Rounding to Sales Unit in GATP

HI! All
We are in process of implementing GATP and we have a requirement of rounding the confirmed quantity in APO.
The standard Library says that it can be achieved provided you carryout availaibility check from CRM system & you should have ECC defence system.
We dont use CRM nor we have ECC defence.
Can rounding be achieved while carrying out availaibility form a normal ECC system.
Has any body tried it.
Please no links & theoritical answers.
Thanks in Advance

Hi
To perform rounding successfully, you must make the settings described Bellow
Procedure
Settings for Rounding to Pack Sizes
Settings in SAP SCM
●     Settings in SCM Basis
a.Define a number range for the packaging specification.
For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for SAP SCM under SCM Basis ® Packing ® Packaging Specification ® Define Number Range for Packaging Specification.
b.Make the following settings for determining packaging specifications:
i. Define a field catalog.
Note that you must transfer customer-specific fields to the field catalog for Global ATP. In addition, you must implement the Business Add-In (BAdI) /SAPAPO/ATP_RND for customer-specific fields.
ii. Define condition types for the PAK application and the PS usage. Create access sequences, accesses, and condition tables.
iii.       Define a determination procedure.
For more information about determining packaging specifications, see the IMG for SAP SCM under SCM Basis ® Packing ® Packaging Specification ® Determination of Packaging Specifications.
●     Settings in SAP APO
Define one or more packaging specifications. To define a packaging specification, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Advanced Planning and Optimization ® Global ATP ® Environment ® Packaging Specification ® Maintain Packaging Specification.
Make the following rounding settings for the packaging specification you created:
○     Header Information for the Packaging Specification
Choose one of the following rounding methods:
■      Pack-size-oriented rounding method
The pack-size-oriented rounding method rounds the demand to the next largest or next smallest pack size. Your settings for the packaging specification levels determine rounding.
■      Demand-quantity-oriented rounding method
The demand-quantity-oriented rounding method rounds the demand according to the rounding limits that you specify here. Enter the upper and lower rounding limit (as a percentage of the demand quantity or the monthly demand). The upper and the lower rounding limits are not related to the pack sizes.
Define the minimum quantity. This represents the smallest possible rounding result.
○     Contents of the Packaging Specification
Enter the product, the smallest quantity for the unit, and the unit of measure. The product is not the product to be checked; it is only a reference product for the calculation of the quantity.
○     Packaging Specification Levels
The levels of a packaging specification represent the different pack sizes for the product, such as package, box, and pallet.
i.       Define one or more levels for the packaging specification.
ii.       Specify which level is the smallest pack size.
iii.       If you have chosen the pack-size-oriented rounding method, you can specify either the upper and lower rounding limit (as a percentage of the pack size) or the rounding direction for each level that you have defined after the level with the smallest pack size.
You can specify a rounding direction for the level that represents the smallest pack size, but not rounding limits.
If the demand quantity is smaller than the quantity that is contained in the smallest pack size, the system always rounds up (to the smallest pack size). Confirmed quantities can be rounded to zero.
Each additional pack size can only be defined as a multiple of the previous pack size. You can define 1, 10, and 30 as pack sizes in a packaging specification, for example, but not 1, 10, and 25.
●     Settings in Global ATP
Create a check mode and specify the rounding procedure that you want the ATP check to use as a basis for rounding. In SCM Basis, you have defined the rounding procedure as the determination procedure.
Create check instructions and activate the rounding procedure. After you have activated the rounding procedure, Global ATP rounds according to the specified rounding procedure.
Settings for Rounding to Sales Units
Settings in SAP ECC
In Customizing for SAP ECC Enterprise Extension Defense Forces & Public Security (EA-DFP), activate rounding by setting the Only Complete. indicator. By using the advice code, you specify that only complete packs are to be delivered.
Settings in SAP SCM
Define sales units in the product master on the Units of Measure tab page. To call the product master, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Advanced Planning and Optimization ® Master Data ® Product ® Product.

    Sales Order qty = 13pcs

Due to the actual result if 1 pack which can not fulfill the requirements from customer.

    Hi ,
In material master you can maintain UOM conversions. I think it will not automatically update in sales order based on customer . But it can help you to maintain condition records for this customer using SQm as UOM in vk12 and not KG . See if this works.
Other opton and the best one will be to use user exit to replace the UOM while creating the order byt aking helpo of some one from ABAP team . refer follwoing link for exits :

    Dear Lorena,

ok, I need to do manually in the CRM system.  I have one question
1: If any changes in the ERP system the data is automatically replicated in to CRM system right? then Why we need to Configure again in the CRM system. for Examaple: Proudct group and Tax.
    2.  No, I did not replicate Sales Org., but this is also automatically replicated into CRM system. But it is already replicated into CRM i.e. Initial download.
my question is in r/3: If one customer have 2 Sales Area data is maitained in the R/3, that information is also available in the CRM side. if one more  sales area is assigned to same customer, that information is also availbale in the CRM system right? but I could not able to find the new sales area data. what is the reason? and how I can dowload the changes in the CRM system?

  • Updating sales unit VRKME via IDOC DELVRY03

    Dear All,
I am using IDOC : DELVRY03 , message type SHPCON for updating picked quantities for outbound deliveries from an external WM system.
Our delivery quantity is defined in sales units (for example : 1 box which contains 10 PC). PC is the base unit of measure for the product.
Sometimes there is not enough stock in the warehouse so they can pick less then 1 box, for example : 8 PC.
In that case I need to update the picked quantity from 10 to 8 and also update the unit for the delivery from box to PC.
IDOC DELVRY03 does not update the delivery unit even that the field is defined in segment : E1EDL24-VRKME.
Does anyone knows how can I update this field using an IDOC ? BAPI ? or any other option ?
    Thank you very much,
    Miriam Harel.

    Hi Miriam,
    Welcome to SDN.
Please try BAPI BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CHANGE to update the sales unit.
    Hope this will help.

  • Item Sale Unit

    Hello Experts,
We have an item, Gas, that is purchased in KG, stored in KG and sold in Litres (0.56 x KG).
However, one customer insisted (and it is now contractual) that they be invoiced in KG.
I would appreciate suggestions on how to accommodate this altered "Item Sales per Unit" from 0.56 to 1 for just this one customer.
    Thanking you in advance.

    Thanks for the response.
Sorry Gordon, I am not sure how to do what you suggest.
I have left the default settings in Purchasing and Inventory for the item, but in Sales I have changed the Item Sales Unit to 0.56.
This works fine when the item is sold, the stock is reduced by 0.56 x unit quantity.
I have noticed that when I add Base Unit to the sales document and select Yes, stock reduces by 1 x unit quanity. This is the outcome I wanted.
Is that the best way of doing it?
    Thanks again.

  • Sales Unit of Measure?

    Hi,
as far as I can tell, Netpoint synchs not the Sales Unit of Measure (oitm.SalUnitMsr) but the quantity Per Packaging Unit (oitm.SalPackUn) when you do an Item sync, this figure then appears as the item's "# Per Package" in Netpoint.
    Is this correct?
If so, is there any way to force Netpoint to sync the Sales Unit of Measure (I can do my own method via synch plugin but it would be nice if there was some way without that)
    Thanks!

    Hi Corbin,
    I figured as much.
What I am doing instead is running an SP on my SAP Server by way of a sync plugin that updates a table on the Netpoint server, and then looking up the UOM for the Partno when the PartDetails.aspx page is loaded.
    Roundabout, but works.
Still it would definently be nice to be able to choose from a dropdown in the next version, which field from SAP you wanted to map to any field in Netpoint - that way it would be very flexible.

  • Sales Unit - issue

    Hi Everyone,
We are having issues  populating   Quantity  Key Figure - 0COPASLQTY with "#" (Unassigned) as Unit Of Measure
The 0COPASLQTU is the Unit of Measure for 0COPASLQTY  KF.
We have the same code in BPS Planning functions and they work fine without issues. But in IP,  it is not
working. It is not allowing us to assign "#" as the Sales Unit.
      I appreciate your suggestions.
      Regards
      Peter

    Hi Peter,
BW-IP follows the general rule in BW that an amout key figure value not equal 0 has to have a non-initial currency for the currency characteristic the key figure is using (maintained in RSD1). The same is true for quantity key figures and quantities.
As a result, the amounts/quanties values cannot be changed or created.
Why do you need non-zero key figure values with initial amounts/quantities ?
BW-BPS (since it started as SEM-BPS) is not as strict as BW-IP since it is a solution on top of BW not 'in' BW. Another example where IP is more strict is the 'time-consistency' of an real-time InfoCube, i.e. the allowed combinations of BW time characteristics.

  • Adjusting the behavior of sales unit of measure on sales order

    Hello Everyone,
I have a question regarding adjusting the behavior of sales unit of measure (UOM) on sales order (SO).
We maintain 3 UOM on material master u2013 A, B, C; where A is base UOM and C is sales UOM.
If we change the material on existing sales order in VA02, system also always changes the UOM on SO to C as well because C is sales UOM on material master. Sometimes SO quantities are in A or B UOM and we do not want system to change them to C when material is updated.
We know it is a standard SAP behavior and the question is if it can be adjusted somehow (in configuration or some other way), so system is not changing the UOM on existing SO to sales UOM when material is updated.
PS if we leave sales unit of measure field in material master blank, when material on SO is changed system is still changing the UOM, now to the base UOM A
    Thank you!
    Alex

ANSWER: According to SAP there is no way to change the behavior without taking the risk of breaking a lot of stuff.

  • Base Unit of Measure to Sales Unit Conversion

    Hi,
Currently we are selling material in MT and all other transactions in MM and Production are in MT only.
Now client wants material to be sold in Meters, also in some cases the same material will be sold in MT also.
(As per my knowledge generally if the conversion is one to one i.e. base unit of measure is pieces and Sales unit of measure will be boxes and
1 box = 10 pieces can be maintained in material master.)
Here for conversion between Metric tonne to Meters there is formula involved so how and where this conversion needs to maintained in system.
How to map this type of scenario.
What all activities needs to be done from SD side and which other modules need to be involved this process.
Note: SAP is installed for more than 3 years now.
    Hope i clear enough.
    Regards,

    Hi following is the formula.
OD = Outer diameter, thickness, length, Number of tubes are maintained in sales order charateristics during sales order creation.
    OD
    Thickness
    Weight in Kgs / M
    length of tube
    Nos of tubes
    Total length in Mtrs
    Rate / MT
    Rate / Mtr
    A
    X = (A-B)*B*0.02456
    'L
    N
    T= L xN/1000
    R
    M=R/1000*X
