Row headings in ALV

Dear all,
Could anyone update me about hints we can use in select statements which can improve performance. I am retrieving a lot of entries from VBAK and VBAP and it is throwing memory outage dump.
Thank you

uday,
your subject and question speak about different aspects. please clarify. anyhow, for your question, use the following hint after the select statement. This retrieves database records in blocks as you mention. Ex 200 as in the below example. You might use this only for Oracle database.
Sometimes, the blocking factor may reduce performance . take care.
     SELECT vbeln posnr matnr arktx kdmat kwmeng netwr vstel netpr
            kzwi1 kzwi2 kzwi3 kzwi4  cmpre
       into table tis_vbap
       FROM  VBAP
       for all entries in tih_vbak
       WHERE  VBELN  = tih_vbak-vbeln
            AND    MATNR   in s_matnr
            AND    LSMENG  in s_fkimg
            AND    VSTEL   in s_vstel
            AND    KZWI4   in s_mntfac
            AND    CMPRE   in s_mntttc
%_HINTS ORACLE '&prefer_in_itab_opt 1&&max_in_blocking_factor 100&'.

  • Alv with row headings

    Hi,
            Can any one send sample code for the follwing requirement.
    I wnat to display alv with column and also row headings.
    Ex:

    orderno  01/01/2006 01/02/2006  01/03/2006
    quantity  100         200        300
    Thanks in advance.
    Kiran.

    Hi Kiran,
           First get the Final or Output Internal Table as
    Date     Orderno    Qty
           then Convert it into
    Date
    Orderno
    Qty
           You'll get what you have asked for.

  • FIeld headings in ALV Grid by label

    Hi
    I want disply the headings in alv grid display like this format.
    I want write my own label in the output. (not in Normal LIST DISPLAY)
    Sno |      Sname |    Marks
        |           |     M1 |  M2  | M3
    How it is possible?
    Edited by: Krishna Bommisetty on Sep 11, 2008 10:55 AM

    Hi,
      Check the below code.
    WA_FCAT-SELTEXT_M   = TEXT-073.
      WA_FCAT-DDICTXT      = 'M'.
    We can define the name of the field label as mentioned above, where texto073 is nothing but the field label you want to give to the particular field.
      DDICTXT you have to mention the length as small 'S', medium 'M' and large as 'L'.

  • REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY (column headings from ALV to EXCEL) Max please help

    Hi Max,
    If you remember in one of my last post I asked for changing the column headings in ALV display for example from 'Material' to 'Material used'.
    I am using
    CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
       EXPORTING
          I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM                = repid
          IT_FIELDCAT                       = field_body
          I_SAVE                            = g_save
          IS_VARIANT                        = g_variant
          IT_EVENTS                         = events
        TABLES
          T_OUTTAB                          = itab.
    And you suggested me the following way....
    loop at field_body into field_wa.
    case field_wa-fieldname.
      when 'Material'.
         field_wa-seltext_l = 'Material used'.
         field_wa-seltext_m = 'Material used'.
         field_wa-seltext_s = 'Material used'.
    endcase.
    modify field_body from field_wa.
    endloop.
    It is working well. In ALV display the column heading is changed to what I wanted. But the question is when I export the displayed ALV to Excel using ALV functionality, Export->Spreadsheet... I see that <b>I dont get the Column Heading into Excel as it was in the ALV display.</b>
    I get in the Excel as 'Material u' or 'Mat. Used'. But when I add this line in the code.....
    when 'Material'.
         field_wa-seltext_l = 'Material used'.
         field_wa-seltext_m = 'Material used'.
         field_wa-seltext_s = 'Material used'.
        <b> field_wa-outputlen = 20.</b>
    Then I see that I get the complete heading in the Excel. But this way the columns with outputlen 20 are taking much space in ALV display.
    Is there any fix for this. May be not mentioning the outputlen but still get the column headings into Excel as it was in ALV display.
    Anyone with ideas please respond. Waiting for replies. Thanks

    Hi
    The labels have a fixed size:
    seltext_l is long   text: 20 char
    seltext_m is medium text: 15 char
    seltext_s is short  text: 10 char
    The text 'Material used' is long 13 char so you should write:
    field_wa-seltext_l = 'Material used'.
    field_wa-seltext_m = 'Material used'.
    field_wa-seltext_s = 'Mat. used'.
    You can try to set the field colwidth_optimize of parameter IT_LAYOUT.
    This field should optimize the width of the colunm
    So
    data layout type SLIS_LAYOUT_ALV.
    layout-colwidth_optimize = 'X'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
    EXPORTING
    I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM = repid
    IT_LAYOUT   = layout
    IT_FIELDCAT = field_body
    I_SAVE = g_save
    IS_VARIANT = g_variant
    IT_EVENTS = events
    TABLES
    T_OUTTAB = itab.
    and you can decide which label has to be used:
    field_wa-seltext_l = 'Material used'.
    field_wa-seltext_m = 'Material used'.
    field_wa-seltext_s = 'Mat. used'.
    If you want to set the short text
    field_wa-ddictxt   = 'S'.
    ...medium
    field_wa-ddictxt   = 'M'.
    ...long
    field_wa-ddictxt   = 'L'.

  • Can we adjust ROW height in ALV report as like of Excel ?

    Dear all,
    Can we adjust ROW height in ALV report as like of Excel sheet ?
    Can we increase/decrease the row height in the output display ?
    How ?

    Thanks a lot for your response.
    I've tried your proposal, but it has no affect. The report cells show all their content using as much lines as necessary for this.This is the default behaviour for HTML table data (tables and cells expand to fit their content).
    So I still have rows with lots of lines and rows with only a few lines mixed in my IR dependant on the cell content. Because some rows filling nearly the whole screen, it is difficult to get an overview with regard to adjacent rows.
    I'm using Application Express 4.1.1.00.23. with Theme 21. Scarlet and Firefox 17.0.1.Are all users using Firefox?
    Actually I'm working on my first APEX Solution for usage in my company and the customers demanding a solution for this topic . So I'm very keen to find a solution.
    I'm very much looking forward to your response.I've been involved with similar issues in the past. My first response is simple: Does this data have to be shown in the report? Can the offending column(s) be removed from the primary report? They will still be visible in the single row view, and the detail view if there is one.
    The second option is to create a detail view for the report with a structure that is better suited to the data involved, and make this the default view. (For an example of this, see the treatment of the PRODUCT_DESCRIPTION column in the detail view of the Products report in the Sample Database Application: click on the View Detail button on the Products page.)
    The third possibility is some kind of customization of the presentation of the data. This will involve using some combination of HTML/CSS/Dynamic Actions/Plug-ins/JavaScript that you may not be familiar with: do you have experience of these? To go down that route you need to describe in detail how you want to present the data, or what behaviour is required when the data is too long, and share an example of the report on apex.oracle.com that we can work with.

    Code some like this in the WDDOINIT method of your view which defines the ALV component as used component.
    instansiate the ALV component
    data lo_cmp_usage type ref to if_wd_component_usage.
    lo_cmp_usage = wd_this->wd_cpuse_usage_alv().
    if lo_cmp_usage->has_active_component() is initial.
       lo_cmp_usage->create_component().
    endif.
    data lo_interfacecontroller type ref to iwci_salv_wd_table.
    lo_interfacecontroller = wd_this->wd_cpifc_usage_alv().
    data lo_value type ref to cl_salv_wd_config_table.
    lo_value = lo_interfacecontroller->get_model().
    hide the grid lines
    lo_value->if_salv_wd_table_settings~SET_GRID_MODE( value = '01' ).

  • Track add row button in alv

    Hello
    I would like to track the code of add row button in alv grid. When user cliks add row in avl toolbar what is the code? Is there some PAI module calls in that moment ? I found something about slis_selfield and something like mc_fc_loc_insert_row. I have tried write a code:
    data button type ui_func.
    button = gr_alvgrid -> mc_fc_loc_insert_row.
    After that, in PAI module of screen where alv is, I have tried to read that button. But no results.
    Frankly speaking I don't know how to use that all. Can anybody tell me how.
    I will be gratefully.

    Hi Sri,
    I think there is no standard way for this.
    Maybe with java script.
    Actually the users do not need to save data before they get the additional lines, A refresh is enough.
    So maybe you should just define a button calling the refresh command and just name the button different.
    regards
    Cornelia

  • Urgent :  how to select the rows in the ALV Grid Control

    How to select the rows in the ALV Grid control,
    I am facing the situation where i need to select the row/rows in the Grid control and then to lock the entries,
    If anyone have the solution please help me out
    <b>Its very Urgent</b>

    Hi Bharath,
    Go through this hope u can understand.
    SEL_MODE. Selection mode, determines how rows can be selected. Can have the following values:
    A Multiple columns, multiple rows with selection buttons.
    B Simple selection, listbox, Single row/column
    C Multiple rows without buttons
    D Multiple rows with buttons and select all ICON
    Setting and getting selected rows (Columns) and read line contents
    You can read which rows of the grid that has been selected, and dynamic select rows of the grid using methods get_selected_rows and set_selected_rows. There are similar methods for columns.
    Note that the grid table always has the rows in the same sequence as displayed in the grid, thus you can use the index of the selected row(s) to read the information in the rows from the table. In the examples below the grid table is named gi_sflight.
    Data declaration:
    DATA:
    Internal table for indexes of selected rows
    gi_index_rows TYPE lvc_t_row,
    Information about 1 row
    g_selected_row LIKE lvc_s_row.
    Example 1: Reading index of selected row(s) and using it to read the grid table
      CALL METHOD go_grid->get_selected_rows
        IMPORTING
          et_index_rows = gi_index_rows.
      DESCRIBE TABLE gi_index_rows LINES l_lines.
      IF l_lines = 0.
        CALL FUNCTION 'POPUP_TO_DISPLAY_TEXT'
             EXPORTING
                  textline1 = 'You must choose a valid line'.
        EXIT.
      ENDIF.
      LOOP AT gi_index_rows INTO g_selected_row.
         READ TABLE gi_sflight INDEX g_selected_row-index INTO g_wa_sflight.
        ENDIF.
      ENDLOOP.
    Example 2: Set selected row(s).
      DESCRIBE TABLE gi_index_rows LINES l_lines.
      IF l_lines > 0.
        CALL METHOD go_grid->set_selected_rows
            exporting
              it_index_rows = gi_index_rows.
      ENDIF.

  • Selecting multiple rows of an alv

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where in i have to select multiple rows of an alv and when i click a button i should get the data of all the selected rows, i am able to select only one row by default , how to select multiple rows or records,i am new to this Web dynpro alv , can aynbody please help me on this.
    Thanks,
    Praveen.

    hi, praveen kumar.
    About how to make "Multiple-select" of ALV available, you can take a reference of the following coding. Just one example:
    ****ALV Config****
      DATA:
          lr_salv_wd_table TYPE REF TO iwci_salv_wd_table,
          l_value TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_config_table,
          lr_table_settings TYPE REF TO if_salv_wd_table_settings.
       lr_salv_wd_table = wd_this->wd_cpifc_alv_child( ).  "Your statically declared ALV component usage
       l_value = lr_salv_wd_table->get_model( ).
    * tabel setting
      lr_table_settings ?= l_value .
      lr_table_settings->set_selection_mode( cl_wd_table=>e_selection_mode-MULTI ).
    About how to get your selected records of ALV, you can make use of the context node bound to your ALV component. For example,
    ****get selected elements****
    lt_elems = lo_node->GET_SELECTED_ELEMENTS(
          INCLUDING_LEAD_SELECTION = abap_true ).
    These are just examples. For detail, you can search them.
    Thanks.Best wishes.
