Row id in editable ALV while using MP_MOD_ROWS

Hi Experts
I have an editable alv with 13 fields editable in it. Inside the DATA_CHANGED event i am making use of the attribute MP_MOD_ROWS for doing some specific validations. But I am not able to pass the row_id to the the mehod add_protocal_entry while multiple rows are in MP_MOD_ROWS ,since its not available MP_MOD_ROWS .
Can anyone tell me how i can get the row_id for each row in MP_MOD_ROWS.
Since I need the full row for validations , i cant use MT_MOD_CELLS.

I do not understand your question about row_id as this is a component lvc_t_modi table. I don't know MP_MOD_ROWS as there is only attribute MT_MOD_ROWS of parameter ER_DATA_CHANGED of event DATA_CHANGED of CL_GUI_ALV_GRID.

Enable User Defined toolbar button on click - editable alv grid using oops

I have created editable alv using oops concept.
created 2 user defined toolbar button save and print using method toolbar

requirement is
initially print button should be disabled, and save enabled

You should call set_toolbar_interactive method of cl_gui_alv_grid in the on_user_command( ie the event handler for event user command) .
method on_user_command.

This triggers the toolbar event of the

e_ucomm will not have the function code if the save button is not in the toolbar area.

Handling Enter Key in Editable ALV Grid using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY

Hello All,
I have seen a number of threads on captioned issue and everyone of them say to create FCODE for Enter in the Screen's PF Status and then handle the event.
But the catch is when you hit Enter key in ALV Grid, it will not trigger any FCODE at all because the FCODE Enter you have created is for the screen and not for the GRID. Can anyone please let me know if SAP has given any standard utility in REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY FM for handling the Enter key event.

Set the PF-status for OK key and use the FCODE or u can usethe dynamic ok_code generated .

Editable ALV - editable fields after copying row

Hi all!
I've got a (simple?) problem. I created an editable ALV (by using class CL_GUI_ALV_GRID). There it is possible to add, delte or change entries. That's work!
The problem is, when the user copies an entry, the fields are not ready for input. It's the default function of the ALV. My questions is, how can I make the new line editable (including the key fields). I tried to replace the "copy line" function of the ALV with my own function code (on event TOOLBAR) and process it on event BEFORE_USER_COMMAND.
In my own copy routine I read the selected line to create a new one with the same values, set the attributes (field table type LVC_T_STYL) for the new line and append it to my internal table. After that, I make a refresh of the ALV. Unfortunately the DATA_CHANGED event does not work anymore. So it is not possible for me to check for double entries and validitiy. It doesn't help to call method CHECK_CHANGED_DATA on the grid instance.
Does anybody has an idea or an example??

Undo deleting rows in Editable ALV

Hi All,
i have to check something (at event data_changed of cl_gui_alv_grid), after the user click delete row in an editable ALV. If any expression is true, then the deleted row should not be deleted, it should be undo.
Have anyone a idea to undo this deleting-function.

SAP provides provision for overwriting the functionality of standard buttons displayed in the ALV. You have write a subroutine in which your code has to be executed. That subroutine will be executed during the runtime,
when a standard button has been clicked.

Editable ALV- Quantity field value is getting changed while double clicking

I have created Editable ALV grid using Class concepts. Quantity field is editable in dat. but after changing value and if im double clicking on that field, value is getting changed. eg: 45 is changing to .045. How can i resolve this problem.

U have displayed the ALV.In that grid u have quantity field.U have changed the value of that field to 45.
When u press enter the value has been changed to .045.Is this u r problem.
U can do onething anu.
Declare one varaible with the local field.
Pass u r quantity field value into that variable.
While displaying thriugh SET_TABLE_FIRST_DISPLAY in your internal table pass this variable.
It will solve u r problem.I think.

I was developed a heirarchila editable ALV by using FM 'REUSE_ALV_HIERSEQ_LIST_DISPLAY'. The user will do some changes in the ITEMs (Z_VBAP_TABLE) on this heirarchila ALV report and presses the SAVE button.
In my program am handling this SAVE command and even my break point is also triggering at SAVE, but my ITAB is not having the CHANGED/new data!! still it has the old data in it! How to capture the user changes done on the report? those changes are not tranferring back to my itab/prog! because, ineed to update Z_VBAP_TABLE with those changes

This i did a long back. Check your code . I created an alv that will display data from my table . In this the user can click in any line item and he can change any value and press save that will save the value .

Enter Key Event in Editable ALV Grid

Hi all,
I am trying to create and editable ALV grid using the REUSE ALV FM.
On the grid after changing a value, if I press enter key the pai is not triggered. I have tried the various example programs (BCALV*) but could not find anything relevant.
Basically I need similar functionality to normal module pool programming as in validations on screen done when enter key is pressed after screen entry.
Is it possible to capture the Enter keypress on the ALV grid?

I can only tell you how I would solve this using the ALV grid control (CL_GUI_ALV_GRID) because I have abandoned using ALV function modules.
The problem with running through PAI is whether the focus (i.e. the cursor) is still on the control or already on the (surrounding) main program. If the control has the focus, you do not run through PAI.
I would add a "Refresh" button to the toolbar of the ALV list. Normally, this button is already there or you only have to make it visible.
When the user pushes this button you catch the corresponding user-command and call the CHECK_DATA_CHANGED method to see if values have been changed on the editable grid. If so, the previous method will fire event DATA_CHANGED.
Now, in the event handler method (e.g. HANDLE_DATA_CHANGED) you receive as input a data change object (CL_ALV_CHANGED_DATA_PROTOCOL). This object contains all changed values. These values you will need to make your checks.
I assume that the logic will be similar using ALV function modules.

Short dump SAVE_NOT_ALLOWED while using CL_GUI_ALV_GRID in editable ALV

While inserting row you must be selecting a row, you can get the index of the selected row by this following code

I have a scenario in which i am display the ALV(using class) with some data in the custom container of module pool screen in the non-editable mode.Also i have save and edit buttons.If i click the edit button i have written the code to edit the some columns in the ALV grid, it is working fine.After editing it,when i click the save button then ALV has to refreshed with edited data and then it should go to non editable mode but it is not working.I have written the code for changing the editable ALv to non editable mode as follows :
call method c_alvgd->set_ready_for_input
 exporting
 i_ready_for_input = 0.
*****Row and column of the alv are refreshed after changing values
stable-row = 'X'.
stable-col = 'X'.
*REfreshed ALV display with the changed values
*This ALV is non editable and contains new values
call method c_alvgd->refresh_table_display
 exporting
 is_stable = stable
 exceptions
 finished = 1
 others = 2.
if sy-subrc <> 0.

I suppose that you are able to get your changes values on screen but not able to get your field in DISPLAY mode from editable mode, let me know if this is not your problem.
When you press SAVE, after the PAI, again PBO will run and hence the editable code for that field will overwrite which will keep it editable.
So, do something like this.
data: gv_edit value 'X'..... "global variable in TOP include
PBO....
loop at ...
if gv_edit = 'X'.
CALL METHOD lo_alv->set_ready_for_input
EXPORTING
 i_ready_for_input = 1.
else.
CALL METHOD lo_alv->set_ready_for_input
EXPORTING
 i_ready_for_input = 0.
endif.
endloop.
PAI.
when 'SAVE'.
gv_edit = space.
When 'EDIT'.
gv_edit = 'X'.
