RollbackException using UserTransaction when calling EJB in separate server

I'm using WL 6.1 on Solaris and am calling a stateless session EJB that
          is running in a separate server. I'm looking up the remote EJB using
          JNDI and calling through it's home interface. This works fine but if
          the client code begins a UserTransaction, then calls the EJB that's in
          the separate server, and then calls commit on the transaction, I get the
          following:
          weblogic.transaction.RollbackException: Aborting prepare because some
          resources could not be assigned - with nested exception:
          [javax.transaction.SystemException: Aborting prepare because some
          resources could not be assigned]
          The code that works looks like:
          rgData =
          HomeHolder.ROUTING_GUIDE_MGR_HOME.create().getResourceOptions(qd);
          whereas the code that fails is:
          UserTransaction transaction = new UserTransaction();
          transaction.begin();
          rgData =
          HomeHolder.ROUTING_GUIDE_MGR_HOME.create().getResourceOptions(qd);
          transaction.commit();
          If I put the EJB in the same server as the client, I don't get the
          exception so it seems to be related to running it in the separate server
          and using the UserTransaction. The deployment descriptor of the EJB
          states that it "Supports" transactions.
          Any ideas?
          Thanks,
          John

Yes, actually we are using:
          AppServerTransaction transaction = new AppServerTransaction();
          which is a wrapper which does what you say:
          Context ctx = new InitialContext(...); // connect to another WLS
          UserTransaction tx = (UserTransaction)ctx.lookup("java:comp/UserTransaction");
          and our HomeHolder does what you say as well:
          Homexxx home = ctx.lookup(...);
          Any ideas why surrounding the EJB call by a UserTransaction causes a problem when
          committing?
          Thanks,
          John

  • Form displays modeless despite being called using ShowDialog() when called in a separate thread

    I have a java application which loads a C++ dll in order to launch VB components.
    Recently the VB activex components were upgraded to C# .NET.But some of the activex components referenced within the C# dlls had to be retained as is.
    There were issues of the C# components  not being launched since the Activex components cannot be Instantiated
    in a Multi threaded Aparatment thread. Java as far as I know does not support single threaded apartments.
    So we had to create a new thread in the C++ dll (which acts like the interface between Java and C#) and then
    the components were launching properly.
    Now the issue is that even when the forms are being called using ShowDialog, the modality is lost.
    Does anybody know why this happens and a possible solution to the issue.

    Hello,
    It seems like this issue is similar to this one
    ShowDialog call of a windows form is not really modal when called from a java Application.
    Since we could not test it directly, I would recommend you try to call it by specifying the owner for that form.
    Regards.

  • EJBUtils.cloneObject(...) takes long time when calling EJB's

    hi,
    using OC4J 10.1.3 in windows XP.
    I have a servlet that calls a local stateless EJB (UserManagerBean) (2.1 version) and the EJB calls a second local stateless EJB (UserPersistorBean). The last one does a JDBC query and the result is returned to the servlet. The servlet call takes about 19.5 seconds (in my PC) to execute. Using a profiler, I have detected that EJBUtils.cloneObject(...) is called two times (one for each EJB) and it takes about 18 seconds (every time the servlet call is done, not only the first time !). The JDBC calls it only takes 1.171 seconds.
    here is the trace call showed in the profiler: (time is breaked down in each call)
    -servlet call time to execute= 19.500
    --UserManager_StatelessSessionBeanWrapper18.searchAll(Query)  time to execute= 19.500
    ----com.evermind.server.ejb.StatelessSessionEJBObject.OC4J_invokeMethod(MethodState, Object[], ThreadState) time to execute= 10.750
    ------com.nte.anthema.security.UserManagerBean.searchAll(Query) time to execute= 10.750
    --------UserPersistor_StatelessSessionBeanWrapper16.searchAll(Query) time to execute= 10.750
    ----------com.evermind.server.ejb.EJBUtils.cloneObject(Object, AbstractEJBHome) time to execute= 9.578 (related with UserPersistorBean)
    ----------com.evermind.server.ejb.StatelessSessionEJBObject.OC4J_invokeMethod(MethodState, Object[], ThreadState) time to execute= 1.171
    -------------com.nte.anthema.security.persistence.UserPersistorBean.searchAll(Query) time to execute= 1.171
    ----com.evermind.server.ejb.EJBUtils.cloneObject(Object, AbstractEJBHome) time to execute= 8.750 (related with UserManagerBean)
    Any idea why EJBUtils.cloneObject is executed every time these EJB are called ? I have other EJB's and EJBUtils.cloneObject(...) is not executed when that EJB's aree called.
    Any help ?
    Thanks !

    It seems that u need a ejbPostCreate with the same parameters as ejbCreate:
    public Integer ejbCreate(Integer id) {
    setId(id);
    return id;
    public void ejbPostCreate(Integer id) {
    }

  • PHP using soap to call EJB

    Hello everybody,
    I've a problem to call a EJB form a PHP script.
    There is a Apache with PHP 5.2.0 and a SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.10 / AS Java 7.10 running on the system.
    I wanted to use soap to call a method in an EJB. It's only a test EJB:
    [code]
    package beans;
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    import javax.jws.WebMethod;
    @WebService(name="HelloWorldEARBean",serviceName="HelloWorldEARBeanService",targetNamespace="http://beans/",portName="HelloWorldEARBeanPort") @Stateless public class HelloWorldEARBean {
      @WebMethod public String sayHello(String testStr){
                return "Hello Mr. "+testStr;
      @WebMethod public String getReturn(String inputStr){
                return "the return value is"+inputStr;
    [/code]
    I tried it with the PEAR SOAP in the following script:
    [code]
    <?php
    require_once 'SOAP/Client.php';
    $wsdl_url     = 'http://localhost:50000/HelloWorldEARBeanService/HelloWorldEARBean?wsdl';
    $WSDL = new SOAP_WSDL($wsdl_url);
    $client = $WSDL->getProxy();
    $client->__trace(1);
    $options=array('namespace' => 'http://beans/',
      'style' => 'rpc',
      'soapaction' => 'sayHello');
    $NAME = "Bob";
    $parameters=array(
         'parameters', $NAME
    $result = $client->getReturn($parameters);
    echo "<pre>";
    print_r($params);
    echo "</pre>";
    echo "<h2>return</h2>";
    echo "<pre>";
    print_r($result);
    echo "</pre>";
    echo '<h2>Request</h2>';
    echo '<pre>' . htmlspecialchars($client->__getlastrequest(), ENT_QUOTES) . '</pre>';
    echo '<h2>Response</h2>';
    echo '<pre>' . htmlspecialchars($client->__getlastresponse(), ENT_QUOTES). '</pre>';
    ?>
    [/code]
    The AS distributes the following WSDL:
    [code]

    By the following output it's obvious that the AS or the EJB (webservice) doesn't receive the parameter send by the PHP script. Look at the output:

    Further I experimented with different parameters inside the function call

    Hi
    I've solved the problem now. I just have to add
    @SOAPBinding(style=SOAPBinding.Style.RPC)
    in the EJB, that's all.
    Here is the complete code, ... maybe some other guys have this problem too, so I will post the working code:
    At first the EJB:
    package beans;
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    import javax.jws.WebParam;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    import javax.jws.WebMethod;
    import javax.jws.soap.SOAPBinding;
    import beans.HelloWorldEARBean;
    @WebService(name="HelloWorldEARBean",serviceName="HelloWorldEARBeanService",targetNamespace="http://beans/",portName="HelloWorldEARBeanPort")
    @SOAPBinding(style=SOAPBinding.Style.RPC)
    @Stateless public class HelloWorldEARBean {
         @WebMethod public String sayHello(@WebParam(name="testStr") String testStr){
                return "Hello Mr. "+testStr;
    2. the local XML:
    <wsdl:definitions xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" targetNamespace="http://beans/" xmlns:tns="http://beans/">

  • How to use UserTransaction in non-EJB code

    This is in a class that is called from within a Stateless Session bean. In this class, I'm trying to use a UserTransaction object that is created as follows (taken from Zuffoletto's book):
    ========================================
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
    "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    ctx = new InitialContext(env);

    However, when I call tx.begin(), it throws an exception as follows:

    Any ideas/suggestions/hints??
    Why would this explicitly created tx, being used by one single call be colliding with an existing transaction?
    Thanks for your comments.

    Hello,
    As I understand, you would like to setup a watch folder which will be getting pdf files in arbitrary intervals. You then want each pdf to be converted to ps in a separate folder.
    You could achieve this with the help of a script by polling for pdf files present in the watch folder. When you find pdf files, convert them to ps, save the ps file in another folder and then move the pdf to another folder.
    In any case, once the process of conversion of pdf to ps is over, acroread will quit.
    There is no way to keep the acroread process running in background and convert pdfs as and when they are available.
    Please let me know if this answers your query.
    Regards,
    Rishi

  • SOA 11g - FabricInvocationException when calling EJB Service

    Hi All,
    I have a case where a stateles ejb needs to be called from a composite. It is imported via EJB Service adapter.
    The question here is: How to correctly receive a thrown exception as the fault type it is supposed to be?
    Some more details of the problem:
    The invocation of EJB works just fine. The called method executes, returns correct responses. Except for when throwing an exception.
    I'm throwing a ProcessingException, which I would expect to receive as a fault. The message type is present in the automatically generated WSDL.
    Instead I am getting:
    <fault>
    <bpelFault>
    <faultType>0</faultType>
    <remoteFault>
    <part name="summary">
    <summary>oracle.fabric.common.FabricInvocationException: Unable to invoke</summary>
    </part>
    <part name="detail">
    <detail>Throwing requested exception</detail>
    </part>
    <part name="code">
    <code>null</code>
    </part>
    </remoteFault>
    </bpelFault>
    </fault>
    <faultType>
    <message>0</message>
    </faultType>
    The detail part is actually the text I use to create the exception in EJB, this could be used as a workaround to identify the exception, but a fault of correct type would work better with fault handling and policies.
    relevant part of the log:

    When using EJB3 with WTC, does my bean need to implement TuxedoService, TuxedoServiceHome or both?
    Does my interface need to implement TuxedoService, TuxedoServiceHome or both?
    I suspect this is what caused the ClassCastException in the previous post.
    These interfaces are not documented anywhere.

  • Got javax.transaction.HeuristicMixedException  when calling EJB business methods

              I have developed two EJBs. One is a stateless session bean,
              called InventorySessionBean(JNDI name: Inventory); the other one
              is a CMP Entity Bean called InventoryBean(JNDI name:
              InventoryBean). The InventoryBean represents the business object
              of Inventory. InventoryBean is declared CMT and all methods in
              the beans have attribute "Required". The InventorySessionBean is a session facade
              which encapsulate the business methods of
              InventoryBean. InventorySessionBean is declared CMT and all
              methods in the bean have attribute"RequiresNew" The backend
              database is Ingres.
              I have setup JDBC connection pool, Datasource and Tx Datasource.
              There is a client program which invokes InventorySessionBean to get business data

              Actually the InventorySessionBean invokes InventoryBean entity bean to get data

    Hi
    I was using the session bean.Your suggestion helped me a lot.Perfect.
    I debug my program and found that from ejbCreate()exception is getting.
    I was getting the datasource object thro ejb create() initialisation.
    Somehow the look up jndi which i mentioned was not interpretting from ejb-jar.xml ias-ejb-jar.xml and datasource ref .Due to this iam getting jndi Namenotfound exception which in turns to null pointer as datasource is getting null.
    when i hardcoded in the ejb the the jndi name for datasource it is working fine.Bit worried all the existing ejbs working with the xml referenced datasource and jndi,but when i added a new ejb with same properties it is failing to get the jndi name.
    Piece of code from ias-ejb-jar.xml
    <resource-ref>
              <res-ref-name>myDataSource</res-ref-name>
              <jndi-name>jdbc/nb/myData</jndi-name>
    </resource-ref>
    Piece of code from ejb-jar.xml
    <resource-ref>
              <res-ref-name>myDataSource</res-ref-name>
              <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>

  • JCO RFC Provider: "Bean not found" when calling EJB from ABAP via RFC

    Hello,
    I'm having trouble calling an EJB in a CE 7.1 system from ABAP via RFC. I'm trying to use the JCO RFC Provider service, which mean that I want to expose an EJB so that it can be called via Remote Function Call.
    I have documented everything, including the code and the deployment descriptors I wrote, in this thread in the CE forum: Jco RFC Provider: Bean not found
    If there's any chance you can help, please do me a favour and look into the problem.
    Thanks a lot!
    Thorsten

    Hi Vladimir,
    Thank you very much, your help was immensely valuable.
    I just had to add the function declaration to the Home Component interface, everything else was correct, and now it works.
    Cheers,
    Thorsten

    I tried your way,it works! Still ,does anyone know why staticToolCall() raised exception?
    By the way,here is the code as you suggested:
    public class EJBServletClient extends HttpServlet
         protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException,
                   IOException
              Context context = null;
              try
                   Map<String, String> param = new HashMap<String, String>();
                   param.put("CTS_CUSTOMER_ID", request.getParameter("CTS_CUSTOMER_ID"));
                   param.put("CTS_TASK_ID", request.getParameter("CTS_TASK_ID"));
                   param.put("SERIALNO", request.getParameter("SERIALNO"));
                   param.put("CUSTOMER_SERVICE_UM", request.getParameter("CUSTOMER_SERVICE_UM"));
                   //Map result = this.staticToolCall(param);
                   Properties p = new Properties();
                   p.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://10.25.32.13:31256");
                   p.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
                   p.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "username");
                   p.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "password");
                   context = new InitialContext(p);
                   Map result=EJBTool.modifyApplyCustomerInfo(context, param);
                   System.out.println(result);
              } catch (Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
                   throw new ServletException(e);
              }finally
                   if (context != null)
                        try{context.close();} catch (NamingException e){e.printStackTrace();}
    public class EJBTool
         public static Map modifyApplyCustomerInfo(Context context, Map param) throws Exception
              BizApplyServiceHome home = (BizApplyServiceHome) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(
                        context.lookup("ejb/rcs-css/BizApplyService"), BizApplyServiceHome.class);
              BizApplyService bizApplyService = home.create();
              Map result = bizApplyService.modifyApplyCustomerInfo(param);
              return result;

  • JNDI Error  when calling ejb

    I've create a ear file include a war and jar
    when I call the servlet that call a ejb
    the following error prompt out:
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve gendocnum. Resolved:
    '' Unresolved:'gendocnum' ; remaining name ''
    <<no stack trace available>>
    [2001/04/09 12:14:27, 0] nmbd/nmbd_namequery.c:query_name_response(93)

    Please help
    Regards,
    Angel
    p.s. 'gendocnum' is the JNDI name of ejb

    It seems that u need a ejbPostCreate with the same parameters as ejbCreate:
    public Integer ejbCreate(Integer id) {
    setId(id);
    return id;
    public void ejbPostCreate(Integer id) {
    }

  • WLS hanger when calling EJB in second WLS

    Hello,
    I have a very strange problem I need to track down. The scenario is as follows:
    WLS6.1 SP3/Solaris 2.8
    One WLS containing an EJB A (stateless session) that has Trx=Required on method_A,
    the second WLS that has an EJB B deployed (stateless session) that has Trx=NotSupported
    on method_B. Now I call in a client method_A of EJB A, which calls method_B of
    EJB B. This works fine.
    Now I install the second WLS on an different machine (same OS=solaris), and repeat
    above scenario. The result is that I am able to call method_A of EJB A, which
    calls method_B of EJB B. But after I return from method_B/EJB in EJB A, I hang
    in EJB A/postInvoke.
    From the thread dump I see the following:
    "ExecuteThread: '46' for queue: 'default'" daemon prio=5 tid=0x7c20c0 nid=0x35d

    I am getting the same exception about an assertion failed at weblogic.t3.srvr.T3Srvr.checkServerLock. Any ideas?

  • Calling EJB on JBoss server

    Hi All,
    I am new to ColdFusion. As per my project requirement, I want
    to call an EJB deployed on JBoss which is in another domain. Please
    guide/suggest me some tutorial with example to get this done. Is
    there any need to deploy some jar files to ColdFusion Application
    server?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Surendra.

    There are no 'objects' in the standard Java API that would allow one to do that easily. And depending on the logging interface it might not be possible at all.
    Using the socket interface one can create a telnet session and by handling the telnet commands in java one could log in and run a remote session. However to do that in the standard API requires a non-trivial amount of code. I believe there are commercial interfaces that provide this.
    If the logging in is actually via windows network then JNI would have to be used, along with Runtime.exec() to run the executable. The actual interface to log into a "network" computer has nothing to do with java so you might try a different forum/list for that info - something specific to windows. Or look it up in the Microsoft Developer library using either the CD or the online version. To interact with that will require JNI.

  • Error when calling a report from Server?

    We have a .NET application on the server and we want to call a crystal report (.rpt) from one of the forms (.NET aspx page).  We are getting below error.  The report works fine on the desktop where it is developed.  Please let us know if there is any specific process to move the reports to server.  Any help is appreciated.
    The report is developed in Crystal Reports 2008 and we are using Visual Studio 2005.  We are using Crystal Report Viewer control to call / associate the report developed.
    Error message,
    An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime. Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient, or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly. Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) required.  Please go to http://www.businessobjects.com/support for more information.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    It seems that you are having issue with Crystal reports .Net SDK's.
    Post your question in Crystal Reports .NET SDK forum.
    That forum is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there. Also, all .NET SDK queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.
    Thank you for your understanding,
    Amit
