case actually I solved the issue by removing the Http proxy settings completely(direct connection). For you I think, you have to probably use the USERID/PASSWORD for the Http proxy.
    I may be wrong, just check it out.

  • 640 or 620.

    Hi,
    I am doing a system inventory in this company I just joined.  I was puzzled with one of their system.  The software components have a release of 620 but the kernels are 640. Is this standard for CRM 4.0?
    software components:
         SAP_BASIS          620
         SAP_ABA             620
         BBPCRM              400
         PI_BASIS              2004_1_620
         ST-PI                    2005_1_620

    They are in Netweaver04, Win IA64 & Oracle 9i.
    thanks

    Hi,
    It quit normal.
    We have a standard R3 4.7 working on BASIS Stack of 620 and the SAP Kernel with 640.
    No issues with that ....

    I ] Problem
    We are having problem while replicating the Business Partners from CRM to R3. When we create a Business Partner ( Type People) through transaction BP on the CRM server it creates an entry in table but000 on the CRM side but the same entry does not exist in kna1 table on R/3 server.
    When we check the BDOC through transaction smw01 on the CRM server there exist an entry with BDOC State Description " Send to receivers (not all have confirmed)" for BDOC Type BUPA_MAIN.
    II ] Configurations
    We have done following settings before creating Business Partners through CRM
    Settings on CRM Server
    1> RFC Destination "CARDONR3_DEV" for R3 server is defined in sm59 on the CRM side and is working OK.
    2> Through transaction BUCF we have defined a number range named C1 ( 0005000000 to 0005999999) with External flag deselected.
    3> Through SPRO we have defined a grouring C001 (CRM Customer) and assigned number range C1 to it.
    Settings on the R3 server
    1> RFC Destination "CMDCLNT110" for CRM server is defined in sm59 on the R3 side and is working OK.
    2> Through transaction OVZC we have defined cutomer number range named C1 ( 0005000000 to 0005999999) with External flag selected.
    3> Through transaction OVT0 we have created Cutomer Account Group named Z001 which is copy of 0001 (Sold to Party). Number range C1 is assigned to the account group Z001.
    4> Through transaction VOPA we have maintained the Partner function for customer master i.e Acct Grp Z001 is assigned to Function SP.
    5> In transaction PIDE under CRM -> R3 assignment we have selected account group Z001 to Classification type B (i.e Customer)
    III ] Procedure Followed
    1>  On the CRM server we execute the transaction "BP" .
    2>  We Click on Create Person button.
    3> Following Selections are made
         a) Create in role : Sold-To-Party
         b) Grouping : CRM Customer
         c) Field Title, First name and Last name are selected
         d) In the tab Classification we select R/3 Account Group as "0001". System does not allow us to select the R/3 Account group "Z001"
    4> On Saving the entry Business Partner is created in table but000 on the CRM side.
    5> The above entry is not replicated in table kna1 on R3 side as expected.
    IV ] Observation
    We are not able to select account group "Z001" in the BP creation screen. When we run the Intial Load (R3AS) on CRM server for object "DNL_CUST_ACGRPB" (i.e AccountingGrp Business Partner) (Replication from R3 to CRM)  it shows the status done in screen R3AM1 but the entry for account grouip Z001 which is created manually on R3 side during the configuration phase is not replicated on the CRM side.
    We have referred a note for the above error which said that the basis patch "SAP_BASIS" should be at level 56 but we are already on Patch Level 56.
    Please guide us.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Yatin

    Hi Yatin,
    Glad to hear one of the problem has resolved.
    In order to simplify the analysis, I assume few things
    from your information :
    1. Connection between CRM and R/3 are correctly run
    2. Other necessary customizing Objects relate to BP
       have been downloaded properly to CRM.
    Few things you can check :
    1. Did you enter Correspondence Language & Language
       in CRM BP ? just make sure you did.
    2. Try to complete minimum data such as Search Term,
       Street/House, Postal Code / City and Country in CRM BP.
    3. Check the detail Error message in SMW01 (can you get
       more detail - normally you can click on SHOW BDOC Msg
       ERROR)
    You also can trace/debug LUW,:
    - use tcode SMQ1 to see the stopped queue for that error
      transfer
    - Click menu Go To -> QOUT Scheduler
      Click on R/3 destination and deactivate/deregister it
    - In SMQ1 select the error queue, double click on it.
       and after next screen double click again
    - Then Start DEBUG LUW
    - Insert debug breakpoint in statement Call Transaction
      and execute F8
    - When it stopped, Change the variable mode to A
      it will show you the missing/incomplete fields.
    You need to register/activate back the R/3 destination after you have finish debugging.
    Hope this helps, let me know the result
    Cheers,
    Gun.

  • SAP R/3 Enterprise : Background job run on application servers

    Hello All,
    For our SAP system (SAP_BASIS 620, SAP_ABA 620,SAP_APPL 470), there are 5 application servers and one central instance.
    We have a  Background job that connects to external non sap system for data delivery via RFC of Type "G" i.e.HTTP Connection to Ext. Server with port 443 . RFC works fine.
    In transaction STRUST, SSL certificates are also installed to enable the https connectivity from R3 system.
    Our current issue is that background jon runs on one of the application server correctly and is able to transfer that data to external system. However if same job runs on other 4 application server, it fails to connect to external server and throws error:
    RFC Destination XXXX not defined
    407 Unknown error
    Failed to store the XML content
    Error in the XML document: 1301540.xml
    407 Unknown error
    This is very starnge for us .RFC is working correctly every time but background job works on one AS and not on other AS.
    Where and What can be the difference in application servers.
    Please help to send in ur replies. Thanks

    Hi,
    Is there a firewall between the non SAP system and the SAP system ? It could be that firewall rules have only been set for one only of the SAP application servers ?
    Did you check the HTTP connections from each application server ?
    Did you check that the ICM is running on each SAP application server ?

  • Sapnwrfc problem with RfcOpenConnection

    I am trying to run the RFC server programing example that begins on page 44 of the SAP NetWeaver RFC SDK - Release 7.1. I am using MS VS 2005
    This line appears to be the problem:
    repoHandle = RfcOpenConnection (repoCon, 8, &errorInfo);
    repoHandle is not null, but the handle field within it is.
    Then when I get to RfcGetFunctionDesc:
    stfcDeepTableDesc = RfcGetFunctionDesc(repoHandle, cU("STFC_DEEP_TABLE"), &errorInfo);
    I get this error:
    RFC_INVALID_PARAMETER: inconsistence in description detected: non-unicode length is too small
    I have tried different users and different function modules with no luck.
    Any suggestions ?

    Thanks Satish
    I had read that before but I reread it after your post and it led me to the problem.
    The problem is RfcGetFunctionDesc cannot read a function that imports or exports a structure.
    For my case I can get by with simple types.

  • Running BDLS with SHDB input

    Hi experts,
    Some time ago, I have written a program that uses ABAP4_CALL_TRANSACTION RFC to call user defined transactions. It works by using a textfile - generated by SHDB - as input for the dynpros.
    Now I need to use this program to execute BDLS automaticly, but it fails with this message:
    <b>"Start screen does not exist in batch input data"</b>
    What does this message mean and how can I avoid it?
    Here some additional information:
    Running BDLS manually works.
    Running BDLS by using SHDB & SAPGUI directly works, too.
    Running other Transactions (SM21, SE38, AL08) by my executeable works.
    I'm using:
    SAP IDES 4.70
    SAP_BASIS 620 Level 38
    Client and AS are running on the same host, which is AIX 5.3.0.0
    BDLS Status data:
    Transaction      BDLS
    Program          RBDLSMAP
    Program (screen) RBDLSMAP
    Screen number    1000
    Program (GUI)    RSSYSTDB
    Here is my input (removed additional white spaces for easier read):
              0000  T  BDLS
    RBDLSMAP  1000  X
              0000     BDC_CURSOR     NEW_LS

    Hi ,
    Can you try with the following input...
    RBDLSMAP  1000  X
              0000     BDC_CURSOR     NEW_LS
              0000     BDC_CURSOR     =ONLI

              0000     CHECK_IT       X
              0000     MAXIMUM        1.000.000
    and the import parameters to the FM would be Tcode = 'BDLS', skip_screen = ' ' ...

  • Oracle memory gets trimmed every 6 hours

    We have a very strange behaviour in our SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7 production system (SAP_BASIS 620).
    SAP runs on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition.
    10 GB RAM, PAE enabled (Physical Address Extension).
    The affected server is the database server, which also runs some working processes (DIA, BTC and UPD).
    There are also 6 Windows application servers (x32, x64 and Itanium).
    After a normal SAP start, all Windows processes bit by bit allocate their memory.
    oracle.exe starts with a Mem Usage 236 MB (VM Size 1.900 MB).
    You can see this in Windows Task Manager.
    After about 30 minutes oracle.exe reaches its average value of about 2 GB.
    The value ranges from 1,9 GB up to 2,5 GB.
    Then, about every 6 hours the following happens:
    oracle.exe deallocates its memory completely !
    No answer in SAPGUI, no reaction on the console for about 5 Minutes.
    Then when i get the first look at the Task manager, i see that oracle.exe allocated about 80 MB.
    In the next 20 minutes Mem Usage raises up to the average value of about 2 GB.
    During this time, the performance comes up again step by step.
    Not only Oracle is affected, at least every disp+work process also frees all allocated mamory.
    But it seems as if Oracle would be the first to free up its memory and then drags down the SAP Kernel processes.
    We have no changes made to the SAP Kernel, we did not apply any Windows updates.
    SAP operated error-free for the last 2 years in this configuration.
    The only thing we did, was to apply several SAP Support Packages (Basis + Application).
    This behaviour occured the next day after we imported those packages.
    So we have to suspect these packages, although the symptoms point to a problem with the SAP kernel, Oracle or the Windows memory mamagement.
    SAP Support adviced us to reduce the load on the server, so we suspended some work processes.
    Result: no improvement.
    Next we reduced the Oracle cache size by 250 MB.
    Result: the situation became even worse, the error occured every hour.
    So we icreased the cache size up to 1,36 GB.
    Result: could be an improvement, not sure yet.
    I am wondering what must happen, that all processes on a Windows Server deallocate their memory.
    Can a ABAP-Report provoke this error ?
    Has anybody else ever seen such a behaviour ?
    Any ideas ?

    Thx for your interest in this issue.
    For clarification:
    - Database version is 9.2.0.7.0
    - We will upgrade to 64 Bit in the next months, but we still need a solution for our 32 Bit system.
    - We did not add new application servers. These servers were up and running before and after the problem occured.
    - I don't think that Oracle restarts. There are no ORA-entries in the Oracle Log and there is no Oracle-Usertrace.
    The system slows down, because every byte, that is backed up in the paging file (as far as i know in MS terms this is called "standby list"), has become invalid and must be read from disk.
    Not only Oracle is affected, every process trimmed its working set.
    For example Terminal Services is unresponsive for about 4 minutes.
    In the end all processes continue their work, but it takes some time until their working set has been restored from the paging file.
    No errors occur, no Dumps, no EventLog or SystemLog entries.
    There are just some TIMEOUTs, caused by the unresponsiveness of the server in the first minutes of the memory crash.
    @Markus:
    Yes, i also think that we reached some kind of Oracle memory limit.
    Since we increased the Oracle cache size, the frequency of the error has been significantly reduced.
    But still i am wondering what funny things can happen.
    I would expect Oracle to crash, Windows to bluescreen, SAP to dump.
    But freeing the memory of all processes is something completely new to me.

    Where is my mistake in the ENV of the User: <sid>adm / st1adm ?
    thanks
    dennis

    Hi,
    It is already solved, so it does not matter much.
    But, looking at the first post:
    environment variables does not seem correct for a kernel 6.40 using client 9i. Same can be said about brtools 700 with client 10g:
    > DBS_LIBPATH_EXT=/oracle/client/instantclient_10202_V2
    > ORA_NLS10=/oracle/st1/1020_64/nls/data
    > LIBRARY_PATH=/oracle/st1/1020_64
    > LIBPATH=/usr/lib:/lib:/usr/sap/st1/SYS/exe/run:/oracle/st1/1020_64/lib32:/oracle/client/instantclient_10202_V2
    I think this is a bit "messy"

  • Limit displayed users when creating substitution role in Portal-UWL

    Hi all!
    We are trying to customize the UWL in our Portal (NW7, SPS12) the following way:
    When users define a substitution role, they shell only be allowed to see (and chose) certain users. Any ideas?
    We already tried to solve this using "companies" in our UME. See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3e/9bd6e9a11fd847a1ca1a5f9ac6ad23/frameset.htm
    Unfortunately, this does not limit the list of shown users here (although it works perfectly in our UME).
    Greetings and thanks for any hints
    Peter Lintner

    By default there is no easy way to do this ..... BUT you might find SAP Note: 977069 somehat helpful.
    It talks about new BAdI functionality which although you still have to write something, it means you can rely on your ABAP developers rather than having to do something with the portal based functionality.  Up until the versions below - there was little you could do short of implementing your own uwl.
    Available in:
    SAP_BASIS 620 SAPKB62061
    SAP_BASIS 640 SAPKB64019
    SAP_BASIS 700 SAPKB70010
    It is likely that SAP will address this shortcoming in future versions but no information is available yet.

  • Error when opening PDF files from SAP.

    Hi Gurus
    I have posted this question in ABAP Development section also. Please read the below text.
    We are having a strange intermittent problem with Adobe Reader. When we try to open PDF files from SAP Frontend we get an error pop-up. The pop-up does not have any text. The title of the pop-up has "Adobe Reader". There is a blue question mark and an OK button.
    This issue occurs few times a day in Windows Vista.
    This issue does not occur in Windows XP.
    Since past few weeks, we have been trying to find some error/warning/atleast some text in log files of SAP, OS, Adobe Reader, Registry entries, Event Viewer. So far, we have not found anything.
    SAP is not able to help as this issue occurs intermittently and said when they tried, the issue did not occur. They made two attempts and in each attempt they tried 10 times to reproduce the issue. This issue occurs intermittently.
    Environment
    SAP R/3 4.7 EE SAP_Basis 620 Support Package 61
    Windows Vista Enterprise
    Adobe Reader 9.0 and Adobe Reader 9.1 (tried with both versions)
    SAPGUI 710 Patch 12 (latest patch). It also occured in Patch 11.
    Please suggest
    Thank you
    Pavan

    Now I got to capture the screenshot, however not able to attach/upload here but it says:
    'Reading Untagged Documents'
    lets say i tried to open 6 page document then it said:
    'This 6-page document is untagged and must be prepared for reading. While the document is being
    analyzed, your assistive technology will not be able to interact with this application. '
    then it asked for Reading options
    then a checkbox for to confirm 'Always use the settings from the Reading Preferences (Do not show this dialog again)
    then 'OK/START' and 'cancel' buttons
    It seems, this is the problem with Adobe w.r.t Vista.
    thanks

    Thank you for the quick reply.
    We tried many notes from Service Market Place. Also, Windows Team is in contact with Adobe.
    As per Adobe's suggestions, we tried changing preferences of Adobe Reader. We think it might be a problem with SAP Frontend.
    Present status - Issue still exists. nothing works.
    Thank you

  • Error while upgrading SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7 to SAP ECC 5.0

    Dear SAP,
    We are on the process of upgrading SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7 with Ext:110 to SAP ECC 5.0.But during the VERSCHK_INI phase an error is been thrown showing that
    "The start release configuration :
    SAP_ABA  :620
    SAP_APPL :470
    SAP_BASIS :620
    SAP_HR:470.....is not supported "
    At this stage we decided to continue with this by ignoring the VERSCHK_INI phase,but it gave us a warning that to continue with the next phase(TOOLVERSIOn_INI phase) we require a password.
    we searched in several documents even in the documents along with the cd but was not able to find a password for this or a solution for the error in phase VERSCHK_INI.
    I request team SAP to help us in this regard.Expecting your reply ASAP.
    Thanks and  Regards
    Anantha Raman E.

    Were you able to find a resolution to this problem. We are also having a similar problem in our prepare phase and cannot find anything to help us as yet.
    Thanks,
