Rich editor text get strikethrough in alert email in SharePoint

Hi,
The text under HTML editor gets strikethrough in the alert email of SharePoint.
I have created a Blog site and on the blog list some users have set to get alerts whenever any blog is updated.
In normal scenario, whenever any blog gets updated the previous message shows as strikethrough and the new entered text shows without any strike.
But in my case the users are get both sections (the previous as well as new) text as strikethrough. This should not be acceptable and can’t be an identical scenario.
This has happened only for the body section of those blogs, which is a Rich Text editor.
Can anyone let me know how to stop this scenario?

I'm getting this same thing. Would like to hear an answer if anyone has found one.

  • Text gets repeated in Mail emails when received by Internet Explorer users

Can anyone please help? When I send an email to someone with Internet Explorer 6 (on a PC) and my message is composed with Rich Text format the recipient gets the text of the message repeated in the same email (ie the same text appears twice) One of the two lots of text is formatted, the other usually isn't. In addition, sometimes the attachments seem to be repeated too, but usually only one attachment actually opens. I have used common fonts like Arial and Helvetica - that doesn't seem to make any difference. I look forward to hearing from someone with a solution! It seems a shame to have to send out emails in plain text.

I meant to say when opened in Outlook Express (not Internet Explorer).
You might want to verify whether you mean Outlook Express or just Outlook. They are not the same.
The problem arises in trying to send out an email that will look the same whoever opens it.
There is no guarantee that you can do this. There are too many things people can do at the other end that can make it impossible.
I'll try the Western ISO Latin as you suggest - see if that helps.
Here is info on problems that can happen with Outlook, in case it is of use. But if you have a lot of problems you may want to consider moving to another app, like Entourage (made by MS to work with its Windows stuff) or Thunderbird.

  • Sending alert emails from SharePoint

    Hi all,
I'm having trouble sending emails from SP 2013. Can someone explain me in detail how to connect SP 2013 with Exchange 2010? The CRM and Exchange are located on two different servers.
    Vlastimir Sindelic

With Exchange 2010, what you want is an Anonymous Receive Connector. In SharePoint, under Central Admin -> System Settings -> Outgoing email settings, you would specify the DNS name for the IP that is tied to the Anonymous Receive Connector.
Based on the defaults, you will need to add a second IP address to the Exchange server in order to support the Anonymous Receive Connector, and bind the Connector to that IP address.

  • SharePoint Online custom alert emails

How can I change the alert email that SharePoint online (part of Office 365) send out.  I've seen alot of reference to AlertTemplate.xml but that is if you have SP installed on a local server.
I would like to add the check in comments to the alert email.

    Hi Scott,
The Alerttemplates.xml file is located at: Local_Drive\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\Template\XML directory on On-Premise SharePoint local server, so we can customize the alert template file on local server with server
    administration permission per this
    article.
But in Office365 SharePoint Online, if you wan to customize the alert template you need to customize the Alerttemplates.xml under 14 folder on Online server, but it is not permitted, check this article
    you also have seen.
You can also post this question related SharePoint Online in dedicated Office365 SharePoint Online forum, you can get a better assistance there,

  • XI Alert email question

Hi Whenever I trigger alert from XI through a user defined module(SALERT_CREATE) Iam getting an email as configured...I want to change the sender email address in the mail I dont know where its been configured...I checked WF_BATCH(In SU01) its not in there..Where do I need to look for sender address...

    HI Larry,
Been a long time since i used alerts.
If i remember correctly if you use SE37 to send alert using FM salert_create then in the alert email you will get the from as your email id.
But i believe your program must be running in background .Check out the user whose authorization is used to run the program, you can find the same in the RFC destination .
btw what is the email address which you are getting in your alert email.

  • When I send a text message through my work email, keep in mind I do not get my work email on my phone, the response comes back to my phone instead of my work email. Where do I need to go to change this to keep it from happening?

I do not have my iphone synced with my work email but when I send a text message via my work email any response I get comes to my phone. Why? How do I change that because I do not want my phone connected with my work email?
    Thank you

I am not sure what you mean.
Do you mean the From field?
You can change it by tapping it, it will give you options based on the other email accounts set up.
You can set a default account here:
Sttings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > scroll down to the Mail section & you will see Default Account. You can change that to your gmail account.

  • When i send a text in iMessage the person receiving it gets it from my email address... how do i change that. and in message settings the receiving thing has my email and phone number but my phone number is gray and i can't click on it

when i send a text in iMessage the person receiving it gets it from my email address... how do i change that. and in message settings the receiving thing has my email and phone number but my phone number is gray and i can't click on it help

    Hello Todd:
I had this very same problem when trying to activate iMessage and Facetime on my iPad. When I signed into my account, I actually wasn't even presented with the option of a phone number - notwithstanding the fact that I was contacting others (and being reached by others) by my phone number on my iPhone. Having both the iPad and the iPhone on, I kept trying to turn off and on both iMessage and Facebook in Settings on both my iPad and iPhone, hoping that that they would eventually sync. But this proposed solution by others was unsuccessful for me.
Then, I found out what the problem was: When my iPhone was activated, it automatically registered my phone number for contact purposes. I was using iMessage on my iPhone for quite some time without actually being signed into my Apple ID account. When another device - such as an iPad or iPod - is being used for iMessage or Facebook, you are prompted to sign into your Apple account, using your username and password. These two devices will not register your phone number as an option for contact unless your iPhone is signed into your Apple account as well. In other words: your phone number will not be synced.
Go into your "Settings" on your iPhone and click on "Messages". Scroll down and click on "Send & Receive" (which should be followed by your phone number). On the next page, you will be able to determine whether or not your iPhone is using the Apple ID for messaging purposes. (Note: This information applies for Facetime as well.) If it is using your Apple ID for messaging, than at the top, you will see "Apple ID: <your particular e-mail account>" in Blue text. However, if you are not using your Apple ID for messaging, than you will see the words: "Use your Apple ID for message". Even though below this you will see your phone number checked as the contact source, you will want to click the tab that says, "Use your Apple ID for message". Sign into your account (just as you must sign in for iMessage on your other devices), and just choose your phone number as the "Send & Receive" contact. (The option of the e-mail will be there too, but you don't have to check it. And later on, you can delete it as an option.)
Now that all of your devices are signed in using your Apple ID, the other devices should register your phone number as a choice. It may take a little while, however. What I did was sign out of iMessage on my iPad, and then sign in again. If the option didn't appear, I just went back and signed in again, and kept doing this until the option for the phone number appeared.
Again, this will work for Facetime as well. The solution is to sync your iPhone account with the other devices by using your Apple ID for messaging (and Facetime) purposes.
I hope that this works for you, Todd!   ~ Brian

  • HT1694 The text has disappeared from my emails in my inbox. What can I do to get the text back?

The text has disappeared from my emails in my inbox. What can I do to get the text back?

Try closing the Mail app via the taskbar and see if the email text shows when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't fix it they try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • How to get 'My Alerts' emails

    Hi All,
Im really sorry if this question has been asked before, but i couldnt locate one in my search.
About a month ago i went to all my favorite Artists' pages and clicked the 'Alert Me' link. When i go to 'Manage My Alerts' I have several artists selected to receive email alerts about. I even have the 'Send me email alerts about artists i've previously downloded' however i haven't once received any alert emails and I know that the artists i have selected have brought out new material. I know i can recieve emails from Apple because i get receipts all the time and i have checked my spam folder, but nothing
I have tried contacting Apple but i only get a response telling me to download the latest version of itunes (which i am using) and go to Manage My Alerts.
    What am i doing wrong??
Any help would be greately appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Emma

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, Emma! I find the Alert emails to be very sporadic at best, too. A month or 2 may go by with nothing and then 1 or 2 in a week.

  • JDBC PL/SQL exception not shown in System Alert email

    Hi expert,
The PL/SQL exception caught in the communication channeli  do not show up in the alert emails.  What could be  the reason behind it?
We configured the SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRLINES to capture the error message in alert category and configured the alert rule accordingly also. The system alert mail is show as below:
If that is the PL/SQL error(Adapter Framework exception: null):
    Adapter type: JDBC
Error text from the Adapter Engine:
If that is the exception captured in Adapter Framework, not PL/SQL error:
    Adapter type: JDBC
Error text from the Adapter Engine: Error when attempting to get processing resources: com.sap.aii.af.lib. util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled res ource: DriverManagerException: Can not establish connection:: SQLExcep tion: ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist IBM AIX RISC System/6000 Error: 2: No such file or direc tory
Is that because the system alert only can print out the detail error message captured in Adapter Framework? Is there any way to capture all of the possible errors in adapter engine?

    Hi Ruby,
Please use the container variable  "SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT" in your alert category configuration to get the error text from Adapter Engine.
The details of the container variable can be found at this link:

Would Like to Get Report of Daily Emails In and Out from Members to a DL
    Exchange version : 2007
I am the supervisor for the group and want to quantify this information. I do not need to see the content, just quantity
    is it possible ?

Well, distribution groups don't really have a concept of "in" or "out". They only serve to distribute messages sent to them -- unless you're asking to know who was a member of the distribution group at the time a message was sent to the DL.
Message tracking logs hold the information you want, though. You'd have to look for EXPAND events that reference the distribution group and take the sender's e-mail address from that event. If the DL is a simple one that's not a member of any other groups
you could also look for RECEIVE events sent to the e-mail address of the group and get the sender's name from that event.
You can use Powershell extract the rows of data from the logs, but you'll have to write the code to get the data out of those rows and into a format you want. Perhaps LogParser could be useful in place of Powershell?

  • How can I make the Sharepoint List Alert email format more readable?

    Hi,
Been wrestling with the issue for a while now. I have a list on my company's Sharepoint site online. I have configured this list to send alerts every morning for all the new list entries that have come in the previous day. Unfortunately, the emails are very
hard to read as they don't do a good job at all of distinguishing columns. There is no border or gradient separation between the data in one column vs. another in the email. This might have been OK, but the column headers appear in the middle of the text box
for the column. I previously used an on-premises version of sharepoint and this wasn't an issue, the alerts would come out very clean.
Is the alert format a function of the theme we chose (basic theme, no gradient, etc.)? I can look into changing my company's theme if that is the case. If not, is there a way to change the format of a specific alert?
    Thank you for your help.

I am afraid there is no way to change the alert format in SharePoint Online. The AlertTemplates.xml file is present in physical hive folder of SharePoint in Template\XML directory. And in SharePoint Online, you are not allowed to changes the physical file.
Secondly, all of the styles related to alert are present in this file, so changing the theme on the site won't have any effect. In fact I did test it with several different themes just to make sure there isn't any change in run time and every time the format
    remained same.
    Thanks,
    Nadeem

  • How to find out who's texting you from an iCloud email address?

how to find out who's texting you from an icloud email address?

OK after a bit of research I found a way to achieve this.
I simply looked up the email address in ADUC, then did a search in SP with the display name. I could locate the list and manually confirm it was configured with the incoming email address I was looking for.
I also found the below script on Stackoverflow, but got "The 'using' keyword is not supported in this version of the language." when I tried to run it. Any idea how to fix that? I'd like to have a script to link a library to an email address istead of the
    manual approach described above.
