RPC-XML and JMXBeans works behind a firewall?

Hi,
im studing Java and have a question, RPC-XML and JMXBeans is possible to run this tecnologies in Internet??
for example, if i have a J2EE server or a RPC-XML server and it is public for Internet, somebody can access to my services from his officce or house?
JMXBeans i think that have some types of communications, as rmi, jndi or ldap but i dont know thar it works fine behind a firewall
Sorry for my poor English, im studing it too

If you are going through a firewall then you are best off using http
tunneling for you client communication assuming the performance is
acceptable. If you do this then you should have no problems. For an
authenticating firewall with tunneled t3 you may need to provide
credentials to get through. If you are using wlclient.jar then you may
need to raise a support call since we don't currently support proxy
auth with tunneling.

Hi all
I'm developing a Swing application that connects to an application server and uses EJBs for communicating with the server.
My application works fine, now that it's not behind a firewall. Can my application also connect to the server when the client is behind a firewall? What if the client is behind a firewall that requires authentication?
If the answer to the above questions is no, could someone please tell me what do I have to do in order to guarantee that my application also works behind a firewall (or an authenticating firewall.)
Best Wishes,
Behrang S.--

  • Installing Iplanet web server and directory server behind a firewall

    When installing iplanet web server and directory server behind a firewall - should the interal ip address be used or the external ip address?

    Hello,
    When you are installing iplanet web server behind a firewall,you should use the internal ip address in the firewall.
    1. The external ip address connection to the Internet. The type of IP address used?dynamic (commonly used for standard
    modems) or static (commonly used for cable modems) is dictated by the ISP to which you connect and the type of service it provides.
    2. The internal ip adress connection. This connection must be a static IP assignment, and it must be assigned by you.
    obviously it depends on the type of firewall setup you have.
    Thanks

  • WMP Plugin Won't Work Behind University Firewall

    Hey people, I'm working behind a university firewall that blocks everything except http and https at the moment. I can't get any of my streaming audio to work when it loads in the Windows Media Player plugin, but streams work fine when I'm using Quicktime or Flash plugins.
    My question is, is there a way to choose Quicktime as the default plugin? I mean, I know most of my streams will work on either WMP or QT, but most go straight to WMP. WMP streams work fine on other people's windows machines, which just annoys me more. Any suggestions?

    Hello Stephen:
    Many (including me) use a free download called "Flip4Mac." That plug in permits WMP files to be played in Quicktime. In fact, Microsoft has dropped support for WMP on Macs and, as I recall, actually provided a link to Flip4Mac.

  • Messages Beta doesn't work behind corp firewall

    Any suggestion on this using like port 80 or 8080 to send messages to iPhone and iPad? Thanks!!!

    No, you can't change the ports used by Messages. All you can do is open the port required by Messages in the firewall.

  • Extension.xml and cue cards - Webcenter on Snow Leopard

    Hi,
    I have installed JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 on my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.6.7).
    It installed smoothly after (1) I set up the environment.plist to establish JAVA_HOME
    (2) I set up and tested a symlink to rt.jar
    to match the "IBM" java structure
    expected by the install program (thank you google).
    The hello_world works fine, and webcenter seems to be working at first blush.
    I have two problems that I was hoping to get advice on:
    (1) The Extensions window shows me two issues with the webcenter extension.xml
    oracle.webcenter.app
    Warning: Classpath entry /Users/steve_coleman/Oracle/javahome/jdk/lib/tools.jar not found.
    Warning: Classpath entry /Users/steve_coleman/Oracle/Middleware/modules/features/weblogic.server.modules_10.3.4.0.jar not found.
    I can quickly see that :
    "javahome" is present in the first entry (not sure why the path was mangled like this, but I can path it to the rt.jar easily)
    weblogic.server.modules_10.3.4.0.jar does not exist ( I have 10.3.5 )
    I can fix both entries by editing the extension.xml and substituting working path name. I is this the best way to do this or are these errors best corrected another way or is this a symptom of a greater problem in my setup?
    (2) from HelpCenter /Search / Build a Fusion Application / Part 1 .. I cannot "Launch the cue cards" and get the following exception:
    Performing action About[ from oracle.ide.log.MessagePage ]
    Invoking command: [ from oracle.ide.log.MessagePage ]

  • File Sync Not Working Behind Firewall

    I need to share files between my work computer and my home computer. My work computer is always connected behind a firewall. I was finally able to get the updater process to work by changing my IE settings (BTW, why won't that work with an auto proxy configuration?) However, the files and fonts tabs won't sync. The files tab just shows the waiting to connect circle continuously. If I place a file in the Creative Cloud Files folder on one PC it never shows up on the other.
    I don't see any proxy settings anywhere in the CC app.
    I don't understand why Google Drive and Dropbox work just fine but I can't get Adobe File Sync to work at all. Because of this my 20GB of storage is essentially useless.

  • I have added/embedded four videos on my website, but when I scroll down, the videos scroll in front of the top menu instead of behind as it should. I have tried changing layers, etc., and nothing works. Can you help?

    I have embedded 4 videos on my website. It is a single page, scrolling site. When I scroll down, the videos scroll in front of the top menu bar, instead of behind it. I have tried changing layers, etc., and nothing works. Please help.
    Thanks.
    Paul W. Norman

    Hi,
    Kindly create a new layer, via the Layers panel:
    Then, right click on the navigation bar, and choose Move to Layer > Layer 2
    Ensure that Layer 2 is on top of the other layers.
    Hope it helps,
    Sonam

  • IChat AV does not work behind firewall even after opening up correct ports

    Hi. I am trying to get my iChat setup so that I can do video and audio. It works fine when my mac is directly plugged into the cable modem. When I plug it into my firewall it will not connect. I have read many online manuals and forums and I have tried opening many ports etc on the fire wall. I am using a MBP thats running the latest software. This is clearly an external firewall issue because my MBP works fine without the firewall.
    Here is what I have forwarded.
    Ports to Open on Firewall.... BOLD LAN ports only.
    TCP: 5220, 5222, 5223
    UDP: 5060, 5297, 5353, 5678, 16384-16403
    TCP/UDP: 5180, 5190, 5298
    according to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1507
    It attempts to connect then fails. I have run it in terminal to try to catch the error logs and figure out what is going on. I have the complete error logs from three seperate attempts if that would help.
    The firewall is a FreeBSD based firewall running pfsense. It is also controlling DHCP. My MBP is connecting to the network via a Time Capsule which has been set to not do DHCP and instead forward to the firewall/router. When my MBP connects it is always assigned the same IP based on its mac address. All the firewall rules are set to that IP. Any idea whats going on here?

    I opened all of the right ports. it seems my firewall was randomizing outgoing ports as a security feature and this was messing with the SIP protocol creating a successful connection. I set my outgoing port to be static and now everything works fine!

  • How .xml and ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music work

    Have posted this before, just reposting in hopes of getting an answer...
    In 2.5 years we've had 3 hard drives, 2 logic boards, a power supply, multiple crashes, etc. During all this time of data recovery and frantic backing up, I managed to duplicate all but the most recently added songs in my iTunes folder. In the past I had deleted these duplicates from the Music library. So, I don't think I had these duplicates before re-importing or adding my songs to the iTunes program after an erase and install two days ago. The erase and install did not get rid of our erratic computer problem(s), and Apple is graciously sending us a new iMac.
    I'd like to clear up this duplicate issue before importing my library to iTunes on the new computer. As far as I can tell, I'll have to delete each duplicate by hand. My question relates to how the iTunes Music folder, the iTunes Music Library.xml doc, and the actual iTunes program work together.
    (1) Should I go into ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/album folders and delete each song by hand from there? Or should I import all the duplicates in these folders and delete them from within iTunes? In the end, I want no duplicates in the iTunes program and no duplicates in my iTunes Music/album folders.
    (2) Could the .xml file be saving data that would cause these duplicates to be recreated? Should I resave it after deleting duplicates? Does the .xml file affect the Music library at all?
    (3) This last time, I don't know if I officially "imported" or "added" music or what. iTunes had been reinstalled, was empty. First, I put iTunes Music Library.xml on my desktop, and then went to File>Import (like on http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93313). But, absolutely no music showed up in the music library. All my playlists showed up, and they had no music. Only radio stations we had put in playlists showed up. In the referenced article, it says NOT to add music when you are doing this, so I didn't. THEN, I dragged ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music and dropped it into iTunes. All the duplicates were created then, I believe.
    Did I "import" or "add", or what? Did I cause duplicates to be created? Should I drag-and-drop ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music or import it BEFORE I do the .xml thing? I believe next time I'll take advantage of the File>Back Up To Disc function, and I'm assuming this won't happen.
    Thank you for your help!
    Deanna
    P.S. After my initial post, somebody suggested the article at
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93732
    However, this article deals with .xml and iTunes Music Library, which is a database file. I need info on .xml and iTunes Music Folder, the folder that physically holds all my iTunes.

    the developers of SuperSync claim the app works over the WAN.

  • Intercepting SOAP XML message in JAX-RPC Handler and calling a diff method

    Is it possible to intercept the SOAP XML message in the JAX-RPC handler and avoid the serialization and deserialization (OR avoid XML data binding)
    Here is a more detail question
    My web service has two methods
    1. One Method which accepts Java Object (this object is mapped with a Schema
    Complex Type Element in my WSDL file)
    2. Second method which accept simple String type.
    I want my web service client to send java object (using the first method), so that the Input gets validate in the WSDL itself (before it hits the actual web service) but once the request gets validated i want to pass that converted SOAP XML String (on the Server side using JAX-RPC handler) to the Second method.

    The answer to this is that the WSDL had
    elementFormDefault="qualified"
    in the schema.
    Changing to unqualified resulted in the desired output.
    Note: The service was changed to handle both cases.

  • App Files Saved as XML and Working with New Versions

    We work with app data in the form of array of large clusters and use LV Anything to XML conversion VIs to save to disk.
    The problem is when new app versions are developed and changes are made to the cluster format; we want the customer to be able to open the old version saved XML file format.
    Usually the saved cluster (in XML) has be changed by adding/removing a field or even changing the options of a ring control for example.
    The app name and version is stored in the XML.
    Question: Is there a way of easily working with XML file formats with slightly different fields?
    In the past we have worked with the raw XML text by searching for fields which are different and modifying them accordingly so they are accepted by the new file format.
    Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

    battler. wrote:
    I have written a software name and version cluster to XML.  How do you read the version field in the XML?  Do you use string search?  Is there a better way?
    Yes, I use String Search (because it is near the beginning of the XML string).  Depending on your XML "flavor", you should be able to uniquely-identify the Version information.
    I'm interested in how best to work with XML.  It seems cumbersome and prone to error to use string functions.  Is there a way or best practice of reading the XML fields directly without converting to cluster?
    XML is, after all, text with specific "tag" information, also text, identifying it.  String functions are pretty much "the way to go", but except in rare circumstances, you shouldn't necessarily "roll your own", but should try to use the utilities that come with your XML package that "know" how to do the mapping between the XML representation of a LabVIEW variable (and its value) and the Variable itself.
    Can you elaborate on these "mapping" and "reading/conversion" routines you're using?  How do they work and what functions do they use?
    An excellent question.  There are at least three XML packages out there for LabVIEW -- the "native" LabVIEW package that NI provides, EasyXML from JKI Software (distributed using VIPM), and GXML, also on the LabVIEW Package network.  I'm afraid that I'm slightly "abusing" XML, and have made some modifications to how I use EasyXML and GXML.
    If you simply view an XML file in a "smart" editor, you'll see a series of text lines with Begin/End tags (like HTML).  Depending on the XML "flavor", embedded between the tags are data that describe the LabVIEW variable type (e.g. Dbl, Cluster, Array, etc.) and also the value(s) of the Variable.  The "ReadXML" (or similarly-named) function takes this description and (usually) returns a Variant that you can "turn into" the chosen variable (because you know the data type).  [You may need to tell the Reader, in advance, the type of LabVIEW variable to expect so that it "knows when to stop reading"].
    As to how they work, they just do String pattern matching and processing, usually of a pretty sophisticated level, but then you don't have to do the hard work yourself!
    Why do you use Private Project library?  Is your project based on OO?
    The reason I used a Project Library with the "messy details" in the Private parts has nothing to do with OO, but rather with "data hiding".  I actually developed this for my data processing routines.  I had a set of routines that collected and analyzed the data (about 700 VIs).  Let's call this Project "Version 1".
    For Version 2, I basically added a dozen variables to the main  Data Cluster (having over a hundred elements) that characterized the response.  As this Cluster was in a Type Def, I didn't have to change my code very much to accomodate this new data format, so most of my VIs kept the same name, but were "different" because the underlying TypeDefs were different.
    So I have a Version 1 program that can analyze Version 1 data, and a Version 2 program for Version 2 data.  What I want is a Version-independent program that can look at the data, and then call for Version 1 or Version 2 analysis.  By burying the Version 1 and Version 2 code inside of a Project Library, and only exposing the top-level "Analyze My Data" VI, my Analysis routine, which didn't know (and didn't care) about the two different Data TypeDefs, just figures out (from the XML) which Version of data I have and then calls either Lib1:Analyze My Data or Lib2:Analyze My Data.  If I ever change the Version again, I just need to copy the code in the Library to a new Lib3 Library, modify the TypeDef and related version-specific code as needed, and I'm done.
    I may have made this sound easy -- trust me, it was a definite learning experience.  While trying this out, the first thing I did was to "break" my installations of LabVIEW 2012, 2013, and 2014 (curiously, LabVIEW 2011 wasn't broken).  It stayed "broken" for about a week, then "cured" itself (I'd done something illegal, or maybe just immoral, with my Library, and it took a while to purge the badness).

  • Renew activation error behind corporate firewall and proxy

    Hi all,
    I have come to the end of my first month for CC subscription and have been getting the following popup saying that my subscription (to CC) has expired and unable to connect to the internet.
    I have followed all the step by step instructions at http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html with no success.
    My computer is on the corporate network and has both a local firewall and a corporate firewall and proxy. According to our IT HelpDesk, the local firewall is not the issue, and they suggested asking here in the Adobe Forums for advice on how to make this work.
    I also tried clicking the Subscription Manager link in the popup, but it doesn't take me to any page where I can activate the CC applications. Is there a way to manually activate them? I will have access stopped by Monday and I need continued use of the applications.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    cheers, Pete

    Cotton_Pete please point your I.T. department to the Adobe Creative Cloud Service Access Documentation for IT section at    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/enterprisedeployment.html.  They can find documentation which will allow your I.T. department to properly configure your network for Adobe subscription and perpetual products.

    <idnt>1</idnt>
    <label>Mental Health</label>
    <text>Mental Health pages is currently under
    construction</text>
    </button>
    </Menu>
    Now I want to generate Buttons Dynamically from this XML. And
    the second thing which is the most problematic is that how I code
    it so that when I press the Button labled "General Health", it will
    show the same text as in the XML tag coresponding to tag
    "<label>General Health</label>" ?
    I badly need this. I am realy confused on this. Kindly help
    me.

    Let's assume that variable "node" contains one element of the
    XML. For example,
    <button>
    <idnt>0</idnt>
    <label>General Health</label>
    <text>General Health pages is currently under
    construction</text>
    </button>
    such that node.label would be "General Health", node.idnt
    would be 0, etc.
    You can build a Button like this:
    var b:Button = new Button();
    b.label = node.label;
    b.data = node; // more on this later
    b.width = 60;
    b.height = 26;
    addChild(b); // critical - adds the button to the display
    list so you can see it
    b.addEventHandler( MouseEvent.CLICK, handleClick );
    You must set the button's width and height unless the button
    will be in a container that will size its own children (like Tile).
    Every Flex component has a data property. You can set it to
    whatever you like. For your needs it makes sense to set each
    Button's data property to the node it relates to.
    Now suppose that code above is in a function, createButton:
    private function createButton( node:XML ) : void {
    // code from above
    Here's how to make all the buttons where "menu" is a variable
    that contains your XML:
    for(var k:int=0; k < menu.button; k++) { // menu.button is
    an XMLList
    createButton( menu.button[k] );
    Now to handle the event:
    private function handleEvent( event:MouseEvent ) : void
    var b:Button = event.currentTarget as Button;
    trace( b.data.text);
    When a button is picked, the description element will print
    in the debug console. Replace the trace with whatever code you
    need.
