Role , Menu and Display Priority

I have a Role A with a menu sequence, Sort Priority 100
and a Role B with another menu sequence Priority 50
User is having role A and B
But B is displayed in the navigation before A.
How can I influence the display sequence?

I had done this job successful.
In my opinion, workset was used for first level menu
usually, not role ,role is only a concept.
We need to sort the workset which will be display in first level menu in fact.
And "Sort Priority" of workset can take effect,
I had validated that.
And the similar situation occured in second level menu.

I know that's not going to work but I'm not sure how to get it to display on the screen short of putting the menu code into startApp which is not what i'm looking for as I'd have a lot of code filling that area up.
Not good programming practice.

Transporting role menu and workbook created diurectly in production system

Hi gurus,
We have several workbooks (and queries) that are created directly in production system. thoose workbooks are connected to a role that is created in development system and transported to production system.
Now, we would like modify this role in development then tranport it on production system, but we are afraid that will be wiped out (overwrite) our production system workbooks (because the role not contains this workbook in development).
Could you please explain to us what we have to do in order to not wiped out our production workbooks.

Exactly, to have all my requests and workbook in development, I tried to use "Transport order of copy (it means transport queries from Production system to development system)", then to connect them with the corresponding roles in development, but I have the think that BW considers them as new requests when I re-transport them again on the prod.)
Could you say me if i can transport my production system queries on my development system, and manage them in this system (development) in the future.

Editing the BW Frontend User Role Menu

Hi All,
I am struggling to identify where it is possible to modify the front end role menu on the web. We currently have a web page which launches once the user as logged in. It displays our company logo in the left hand corner and then shows (user specific) roles with a drop down option to display the queries available within those roles.
This page has obviously been customised at some point in time in our system but no one can seem to remember how it was done (our original project team is long gone). It has never caused an issue but it's not very attractive and we would like to improve it.
Does anyone know where to start? I suspect it is somewhere in SE80 but I don't know what or where.
I have found this thread (Access BW (web) role menu outside of the Portal) which points to two "how to" documents but one doens't work anymore and the other one points me to SE80 but seems to be not quite what I am looking for as it allows me to edit the screen which has the login details (rather than the menu once they have logged in).
Any help would be appreciated.

Open the webtemplate where your BW 3.5 rol menu resides. In the properties of the rol menu change the target frame to new page. --> I could not find setting called Target Frame in Role Menu BW3.5 WAD
Open the 7.0 WAD execute your template(s) and copy the full URL.
In PFCG select the object BEx Web Template and past the URL. Make sure you use the full space to past the URL - I am not able to find object BEx Web Template in PFCG transaction.
Now start/execute the old rol menu and click on the 7.0 report item you've created in PFCG. Now from the 3.5 role menu the new 7.0 report will be openend in a new window.
Can you please provide some screens which help me in understand properly.

In BW 7.0 Role Menu Web item will be replaced by the role-based display of BI content in SAP NetWeaver Portal. In addition to the pure Web-based display of BI content in roles, additional functions result from this, especially in regard to display and editing of any content in one environment.
You can still use the BW 3.x WAD role menu web item...

Role menus are displayed in portal and passwords becomes case sensitive.
The role menu web item is obsolete and doesn't show 2004s templates/queries. There is a core mod possible to make this happen, but is not recommended. Instead, use one of the publishing options from the blog. It gives you all the possible options.

NWBC - ESS Role menu order - Horizantal/Vertical

Hallo SCN,
I've created to TWO composite role from SAP standard but one role menu tab displayed horizontally.Please refer the screen shots. I need to display all Tabs vertically. May I know how to do it?

In PFCG edit the role and click the button Other Node Details then if you notice under the heading Folder Options there is a check box below that Single Top Level if you uncheck that you should see the Tabs displayed Vertically as you described.

Tranport role from Dev to Prod without overwriting role menu

Hi Experts,
We have users who have saved BW workbooks in the roles. They appear as transactions in the role menu. Now when we are transporting the roles the role menu is getting overwritten and all the workbooks are no more in the Role menu and so not visible to the users.
How can we transport the BW roles without overwriting the Role menu ? Please help

I doubt whether this is possible or not.... Well for instant damage control you look in change history to find out what was there in menu before?? And put them back as it was before.
For a permanent solution it is already suggested in earlier posts... that is to have a menu role concept used only for query, work book saving pupose and these are not getting transported in any case.

How to remove transaction that was added under Menu - Role Menu

We have roles that we need to remove some transactions.
These transactions were added under Menu - Role Menu and expanded for ex: Logistics and Picked Miro transaction.
When I go to PFCD and check under s_tcode I cannot remove Miro transactions since it's grayed out.
The only way to remove this is to go back to the Menu and do a find on miro and work through the menu until I get to Miro transaction and then delete it.
Is there another way to accomplish this.

This is the intended way a role built from a menu works. What might be the use of an authorization without any corresponding transaction to start it? It is only a risk...
Unless of course you know better or design differently and don't make the effort to adjust SU24, then you can insert manually or cause "changed" authorizations, but PFCG will not look at it from a "your own fault" view and not adjust it or protect it against illogical changes.
To use the discipline of the one approach but keep the flexibility of manual authorizations is not possible for S_TCODE, S_RFC and S_SERVICE objects (the entry points).

Using "Role Menu"

Hai Marc,
As u know that in "Business Explorer" there are "Web Application Designer". We are studiny that right now. But we have problem when we using one of web item "Role Menu".
My question is, if i create a template and devided into 2 coloms so then when i click the "role menu" the result appers in the other coloms.....is it posibble????

Hi,
you can use a frameset with 2 frames. One for the role menu and one for the content. Otherwise you can use "inline frames"! Dont forget to specify the name from the target (iframe or frame name) as Dirk said!

Its only an idea (i got no time to make nicer one). But all in all Frameset looks nicer! You can make cool designs if you want. Many things are possible.

Updating Role Menu.

Hi People,
In one of our customer site, Whenever we have to add transaction code to a role, instead of adding it to role menu we include it in S_TCODE and add corresponding objects manually. Now we would like to update role menu with the transaction codes that have been included in past in S_TCODE. Doing this task manually is tedious activity. Probably i would have to look at the table AGR_HIER and AGR_1251 and find the difference of transaction codes not updated in role menu and update them manually.
Is there anyway to generate role menu?

Hi Priyank,
I am aware of a litlle workaround, which you could consider.
1.
identify the profilename for which you want a role with corresponding menue. Either in PFCG->Tab authorizations or you could create a list of all of your roles with manual S_TCODE-authorizations by selecting AGR_1250 in SE16 with option OBJECT=S_TCODE and MODIFIED=U.
2.
Enter the profilename in SU02 and copy the profile to a new name.
Please pay attention to the popup you get, when you copy the generated profile into a manual profile. Do not perform any changes to the original role at this moment until you are finished....
3.
Activate the new manual profile (also in SU02 by pressing 'activate' twice).
4.
Go to SU25
5.
Start point 6
6.
Your new manual profile appears now in the list
7.
Generate a new role out of this manual profile with the options you desire.
8.
Maintain the authorizations in PFCG for the new role/profile
Done.
I hope this information helps a bit to avoid many manual steps....

Roster Role Menu Bug?

I was working with the roster class and role menu and I noticed that the sub menu for the roles list was not positioning correctly. After digging around I found this line in the CustomMenu.as class.
menu.show(pt.x + width - 7, Math.min(pt.y - 7, this.stage.height - menu.height - getStyle("bottomPadding")));
After debugging I realized that NaN was being sent into the menu.show function for the y position. This is b/c there is no bottomPadding, in fact I didnt know the property of bottomPadding existed. I believe the fix should be getStyle("paddingBottom")));
To work around this without having to change any code in the afcs source I simple added a style for the menu class
Menu
borderColors: #000000,#000000;
bottomPadding: 2;
That seems to do the trick.

Hi Sachin,
It doesn't care if you're using SAP_ALL or any of those profile. That is not relevant. I had that case a few days ago, I'm not using any of those profiles and I made it work with help of one post.
If you put the transactions in the tab "Menu" of the role in the PFCG, and if you activate parameters I mentioned in a prior post, then you should see the Menu.
Tables SSM_CUST and USERS_SSM. The first is global and the other is user-especific.
The link in one of the first post of this thread hace all the info.
That should work, that worked in my case.
What values the parameters have on those tables? The more the info the better.
Updating the parameters on those tables should help. If still doesn't work then you should check another parameter using transaction RZ10 or report RSPARAM.
If my info solves your problem, points are appreciated, if not, we will try...

Selection screen display after role menu selection

Hi,
I have strange situation:
- running a query on the WEB from Query Designer 3.5 first display a selection screen and then the data - what is OK or expected
- but we created an application in WAD with just role menu - if we pick the same query, from the same role - the query is displayed without selection screen. After that the variable screen can be displayed, but we needed before the query is actually displayed (some variable are filled with user exit on selection screen, ...)
Any idea?

How can I get the cursor's position in a opened file and display a menu?

Hello,
I want to make a program by which I will be able to display a panel/pops up menu at the corsor's current position, (In any text/doc file or in the desktop, we can display a menu by right click of the mouse.) Now I want my program to do the same task.
More clearly-
1. First I would save some words or sentences in a file(aa.txt).
2. Then I would open another text file/ a word/ excel/ or any other editor( bb.txt / cc.doc / dd.xls / ee.html ).
3. While editing or writing something in the opened file, if I click the right mouse button/ press a key (ctrl+space), a menu will appear containing the sentences I saved in the file(aa.txt) previously.
My program will tell me the cursor's position in bb.txt / cc.doc / dd.xls / ee.html that i opened. And display a menu. my problem is not reading / writing in a file.
My problem is how can I get the cursor's position in a opened file display a menu at that position by a mouse/key action*.
Would you please help me on this regard.
