Row selection in web layout

I am trying to use the layout 'line' selection functionality in order to execute a planning function for the selected row.
I have followed the process of creating a hidden variable that receives the line from the source layout, and have included this variable in the function. But the function does not execute for a selected row. It executes for all of the rows that have the same 'selected' characteristic value. What type of variable should I be using for the hidden variable? I have tried 'characteristic', replace type 'user-define'.
Does this work for the line selection in the web?

Definitely you have more than one characteristic in the Layout in Lead Columns.
Extend the "hidden variable" concept for other characteristics in the lead column and use these variables in the Planning level "restriction". The variable types remains as "what you explained".
Your FOX would now get only the selected row as input data.

If you display the layout of dynpro 100 and display the attibutes of tablecontrol TABLE, you will see that the in attributes
(Line sel.) you have the radiobutton Multiple checked.

Reset Row Selection from Web Item Analysis in WAD 7.0

Hi All,
I have a Web Item Type Analysis and I use the Row Selection (SELECT_ROWS) value multiple.
Is there a way to reset the selection via a function?
The user select some rows and start a planning function via a button. If they would like to start the function for an other selection they first have to remove the old ones and have to mark the other lines.
A function to remove all selection from the item is needed!
PS: It is getting funny if there is paging and the selection is not even visible because it is on an other page.

Can't Freeze Row/column in Web layout in Integrated planning

Hi Guys
we have 50 columns in planning query. Web layout screen can't present all these column in one screen . While scrolling for viewing rest of the columns the initial column(Description) disappears i.e scrolled out and hence it is very difficult to corelate which Key Figutre value (Value) represent which Object(InfoObject).
We need a way around of freezing of columns functionality which is available in BPS but not in BI IP.

How to hide cells in the sumation row in bps web layouts

Hello xperts,
I'm looking for a possibility to hide certain cells in the sumation row within a planing table (layout) over the webinterface builder.
can anybody help me.
I know there is a possibility to influence a table with the tableinterface for reporting tables.
Is there any similar possibility in BPS- Web interface builder like a java script ?

what exactly do you mean by "hide certain cells"? Do want to empty the contents of the cell or actually hide the cell? Hiding works for entire rows or entire tables, but hiding colums or even single cells is a bit more difficult (given, that when you hide one cell, the table loses its rectangular shape and the rows and columns don't match anymore ).
I mangaged to change the appearance of certain objects with javascript. But that works only if you have an ID or NAME attribute in the HTML-source. Let's say you have a button and want to make it disappear.
1. Create the button in the wi builder, name it button1.
2. Create a text/html field, mark the html flag.
3. Edit the long text of the field:

document.getElementById('button1').style.display='none';
</script>
That will make the button disappear. But I don't think that the display attribute will have any effect on a TD. You can try with style.InnerHTML or maybe set style.color to the background color. But in any case, the TD in the HTML code needs to have an ID or NAME. Otherwise it can't be referred. Maybe changing the bsp with SE80 helps?

Hi,
For the sake of analysis you can create an alerter with the specified condition and highlight (format the background) the cell which satisfy the condition. You can enable the same alerter on all the columns of the block so that a particular row will get highlighted on satisfying a particular condition in the report.

Multiple line selection in BPS web layout

Hello experts
I know there is a "row/column" option for layout in WIB, but it only provides the "radiobutton" but not "checkbox", hence I only can select single line in the layout but not the multiple lines.

Patrick, it's quite difficult to explain it, if you are not familiar with BSP
I can show only direction for you in such case, because whole implementation is quite hard and depends of you requirements.
In short, you should generate your application in WIB with "Generate class" set true and keep "Name of generated class" filled.
Then, you should go to se80, select BSP appication, enter name of your application, then, you will have layout2.htm in Views. This page implements web-layout. You should change HTML and ABAP coding for this page to put checkboxes and write some code to implement your business logic.

Using Row Selection in Analysis Web Item & Filter Command

In the 7.0 WAD (Web Application Designer), I have two analysis items that both have different data providers, DP_1 & DP_2. The two data providers are views from the same query.
In the properties of the first analysis item (DP_1), I'm using the Row Selection - 'Single with Commands', and I want to have a command that will filter on the value of the characteristic in the row selected and transfer that filter to the second analysis itme (DP_2). Is this possible?

Row text Visible in Excel layout but missing in Web layout

Hi,
My row text is visible in Excel layout but it is missing in web layout. Only the first row is missing text while the other rows are showing
The planning layout that I am using is also used in another web layout but I don't have same issue.
I have tried to the following.
- Retransport the layout
- delete the row and recreate it
but the issue is still the same.

Dynamic row selection based on Page member selection in Planning web-form

I have requirement where, user dont want 10 webforms to enter 2 accounts line for various sparse members. Below is the dimension detail and web-form current design
Account - Dense
Period - Dense
Year - Sparse
Scenario - Sparse
Version - Sparse
Entity - Sparse
Product - Sparse (600 level 0 members)
Product dim has family1 as parent and 40 level 0 mem like that there are 10 family level 1 members, now to enter account member (only 2 member) for 6 years projection ( it means 12 periods and 6 years in column ) , i can build 10 web-forms with one web-form has one family level-0 mem in rows,
however my question, is how can i achieve this in one web-form, instead of 10 web-forms for 400 products ?

Im not sure there is any simple way to get dynamic row selection based on what is selected in the page.
If I were designing the form based on what you have stated, I would probably stick both Account and Year in the page, and the 400 products in rows. This would require the user to select the different combinations of Year / Account, but would mean only 12 columns (instead of 72).
Alternatively you could stick Account in rows too - meaning 800 rows, but less combinations to select in Page....all depends what is deemed acceptable to the user.
Probably other approaches that may be better than above (put Product in the Page for fun!!)

Input Field: Value Range in IP Web Layout

Hi Experts,
I've created a Web Layout based on IP with a copy function (e.g. from actual 2008 to plan2009) over 12 calendar months. For choosing the months to be copied, I created a Variable (calmonths) and added an Input Field into my layout to enter the the months to be copied. I referred the variable to the input field and it's working...
When I want to select several months to be copied, I can type in " 1; 2; 3; " into the input field, execute the planning function and only month 1, 2, 3 (i.e. Jan, Feb, Mar) are being copied. But when I want to copy all 12 months, i have to enter 1; 2; 3; 4;...11; 12 which is kind of anoying! Has somebody some experience whether I can use a value range like 1-12 (or something like that) to avoid entering all the months individually? (I tried 1-12; 1- 12; 1 - 12; 1:12 etc but nothing like this is working)
It would be very helpful if someone has an idea

Thanks a lot for your valuable input! Unfortunately I was not able until today to test your recommodations.
I tried your Interval variable but then faced the problem that I cannot enter multiple months anymore (e.g. 5 - 8 worked, 1; 3; 5 not). Then I inserted both variables, multiple values & interval, into the planning function as well as in the button group in WAD for executing the PF but was not able to execute the following example: 1; 8; 4 - 6. After trying out for some time I figured out that one has to type in the figures in the following order: 4 - 6; 1; 8. Only then I am able to execute the planning function for the months April-June & Jan & August. So, if you're facing the same problem in the future, maybe you have the solution

How to call the JSP(Web layout) instead of paper layout...

Iam using Reports 10g. I have created a simple employees report. I have added a listbox in the jsp page by adding small Html and javascript code like below.

You are running a jsp report through rwservlet. In this case paper layout will be displayed. You have to deploy your jsp as web report to get the web layout. Please refer to the doc below, which describes how to deploy the web report.

To determine the number of rows selected in a table view (BSP)

My requirement is:
I would be selecting 1 row from a table view ( which is made multiselect for another requirement) , and press a button.
The functionality of button is to open a popup window based on the row selected.
I want to display an error message if more than 1 row is selected, and button is clicked.
Message will say that "you cannot select more than 1 row".
For this, I need to know how I can get the number of selected rows in a table view.
I tried using the below code.
But I feel this will work only in DO_HANDLE_DATA method.
The popup would open, even before control comes in this method.

WAD 2004s Analysis Item Row Select RRI_RECEIVER does not pass Filter values

I have created an Analysis item and using a Data Provider that has a Sender-Reciever entry for it. I created a Command on the Row Selection Activation that does an Report to Report (RRI) jump to another web page(template or app whatever sap calls it). When running the page, it performs the jump to the other page, but does not filter the page on the selected hierarchy value on the original page.
Why does this not work?
If I do the same thing by selecting the Goto from the context menu on the cell it works fine.

Answering my own question here....
This was solved by applying the patch mentioned in Note 1115027.

Hi,
the tree component has changed compared to 10.1.3. You no longer have a tableSelectmany component that renders as checkboxes. Instead you use the ctrl key and select the table rows
