Ridiculous!!! We need a MAC to use Application Loader to upload our apps to the AppStore??

Apparently, Apple has recently changed their appstore upload procedures and now require developers to use their Application Loader software to upload the binary files to appstore - which is only available on a MAC.  is there any way a Windows developer and upload an app using a PC?

The change was over ten months ago. Prior to that the first part of the review process would involve checking for incorrect use of private API calls, and so on. Now the Application Loader does a good amount of verifying of the app, and can tell you what's wrong with it, which has to be better than you waiting a couple of weeks to only find that you had something wrong in the file.
Some people are using VM setups on WIndows to run OSX, just to run Application Uploader. See pages like this one:
http://lifehacker.com/5583650/run-mac-os-x-in-virtualbox-on-windows
Or, check amongst all of your colleagues and family, there is a chance that someone within not too bad commuting distance from you uses a Mac.
Another option would be to spend $700 to get one of these:
http://www.apple.com/macmini/
That may seem like a small fortune, but you could easily spend more than that you to get a decent Android tablet to test on.

If possible, could you please PM the packaged IPA file, all 3 ANEs which you have used in your project to help us investigate the issue further?

  • Is there a way in iPhone 5s to use the touch ID to purchase the apps in the AppStore only?

I want the iPhone not to be blocked but I'd like to use the touch id in the AppStore instead of the apple account password...

Ok, thanks but I think I wasn't completely clear, sorry... What I meant was that I want to use the touch Id to purchase the apps in the AppStore, but I don't want the iPhone to be locked at all, with no touch id and no 4 digits passcode, just because I don't want my friends to come to ask me to unlock my phone every time they want to play with it, take a picture or something... Sorry for the misunderstanding, but anyway, can this truly incredible device do such a simple thing or not?

  • I need a mac, but I dont know if I should wait for the new OS X 'leopard'

I dont have a mac yet, but I was looking at the new OS and the Time machine feature really caught my attention. Being a design student this could be the feature ive been waiting for. I just dont know I f I should wait for 'leopard' to be released or not. I really nee the computer now, but I dont want to pay extra to upgrade to 'leopard' later on. The web-site doesnt specify when It will be released, I was wondering If anyone knew If its a couple of weeks or months?
This would help me make an easier decision.

    iMacs that shipped with
    Tiger still boot Jaguar
Bollocks! While they'll boot specifically compiled
versions of Darwin they will not boot Jaguar from a
boxed retail version or any version of Jaguar that
    came with a Mac.
the iMac G5 will simply not boot any version of
Jaguar that came from Apple retail.
Bollocks! is right , you're absolutely wrong. My iMac which came with Tiger still boots retail Panther quire easily.
The tiger I was referring to, on my MBP is the Darwin 10.3 version recompllied to suport Intel. Yes i agrre that a newer Intel based system won't boot an older PPC based DVD, I should hope not. But thats because of PPC vs Intel NOT some supposed policy from Mac
I'm not sure where you get anything to support your statements since from the time That Intel based macs shipped with Panther there was no retail version of Tiger available for Intel, since then there has been no release of a new OS X so where are you even geting your so called "facts" from? Prior to that we were talking about PPC based Macs which most definitely ran prior version, in fact my old Powerbook which shipped with Tiger runs Jaguar and 10.2 and 10.1 as well.
While not officially noted, not that I'm aware of at
least, this has been Apple policy for quite some
time. While sure, you can get a Mac to use many
things it wasn't "meant" to although that doesn't
    mean one should.
That's just plain wrong on so many levels..
So where are your use cases to support your made up policy?
{i] If you look back at each successive Mac OS X upgrade
from Jaguar and look at the systems that spanned the
release of the newer OS. In each case, even though
the hardware was exactly the same, those systems that
shipped with the newer OS failed to boot and install
from the discs of the exact same system that had the
older version OS. Yes there were a few that did
although once Apple manufacturing caught up with
itself, which was normally a week or two, they
    didn't.{/i]
Just wrong again, Yes maybe if the hardware has changed to support some new device in the new Mac. The only way that would be true as if you factored in the change from PPC to x86 architecture. I have several machines which run retail versions of OSx back to 10.2, some even 10.1 on boxes that shpiped with Jaguar or even Tiger. And there are no firmware blocks that limit that. That is what you claim
Give us some examples of this "supposedly unstated policy" you seem to think is in effect.
INo… because you're not correct through simply not
referring to Apple retail versions of Mac OS X and
moreso, the implications of such advice infers that
one has full support for older OSs where they do
    not
Bottom line… if you want a system that runs Mac OS X
Tiger then buy one that comes with it..
First of all I never said that one has full suport for all old versions of OSX. I said there is NO policy in Firmware that prohibits newer OSX based machines from running older versions of OSX. But I think you're just basically overlooking the fact that in the cases you cite there were probably actual hardware progressions that made older retail version not see newer hardware. It wasn't some mysterious Firmware blocking as you claim. It was pure hardware progression.
By the way, what if someone follows your advice,
waits for Leopard and finds they need Tiger and can't
install it? What are you going to do beyond shrug you
shoulders and say "not your problem"?
Uhhh, if you read my post, I never said to do what you seem to think I said. I merely asked YOU to cite an example of this "policy" and firmware blocking, which you haven't done yet BTW, cause I think you're wrong and I don't think its a policy to block, as you suggest, in firmware, a previous OS version for every new hadware version shipped with a new software version.
When Leopard ships on a C2D MBP you will not have to worry about that MBP not running retail Tiger. It certainly won't have some mysterious firmware block on booting Tiger after some mysterious two week period as you claim. Now if there is a NEWER revision with newer hardware that ships with Leopard there may be an issue with a currently available version of Tiger because it doesn't support the new hardware. It won't be , as you claim, some unstated policy manifested in firmware that prevents Tiger from installing.
So lets just end this here and now cause its a waste of people's time and my posts weren't claiming that if you need tiger don't buy a machine with Leopard on it, as you seem to think I was saying. What I said and stand by is this. There is no unwritten or written policy that has Apple blocking previous versions of its OS X in new hardware shipped with new software via firmware. Unless tha actual hardware contains devices that the prior version of OSX was unaware of. That's all I was pointing out. Somehow you stretched this into something completely different.

  • I used Roboform on Windows and have tried the Mac version.  Is there a comparable or at least an effective app in the AppStore?

The Mac version didn't seem to work as well as the Windows version but that may have been the result of transferring data from W to Mac. The sync function is useful.  There are a lot of apps in the App Store  are any of them as good as Roboform?
The passwords are in a Roboform data file in documents transferred from Windows but don't appear when I select the Roboform icon.  I don't know how to transfer them within the Mac platform.

There is a version for Mac, from their web site...
    •Mac Password Manager - RoboForm:

There also is an iOS version, see downloads.
Hopefully this is what you are asking about.

  • Force detection using Application Loader - PROBLEM

I have never had my 8220 flip connected to any computer and it has the JVM 545 error.  I have printed out the directions from this web site on how to do the force however after double clicking the application loader I have 2 options either update or add/remove, and either option gives me the same problem, it cannot detect the blackberry attached (because the battery is out), my only option then is cancel, not okay, so what now?
    Thanks

    Hello Kadscoz,
I would suggest you try to use the Web-Based software loader as outlined in this post. If this doesn't work, try it on another computer if you have access to one.  It sounds like the computer isn't detecting the BlackBerry.

  • Applications loading and running in background all the time

Lately my Macbook Pro seems to be running apps in the background and installing. It makes the working noises the Macbook makes when the processors are working. Quite often when I shut it down it asks me if I want to abort installation. I keep having to manually remove 'com.wondershare.mobilegodaemon' from the Console, but it comes right back when I reboot. You didn't do it right, it seems. For the future, follow proper uninstall procedures:
    How to uninstall software
As for where the remaining files that didn't get removed are located, I have no idea. The fact that you are able to temporarily disable it with launchctl says at least one of them will be in one of the LaunchAgents or LaunchDaemons folders on your computer, either in the root-level Library folder or the invisible one in your user folder (hold down option and choose Library from the Go menu in the Finder to open that one). However, for all I know there may be other files related to Wondershare located elsewhere as well.
Rather than randomly hunting around for these files, I'd recommend looking for the official Wondershare uninstaller and trying that. You may need to reinstall it in order to remove it at this point, since you only have a partial install left.
I have run Adwaremedic and I have run Mackeeper to no avail.
AdwareMedic will not remove Wondershare, because that's not adware. AdwareMedic only removes adware.
MacKeeper is garbage that should never be used. You need to remove that immediately! For more on why, see:
