Roadside Assistance Removal

How do I remove roadside assistance from a phone under my plan? It does not show up on the add/remove portion when looking at accounts features.

If you can't remove it yourself via your on-line My Verizon account, you could call Customer Service and have them remove it.

  • Do you remember Roadside Assistance option when purchasing iphone? Hustled?

When I first got my iphone, there was all this paperwork... at one point there was a question as to whether or not I wanted to sign up for roadside assistance. A premium AAA member, there was no chance I would be interested. A couple months into my iphone ownership, I noticed on my ATT bill that i was signed up for the darn roadside assistance! costing me like 3$ a month. I immediately cancelled it. One month ago, I noticed that I was still being charged for f'in roadside assistance! Has anyone else been erroneously charged for this roadside assistance service? the charge is hidden way at the bottom of the bill? Being conspiracy theory hobbyist, I naturally suspected a widespread fraudulent charge, with some chump, cleaning up on 100's of 1000's of $3 charges each month... Anyone?
Hmm now that I think about it, it wouldnt have to be a very widespread hustle to be making a pretty fat paycheck for some fellow... only 10,000 such "errors" and our hustler is pullin in an extra $30,000 per month. I could sure use that, how bout you?

    verbal.kint,
It is not an option you can select during the iPhone activation process. However, if you activated a different AT&T or Cingular phone at an AT&T Store before getting the iPhone they may have signed you up for it.
The details of the service are here:
    http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-phone-service/services/serviceDetails.jsp?skuId =sku1040055
You can have it removed by calling AT&T. If it remains on your bill, only AT&T can remove it, and I would follow-up with AT&T.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Verizon Roadside Assistance Is Not Worth the Money

Shortly before 6pm last night, my car stalled out on a busy street in the middle of Los Angeles. I called roadside assistance, which I have paid for for years. The horrible service started immediately.
    1. The operator picked up quick enough, and seemed alarmed when I told her I had stalled in the middle of traffic. I gave her my location, both address and cross streets, immediately. However, ten minutes into the call, she still hadn't ordered the tow. Instead she asked more and more info about my account - only when I asked the status of the tow did she put me on hold to order it. (silly me, I thought that she has processed this while we were talking).
    2. When she got back on the line, she told me a tow would take 90 minutes. In the middle of Los Angeles. When I said this was unreasonable, she placed me on hold, and came back to say she may be able to have one to me in 30-45 minutes.
    3. Still another 90 minutes later, I get a call that the tow truck arrived and couldn't find me -- it was sent to the wrong address. The VZ rep, when informed of this, acknowledged it was their error.
Alas, the tow driver told me his garage was just a couple blocks away, which explains why they called this garage... but not why, when hearing of a 90 minute delay, Verizon didn't find an alternative. Like AAA would do.
I have cancelled Roadside Assistance, and signed up for AAA like I should have done years ago.

AAA is an inexpensive way to go...

  • Roadside Assistance Customer Service -- THE WORST!!!!

DO NOT under any circumstance waste your money getting the ATT Roadside Assistance Plan. Their Customer service is THE WORST that I have ever experienced!! I called and waited 40 MINUTES, just to talk with someone.  It then took another 15 minutes of being put on and off hold for them to tell me that it was going to be 70 MINUTES before the tow truck was going to show up.  I never received any kind of confirmation number, and fortunately I asked for the towing service phone number.  When I called the towing service to confirm the real time, they told me that they did not receive any work order from ATT for the service!  I called back ATT Customer Service, and waited ANOTHER 30 MINUTES just to speak with someone AGAIN.  They then proceeded to tell me that there was NOTHING IN THEIR SYSTEM!!   I then had to go over all of the same information that I gave to them 2 HOURS AGO!!  They still did not give me any confirmation number.  I asked to speak with a Supervisor, who I asked to give me an email address for a Manager.  She put me on HOLD AGAIN.  I am STILL on hold and my call has been over an hour.  I do not think that they are going to pick up my call.  The tactic of making me wait until I give up and hang up is ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ANYONE CAN RECEIVE.  DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS TERRIBLE SERVICE!!

It is NOT the unusual circumstance. ATT/Allstate Roadside assistance has,  in the last two years, been able to complete a service request, and has TWICE left the stranded in the middle of nowhere. The second was TODAY, August 10, 2015. The staff is incompetent. When called out on their inability to read a map, and solve the problem, they put you on hold, and then some message about "Not receiving calls at this time," comes on, then you are cut off. I was on hold for 45 minutes this morning by RICKY in the Arizona call center (I was in the very center of Texas), he could not find a service center in the town nearest me, because there WAS no town. Just a long-closed general store. Finally, he found the town 8.8 miles from my location (I had to help with my iPhone GPS), three places, only one could do the tow, and then, only in two hours. That towing company was only FOUR MILES from my location. There is no Toyota dealership there. It was 70 miles from my home. He advised that I would have to pay a $29 out-of-pocket because of the distance. I asked if he could call Cameron, TX, my destination, only 16 miles away. That way, I might make it to hearing that was scheduled, or only be fashionably late. He huffed up. I DID take a tone with him. I told him that he would be solely responsible for keeping my business, as my previous encounter, June 2013, left me stranded, at midnight, in the West Texas ranch country, 18 miles from one town, and 22 from another, and they refused to help me then. So, Ricky, all hurt, I suppose, put my on hold, again. By this time, it had been 50m minutes. While he put me on hold the second time, I called again, but on my burner phone. I got the Ft. Worth, TX center. I explained what had transpired previously, still on hold for Ricky. THEN, I got the "no calls to this number" message, and Ricky cut me off. He should thank all the Saints in heaven that he is in Arizona. I continue with Karen in Ft. Worth. While she understands my ire at the current situation, she is of no more help. Karen tells me the same story about the our-of-pocket expense. No matter. I didn't want to be stranded in a one-horse town with no Toyota dealership, but consented to the tow and extra fee. AND, a two-hour wait for a tow company that was FOUR miles away. I got on the 4G network, weak signal and all, found and called a towing service in Temple, TX, some 35 miles away. The cost was MUCH more, but they would arrive 30 minutes before the ATT-recommended local knuckleheads, and would tow me to my dealership in Round Rock, TX, some 45 miles away. It cost me, but had I used ATT Roadside Assistance, and I use that term very loosely, I would have been stranded 75 miles from home, with a broken car, and a marginally-qualified shade-tree mechanic trying to fix a car that was out of his league (2008 Toyota Avalon). I paid, and I paid retail, but I got a real service. I'll be joining AAA, or Affinity Motor Club through Good Sam's this afternoon. ATT Roadside even accepts that they are no good. After the 2013 debacle, the Allstate Motor Club sent me $100 for my troubles. THEY ARE NOT GETTING OFF THAT LIGHTLY THIS TIME. I'll expect, as a minimum, $500, for four hours of lost work, which is a discounted rate, and a refund of ALL the premiums paid since I have been a member of this exortion program. l

  • Configure Offer remote assistance removes all helpers, then re-adds. Misconfiguration? Is there a better way?

Hi, my domain is at the 2008R2 functional level, and I have a group policy which configures the "offer remote assistance" setting (Computer Configuration>admin templates>System>Remote Assistance).  I have noticed some interesting
behavior, and I'd like to know if there's a more efficient way to do this:   Whenever this policy gets applied, it seems as if it removes all individuals from the "Offer Remote Assistance" group, then re-adds them.  I notice this because
when I update the group policies on the clients, I see security log event 4733 (removing the account from the "offer remote assistance group") for each defined helper, then see security log event 4732 (adding the account to the "offer remote
    assistance group") for each helper.
Is there a better way to accomplish this without adding and removing the accounts from the "offer remote assistance" group every time the policy is refreshed?
I ask because I'm using a SIEM for logging privileged account usage or membership changes, and the hundreds of events per day are a bit noisy.
As always, any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    > the "apply without changes" setting that Martin mentioned?
Check http://gpsearch.azurewebsites.net/#329 - enable this and do not
set "apply without changes". But be aware that regardless of what you
configure, security policies WILL apply every 16 hours or so in the
background. That's a hard coded value and behavior, and this applies
    only to security settings.

  • BootCamp Assistant removed all partitions

When I first installed Windows 7 using BootCamp Assistant it formated the disk as DOS FAT (32). I wanted to change that to NTFS. So I launched BootCamp Assistant, selected Remove Windows, and proceeded to remove the BootCamp partition. The dialog box stated that my disk would be restored to a single partition. That done I ran BootCamp Assistant again to try and re-install Windows. But it said my disk could not be used to boot. So I ran Disk Utility from a network recover session and discovered that BootCamp had left my disk with only a single DOS FAT(32) parition! My OS X was completely gone and now I can't do anything with my laptop. Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there some way I can reset the partition type without erasing the disk and recover OS X without having to do a complete restore?

You failed to read the Boot Camp documentation (specifically the part about using the Windows install disk to format the partition as NTFS), did you read the part about making a backup before you do this?
Reboot, hold the option key down when you hear the chime, hold it down until the boot manager loads, select the Mac drive to boot from, if there is no Mac drive and you have no backup then reinstall Lion from the recovery partition (cmd-r) if that is toasted it gets harder, post back.

  • Boot Camp Assistant removing partition stalled?

I had created a FAT partition for Windows on my MBP when first setting up this new machine. I am trying to use Boot Camp Assistant now to remove the partition and it says "Partitioning Disk" with the barber pole going (though no progress shown).
It's been about two hours now and it's very hard to tell if anything is really happening. Both the Mac OS and Windows partitions are still mounted on the desktop, and the Windows partition still has all its files and folders available to browse through and copy. I can even copy files to and from the Windows drive.
So I have to imagine that it's safe to kill this Boot Camp Assistant process?

So I have to imagine that it's safe to kill this Boot Camp Assistant process?
I hope that you have a backup for the HD. Killing the process could make the HD unreadable. It is an extensive process to recover the HD involving use of another Mac.

  • Removing an unused modem from my account - how can I do this???

I can't use the chat function and I can't find anywhere on the website what steps I need to take to remove a modem device from my bill - it hasn't been used in months and I no longer have need of it and it's no longer under any contract. I don't need to suspend it or upgrade it, I just need to remove it - how can I do this and why is it so hard to get instructions on this?

This is in response to the message reply to my request for assistance removing
an unused modem from my account. The question was asked as to why I was removing
the modem. The reason for the cancellation, as stated, is that I no longer have
need of the modem. It is not because I have an alternate internet solution, it
is because I no longer need the solution that the modem was providing. There is
no benefit for me keeping the modem and I wish to cancel.
    Other requested information:
    Name: Jean S
    Mobile Number: 954-xxx-xxxx
Task desired: remove unusued modem device tied to number 954-xxx-xxxx from my

  • My sites have been hacked and hostgator has told me to "Disable javascript - Use the firefox addon noscript" and I don't know how to. Are all updates always sent to me as that was another point made to prevent hackers? Thanks you. David. in English

What are malicious scripts and what causes them? Over the years hackers found it hard to trick people into visiting suspicious sites so they're now targeting legit sites and using them to infect unknowing customers. In most cases an FTP account's password is obtained through key logging malware, then legit website files are modified to distribute the malware and gather more passwords. If your PC has been infected with one of these trojans, your bank account, email accounts, and FTP accounts may no longer be secure. * What to do if you find malicious scripts 1. Use the following online vulnerability scanner and ensure your software is up-to-date: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/?task=load 2. Download antivirus and fully scan your PC for malicious files. Here are some free online scanners: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml 3. Update all passwords that may have been obtained. Do not use old passwords, generate new ones. 4. Upload older versions of the files or contact support for assistance removing the malicious scripts. * Prevention - Ensure you use the latest browser version - Disable javascript - Use the firefox addon noscript - Download and install some free antivirus software, make sure it stays updated - Use http://www.avg.com.au/index.cfm?section=avg&action=onlinescan to test suspicious links you are given in emails or find online. If you are seeing a Google Attack Page when you visit the site, use the steps below to request that Google reindex the site and hopefully remove this block. This excerpt was copied from the URL below, and provides step by step instructions to request a delisting. http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=45432 Once you have reviewed your site and are sure it is clean, you can can submit a request for review. On the Overview page, click Request a review and follow the instructions. Best regards, Tyler Evans Network Security Administrator HostGator.com LLC http://support.hostgator.com

    Thank you.
I also had tried other means of getting answers and got an even more specific answer on just how to do this.  Below is the link to the actual knowledgebase article giving specific instructions since there are some files that need to be on the Palm and some on the card, etc.
    http://support.laridian.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=380&ratingconfirm=...
I emailed Zondervan to see if they might be able to direct me to a downloadable manual.  The referred me to laridan.com who now supports their software.
I followed the instructions, taking into account some things that were already where they needed to be, hot synced it and it seems to be working fine with 7.8 M free space on my Palm which I trust is enough for my other very large applications.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Problem when trying to rename uploaded images using session value

    Hi,
I have a form where 9 images are uploaded made into thumb nail size and then stored in a file. What I´m trying to do is rename those thumbnails from their original name to username_0, username_1, username_2 etc for each of the 9 thumbs. The username comes from the registration form on the same page. I have created a session variable for the username and am trying to use that to change to name of the image name, whilst my images are uploading and resizing the name stays as the original and not as the new username_$number. I have pasted relevant code below and would very much appreciate any help with this:

    Use double quotes here:

    Change it to this:
    $newname = str_replace ('name', "$username_$number", $name);

  • I was good to you - too bad you weren't good to me!

I am a long time faithful (on time) bill paying Verizon wireless customer with 5 lines. I have had a huge complaint with several issues this past month, and called customer service. After playing the game "try to find the customer service number on our website--we hide it well"/ I tried to make the call discreetly from work. I spoke to a rep Tawny. She lied beautifully!! She promised me a credit for your horrible roadside assistance program. (THE WORST LEFT STRANDED FOR 3.5 hours AND THEN ROBBED!) and all of your partners --your cell phone manufacturers provide CHEAP , easily breakable, paper thin, poor quality, overpriced phones. When your overpriced otterboxes break, and you don't trust your hidden-trick-insurance plans, so you stop purchasing THOSE, WELL, then you are left with FOUR BROKEN PHONES AND NO MORE UPGRADES> what a scam. ANYWAY, Tawny promised that a supervisor would call to finalize my four new uprgrades by the end of the day! Oh joy, a customer like me, loyal, into this company for about 50k, was getting a fair shake, and going to be allowed to continue to pay $350-$400 a month for her cell phone service! Uh-oh, wait---fast forward to "This is a customer service survey..so I give: TEN, TEN TEN! Tawny was great!! etc etc." Next day. No call. No supervisor. No upgrade. I called back. This rep said maybe I should wait another day. I am of course in another state this time.)  Next day I call again. This rep says well if Tawny promised you that, then that will happen, my supervisor will listen to the tape and call you back. Guess what?? NO CALL BACK, but...interestingly, by my next call back, there are notes on my account that I DID receive a call back. NO WAY> I SAY check my records, you have my cell records, I have been carrying my cell around with me hoping for a call, and there has been NONE..Please, I give you my permission, check my phone records! MORE LIES> By now, I'm thinking, why is MY BOSS paying for Verizon's wasting my time >?? Terrible. More calls, more lies. More calls, different states, different FIRST NAMES or Customer REP numbers, Supervisors, NO CREDIT issued for horrific roadside 'service' Only option for early upgrades is for two of my lines and I could choose from only two phones. No thanks! I will spend more money anyway if I can choose from any phones, I just want a phone I can actually see the screen again. I want a MANAGER, not a rep or supervisor. This is IMPOSSIBLE. I have spent hours on hold, on the phone, being lied to, misled, aggravated, and very angry that I held up my end of the bargain for YEARS paying my bills on time, recommending Verizon, buying phones accessories and added services for multiple people and YOU do not value me enough to TELL ME THE TRUTH, listen to my (ONE  EVER, and it's a doozy) complaint and rectify this somehow, that would be very little skin off your teeth. YOU COULD HAVE KEPT FIVE CUSTOMERS! My kids will soon have separate accounts. All five of us will be with other service providers. Well done, Verizon, well done.

I'll try to help you out:
Turn the computer on, insert your osx disc and shut down the computer by holding down the power button. To boot from the disc hold down the option key on start up before the chime and select the oSX disc as start up disc. When it starts (it will take a minute or two) select the language and go to the Utilities menu at the top and open the disc utility. Select the hard drive from the column on the left and then select erase. Erase the disc and format it as OSX extended (journaled). Then quit the disc utility and restart the installer. That should get it going again. If you still cannot select the hard drive in the installer window quit the installer and run the disc repair utility. If it comes up as an unrepairable drive it is toast and you will have to replace it.
