RFC Sender (XI 3.0, SP14) Load Balancing doesn't work

Hi all,
We're "desperately" trying to use the Load Balancing option of RFC Sender Adapter (XI 3.0, SP14). It doesn't work.
The Adapter can not register to the sender SAP server. But when we do not use the "Load Balancing" option, everything works well.
We did follow the XI guidelines step-by-step. All necessary configurations in XI and in SAP sender system (TA: SM59) are "properly" done and reviewed by different experts several times.
Do you have, by chance any running scenario using "Load Balancing" within a RFC Adapter? If yes, I would appreciate if you can share it with me.
Thanks a lot!
Regards,
Khaled

Hello Khaled,
the RFC sender adapter registers a program at the SAP Gateway. Load Balancing for the Sender Adapter means, that you have at least two J2EE server nodes within your XI installation. On all these server nodes the same RFC sender adapter is started and register the same program at the same gateway. The load balancing is then handled by the gateway. That means, that for the sender adapter the settings are the same, even if you use load balancing or not.
The settings are, e.g.
- SID=ABC
- hostname=abchost (central instance, message server)
- hostname=xyzhost (additional dialog instance of ABC)
- instance nr=00
application server (gateway): xi1host
application server service (gw-service): sapgw00
programm id: could be freely choosen
The Metadata Repository could be connected using load balancing. Here a user need to log on to the system.
The settings here must be:
Message-Server: abchost
Message-Server-Service: sapmsABC
System-ID: ABC
Logon-Group: e.g. PUBLIC; this logon group need to be created in system ABC using transaction SMLG
For the RFC-Receiver Adapter the same settings as for the Metadata could be used.
Keep in mind, that for the RFC Sender Adapter a RFC connection of type T must be created in transaction SM59 in system ABC.
Rgds.,
Andreas

  • MPLS TE equal or unequal load balancing doesn't work? - step2

    Previous question in thread:
    Dear Sir!
I've two MPLS TE tunnels from one PE to another PE.
And there are traffic share count between them
(as tunnel mpls traffic-eng load-share command define).
But in real life all traffic from the same source to the same destination go through only one tunnel
(as CEF define - i.e. how sh ip cef exact-route says).
PEs are 3660 platforms with c3660-jk9o3s-mz.123-8.T
    installed.
How can I correct this problem?
But this answer does not solved my issue:

This is expected behavior since CEF is used at the head end to perform label imposition. I wouldn't recommend changing the default bahavior to per=packet loadsharing since this could lead to of of sequence packets, which could lower the overall performance.
    Hope this helps,
    so my secound question:
    Dear Sir!
I'm agree with you as MPLS TE tunnels are opened from PE to PE, so CEF does it work.
But if I open this tunnels from P to PE, ONLY ONE of this tunnels are used instead of load-sharing, if traffic go from one source (of site1 of VPN1) to the same destination (located at site2 of VPN1).
Why? Packet through P-devices swithes by labels, so I mean that CEF cannot does src-dst load sharing?
My problem are that I must to do load sharing between this two tunnels in the case above.
Q: How can I solve this problem?

The per session load-balancing is also used by MPLS when multiple paths are available. Changing this behavior to per-packet is still not recommended.
    Hope this helps,

  • Round-robin Load balancing doesn't work after one instance reboot

    Hi,
We have two weblogic instances in a cluster. All Http requests are routed through the plug-in for load-balancing(round-robin). One instance in a cluster is shutdown for production maintenance. Now all requests are being forwarded to the second instance. When the first instance is started, only the new users are forwarded to the first instance. The requests from users already logged in are not forwarded to the first instance. Due to this the second instance is over-loaded.
How to prevent this and make weblogic to distribute the load even after the server restart? This is a production problem and I highly appreciate your responses.
              Thanks,
              Prasad Dantuluri

it worked when I removed the value entered in the "Unicast Broadcast Channel" and restarted the cluster. Don't know what is supposed to go in that field but hey.

  • Load balancing doesn't work

    I'm using iAS 9.0.2.2.1
I need to establish 2 form servers for Load Balancing.
I have done all the things written in the document,
but it seem doesn't work !
I need extra information for establishing Load balancing
in form server , is there anyone could help me !
    Thanx in advance
    Kamran Bakhshandeh

    Hi,
the server version you give is Oracle9iAS Release 2, but the Forms release is Forms 6i as is in Oracle9iAS Release 1 (9.0.1.x). Actually these wont work together. Also, the Forms 6i metrics server used for loadbalancing does not work with Servlets but the Forms listener. Loadbalancing with Forms6i is documented in the Whitepaper for patch 10 (http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms/pdf/p10listenerservlet.pdf).
The load balancing in Oracle9iAS Release 2 Forms Services is done with mod_oc4j.

  • Oracle Applications 11i Load Balancing does not work with RAC one Node

    Hi all,
Could you help me to resolve this issue.
    Architecture environment is :
    - One APPS tier node
    - Two nodes Oracle Database Appliance (Primary node 1 holds INSTANCE_1 et Secondary node is configurured to holds INSTANCE_2), i.e RAC one Node.
    - The primary node have instance_name SIGM_1 and the secondary node have instance_name SIGM_2, but in RAC one node, the secondary instance is not alive.
We convert our EBS 11i environment to RAC following note ID Using Oracle 11g Release 2 Real Application Clusters with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i [ID 823586.1].
When testing Database failover, Oracle Applications 11i load balancing does not work anymore.
The root cause is that, when the primary node of the Rac one node is down, the INSTANCE_NAME_1 is automaically relocating to the surviving node,.
During test failover, we imagine that when the primary node goes down, the secondary node start or relocate database with instance_name SIGM_2, and in that case the Oracle Applications load balancing works.
Currently, when the primary node goes down, the instance_name SIGM_1 is relocated on the secondary node, which cause failure of Oracle Applications Load Balancing.
    Thank you for your advice.
    Moussa

This is something I observed a long time ago for Safari (ie: around version 1). I'm not sure this is Safari, per se, but OpenSSL that is responsible for the behavior. I'm pretty sure Chrome does this and I've seen some Linux browsers do it.
What I have done at the last two companies I've worked for is recommend that our clients do not use SSL SessionID as the way of tracking sticky sessions on web servers, but instead using IP address. This works in nearly all cases and has few downsides. The other solution is to use some sort of session sharing on your web servers to mitigate the issue (which also means that your web servers aren't a point of failure for your users' sessions). (One of the products I supported had no session information stored on the web servers, so we could safely round-robin requests, the other product could be implemented with a Session State Server... but in most cases we just used IP address to load balance with). The other solution is to configure your load balancer to terminate the SSL tunnel. You get some other benefits from this, such as allowing your load balancer to reduce the number of actual connections to the web servers. I've seen many devices setup this way.
One thing to consider through this is that - due to the way internet standards work - this really can't be termed a bug on anyone's part. There is no guarantee in the SSL/TLS standards that a client will return the same SSL Session ID for each request and there is not requirement that subsequent requests will even use the same tunnel. Remember, HTTP is a stateless protocol. Each request is considered a new request by the web server and everything else is just trickery to try and get it to work the way you want. You can be annoyed at Safari's behavior, but it's been this way for over 5 years by my count, so I don't expect it to change.

    Hi Peter,
In order to analyze your issue better, we need more detailed information.
Did you mean when you launch the Windows store app, the app can't start? Was there any prompt message or error code? Did this issue occur on all Windows Store app or specific one?

  • Email send issue using "Mail Server Load balancer"  (Cisco ACE 20)

Please let me know if someone have experienced this kind of issue or any suggestions.
The send email action was working file in MII with smtp mail server on port 25. Recently basis did a change in mail server ip address and they installed a new Load Balancer . The Load balancer is between SMTP and MII. After this change MII does not send email (unknown source error). now MII send email action has ip address or qualified path of Load balancer in MII send email configuration instead of direct ip address of SMTP server. Below is the error message in Net Weaver logs.
MII still sends email if direct ip address of email server  provided but not through email Load balancer .
    Any suggestions ?

  • Accessing individual server in load-balanced cluster not working as expected

We have a cluster set up with multiple managed servers and hardware load
balancers sitting in front to direct traffic. We have the frontend host
configured to be the dns name of the single URL for the cluster, which maps
to the IP address that the load balancers balance. When accessing part of
our site (a WebLogic portal) at
              http://server1/portalApp/appmanager/portal/desktop
(where server1 is the name of one of the managed servers)
the portal performs a redirect to the login page at
              /portalApp/appmanager/portal/desktop?_nfbp=true&_pageLabel=login_page.
The URL that results in the browser is not what I would expect, which would be
              http://server1/portalApp/...
              Instead, it is
              http://cluster/portalApp/...
where cluster is the frontend host setting. Is there any way to avoid
this, so we can perform directed testing on specific managed servers?
              Thanks,
              Andy

Hi Maria, thanks for your help! I wrote a simple test jsp that does a
redirect if a parameter is set, otherwise it doesn't do anything. When I
accessed the jsp at server1/app/test.jsp?a=true, something (I assume
either WebLogic or the load balancer) rewrote the URL after the redirect
(the redirect was to /app/test.jsp). The URL that appears in the browser
after the redirect is cluster/app/test.jsp. Do you know if this happens
because of WebLogic or the load balancer? Our load balancers are Cisco
              11503's I believe.
Do you think it would make any difference if I leave the frontend host
for the cluster to be the dns name of the cluster, and then if I set the
frontend host for each server to be the dns name of that specific server?
Currently each server does not have any value entered for frontend host.
              Thanks!

  • How does load-balancing with WebCache work - is there still a bottleneck?

    Hello,
We're migrating an old Forms 6i app to 10.1.2.0.2 (apps servers = Redhat Linux), and are starting to consider using WebCache to loadbalance between two application servers.
My question is this - say we have apps servers A and B, both running Forms and Reports Services. We use Webcache on server A (don't have the luxury of a third apps server...) to load balance between A and B. So all initial requests come into A, which in some cases may then be diverted to start a new Forms session on B.
For those users whose middle-tier sessions are now running on B - will all network traffic for their Forms session continue to be routed through Webcache on A, then to B, over the course of the session? Or does Webcache somehow shunt the whole connection to be straight between the client PC and server B, for the duration of that Forms session?
If the former, does that mean that the server hosting Webcache can still be a significant bottleneck for network traffic? Have people found load-balancing with Webcache to be useful..?
    Thanks in advance,
    James

    Hi gudnyc,
Thanks for posting on Adobe forums.
For HDPI you do not have to do any It will adjust automatically.

  • Load balancing is not working correctly during server fail-over

    Hi,
We have 4 weblogic instances in a cluster with proxy-plugin load balancing the requests. When instance 1 is shutdown, all the subsequent requests from users whose sessions were at instance1 are sent over to instance2 only. They are not divided between instance2, instance3 and instance4.
Can somebody, please, tell if there is any solution to this so that sessions for users who were being redirected to instance1 will be divided between instances 2,3 and 4.
              Thanks,
              Prasad

It is not possible because in a cluster server1 always chooses the same secondary server (with some algorithm)
So all sessions with primaries on server1 will have secondaries on same secondary server.
So if primary is down, all the requests(that has primaries on server1) will be routed to the same secondary server.

  • Sharepoint 2013 SP1 incoming email in load balanced farm not working on both servers

I have 2 SharePoint 2013 WFE servers with a VIP load balancer.
I have configured the basic scenario incoming email on both servers as per this article
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/library/cc262947(v=office.15).aspx.
The email makes it to both WFEs in the SMTP drop folder but SharePoint picks it up always from one smtp server.
What could go wrong?  is there any additional configuration needed so that sharepoint check both servers?

MX records can be pointing to the IPs of your Incoming Email SharePoint servers. They should have the same weight if you want them to load balance, or different weights if you want them to be failover.

  • Stop sending us to the troubleshooting page, it doesn't work!!

You can't keep sending thousands of people to the troubleshooting page because you
know darn good and well it DOESN'T WORK! How about sending us a real fix???

"we" send you an article because it is a starting point of reference to begin trial and error
if manual and auto install of all Apple software does not work then heavier artillary.
    error messages etc
And having been in the same boat, and I was using "Mint" for my iPod and their service is totally screwed up and that is my financial instution and I just don't want anything to do with Mint at this point.. I got boiling mad at them.... so I do know what it feels like.
Okay. I can say that I had trouble with iOS and new iPod and found a PC hadn't used much that worked. I also tried clean installs on Windows 8 Preview just to see, and that works.
apple is doing better but their 64-bit support and drivers/apps have not been that good even after 5 yrs? with Vista and counting, it now puts things "where they belong" better but the normal uninstall leaves behind old versions and files, so takes manual labor.
And want to make sure you have been down that path.
I spent a day on a new OS, pulled the old OS drive, been two years no real issues with Windows 7 until now, this and iOS.
iTunes 10.5 does run better under Windows 8 Dev Preview than it ever did more me under 10.4 and Windows 7 (64-bit Pro SP1).
Even a normal uninstall does not remove everything, and some things are in wrong location directories. Normally Apple leaves older versions around which never made sense and can interfere.
Not just iTunes but ALL Apple software needs to be uninstalled and removed. Look for any Apple related and look for "Lockdown" and WOW64 if needed to find "Quicktime" remnants.

When testing a movie in flash with simulate download the
Loader.close() function doesn't seem to work when trying to cancel

    stopped loading
