Rich text data

I have a VARCHAR2 column which is populated in apex4.0 using a Rich Text editor. I have a stored procedure(using xml code, htp.p) to download the data to xls. But the formatting for this column like bold, italics etc., does not show up in spreadsheet. The spreadsheet shows bold etc only for the data which is defined with xml tags in the stored procedure .
Can someone help me how to preserve formatting of the column data in the .xls file?
Thanks,

Hi,
External content types are made up of fields whose types are a subset of the primitive types of .NET. For each such .NET type, a rudimentary mapping to SharePoint’s field controls exists, describing a field’s visual appearance. Fields of type string for
instance will, on the new and edit forms, render as a single-line text field. With regular lists, using the browser interface, you can easily turn a string field into a multi-line text area or a Rich Text field, but not so with external lists. At least not
unless your forms are InfoPath-based.

  • Transferring rich text data including graphics on sockets

    hi,
I am developing a cyber classroom.I have developed server and client applications and also a chat server is provided for students.
I have just started working on java so i have some problem.
Please tell me how can i transfer rich text data including graphics on sockets from server to client. The data is to be read from JTextPane.
    Please solve my problem.
    I shall be very thankful.

You can use java.io.ObjectOutputStream and java.io.ObjectInputStream.
On server side you should do:
    ObjectOutputStream out =
    new ObjectOutputStream(serversocket.getOutputStream())
On client side you should create the input:
    ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(socket.getInputStream())
Throwgh those streams you can transfer java.lang.Object instances if your objects' classes implements interface java.io.Serializable.
I hope this post will helps you.

  • Pass rich text string from webdynpro java into interactive form

    Hi, experts:
I know rich text-related questions have been asked by many other forum member.
But I still cannot figure out how to display rich text string in the interactive form.
below code is set rich text string in my webdynpro program.

    or
    wdContext.currentDataForPDFElement().setDescription("<p>20100730 0950</p><h1><strong>test1</strong><br /></h1>");
Text field in the interactive form has been assign "Field Format" to "Rich Text", "Data Format" to "XHTML".
I also check XML in the "XML source" tab of interactive form.

  • Rich Text Box Issue - Expand to show all Text

    Hi everyone
I'm having a pretty frustrating issue with the rich text box when viewing a line item (not when editing the item, but viewing the item)
I want my rich text box to expand with the text, which I have changed in the options on InfoPath with the "Expand to show all text" scrolling option. However, in IE, the table row will expand, but the actual rich text box will not and I'll have
a scroll bar there and you cant see all of the text at one time. If I look in Chrome, then it works the way I want and I can see all of the lines of text that were entered into the rich text box.
The only solution for IE to work correctly is to change the Display settings to "Enable enhanced rich text content...". But the big issue with that is now you can no longer highlight the text (the highlight disappears right after highlighting it),
and the users will need to copy text from the text box, so it renders the "enhanced" rich text box useless for us
It's kind of a lose-lose situation that I'd love to find the solution for

I guess a better solution would be how can you highlight text from an enhanced rich text box, because changing these to "rich text box" gets rid of font colors in the pre-existing data.
The original problem was that they couldn't highlight text unless they went into edit mode

  • Rich text output?? Using FormattedTextEdit Element in NW 7.02

So SAP now gives us a cool element that allows users to input text using a limited number of formatting options (bold, italics, header size 1/2/3, Indent, bullet).
We currently use interactive forms to print out several different project forms. However, mgmt really wants to display this rich text on the PDF.
Searching high and low, there apparently is no good way to display formatted text in adobe interactive forms.
We thought about just building the output form as a WDA application - however, this presents other problems such as page breaks.
Does anyone out there know of a way to get formatted text out of SAP onto a PDF/other form output?

    Thomas,
Thanks for the reply. We've had success in the past (NW 7.00) with passing those SAPScript text objects to Adobe for formatting.
Is this only available for interfaces define as data dictionary? I don't see the option to create a TEXT node in WDA when my interface is defined as XML-based.
We have become heavily invested in AIF, and it's hard to imagine that something as simple as RTF can't be easily rendered somehow outside SAP. We were hoping that with 7.02, an easier method would be available.

  • Can I display rich text in a textfield?

I've created a form in LiveCycle Designer and there is a text field that is retrieving data from a table. The data in this field is entered from a ColdFusion form and its using the Rich Text Editor in the form. Because of this, the data that is displaying in the text field of the pdf looks like this:
    <p>This is a comment.</p>
Is there any way for the text field to show the data with the proper formatting?  I've gone in to the field tab of the object and selected Rich Text for the Field Format but it doesn't help.

Ok, I've added a new field which has a bind name called FieldA.
I click on the ConditionFound field  and open the script editor. I choose calculate and enter the following:
    ConditionFound.value.exData.loadXML(FieldA.rawValue,1,1);
    I save the form.
When I open the pdf from the link on my app, the FieldA field displays: <p>This is a test entry.</p> which it gets from the database.
The ConditionFound field is still blank.

  • InfoPath form, rich text fields, "There was a form postback error" InvalidOperationException, There has been an error while processing the form

Using InfoPath 2013 browser enabled form.
I am getting the above error on ALL Infopath Designed Rich Text fields, where the "Cannot be blank" attribute is set.
To reproduce it, I create a custom list and custom list form with InfoPath 2013. I add 2 Rich Text fields and enable "cannot be blank". To raise the error, I put some data in the RT field. Skip to another field (so focus is changed and a postback
occurs), then back to original field to delete the contents (to raise the validation).
I originally thought it was associated with the HTMLCHKR.DLL not being registered (and I have re-registered it just in case), but the exception I get from the ULS logs reads (it is from a list AFTER I have re-registered the DLL):
    There was a form postback error. (User: 0#.w|myDomain\jc, Form Name: Template, IP: , Request: h t t p ://MyWebApp/MySite/Lists/rtAfterHtmlCHkrReg/Item/newifs.aspx?List=2212ff41-77b4-445b-931b-d7e538c9da91&Source=h t t p://MyWebApp/MySite/Lists/rtAfterHtmlCHkrReg/AllItems.aspx&RootFolder=&Web=3db49106-bdca-47bb-b4cd-a549d2d86aa7,

I noticed that errors associated with the HTMLCHKR.DLL not being registered would have some sort of COM exception (example: TYPE_E_LIBNOTREGISTERED or REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)
I also should mention that this problem started happening about 3 weeks ago. We have extended the web application to handle HTTPS on the intranet zone (we had a reverse proxy project that did not eventuate) - would that cause something? How can I do further
    checking?

    Hi,
I have done a test in my SharePoint, and I met the same issue with you.
I created a custom list and custom list form with InfoPath 2013. I added 2 Rich Text fields and enabled "cannot be blank".  I put some content in the RT field, then delete the contents, I got the error message:"there has been an
    error while processing the form."
Here is a similar post said that executing the command: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\
    OFFICE14\htmlchkr.dll" will solve the issue.
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/eb2e0f6e-c8e4-4e92-ac5e-a09d72759eda/rich-text-field-error-in-webform?forum=sharepointcustomizationprevious
But I just disabled "cannot be blank", and it solved the issue.

  • Urgent help needed in Rich Text Functionality in BSP (Bold, Italic, etc)

The standard Appraisal BSP (HAP_DOCUMENT) displays the documents in a plain text box
Scenario - Standard  BSP application HAP_DOCUMENT for appraisals provides users to input in plain text boxes (htmlb textedit)
However, there is requirement to support rich text (bold, italicised, underline etc) for these text boxes. Basically, there are 3 aspects to  this scenario
    1. Enable these plain textboxes with rich text editor
    2. Store the rich text contents of text  boxes in Database table
    3. Convert and display the data stored in db table as rich text.

Note that the previous reference to tokens only applies if the field is a Multiline text field. Regular fields can't change their font or display based upon mapping data.

  • Open xml relationship target is NULL when inserting chart into a mapped rich text content control in Word 2013

    Hi,
I have a word document with a rich text content control that is mapped to a CustomXml. You can download an example here
    http://1drv.ms/1raxoUr
I have looked into the specification ISO/IEC 29500-1:2012 and i understand that the attribute Target for the element Relationship can be set to NULL at times(Empty header and footer in the specification).
Now, i have stumbled on Target being NULL also when inserting a diagram into a word document. For example:
    <Relationship Id="rId3" Type="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships/oleObject"
    Target="NULL" TargetMode="External" xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/package/2006/relationships" />
Why is Target="NULL" and how should i interpret that Target is null?
    Br,
    /Peter
    Peter

    Hello Peter,
The relationship in question is associated with the externalData element (ISO/IEC 29500-1:2012 §21.2.2.63). For the other two charts in this document, the corresponding relationships are of the other allowable form:
      <Relationship Id="rId3" Type="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships/package" Target="../embeddings/Microsoft_Excel_Worksheet1.xlsx"/>  <Relationship Id="rId3" Type="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships/package" Target="../embeddings/Microsoft_Excel_Worksheet2.xlsx"/>
For charts 1 and 3 in your document, the data can be edited via the Chart Tools ribbon control. The option to edit data is not available for chart 2. The data used to create chart 2 is the same default spreadsheet data used for chart 1, and in fact the spreadsheet
references are still present in the file format, despite there being no apparent link to a spreadsheet for chart 2.
Thus, it appears that Target="NULL" in this context means that the chart is not associated with an external data source. The specification doesn't have much to say about the semantics of the Target attribute (ISO/IEC 29500-2:2012 §9.3.2.2) beyond
the fact that it be a valid xsd:anyURI, which the string "NULL" is.
It looks like there is some unexpected interaction between the chart and the content control. I don't think the file format is the issue. You will probably need to pursue that behavior from the product perspective via a support incident, if that behavior
is unexpected. If you still have questions about what is seen in the file format, please let me know.
    Best regards,

  • Need to have a Rich Text Editor

I require to use a Rich Text Editor where in I can copy both text and attachments (word/excel/pdf) from an email (Outlook or Lotus Notes) and have that stored into an Oracle table.
The text that is copied must go into a CLOB column in the database whereas the attachments should be stored as a BLOB.
My preference is copying the complete data (text and attachments) in one go but if that is not possible then copying the text and attachments separately would do.
Also there is no limit on the number of attachments that might be there.
Any solution using Java / Oracle would be greatly appreciated.

How can i convert or process it to get the correct formatted text like above in output.
    Thanks,

Follow the process outlined in this blog post: https://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/entry/formatting_html_with_templates
With Oracle BI Publisher 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.6) release you have support for HTML formatting in data..
Here is an excerpt from the report designer's guide.
Support for HTML Formatting in Data
You can now convert stored XHTML to XSL-FO to display the HTML formatting from your data in your generated report. The XHTML data must be extracted wrapped in a CDATA section. Specific syntax must also be used in the RTF template to render it.
    Thanks,
